for kevin well anything is fair game!!! because we dont get much for how he looks like i feel like its really fun to write him as different ethnicities across my fics :-0! i loveeee arab kevin (tnotg & band au), brazilian kev (fangling), chinese kev (band au, butcher neil fic)….. basically all kevs are beautiful and valid to me :) i dont have a favorite but if you’re wondering how i imagine kevin in my head whenever i write him i think the fanon depiction of tgcf yin yu is the closest ive ever seen! albeit a bit too pale, and ive always imagined kevin’s hair as wavy-ish

i think one of kevins Trademark Features(tm) to me would be having a lot of beauty marks on his face :) this hc spans across all kevins ive ever written so at this point its almost gospel to me. as an addendum i also love to imagine kevin with pretty up-turned eyes!! im not sure if im describing it how i see it but its exactly how the absurdly talented @emry-stars-art draws his eyes :-)!

for neil being jewish i think its really my favorite neil hc ever :) i imagine neil very closely to the accepted fanon depiction of him but i think he has that early 2010s andy samberg look to him that’s just really charming…. neil is i think very boyish so whenever i imagine him hes really always just a Guy. a normal healthy looking teenage boy :) the only thing he wears is sport shirts and those adidas shorts that reach just above the knee. boy, as i said

He probably used to just accept it and maybe found his friends teasing him kinda funny when he was younger, but the older he gets and he's still getting those comments and treated that way, it might be affecting him more than it used to. I think a lot of people just think because men are "tougher" that it's okay to be gross about them and it doesn't bother them like it does women, but that's probably not always the case. Like plenty of men have mental health issues and can get eating disorders and have body image issues just like women do// I honestly hadn’t stopped to consider the comments he used to get form other cast members on TW but it was pretty consistent. IRC Andy Samberg also said that they had to edit out his abs in Palm Springs because they were too distracting for the audience during the emotional scene.

I think he understands that he’s going to get objectified (and I don’t necessarily think there’s anything wrong with that in the correct channels where people can’t see it) but, as someone else said, the comments that get pasted on Twitter and other SM are ridiculous.

-Jere Pilapil- 5.5/10 Here comes some solid and good fun from the Disney Corporation, presented on Disney . Mmm mmm, we love IP, don’t we people? It’s like watching a child play with action figures. This time around, Akiva Shaffer directs a kind of reboot/reimagining of the Rescue Rangers show in a Who Framed Roger Rabbit mold, where real people and cartoons interact and work together. This being 2022, it plays into the evolution of animation over the past couple decades as well. It’s clever that Dale, the more lackadaisical of the titular pair, has gotten “CGI surgery”, making himself a 3D rendering of a chipmunk, while Chip has retained his 2D animation model, for example. It’s a cute way to imagine animated creatures as living in the real world. “Cute” is the best way I’d describe this movie. Some of the thrill is in various non-Disney-owned cameos, which are surprising mostly for the fact of them, not that they generally add up to much. This joins the Nic Cage worship-fest The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent in being a comedy where a lot of the humor was already mined to death from social media. Both movies probably should credit “Twitter” as a writer and both, are kind of time capsules to specific moments in internet culture. That sounds like a diss, but it’s at least more focused than scrolling through #animation on TikTok. Sorry! I did it again! I did enjoy this movie as a sweet but generic kind of romp where two friends are estranged and forced back into friendship by circumstances out of their control. The execution fails some good jokes, though, as the Chip-Dale 2D-3D dichotomy is clever but unintentionally exposes the limits of 3D animation (at least when set against a real world backdrop). Dale winds up in the very uncanny valley an extended bit in this movie makes fun of, his eyes kind of a dead glassy stare. 2D models are sometimes more relatable since they’re simpler, and I felt that acutely in this movie. Still, it’s almost fitting, since you can kind of see that same glassy stare half the time an actor reprises an old character decades later. Regardless, it deflates what little emotional weight this movie tries to carry. Still, we’re here for the jokes, and what’s here is pretty solid. (It’s kind of glaring how ready everyone involved here is to take easy shots at unpopular/forgotten/unprofitable animation, though.) It helps that John Mulaney and Andy Samberg ease nicely into the titular roles, where the dynamic is perfect for their stock characters. All in all, I’d call this a particularly low-risk, low-reward proposition. I feel rewarded - both for being online and for liking animation - but not enriched for having seen this.
