Kinda crazy how people will call out celebrities for not speaking up on political issues and then a celebrity WILL speak up on that political issue but doesn’t do it in exactly the way these people want so they’ll call THEM out too and it’s like why tf would anyone want to do anything these days if every action they take gets them called out???
#specifically referencing Annie Lennox this time but I’ve seen it so many times just on this issue alone#she called for a ceasefire at the fucking Grammys and all pro Palestine people praised her#and then she made a non aggressive post about it on Twitter that still called for ceasefire but didn’t praise hamas#and people are shaming her and calling her a coward#another time I read someone say Bella Ramsay signed the hostage release letter right after Oct 7#but has since been outspoken about pro Palestine#but that that’s not enough and they’re still bad for doing that first thing#when they’re an actor not an activist and nobody really understood what was going on back then#like this is exactly why I won’t be one of the people calling on celebrities to be posting on every issue#cuz even people more well informed are called out for being wrong about stuff#I’ve been following this issue since 2019 and I still don’t feel fully comfortable doing more than sharing stuff from better informed people#cand calling out hypocracies and bad arguements (something I studied in college)#I can’t expect someone who didn’t know anything before four months ago and doesn’t actively follow it now#to feel comfortable taking a strong side on an issue where no matter what you do you’re gonna get death threats from SOMEONE#pro Israel pro Palestine neural stance silence#every single choice makes people mad at you so it’s really safer to go with the last#this isn’t ‘register to vote’ or ‘this issue directly affects me and I’m therefore better informed so I’ll talk about it’#this is an extremely hot button sensitive issue#and I’m tired of people acting like social media activism is where we should start and end#call our your politicians not your actors and singers for gods sake

honestly, if i may, all of this talk about the way people treat trans women has reminded me of an experience i still remember vividly back when i was peripherally part of the tumblr / twitter mfrp community. which please note i was never a very active participant, i personally found mfrp very boring and so i was never really fully integrated into these communities - but while i was in them i did befriend a few trans women and i noticed a very persistent pattern in these supposed LGBT-friendly spaces regarding the moderation of trans women.
there was a persistent issue in multiple different mfrp communities i was peripherally involved in, in which trans women would always be regarded as "abrasive" or "aggressive", for making the same kinds of comments and jokes that tme people were making. and the (majority tme) moderation teams would almost always rule against trans women, silencing them or labeling them as deviants / weirdos for behaviors that they would be much more forgiving towards tme people for.
as a sort of bystander i didn't really have a leg in to comment on the actions of moderation teams, i could only offer being a friend to trans women as i watched them be ostracized from these spaces by the very same people who would plaster "terfs dni" all over their bios. i'm not saying this to pat myself on the back, there is definitely more i could have done in those situations, but i do want to call out why all these "fuck terf" type posts just never really resonate with me, seeing them be rbed by people who i know would just jump at the opportunity to demonize a trans woman again (and i just saw it happen earlier with that stupid shit slinging post falsely accusing a trans woman of something she didn't even do regarding cohost...) (i'm aware op of that post apologized for their behavior but what occurred is what occurred)
it's not enough to say "fuck terfs" and i hate that people always center on the buffoonery of terf behavior instead of centering and caring for and supporting the trans women in their lives. it's really frustrating for me to watch as a staunch feminist to continually see the way the lgbt community has let down trans women. the recent wave of discourse regarding "transandrophobia" is also extremely worrying to me - i have seen a non-insignificant number of posts made by certain people in that community that claim that the lgbt community is Too centered on trans women: as if it's a competition, and as if the visibility of trans women is somehow a boon to them rather than a consequence of people using their cause to simply be performative instead of genuinely uplifting and loving.
sorry this isn't the most well thought-out post, i'm just rambling and i have a lot of complicated feelings on this. i don't want to derail what's happening right now too much by bringing up other topics, but i will say i do think it's inevitable that at some point we do need to confront some of the "transandrophobia truther" type sentiments i've seen lately, because they absolutely are damaging to trans women and lead to situations exactly like this.
please, if nothing else, i really hope everyone takes this as an opportunity to be kind to the trans women in their lives. the least you could do is offer them your support. reblogging posts dunking on transmisogynists is not enough. we need to make our communities safer for trans women, and that doesn't end with car hammer explosion memes.
rbs off because i'm not interested in centering my voice as a tme person and this post isn't really something polished i want escaping from my social circle. if you're a mutual of mine and you're feeling unsure about my stance on some of the topics mentioned above, my DMs are open and i am happy to discuss, but at the very least all i ask is for us to be better to trans women. that's all.

Hi! How has your fandom experience been so far? Do you ever feel burnt out?
Naruto Fandom as a whole = Tear-Wiping & Woobification of their Favourites by shamelessly blame Shifting, Projecting non-existent Mental Illness and Romantic feelings, Playing Pain Olympics, Victimizing their fav while Antagonizing other sub-fandom.
[ **Am sorry, Every character tags, I go into tumblr, they play this PTSD card and absolve their shittiness which is totally stupid.. when In Canon none of the characters display such symptoms for a prolonged period** ]
However, I found the right people from the other sub-fandom who don't spoon-feed & apologize for their favs and simply Call A Spade, A Spade. They adhere to canon and stick to the facts. So, it makes this place nice.
As for SNS Fandom - Extremely One-Sided (Sasuke-sided), Boring, Dull, Unfunny, Passive - Aggressive, Back-Bitching and Homogeneous Wannabe ((Meaning: If you don’t agree with the majority... then you are bullied))
Howwwweverrrrrrr
.
.
That's not the only impression I have though. Atleast personally.
My time for the 1 whole year I’ve spent in this SNS Fandom is majorly (98%) AWESOME, felt Blessed. Majorly due to the Anons who send me asks.
The Type of Asks I am receiving will never cease to amuse me. Not gonna lie, more than writing an answer, I always enjoy reading Anon Asks. Some of the asks, I don’t even want to let them leave my Inbox, I want to keep it forever, cradling like a baby. LOL... Some of the Asks, I feel like "Anon, You really should post this in your own blog and I want to reblog it.. Damn Good!!!"
So, I'll just attach something memorable.
THE FIRST ASK.  Everything started from here.....
My very first Ask.
I don't know why that Anon decided to send me an ask... Considering, I only made one post before... But I still treasure that one. Also, it’s very hilarious that I genuinely thought Kishimoto made NH because Hinata was popular. Also, I thought those wedding episodes were drawn by Kishimoto. LOL. Coz, I didn’t finish reading the manga at that time.
So, A Big Thanks for that Anon...
ANONS BE - FUNNY AF...... LMAO
And then Some Anons are Extremely funny... Like Mad funny to the point of making me smile in places where I shouldn’t be... I am a person who adores people with great sense of humour... I easily become friends with them if they keep on cracking jokes....
Tumblr media
Poor Anon... I always headcanon myself to offer my Winter Jacket to this poor soul if they ended up watching that Movie...
Tumblr media
“GTFO you fangirl cringe-fest” == LMAO.
Tumblr media
This Anon has an amazing Dark Humour... Like, Every sentence was a peak comedy... “Maybe Quickly tie the rods with a strong thread then run off and have some friends trying pull out” --- I remember I was attending a meeting in my workplace and suddenly I couldn’t help but giggle thinking about this line... then my Team Lead was remarking that, “It seems someone is in Crush”.... LOL... How do I tell them that I was really smiling at this one???? [[Anon, If you are reading this, you definitely should write a Dark Comedy or Gag fic for SNS... I stan Gag materials...]]
Tumblr media
The Anon was talking about SS Vs NH war in twitter during that Sasuke Retsuden Manga illustration news broke out. LOL... “Fat Priests”
Tumblr media
“Look, Kishimoto could have claimed in an interview that Kiba was secretly the reincarnation of the Sage of the Six Paths and it would have meant Jackshit...”
I don’t know what this Anon has against Kiba.... But it’s just hilarious af.
Here’s the thing.. Even if you, readers, don’t agree with what I write, atleast you could try reading the Anons question which would definitely ease off your mind for sure.
ANONS BE - EXTREMELY OBSERVANT
If Hilariousness is one side... Then I must say, Being Observant is another side...
For example,
I was mentioning in many of my posts that Sakura’s character is not a Bad Writing.. instead there was an intention behind why she was written like that... I mentioned about this fact in a casual manner without any emphasis on it.... And one anon picked up my words and asked Why is that... And that became one of the lengthy post I’ve written so far which has nothing to do with SNS but it ended up being SNS...
In this Post, I casually mentioned that Sasuke is not an Arrogant person, in a random line... That ask was totally about Naruto’s Aesthetic appeal inside Narutoverse. But our SNS blogger (larrycherry07), pointedly asked me about that sentence as to why I feel that way... And I ended up making a lengthy post about Sasuke’s Arrogance .
Similarly, In this post, I was talking about how Kishimoto started to screw up SS/NH/NS/SK starting from Pain Arc.... and I just casually added a line as to how Kishi made Madara dirty... as a casual mention... And then another anon picked that line and asked me as to Why I feel Madara was nerfed like clown... And That became another lengthy post..
So, you see... The Anons are extremely Observant and when I get ask like that, I simply get astounded as to, “Yaaayy!!! People are reading even my lengthy rants and are paying attention to it... But on the other hand I should be extra responsible & careful about what I write, from here onwards”...
ANONS BE - TELEPATHIC
Just when I want to write a single post about some topic... Some telepathic anon would send an Ask reflecting what was in my mind, right out of nowhere and I am like... “....”..... Shocked to the core.
Like how do they do that???? I swear, this can’t be happening in any other fandom, Right???
ANONS BE - HETEROGENOUS (being diverse)
One of the best thing I enjoy about these anons are... They really want to know about other stuffs too. i.e, things that doesn’t have anything to do with SNS or even SS/NH.... Someday, I get an ask about Deidara. Another day I get an ask about Obito.
Which shows, they are invested in this series as a Whole just like I do... Which makes me feel truly connected to this Fandom.
ANONS BE - DESCRIPTIVE (SINCERE)
Most of the Anons send me ask explaining what they mean, why do they feel certain way and how do they come to that conclusion... And then they ask what do I think about those. You could clearly see the sincerity in their thought process and genuinely want to know more about this series. One such ask is this...
Again, this doesn’t only pertains to SNS but this also extends to other plotlines as well. This is something I wish that could’ve happened in other platforms back when I was a new comer to this fandom...
ANONS BE - ‘EXPLAIN THIS’ (correcting my stance)
There is this ask where the Anon was asking my contradictory meaning to two similar things... I mean, In one of my previous posts, I’ve said “Sasuke catched Sakura and thanking her silently” and In another post, I’ve said, “Sasuke made a silent apology to Naruto through Tears in Chapter 698... Like he doesn’t need words”... So, it looks both of the acts are similar in nature.... And the Anon was asking my explanation...
Which shows, they read my posts carefully... And remembers what I write... They connect the dots together and want to know more about it. If there’s any contradiction, they’d like to ask me about that as well... Which is very cool of them, tbh.
ANONS BE - THOUGHT PROVOKING
Okay. Let me tell you.... Not every opinions are strongly developed from my own head... Sometimes, Anons help me develop it... Like, you subconsciously know about something but you won’t realize it or even spend your time to bother thinking about it... And then some Anon would randomly send an Ask and it’d just flare my subconscious thoughts up and help me hit the Euphoria....
One such moment was...
After receiving this amazing Ask...
When I got that ask... it never gave me any sense of Epiphany... I casually answered what I felt at that time... Which is very evident from my changed current opinions as compared to that ask... [[ Not only women characters’ arc revolve around men... But men characters’ arc also revolve around men.. Which I didn’t realize before... I legit thought Kishi drew Hinata in an Obscene way... LOL ]]
But after sometime, when I started to ask myself some questions, “Why didn’t the author made Sakura and Hinata to be likeable??? Like why? I even love Obito who did everything wrong... but somehow I couldn’t bring myself to like these girls... What must be the reason?”
And whenever I ask these kind of questions related to women characters... I keep coming back to this ask...
Then I started paying attention towards Tsunade more and more... And Realized she is not only a secondary side character but also developed with more attention. Like she has a Backstory... She has a Dream that doesn’t have anything to do with Dan... She is independent... She is Strong... She was given a position of Power... She wasn’t written to be like a bimbo with just boobs with no personality... All for a side character.... And I wondered, why didn’t Kishimoto did the same with Sakura though???
Then only these lines from that ask struck me...
I don't believe Kishi can't write romance, I also don't believe he can't write at least halfway decent female characters, he just chose not to... I felt like sensei not only deliberately wrote the women in a bad light, he made something akin to the development of something romantic, just to later deliberately sabotage them.
So, that’s why???!!!!
The Author intentionally want us to hate these two women so that we would notice SNS bond better otherwise we would end up shipping NH/SS... And that’s why he sabotaged them at every given chance????
Then only I started to piece together the purpose of these women as a Beard... And also I realized that Kishi is not that misogynistic monster the fandom claim him to be... Instead I felt he is more disinterested in anyone who is not Naruto and Sasuke. Be it male or female....
I mean I subconsciously had no problems with Kishimoto’s writing of Women characters... It’s only after I got into the fandom I kept hearing these claims... But that ask totally flared up my inner thoughts more and more... And it confirmed many things in the long run... Which made me write so many post on that topic.
Thanks to that Ask... which actually helped me realize something great about the Author’s nuances...
(Some ask had negatively affected me though, which I’ll explain in my other post tomorrow)

Now tell me, How many fandoms out there could say that they have people who could share and discuss their thoughts in a Funny, Sensible, Thought Provoking, Sincere manner all the while being super polite??? ON A CONSISTENT BASIS....??? I mean, in the Past 1 year... there’s not many days that goes without a post from me... Almost everyday, I post something... And 95% of those asks are unique in nature...
Well, yes... I get Hate Asks from time to time... But all of them are totally negligible and trivial when compared to all the other meaningful asks I receive.
And Yes... I don’t like this NS/SN discourse at all... Especially one having the moral high ground and invalidating the other based on Headcanons.
SNS fandom maybe boring and unfunny, sometimes downright irritating because of the passive aggressiveness & relentless one-sidedness.
But I am clearly having fun in my own little space because of all those lovely anons... So, the least I could do is convey my Thank You to everyone who sent me asks so far and lending their time and eyes to my answers.

(same anon) ur totally right abt those two I thought I was the only one who couldn't stand either of them (and their entire posse of FOLLOWERS who. truly followed them w cult-like vigor) bc of the power they wielded by touting themselves as 'true rational' when anybody who dare said "hey c/r ain't all that and what they're doing... this ain't right" would get thrown under the bus as they'd make 'rational' posts abt how these ppl who questioned c/r were clearly of inferior intellect and didn't Get the Superior Intellect of C/R.
another one of them is c/ranesbyibycus and these three had a fuckall trinity of touting themselves as "ships everything and ships nothing! so we have true neutrality as a council™ to have rational CR opinions!"
like... yall think this most mediocre (calling him mediocre feels generous) white man who constantly puts whitewashed art on the reel, says racist and orientalist bullshit repeatedly and makes non-apologies when held accountable; makes lesbophobic comments ON AIR in the show and gets away with it— you put this absolutely detestable fucker on a pedestal and tut yourselves the self-proclaimed Leaders™ of this "thirst cult" dedicated to him.
You're some kind of hypocrite to think you're very "Logical" and "Take No Sides" when you talk down to the people (especially marginalized communities and fans of colour) who react emotionally and point out C/R's slew of fuckups... if THIS dude is the hill you're ready to die on lmao.
Not sure "rational" is a word I'd use for any of you clowns.
They’re always condescending to critics and treat them like morons. If it’s about the company, “they don’t understand business.” If it’s about the narrative, “they don’t understand storytelling.” If it’s about the characters, “they don’t understand nuance.” (Nuance was and still is their favorite word.) It’s self-aggrandizement.
And the LTC thing. The exaltation was always SO off-putting, and the farthest from normal or rational you could get. Then you add in all the problematic things about him that they would so quickly explain away or downplay, and vehemently say his critics were ‘reaching’. Also, if you noticed, none of these people EVER defended anyone else in the cast with even close to the same amount of vigor.
But, they have no biases, right?
c/ranesofibycus! That’s the one. Every time I’ve tried to remember her URL, I kept calling it cranes of hibiscus lol
Anyway, yes, her too. She was the person I referenced in one of my old posts. After Matt reprimanded people on twitter over the ‘Jester ageing up’ drama, she posted this...
Tumblr media
That was the first post that made me wary.
But, I was actually okay with her for a while. Because even after everyone else started turning shitty, she wasn’t calling people crazy or delusional, or making passive aggressive posts in the discourse tag or in OUR tag, like some assholes loved to do. She actually did keep a cool head even through all the chaos. One example, after the backlash that Liam got over his playlist pick, “She” by Dodie. She didn’t like that some people were sending nasty things to him, but she understood why it was upsetting to some people, and even admitted that she was confused when she saw the song on there. And that IS a completely rational reaction.
That was the difference. I never felt any underlying nastiness coming from her posts, unlike the other two. b/eetlemancy became openly nasty to everybody, and l/uck had the passive aggressive vagueposting (but not so vague) down pat.
The post that finally soured me on c/ranes, was this one...
Tumblr media
And it was in the Beaujester tag! When I first caught it while scrolling, I thought for sure it had to have come from either b/eetlemancy or t/hebeaubar, or r/edjennies, or any of those extra shady, holier-than-thou (mainly BY) blogs. But when I scrolled up and saw her URL, I was shocked.
And look who was in the notes...

Okay so I want to make couple things clear. Let me start this by saying I’ve been in this fandom for literal years and seen all kinds of stuff from “Sasuke shouldn’t breed because eugenics” to “Sasuke doesn’t even deserve Naruto” to “Naruto would sexually assault Sasuke” to “Sasuke would sexually assault Naruto” to “people talk too much about Sasuke’s suffering” to god knows what else that has made me dislike sns fandom and be wary of it.
I also don’t personally think Sasuke is “female coded” it’s more about homoeroticism if anything, but it does say something if a whole bunch of people who aren’t women (including one of the directors of the anime) think he’s heroine-like or should have been a female character. I, however, understand what people mean when they say it, because it’s not common for example to see a male character sexualized in a way Sasuke is, that usually happens to female characters. That obviously doesn’t make him a woman or fragile or erase the fact he does cool things or is aggressive or vengeful sometimes and isn’t “girly” at all.
The way I ship Naruto and Sasuke is probably the least problematic thing ever, I’m protective of Sasuke and don’t want any non-con/dub-con (I won’t attack people for it, I just avoid it), hell I prefer reading fluff or angst. Me pointing out the sexualization of Sasuke is literally just being honest. People used to be more honest about it, I remember even men on forum were mocking how other shonen sexualize women but Naruto is just yaoi fanservice and sexualizes Sasuke when the manga was still going. And I have seen even people who aren’t in the Naruto fandom to notice it just based on panels. Because it really is that obvious (to people who aren’t in denial that is).
Tumblr media
I don’t know about that because I have never talked about that issue or reblogged anything about it. But I have seen plenty of posts equating Naruto to shojo protagonist and Sasuke to his bad boy, and how Naruto is more “feminine” and Sasuke is “more traditionally masculine” because Naruto cries or whatever. And looking at the blogs they are serious about it, but of course most people don’t have a problem with that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nah I don’t think I will. I think pressing against someone with your naked body is weird as hell, not even including all the innuendo with that whole encounter. Not that kind of “harassment” but you know, drawn suggestively. And yes Karin flirted with Sasuke but she was also couple times creepy (not to him directly). And Kishi obviously didn’t have to draw any of this. In op stuff like this happens to usually Nami. And then right after we have Karin coming on Sasuke’s skin. This whole particular volume was full of Sasuke fanservice, starting from that suggestive chapter cover, jutsu with Sai and not even ending there. Oh and I forgot Oro and Kabuto and Obito from my list. They all act weird with Sasuke and want to kidnap and possess him. Oro calls Sasuke’s face and body beautiful, Kabuto says he wants a “fragile” Uchiha and wants Sasuke to stay by his side forever. Like is anyone seriously not seeing this.
Seriously calling me “puritan” over this?
That being said, I don’t ship Sasuke with any of these people, I only ship him with Naruto, in a consensual relationship. But I’m not gonna pretend I don’t see what’s there.
The latter: the only tweet I have seen about that was the tweet mocking the claim Sakura married him for his money, I have not seen the original tweet (and I don’t remember what that ask was or whether the anon had seen it). I stay far away from Naruto twitter for the exact reason that everyone is crazy there (though it is anime fandoms in general).
Tumblr media
Jesus... the misogyny is referring to people who say if you don’t like Sakura and like Sasuke you’re a misogynist, not whatever post op has made about Sakura being written misogynistically. I’m sick of female character stans always pulling the misogyny card if someone doesn’t care much about a female character who is not written well. Sakura would be the easiest to ignore considering Sasuke ignores her as well if her stans didn’t constantly act like Sasuke ruined her life. Not to mention I’m always ready to defend her from things like people saying she’s an asshole for not being interested in Lee or turning him down or people acting like Hinata is much better than her because she simped the right guy. But people acting like they’re feminists for treating Sakura as the biggest victim in the story is just..... too much.
If op doesn’t act like the aforementioned people then we’re cool, none of these were an attack on them as a person. Just towards the hypocrisy in sns fandom as well as the ridiculous claims by Sakura stans. I’m tired honestly. I’m not going to pretend I haven’t seen the same stuff for years and years.

Ok please if you don’t mind saying - who is Stuart semple and what did he do? I’m so confused. Like I recognise the name and I think he might the an artist or something but I have no idea
He is indeed an artist! He’s a English multidisciplinary fine artist best known for his ongoing beef with English sculptor Anish Kapoor over the 2016 exclusive licensing on the process to make Vantablack colour coating, which meant Kapoor was the only artist allowed to use it. Then Stuart Semple made Pinkest Pink pigment and said it was available to everyone but Anish Kapoor, and there was a big blowup which there’s a lot of documentation of - it was very memed.
Since then, Semple has made a bunch more pigments, most of them with the available-to-everyone-but-Anish-Kapoor disclaimer, and the beef periodically flares up, although I will say as time goes on it seems to me to have got increasingly one-sided given that Kapoor has pretty much wandered off.
(I’ve used several of his colours, btw. Pinkest Pink is pretty good. Blackest Black, his attempt to make the blackest possible paint (as opposed to Vantablack which is a nanofibre coating) I was pretty disappointed in, I’ve honestly had better light capture from mid-range art shop paints. His other pigments vary in quality - some I really liked, some I was meh on, but I think Blackest Black is the only one I was actively unimpressed by)
Anyway. Where I come in is much less exciting.
A few months ago I reblogged a post on Tumblr asking about Semple from a discourse tag (my reblog did not tag or @ anyone), and I made a glib comment where I said (very truthfully) that while I thought he was pretty decent at pigments, both his paintings and his online persona came across pretty adolescent to me.
so it turns out Stuart Semple is an inveterate name searcher (hi Stuart if you’re reading this!)
(Side note: I actually should have guessed this from 2019 Twitter when he saw and commented on an untagged thread I wrote about him and Kapoor’s beef (which was because I’d seen an article in which Kapoor, a British-Asian man, said that the racist Prevent strategy was liable to drive young British-Asian men into the arms of terrorist groups by making it clear their country hates them reblogged on Semple’s account with a caption claiming Anish Kapoor was pro-terrorism, which, while tongue-in-cheek, isn’t a neutral statement for a white person to make about an Asian person and was a pretty phenomenally bad-faith reading of Kapoor’s actual words) and in my thread I pretty much said that when the story had broken, I, like everybody else, had found it very funny and been firmly on side with Semple’s bit, but I felt that a) after a couple of years it really wasn’t very relevant any more and it had started to feel less like Fighting The Power and more like bullying the amount of Semple’s web presence was devoted to talking about Anish Kapoor; b) that it was a shame that Anish Kapoor was increasingly only known as The Vantablack Guy given that I really like a lot of his work and c) that continuing to frame a Jewish person of colour as the Face of the Artistic Elite was a bit weird given how overwhelmingly white the high-end art world is. but I digress. Semple responded to that thread, I don’t really remember what he said, it wasn’t an acrimonious response but it was a bit Oh I Didn’t Do Anything To Tag You?)
so anyway he found my reblog and commented saying ehhh I don’t remember, something along the lines of not feeling like I was being very kind and that he was trying his best. also I think he said I had accused him of being racist? which again the actual Tumblr post literally just said I thought his art and persona came across as juvenile and I think in the tags? I mentioned that I thought it was time for him to step off the Kapoor beef.
then he screencapped my post, including my profile picture and username, and posted it on all his socials with a kind of :( people are so mean on Tumblr :( caption and um
idk if you know this about Being A Public Persona With Tens Of Thousands of Followers but. if you post someone’s identity and say ‘I do not like what this person is doing’ it. can get messy fast.
uh I don’t follow Stuart Semple (see the original post I made) but he commented to make sure I knew he’d posted my post on Instagram and “all my followers like your wig :)” which. according to my partner who did go and look at the time, the Instagram comments were largely about how I was an ugly non-passing trans woman aka “man in a wig” which. throw the whole suitcase out. There were a good few days where I got a lot of angry anons, ranging from ‘stop bullying Stuart Semple!!!!!’ to ‘die in a ditch graphically’ to ‘how can you claim to have opinions on art when You Are On Tumblr’ (I have been a freelance illustrator for 7 years and I have a Masters in art and design) to ‘your art sucks and you’re fat and ugly’ and my personal favourite ‘how can u be cis and use she/her pronouns you dumb snowflake’
(within that furore was a whole branch where someone was like ‘sex worker huh bet you’re bad at it’ and I was like ‘yep! that’s why I don’t do it any more! it’s hard work and it involves a lot of self-promotion and customer skills which I don’t like and am not good at!’ and this was a Whole Thing where they kept trying to insult me (much like today’s anon) about my supposed failures as a Slut Who Is Bad At Sex and I kept going like ‘ok but here’s how that just. doesn’t make sense in reference to what sex work actually is so like, ok?’)
and Stuart Semple and I were also having a conversation which, depending on your perspective I would call his attitude either conciliatory or passive-aggressive, there was a lot of ‘me and my followers would never say rude things about you :) keep up the art kiddo :)’ and being charitable I would say he was trying to be nice while being angry, and to avoid escalating (but with the added context I got later about the wig comment, I think that interpretation of his behaviour maybe. has some cracks?) and ultimately he took down the posts, we had a brief conversation about keeping pet reptiles (apparently he has a lizard) and we left it on, if not good terms, at least peaceable ones.
however I still periodically get messages about it from angry Semple stans. and I’m not sure the argument was resolved, in that I still very much think it’s fair to make criticism, including quite harsh criticism (which I’m not sure ‘adolescent’ is), on art which is put out for public display and enjoyment, and that it isn’t a personal attack to post a criticism of someone’s public-facing work and statements on social media unless you actively target it towards them (for example, @ ing them), and Semple still thinks there’s no difference between a random blog with under a thousand followers criticising a public figure’s work and a public figure with 100k followers on most platforms criticising that blog (out of context - he clipped out the post I was reblogging from and my explanatory tags, and looking at my blog you may notice that 90% of my nuance is in the tags) while giving his followers all the information to find said blog.
(also as multiple people have remarked. if you want to say it’s an unfair criticism to call your online presence immature, being a middle-aged artist who as far as I can tell has a net worth over a million who spends your time name searching yourself in order to get mad at untagged mild criticism from strangers on the internet and share it on all your socials for your followers to join you in Being Big Mad is uhhhhhhh. it uh. it’s not like. not super thin-skinned and immature)
(also also I just googled his net worth and unsurprisingly I can’t find a source on it I’d consider reliable, but I did find multiple articles about him getting in trouble for breach of contract and nonpayment for gallery employees, including two accusations of him writing a big defensive blog post then changing it after a few hours to a very short post saying I LOVE YOU so like idk how true that is but it does seem. consistent with the above interactions.)

I don’t know about the other fanbase, like I don’t even bother, but I like how CTs still accepts other’s outlook even if they don’t fully agree with them and consider it as something that can help broaden their knowledge. Also, I’ve noticed that even if someone doesn’t agree with a certain aspect, in the end they will somewhat come into the same conclusion with no hard feelings, so still they’re on the same boat. Acceptance is very needed in shipping and I just hope everyone will be like this
Hey anon.
Yes, I have noticed this. A lot of times, we’re not always going to agree, even within the same ship. However, I don’t notice as much brutality on the Cloti side. If two people don’t agree, generally they just move on from the conversation. We’ve had many conversations on here where not everyone agrees, but they never end in name calling or bullying. Usually a conclusion is made that perhaps some aspects can’t be agreed on.
The other thing is that it’s generally not over major plot points. We do not ignore the game dialogue or other official source materials. We will correct each other. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Cloti use non-canon sources intentionally or argue that they are canon when it’s easy to find out they aren’t.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
An anti on Twitter actually thought the Ultimania Archive Volume 2 was a magazine and not an official source. There is no arguing with them. They’ll eventually block you and then start taking screen shots of everything you say and making fun of you. They make fun of Cloti artists and they purposely start fights on chains.
That’s not to say the Cloti side is 100% innocent. The difference is, we will usually tell another Cloti that’s getting too over the top to simmer down and ignore them.
You notice I say antis - because the entire CA fandom isn’t like that. It’s a very small group that’s extremely aggressive. The issue I think many have in general with CAs is they don’t call out the really bad ones in their group. Some do, but usually they’re cast aside as fakes and closet-Clotis and ignored... so it’s not like they’ll listen, but it does say something about the person calling them out that they won’t tolerate that behavior, even with their own shipmates.
Tumblr media
But I don’t fully blame the other CAs that are scared to call them out. It’s like when you have a really bad manager at work. Some people are really scared to say anything because of retaliation. Since they’ve seen what those antis do when somebody upsets them, they’re scared. Some of these folks may use their personal accounts for looking at FF7 content and their favorite ship... meaning they have access to enough personal information to cause a problem. They’ve threatened to doxx people, they’ve bragged about getting IP addresses (which does nothing but, the fact they’re trying is weird), and then they openly share screen shots and have a field day ripping people apart. They’ve even attacked minors. These are women in their late 30s.
So I can get it in some cases. However, I think distancing themselves from that group would be the best bet. Even if it’s silently so they aren’t found out. Making noise alerts them and they have multiple alt accounts to spy on people. I know this sounds ridiculous... because it is.
Tumblr media
Clotis also don’t bash Aerith every chance they get. In fact, most Clotis LOVE Aerith - especially Remake Aerith. The things we do have issues with her on are usually from OG and it’s personality traits that aren’t nice. We don’t go after how she looks or twist things she does to make her seem terrible.
Nobody talks about Aerith’s body. Tifa gets constant hate on that side and it’s ridiculous. So does Zack.
Generally Clotis also multiship: For me, I like Aerti and Clack. I think they’re realistic ships. Cloti is my #1, but I love Aerti and Clack as well. That side is very against any type of LGBT thoughts, so this freaks them out. They also will not ship Aerith with anybody else - but will call out Clotis if they think a ship of Tifa x Barret isn’t cool. It’s then racist. Flip it to Aerith and Barret? No longer racist to hate that pairing.
Tumblr media
The delusional behavior is what makes antis what they are. Some of the worst are that Cloud is a frozen ice block before Chapter 8, when clearly they show Cloud softening up well before Chapter 8. It’s very frustrating to fight because you cannot fight delusion. They ignore the other parts of the game that don’t include Aerith - and it’s not Aerith’s fault.
They pretty much ignore Aerith if she’s not with Cloud. SE will post something with Aerith in it by herself and they’ll somehow turn that into a shipping argument. if you post Cloud and Tifa, then it’s on - time to harass the official accounts.
Tumblr media
Then we get merchandise and it turns into a fight because they claimed that the music boxes (lol) were Cloud x Aerith. Ultimately that’s what started the Main Theme vs Cloud’s Theme fight. Nobody cared if it was Cloud’s theme or not, never was an argument before. What started it was them claiming it was a CA thing. So people researched and tried to prove it wrong, and the fights broke out. Most of the time, you’re wasting your breath.
Then add on the blatant lies, twisting of the story and characters, and the bullying, racist, misogynistic comments they make. These antis also aren’t just in the FF7 fandom. They’re in various other ones and act the same way. Somebody actually looked into it recently and said they almost always ship the non-canon ship and act just as nasty about it in other fandoms as they do within the FF7 one.
All in all, it’s best to just ignore them. Don’t take the bait. I’ll defend my fellow Clotis on public posts, but generally we don’t venture over to their personal posts to start... can’t say the same for them.

part four ~ it was them like that ~
(part one) (part two) (part three) (part four)
A/N: I rewrote this part twice wanting it to be perfect readable. I am grateful for every like/retweet: to quote our boy himself “I wish I could shake all your little hands.” Messages/asks are always highly appreciated. Strive to have a good quarantine, and take care of yourself!
Summary: Alex goes to find Sammy at his apartment and is met with an odd reception from Y/N.
Pairing: imallexx x reader
Warning: Language. Minor (Non-Graphic) Injury.
Word Count: 2.6k
Tumblr media
Alex woke to the feeling of incessant buzzing in his hand. It was not a bright morning. With a groan, he opened his eyes – feeling the crust in the corners of them – and looked to his phone in his right hand. It buzzed with silenced notifications, and the screen lit up with banners and alerts. He tried to fight through his exhaustion. There was an odd taste in his mouth; he swirled his tongue around, attempting to produce saliva to little avail.
Propping himself on his elbows, he pulled his phone to his chest and read the lock screen. Nothing it said made sense. When he activated the touch ID, his phone opened to instagram and the last thing he watched before passing out (in his street clothes on top of his bedding). He had been watching an instagram story he was tagged in – even worse – it was George's instagram story.
To his horror, George had posted a solid three minutes of him dancing. Despite the overall low quality of the videos and darkness of the club, it was clear that it was indeed Alex who was throwing his limbs and jumping around erratically.
George had also managed, even in his inebriated state, to post the worst of the videos on twitter. And his followers were going mad. Three hundred retweets, five hundred comments, and at least a thousand laughing-crying emojis in all.
Alex groaned and tossed his phone to the end of the bed.
Getting up was a slow process. He had to stop to ground himself every few steps. While grasping a weak hand on his side table, he picked a pair of black joggers off the floor and replaced his white jeans with them. He moved steadily, grazing his fingertips along the wall as he went to his cupboard, and ripped a shirt from its hanger in an almost aggressive manner. He changed into it.
Eventually, he made it to his bathroom. After splashing water on his face and sticking his head under the faucet for a good minute, slurping the water like he would if he were drinking from a garden hose, he felt better. Alex tossed his hair around with his hand, pulling it forward and down, smoothing the cowlicks. Its slight greasiness was not too noticeable. He huffed, gathered his essentials (wallet, keys, phone) from his desk/bed, and left.
"You up already?" George called from where he sat on the sofa eating cereal. "It's before noon."
"Shut up. I saw your instagram story." Alex stood in the kitchen with a blank gaze debating whether to eat then or later. "You made me look like a complete bellend; I don't appreciate it."
"You wanted to dance! Who am I to deny the imallexx stans their behind-the-scenes exclusive?"
Rolling his eyes, Alex left the kitchen. At the front door, he slipped on the most available shoes there: which happened to be George's crocs (he swears he bought as a laugh but wore all the time).
"I'm going to go pick-up Sammy.”
George snorted and said, "You mean pick-up off the floor, probably."
"Just be ready to film when we get back."
Standing out in the hall, breathing in the fixed smell of wet dog in the carpet, Alex thanked himself for being young enough to be able to near blackout and be just a touch ill in the morning.
It was not a full two minutes between Alex leaving George and him stepping out of the lift onto the floor above. Coming up on Sammy and Y/N's apartment, there was a fleeting regret that he wished he had thought in his morning haze to brush his teeth before showing up unannounced. But it was too late as his hand was raised and rapping on their door.
KNOCK. KNOCK.
Alex watched the door handle jump as it was twisted and pulled on the tiniest amount possible. Just enough for the latch bolt to disengage and reengage so that it rested – holding the door open – against the doorframe. There was no proper greeting. He felt like an intruder having to push on the almost closed door and let himself into the apartment: though invited not necessarily welcome.
Inside it was bright with all available light fixtures on including a scattering of floor and table lamps. There was the sound of a running shower.
To his left was Y/N ducked into her refrigerator. She pushed things around on the top shelf before landing her hand on a carton of eggs. Taking them out, she sat them on the counter next to a mixing bowl. She turned her back to Alex but not before flashing him a tense near straight-line smile.
"Hi." Y/N counted out three eggs from the carton. "Sam's in the shower."
Alex grabbed a bar seat. He rested slouched against the backrest but kept his shoulders square and arms open. Hair fell from his fringe, and he jerked his head out of instinct, flipping the hair out of his face. A bit bedraggled. The chain still around his neck from his night-out. Lithe arms stuck out from armholes three times their size as he drowned in the large yellow crewneck.
It was the same yellow as the one Y/N complimented him on earlier. Not that he recognized it when he was throwing on clothes. Not that he would admit he recognized it.
Y/N cracked three eggs into the mixing bowl with one hand and tossed the shells into the kitchen bin. She stood, her feet set like an arrow, with her toes touching. Next to the mixing bowl was a waffle iron with a red light on top and a baking mix box. She held it up; her mouth moved as she read off the ingredients on the recipe on the back of the box to herself.
Alex forced a light chuckle. "I'm surprised he's up. He was out of it when we dropped him off."
"You all were," mumbled Y/N into her collar. She placed the box down and stirred the contents of the mixing bowl with a fork and a quick hand. Her head was down focused on what she was doing; a little wrinkle formed between her eyebrows.
"You got me there." Alex shifted in his seat, scooching up so he might rest his forearms on the counter. He proceeded to crack his knuckles to occupy his nervous hands. "How is Sammy?"
"Fine."
"He's helping me film a video." Like a smiling dog promised and expecting a treat, Alex straightened up in his seat. He searched Y/N's side profile for a read on her but came up blank.
"Hmm," hummed Y/N letting up on her battering of the waffle batter.
It was evident in how his spine slumped and how he returned to resting on his arms that it was not the reaction Alex expected. The reaction he hoped for was a reaction at all but no such luck.
"I guess he would have told you. I'm a youtuber." Alex added in a stronger voice (as if her not hearing him was the issue), "So is George."
"Uh-huh." Polite in tone but nonetheless dismissive.
"I was hoping you'd text me, then I'd have your number as well."
Y/N gave no response. Her eyes were clouded and distant. Leaving the batter to sit, she crossed the kitchen and pulled open a drawer of miscellaneous utensils. While she searched for what she wanted, the fingers of her non-dominate hand drummed a rhythm against her hip.
"Did I do something wrong?" asked Alex.
"What?"
"Was it last night? Did I do something to offend you? I was trashed." He spoke plain, hiding the hint of hurt in his voice. His open palm-up hands moved in a series of give and take type gestures.
His bit of babbling grabbed Y/N's full attention. She pulled her focus up, from her search in the utensil drawer to Alex's face. Her hesitant gaze stopped at his mouth and nose before going further up.
Their eyes met. Alex felt a surge of warmth rushing upon him: a warmth he could lie in forever. Die in. So even his bones might one afternoon be exposed to it. It was clear at that moment (as if it was not before) that being around Y/N was not something Alex knew how to handle or react to.
There was an undeniable switch in her gaze – a moment of real recognition – and if eyes could talk, hers would have sighed and happily said, oh, it's you.
Alex reiterated, "I promise I don't remember a thing."
"Sorry, Al." (a pause like she did intend the nickname but then thought it inappropriate) "Sorry, Alex. It's not you. I just have a lot I'm thinking about."
"You don’t have to apologize; I was just a little worried is all." He relaxed, dropping his hands, letting them fall to his lap.
"You're sweet. Thank you." Her hand settled in the utensil drawer; she pulled out an ice cream scoop and held it at an odd angle. Fiddling with the lever as if checking it worked. It did. Y/N turned her back to him once more to place the ice cream scoop on the counter with the mixing bowl. She picked out the fork from the bowl and continued stirring the batter.
Sore from slouching and general aching muscles, Alex stood from the bar seat and stretched.
"You make a lot of breakfast foods, huh?" he asked as he stood with solid feet and twisted at the middle as far to his left as he could; he twisted to the other side as his spine screamed at him. "Is that your favourite then?"
"Why? Got something against breakfast?"
"I like buttered toast as much as the next—" Alex was distracted mid-thought when he lifted his foot and put it down again to the sound of a quiet crunch. Light speckles of paint dotted the floor, and when he lifted his foot, under it was a small chip of plasterboard.
"Toast, you said? How extravagant!"
A framed picture was stuck on the wall nearest Alex: one he did not recognize as being there before, but half the apartment was not yet unpacked when he last was there. How bad could you screw up your wall hanging something? He pulled on a bottom corner of the frame and peered behind it.
It was a fine hanging job. There was just a fist-sized hole in the plasterboard wall. And the framed picture was covering it.
Y/N glanced over to him. "That's nothing – just a little accident from last night. Could thank George for that if you like."
"George did that?"  He exclaimed, reeling as if he were about to faint. Alex made a fist and compared it to the hole. George and him about matched in height – matched hand sizes. While the hole in the plasterboard could eat Alex's hand.
Y/N's face dropped as she rushed to correct herself, "No! Not at all."
"You scared me," the words rode out on his bated breath. He put the framed picture back in place, moving to retake the bar seat.
"Sorry, I shouldn't have said it like that." Y/N gave a shallow shake of the head.
"What did happen?"
"Oh," she sounded exhausted, "Sam got angry because George was teasing him about something."
"What was it about?"
"I couldn't understand it. None of you lot were making sense," she said unconvincingly
"Come on, Red."
And there at his words or in reaction to the strange atmosphere Y/N rolled her left shoulder back and, when it returned to its natural resting position, she twitched. Her head turned forty-five degrees to the left, and her chin lifted so that her cheek was parallel to the ground for about half a second until her muscles relaxed, and she stood regular. Y/N spoke soft, "I don't know."
"Well, Sammy must have said something. Or George."
"Stop." Y/N spoke clear and stern, throwing her voice despite not facing him. "You were all giggling like idiots and piss drunk. Ok? It was bound to happen."
Atop the waffle iron, the red light switched to green. Y/N tilted the mixing bowl toward herself and grabbed the ice cream scoop. She stirred it around the bowl. Her elbow lifted from her side in the motion. It was shaking. She was shaking. Trembling – even if just a small amount.
"Ok," Alex said without thinking.
The ice cream scoop gathered the golden batter. It would have looked delicious if his stomach was not so knotted.
Lifting the waffle iron lid, Y/N poured the batter in a circle from the outside-in, when the lid dropped, snapping shut on two of her fingers. "Ow! Shit."
She raced to the sink: turning it on to its coldest setting: she kept her hurt hand at a distance. Her free hand grasped her inner elbow supporting the extended arm. As the water bathed her burnt fingers, Y/N stood bent over with her head tucked under her arms and muttered a string of curses.
"Fuck. Are you alright?" Alex rushed around the counter. "Did you break them?"
"N-no. No." She was stuttering through distressed gasps.
"Red, it's not great." Alex laid a hand on her shoulder and another over her free hand on her arm. He felt her continuing to struggle for breath and start a self-soothing type rocking on her feet – not about to give in to the panic. "It’s not great, but you got to calm down. Follow me."
He pulled his lips in and inhaled a slow breath as if through a straw, exhaling it just the same. It took ten seconds of him doing the exercise on his own before Y/N began to follow. And it was them like that. And it was nice – given the circumstances.
Both their shirts were damp from the splashback of the running sink.
Half a minute passed. Y/N had not gained her complete composure, but her breathing evened out, and her muscles relaxed enough that Alex had to reposition himself to support her as she leaned into him slightly.
"Thank you." It was audible though her chin was still tucked to her chest.
"It's alright...I can't cook either."
She laughed a short laugh. "You were lying earlier?"
"I know, pretty believable."
Sammy walked in from the master bedroom: shirtless with his wet hair dripping water onto the floor: and his eyebrows knit together in immediate confusion and concern. Set in action, he rushed over to the kitchen and pulled Alex off Y/N (sending him stumbling over himself to regain balance). At Y/N's side, he turned off the sink and took hold of her hands, avoiding the burned fingers.
"Red. What did you do?" he asked.
"It's alright," she assured, and it was, as most minor burns are after a few seconds under cold water.
Alex was frozen in place – watching them – reconciling his protective instincts with his disorientation. And despite where his eyes landed in physical space, he was far off in another place in his mind.
Staring at him with a skewed frown, Sammy asked, "What are you doing here?"
"I'm– I was going to pick you up to film."
"Right." He straightened Y/N and himself up to be standing. "I'll be up in a bit."
It took a moment for the command from Alex's brain (move) to reach his legs. In that time, he stole a glance at Y/N whose face canvased a flustered blush. She smiled. A metaphorical dart whizzed around his head, striking a metaphorical bullseye, and producing a singular thought.™
He wished he could go back to about twenty-three lines ago. To when she was leaning on him.
Alex smiled a reassuring smile in return and shuffled out of the apartment. Two steps from the closed door, he heard Sammy say to Y/N in a hushed voice, "I’m here for you, Red, but you should have known better."

Not to sound like the joker™️ but i hate western society. I know that hair and clothes aren't gendered, so do most of my mates, ive been working hard at unlearning the internalized transphobia that's just a part of being trans in the UK and actually ALLOWING myself to think about going on hormones and dressing in ways other than "ambigious as possible" despite the fact im non-binary
i grew myself a little mullet because ive not been working in the pub and wanted solid snake hair, ive allowed myself to look at my face and the long hair around it and not despair because i know that longer hair doesn't make me a woman, but the moment you go into a shop, or get takeaway or pass by people in the street its all "move out the way of this lady!" and "thank you, ma'am"
i dont want the gender option of 'other' on my ID i want to know 1 good reason why gender should be listed on an ID in the 1st place
ive just come back from the range and i had my hair up like some e-thot fuckboy, i had to go BACK to the range because they got my click and collect order wrong so ive got two members of staff looking over my order, im dressed in black jeans and a black masc-looking ripped shirt, mask covering half my face and as the manager's showing the kid who served me the receipt they go "oh I served that guy earlier" and the manager corrects them "its a lady". I say "im niether" and they both just stare at me like im a toddler. Im already panicking because the air feels the same way it did when some cunt came after me in the pub toliets. "dont worry about it :)" i say, they both turn back to the tills and completely ignore me.
Anyway, micro-aggressions, ive experienced a lot of them for many reasons over the course of my life and today ive decided to snap.
Not at the people in the range like, just in general.
I will never pass. That's just an element of trans euphoria i will never get to experience. Not right off the bat, anyway. Not where i live, and most likely not in my lifetime. Maybe for kids in LA or Brighton, and hey power to you guys man im happy for you, but people assume or guess m/f when they look at me and they will never get it right.
So when i see people on this site try and twitter etc rank "who's the most oppressed"™️ like a godamn smash bros tier list it blows my mind because of all the things you could spend your days doing thats what youre expending energy on?!
You could be the exact same age, race, sex, gender, sexuality, you could have the exact same disabilities, mental health conditions and money in your bank as another person on this site and you'd still never understand what they've been through. Our experiences, our families, our morals and lives are always gonna be different and the moment you try to write definitive rules on whose got it worse you've already lost and you're already wrong. Oppressed classes are not a fucking hivemind and pretending they are is only going to cause you more problems. I get the strong sense that some of you looked at the word intersectionality, went "ah yeah, i know what that means" having never read up on the matter, then proceeded to play the pain olympics.
And its creating a culture where kids feel the need to spills their souls online to justify living their lives!
You've not listed your disabilites in your bio so you're able-bodied. You're Irish but haven't listed your race so you're white. You're cis man so you've never played with gender and suffered as a result. You're asexual so clearly you're a cringeworthy baby who's never experienced a wrong-doing in their life.
The reverse is true too, if you list every aspect of yourself then you're automatically honest. The more opressed you are the less likely you are of causing harm to others. Psht, don't have a carrd in this day and age? What are you, a fraud? cishet white man playing make believe? Post a selfie or face the wrath of ozymandaus. What's privacy? It takes me 3 minutes to read the bio on this discourse side-blog so clearly they're an angel.
my mam abused me for years, she did the same to my brother when i left home at 18 and my dad drank himself to death. My nan, his mother, never believed me because my mam's a disabled woman with a lot of trauma, and at 14 how do you explain to the woman who takes you to the beach that it's WORSE because as she's beckoning you to the side of her bed so she can scream point blank in your face, or hit you, you're never truely sure, you're thinking about running away because of course she physically can't chase you but she can throw. And then where would you go if you did buggar off?
"You have to sleep sometimes" she used to say to me when I'd piss her off. Other days she told me horror stories about kids in care, and disabled people having their kids taken away, made me promise that I'd always love her and always be her baby, and I'd do that for her because she's my mam, she'd be satisfied then ignore me for a while. I grew up thinking that was entirely normal until i'd tell funny family stories at school and nobody would laugh. The closest I got to truely running away was when I changed my name and pronouns and her rejection, turned to vitriol one night and I so, so, nearly held a knife to my throat and simply fell forwards in the uni showers. Obviously I didn't do that.
But she's had a shitter life than me thus far so she's in the right, as the online black/white dichotomy states. I keep her at arm's length but I'm unable to cut her away without losing the rest of my family because I dared defy the role of eldest child and care for her as I've done my whole life, as is expected.
we need to take things on a case by case basis, and learn when stuff is none of our business.
"Hey! :) I see you've reclaimed (X) slur, without submitting the proper paperwork. Real quick tell me every trauma you've ever experienced or I'll write a callout post :) delete this anonymous message (as is your right) and i'll assume you as sus ❤"
you can only call yourself a dyke if on your 13th birthday, the moon's tender rays struck you through your bedroom window and gave you your first wet dream about girls.
Great, cool. I have no interest in calling myself a dyke, i cant call myself a lesbian because it makes me dysphoric, thats why im queer, but i can assure you that when 3 kids from catholic school pinned me under the bridge and threatened to cut me open for being a "dirty dyke tramp" they didn't play 20Qs with me first to check that i was actually a lesbian.
if your first thought is "well thats just misdirected homophobia, so youre not ACTUALLY a victim" log the fuck off and consider what's wrong with you. Because all our oppressors care about is sniffing out the wrong on you and beating it out, they dont care what breed of wrong it is.
so you're going to spend your day, the enlightened adult that you are, frothing at the mouth because some 15yr old dared call themselves butch despite them being OnLY a BiSexUAl? You're gonna say that trans woman deserves to be suicidal because yes she may be trans BUT she's from the UK, so clearly she loves her horrid country and government. You're gonna say that black lad deserves racial abuse because he's trying to focus on his studies rather than go to protests. That 19yr old who's living in poverty deserves it because they work for Amazon. Texans deserve to freeze to death because there are republicans in Texas.
You're going to harass a complete stranger coming to terms with the parts of themselves society has taught them are worthless at best because they're not doing it the way YOU think is right.
This post has not ended where I started it but I really dont care:
Some of you are so fucking desperate to be the bullies you never got to be in secondary school and it shows. But you're cowards. You can't just admit you want to divide and concur so you do it in a new woke way and when your time on this earth is done, you'll have commited the same pain that's been dealt to you and wonder why you died miserable in a world thats more or less the same.
okay to reblog but dont @ me for a debate because i have, like, real problems and will just block you

Women’s groups and prominent feminist figures have remained almost universally silent over a former staffer’s accusation of sexual misconduct against former Vice President Joe Biden—including those individuals and groups who came to express regret for how the Democratic Party handled similar accusations made against President Bill Clinton in the 1990s.
The collective non-response from mostly Democrat-aligned groups comes as potential female running mates struggle themselves in responding to the Biden allegation, which has the potential to upend his campaign against President Donald Trump, who has been accused of sexual misconduct by dozens of women in alleged incidents spanning decades. And it echoes the division among progressives when the #MeToo movement revived scrutiny of Clinton’s own alleged sexual misconduct.
The Daily Beast contacted 10 top national pro-women organizations for this story, including Emily’s List, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, NARAL Pro-Choice America, and the National Organization for Women. Most organizations did not respond to a detailed request for comment about the allegation by Tara Reade, a former staff assistant in Biden’s Senate office who has accused the former vice president of forcibly penetrating her with his fingers in the early 1990s. Others replied and did not provide a statement.
One prominent women’s political group cited a scheduling conflict and asked to be kept “in mind for other opportunities!” When pressed if the following day would work better, an associate said it would not, citing another scheduling conflict.
The near-total lack of acknowledgement from nearly a dozen leading pro-women organizations comes as new corroboration has emerged with respect to the allegation, which the Biden campaign has categorically denied. Neither the Biden campaign nor Reade responded to requests from The Daily Beast for comment Tuesday.
It also is taking place as prominent elected women in the Democratic Party rally to Biden’s side. On Tuesday, Hillary Clinton became the latest to offer her endorsement of Biden’s candidacy—a symbolic passing of the torch from one presidential candidate to another, but a moment that also served as a reminder of moments in recent party history when accusers were almost uniformly dismissed.
In 2017, attorney Patricia Ireland, who served as president of the National Organization for Women for the entirety of the Clinton administration, told The Washington Post that she wished she had “done more to be supportive” of Paula Jones, the former Arkansas state employee who alleges that Bill Clinton sexually harassed her during his time as governor.
“For Paula Jones, there were nice distinctions that people made: She didn’t work for him, he didn’t have the power to hire or fire her,” Ireland said at the time. “But that ignores the reality that he was a very powerful man.”
During the same period, feminist icon Gloria Steinem told The Guardian that she regretted some parts of her aggressive defense of Clinton during the Monica Lewinsky scandal, including a New York Times op-ed in which she dismissed accusations of sexual misconduct against the president. “Even if the allegations are true,” Steinem wrote in the 1998 op-ed, “the president is not guilty of sexual harassment. He is accused of having made a gross, dumb and reckless pass. President Clinton took ‘no’ for an answer.”
Steinem told the Guardian that “I wouldn’t write the same thing now because there’s probably more known about other women now. I’m not sure… What you write in one decade you don’t necessarily write in the next.”
But neither Ireland nor Steinem responded to a request for comment about Reade’s accusations against Biden. Bill Clinton has long denied Jones’ claims, settling a lawsuit she filed in 1998 for $850,000 with no apology or admission of wrongdoing.
Speaking to Fox News on Tuesday, Reade accused Hillary Clinton of “enabling a sexual predator.”
“Hillary Clinton has a history of enabling powerful men to cover up their sexual predatory behaviors and their inappropriate sexual misconduct,” Reade said in response to Clinton’s endorsement. “We don’t need that for this country. We don’t need that for our new generation coming up that wants institutional rape culture to change.”
Reade first accused Biden of digitally penetrating her in a podcast interview with journalist Katie Halper in March. Two other people, including Reade’s brother and a friend who has remained anonymous, told various outlets that Reade had told them about certain aspects of the alleged assault and her subsequent dismissal from Biden’s office over the years.
On Monday, Business Insider quoted a former neighbor of Reade’s recounting that the ex-staffer had disclosed details of the alleged assault when she lived next door to her in the mid-1990s. “This happened, and I know it did because I remember talking about it,” Lynda LaCasse, Reade’s former neighbor, told the outlet.
On April 24, Reade told The Intercept that her mother called into Larry King’s cable-news program to discuss “problems” her daughter experienced with a prominent lawmaker in 1993. In the episode, a caller from San Luis Obispo, California—where property records indicate Reade’s mother lived at the time—asked the host “what a staffer might do besides go to the press in Washington.”
“My daughter has just left there after working for a prominent senator and could not get through with her problems at all,” the caller said. “The only thing she could have done was go to the press, and she chose not to do it out of respect for him.”
Reade said on Twitter that it was her mother’s voice. “This is my mom. I miss her so much and her brave support of me.”
Biden’s defenders have argued that Reade’s story has changed over time—she previously had said only that she felt Biden had inappropriately touched her and made her feel uncomfortable. But sexual-assault victims’ advocates have noted that its common for victims to hold back on details as they recount their traumatic experiences.
Various aides to Biden have said they have no recollection of any assault incident happening. And Biden’s deputy campaign manager Kate Bedingfield said in a statement this month that “this absolutely did not happen,” and that “Vice President Biden has dedicated his public life to changing the culture and the laws around violence against women.” Bedingfield added: “He firmly believes that women have a right to be heard—and heard respectfully. Such claims should also be diligently reviewed by an independent press. What is clear about this claim: It is untrue.”
Over the past several days, the Biden campaign has signaled that it is paying additional attention to issues that disproportionately affect women. On Monday, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), one of the contenders thought to be on Biden’s shortlist of potential running mates, was a guest on a virtual town hall with black leaders on coronavirus’ impact on women of color. Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), another possible running mate and former Biden rival, was also featured in a virtual forum addressing similar women’s focused issues late last week.
On Tuesday, in introducing Clinton during a virtual town hall, Biden declared she is “the woman who should be president of the United States right now.”
“I want to add my voice to the many who have endorsed you,” Clinton said during the event to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on women. “This is a moment where we need a leader, a president, like Joe Biden.” Biden, she said, has been “preparing for this moment his entire life.” The former vice president reciprocated by saying it was a “wonderful personal endorsement.”
On Monday, in offering her own backing, House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi called him a “partner for progress in the White House.”
Four years ago, women’s groups threw their weight behind Clinton’s historic campaign as the Democratic Party’s first female nominee. But they remained largely out of the primary in 2020, when an unprecedented number of women campaigned with that similar goal in mind. Still, some groups haven’t been shy about criticizing parts of Biden’s past record relating to women.
In the early stages of Biden’s campaign, Planned Parenthood Action Fund took issue with a position he previously held around support for the Hyde Amendment, a provision that sought to restrict the use of federal money for abortion. In June 2019, the group’s executive director specifically called out Biden by name, reminding him that “the Democratic Party platform is crystal-clear” around repealing Hyde. Biden later denounced his support of the amendment.
Now, as Biden faces a sexual-assault allegation as the presumptive nominee, his past record and prominent female defenders are facing a new round of scrutiny. In particular, the decision to select a female running mate delighted many party activists and women’s rights advocates when Biden announced it in March, but is taking on a new form as the Reade allegation receives additional corroboration.
Already, potential nominees are having to answer questions about the allegation. The Daily Beast recently contacted the most prominent figures thought to be considered as possible contenders about Reade’s claim, including Harris, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), and former Georgia House Minority Leader Stacey Abrams.
Among the seven Democratic women’s offices reached, only Abrams commented, telling The Daily Beast that “women have the right to be heard” and adding, in part, that “nothing in the Times review suggests anything other than what I already knew: That Joe Biden is a man of highest integrity who will make all women proud as our next president.”

Here We Go Again (its a long one)
You know in school when they said “ignore the bully and they’ll go away”? Yeah, that’s a load of bull. It never worked in the school yard and it clearly doesn’t work on SM either.
It’s come to my attention that this guy is at it again, accusing me of another secret identity (seriously, I can’t make this shit up). As if I have time to have kids home 24 hours a day for months, run a household, make videos, and still have a SM presence AND keep track of secret identities??? I mean, it took me 2 days just to find the time to write this. I should be flattered they think I have impressive super powers. I’m not going to focus much time on that, I mean, he’s been proven wrong the last time, he said it about me and my sis before and we proved them wrong. They said they had the IP dress of the person “pretending to be Jess” so my sis offered her’s up proof on twitter for the whole world to see, and they didn’t come back with anything because they don’t have anything, and when Jess posted pics of her place, it’s proof she’s lived in Europe and we don’t, also Bernie-whatever-her-name-was attacked me and my sis on SM and even her friends told her to step back form us cause they knew it wasn’t true-oh yeah, and she’s been blocked off Twitter because of her vile harassment. If there was any sort of proof that I have another SM identity, show it, but you can’t, cause there is none. I’ve never been into crazy conspiracy theories. Most people with 2 brain cells aren’t.
Everyone knows I used to be a shipper. That was never a secret. I never hid it and I never cared to. I shipped from 2015-2017 or 18 ?-whenever the video of Sam and Cait came out saying they weren’t together. I was never an extreme shipper by any definition at all.
So first, it’s important to define what an “extreme shipper/troll shipper” is as William Shatner (WS) has said…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I totally agree with him.  I am also FULLY!!!! against doxxing (yes, you know who you are)
Now look at any of the tweets that this guy has shared of mine?  Did I once do anything WS defines as extreme? Nope! Even in 2016, I said I “HOPE” they would get married one day. That is the definition of a “wishful shipper” NOT an “extreme shipper. Nice try guy. Notice all the dates are form 2015, 2016 - 4 to 5 years ago!!!! OMG it’s beyond ridiculous.
Tumblr media
Therefore, I’m not an extreme shipper. In fact, I challenge anyone to find ONE tweet, comment, ANYTHING that I have sent to Sam/Cait their SO, or anyone involved in the cast and crew-guess what, you would never be able to because I never have-not once.  Theres a lot more about this bullies lies below
Here’s another thing, I’m am not a WS fan, he does his thing and I do mine. I don’t care much either way. If he wants or anyone wants to believe crazy proven wrong conspiracy theories, go right ahead. People who know me don't believe the lies and anyone who does I just don't care about.
BUT I will defend his and other’s right to defend themselves when they’ve been attacked
Tumblr media Tumblr media
See, I even blocked this person who kept insisting I was wrong for defending WS.
Now to this tweet by Nancy, sure, seems “nasty” BUT what I find interesting is how this guy takes EVERYTHING out of context. This tweet is in response to an Anti-shipper meme that was making its rounds around SM to shoot shippers (before Sam and Cait’s denial video) Now, as I said with WS, everyone has the right to defend themselves if they’ve been attacked. And being threatened to be shoot someone is very extreme. But hey, there are some antis that are very extreme and are trolls. And I don’t confuse them with regular respectful antis or NTS
Tumblr media
I couldn't find the meme, but this is the pic and they wrote that they would shoot us if we said Sam and Cait were together. Talk about extreme.
Tumblr media
This one actually made me laugh!!::: this guy says:
Tumblr media
The guy admits he has no idea what I’m talking about, but somehow uses it as an example of “extreme shipping” (how one can square THAT circle is beyond me-if you don’t know what I’m talking about, how is it extreme?) What’s most interesting is that that tweet is talking about a video that non other than his friend WS shares of NANCY talking about being a respectful shipper (you know, not sending Sam and Cait and their SO hate, doesn’t mean you have to like them, but don’t send them hate, the key-don’t send them hate!). The video was taken down with our YT page, you can type the link into your browser, and see that it isn’t there anymore.
Here is what I was responding to; you know, what rational people call “context”:
Tumblr media
he even thought it was funny that Nancy called him “Shitner” because in the video she mentions stands AGAINST attacking him
Tumblr media
Oh! and this LOL:
“Here’s Nancy tagging Julia on a meme of calling Anti-shippers cows.  I didn’t notice Juila disagreeing”
oh my. She isn't calling antis cows anymore than Joey is calling Monica a cow! Its a line from friends about OPINIONS and how their moot vs. what Joes thinks “moo”! Goodness gracious. And me not responding means what? You know, it likely means that I didn't see, cause this is one of my favourite lines from Friends LOL Are you tired of being wrong yet?
Tumblr media
Let’s move on to this “ship on” tweet. Oh yes, LOL Again, doesn’t meet WS’s definition of extreme. But also, let’s see what the Straz exec says during the time I wrote this tweet.
Tumblr media
“”fun kind of fantasy world...go on with your bad self”...so yes “Ship on” was in line with what the Starz president said. If it’s aggressive or harassment, then its an issue, Again, non of my tweets were aggressive or harassing.
Let’s see what Cait has said about what crosses the line.
Tumblr media
Did I do what they define as “crossing the line”? Nope! Nothing abusive towards anyone from me and definitely NOT anything sent to Sam/Cait or any one associated with them.
There is nothing wrong with shipping properly. Even Elle magazine is a cute shipper article after Sam and Cait went public about not dating.
https://www.elle.com/culture/celebrities/news/gmp30165/sam-heughan-caitriona-balfe-outlander-pictures/ ).
Are you going to now accuse Elle magazine of harassment? Please. I agree with WS, it’s when it gets into harassment of them that it’s a big problem. And I’ve never once done that. I’ve been incredibly vocal against it.
That’s what I find so hilarious about this. All my tweets form when I used to ship fit perfectly with WS’ own definition of respectful shipping AND Cait's, as well as the Starz exec during the same time period! How on earth is the extreme?? Well, its not.
Here’s another one he shared-of course out of context again LOL, but here's what I was responding to
Tumblr media
Again, I was not rude to this anti troll at all, even though she did insult me. Again “ship on”...there is nothing against shipping as WS, Starz, and Cait has said, harassment is wrong.
Now, I came into shipping in 2015, I used to follow Puffy but stopped when she sent Sam and Cait hate. So why bring out a tweet with me laughing in response to something she and Nancy said is beyond me. I mean, if it would prove I was an extreme shipper, then he would have shared the whole context right? But he didn’t so I guess it doesn’t. I can’t even find that tweet myself to put the context up.
The tweet about stalking? Yeah, I’m against stalking-always have been. Somehow that makes me an “extreme shipper”??? I’m against calling hotels to see if Sam’s there and who he’s with-you know who you are. I’m against standing outside people’s apartments to spy on them. I’m against taking pictures of people on the beach and trying to pass it off as Sam-ahem…you know who your are. I’m against stalking where people’s family members are buried (we all know who did this) And, like WS, I’m against doxxing (which extreme antis aren’t). I’m against ANY type of stalking.
So lets take a look at the context about me saying getting sources from stalkers is wrong. In 2016 neither Cait nor Sam had gone public about any relationship then.  So how did they get the information about Cait's relationship for two years (before she even stated Outlander at this point) and Sam dating other women? Sam didn't go public with any relationship until Mackenzie. So any info would have been from “other sources”. Being against stalking is extreme??? Wow. That’s a new one! LOL. And this is the context of the tweet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So really, I challenge anyone to share a tweet or comment or anything harassing/insulting that I have ever SENT to Sam/Cait their SO or anyone in the show. Go ahead! Find one tweet or anything of MY comments that fits WSs definition of extreme/troll shipping. I dare you, go ahead. While we’re at it, any tweet or comment about them lying and being together AFTER their video. Go ahead.
WS is not extreme so neither are my tweets.
This is the BEST he had to offer about me being an “extreme shipper”?? This the the most “extreme” I get?
Seems like a bunch of malarkey to me.
Oh! and here are some other tweets from Nancy and me about NOT sending  Sam and Cait and their SO any hate. You don't have to like them, keep that in your own space,  but don't harass them-ever!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In 2015, intrusive trolls were sending Cait congratulations on her “engagement” to Tony---in 2015! LMAO. Where would they even get this idea? I have no clue, because I never stalked anyone.

Does anyone else have a longtime friend(s) who, if you met them today, you know you would want nothing to do with them? But your lives are so intertwined that the idea of separating seems impossible and terrifying?
I’ve been friends with one of my best friends since I was 16, he was 15 (we’re about 6 months apart). I’m now 32, and he’s 31. So we’ve been friends for over half of our lives. His wife and I are super super SUPER close. My husband is close with them too. We’re at their house at least once a week. We’re the godparents to all 3 of their kids. I address her dad as dad. I refer to her sister as my sister. We’ve lived 5 minutes apart and thousands of miles apart. And we’ve remained close friends.
Now, I’ve known for a couple of years that we’re on the opposite ends of the political spectrum. They’re (relatively) quiet conservatives while I’m an extremely vocal liberal. We’re all aware of this, and we try to keep politics out of our discussions. And when we can’t, we’re all really good at staying level headed and having mature debates. He’s even almost aggressively jumped to my defense when his brother-in-law tried to call me a “bleeding heart liberal sheep.” They’re both extremely and unapologetically pro 2A, and he often has a pistol on his hip whenever I see him outside of their house. He knows that larger caliber guns like the AR make me uncomfortable, and he does a good job of keeping any out of sight when I’m around.
Up until last week, none of this was ever an issue in our friendship. We actually agree on a number of super important issues (abortion rights, LGBTQ+ rights, equal pay, just to name a couple). And I’ve always been extremely non-confrontational, especially with the people closest to me. I was always afraid to rock the boat and make anyone upset with me. But after watching millions of people all around the country and around the world rise up and uses their voices to make change, I’m done being silent. And an incident in town on Monday has forced me to come face to face with an uncomfortable reality.
Some of you may have seen a video circulating around twitter of a protest in Indiana Monday afternoon, where a bunch of armed men lined up along a protest route as an unnecessary show of force to try and intimidate protesters while claiming they were just trying to “protect their neighborhood.” They looked like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Those are my neighbors. That’s my neighborhood behind that fence. Those guns are in houses next to mine and down the street from mine. Hearing that my mom had to drive past these guys to get home and seeing these pictures (long before the video ended up on twitter) put me on the edge of an anxiety attack at work, and that tense, anxious feeling continued long after I got home.
So what did I do? The same thing I always do when I’m upset or anxious. I texted my friend. And she called me, basically giving me a lecture that these guys are just “exercising their rights, just like the protesters” and showing little to no sympathy for my fear.
This morning, more people from our circle were posting an article from the local paper about it on facebook. They, and other people commenting on their posts, were all in support of these men, cheering them on for “protecting our town” and “exercising their rights.” And it made me realize just how out numbered I am in my own circle of friends. It made me realize that I don’t really have any friends in “real life” who share my views, who I can go to protests with and march with and lift my voice up with. It’s just me and my sister. It made me sick and sad and heartbroken. My stomach is still churning from it.
And I have no idea where to go from here. I just feel lost.

The week had been a nightmare for Phasma, who retired to bed with a terrible migraine. It was Tuesday, July 9th.
The last few days had been spent hunting down the mole (or moles) that Hux suspected were operating within FORCE. She’d started by firing trainees and interns, as well as all temporary contract workers. Then it was time to cast a wider net: which employees were most likely to sell confidential information to the enemy? Obviously, employees with two things, access and incentive.
Which departments had access to sensitive files? Legal and Accounting came to mind, as well as the Sales and Marketing departments, to a lesser extent. And of course there were employees who had access by overriding authorization—IT, computer scientists, developers, and certain engineers. Now it became a game of duck duck goose to see who had the guts and the ideological motivation to betray FORCE.
To that end, Phasma spent hours knee-deep in social networks and company email servers tracking various conversations and file uploads. Her goal was to find the right circle—employees who were passionate about leftist political causes, social activism, and global warming. She made a folder for everyone at FORCE with a left-wing bent: registered Democrats, Socialists, 99-percenters, Women’s March organizers, pro-choicers, anti-NRAs, vegetarians, vegans, anti-capitalists, social justice warriors, queers and their allies, first and second generation immigrants, Native Americans, non-Christians and atheists...the list was endless.
Eons later, she had a beautifully organized database that was split between mostly-Republican WASPs (White Anglo-Saxon Protestants) and...practically everyone else. Finally, she had a place to begin digging deeper.
To start, she sent a discreet memo to the potential allies in the first group.
“Following a confidential data leak within the company, we are offering rewards to those who report suspicious behavior. Examples include reporting on colleagues who work abnormally late, finish tasks later than expected, take frequent private calls or smoke breaks, or appear “burned out”. Signs of burnout can include excessive  fatigue, high caffeine consumption, dress code violations such as coming to work with dirty or disheveled clothing, and falling asleep during work hours. We also encourage you to report anyone with obvious signs of mental distress such as nail biting or other nervous tics, excessive smoking or drinking, and aggressive or depressive episodes.”
The memo she sent to the second group of potential suspects was decidedly different.
"The resale of critical business information by an unidentified employee has endangered the well-being of the company. Due to the financial implications of such a large data breach, management is considering immediately eliminating optional employee benefits. Funding for mandatory employee benefits such as health insurance will likely be reduced but not entirely eliminated over the next three months. A wave of necessary layoffs is also being discussed. The only way to prevent the above losses is to mitigate the damage of the data breach. We encourage you to reach out to your supervisor with any relevant information.”
Barely a day later, she had collected all sorts of useful information. Hell, she made a note to follow up with HR. The company was always rife with competition but she hadn’t expected to collect this much dirt on so many other issues. Still, her preliminary results led to one department in particular: IT.
The IT department was a strange conundrum. Half a dozen people had the level of access she was looking for—senior engineers who reported directly to Snoke and Hux, the holiest of the holy. But all of them were Category One WASPs. Why would any of them need to sell secrets to the enemy? The reasons were most likely financial instead of political. Loans, medical debt, kids to send to college, etcetera. She created a separate task force to peel back their personal lives and follow them around the clock.
She smiled. Finally, the Knights of Phasma. No wonder Kylo Ren had such a massive ego, pompous ass that he was.
It proved to be a largely fruitless task. Her agents found no evidence of both access to sensitive information and financial woes in any of the employees’ lives. If anything, their existence was frighteningly monotonous.
That finding narrowed down her list of suspects in IT to one. One Galen Erso, who had been reported by several of his coworkers for insomnia, irritability, moodswings, and borderline paranoia. It was a recurring issue with his supervisors. The man fit the description of train wreck to a tee.
A full background check revealed that he had severely underplayed his technical abilities when he was interviewed. Although he was currently a network engineer, he had enjoyed a long and successful stint as a freelance white-hat hacker, defying some of the toughest corporate security systems and even appearing on the cover of WIRED Magazine. Unsurprisingly, his transition to a salaried job came shortly after the birth of his first child. He didn’t do very much hacking after that, probably embracing the 9-to-5 life to provide a stable means of income for his family. Phasma marked his file with a red sticky note.
She had another suspect, an older woman named Mara Jade who had been radicalized since the last election. Apparently she had participated in all the protests that followed, suddenly posting a steady stream of “urgent climate action” content to her Twitter account. She was a legal assistant with access to several sealed case files. This called for another red sticker.
The tall woman sprayed her face with cool water, observing her own reflection in the bathroom mirror. She had two suspects, out of thousands of employees. What if her instincts were wrong? What if she had overlooked better leads? She only had a few days to carry out this massive task...if she wasn’t careful—or worse, if  the whistleblower got away—Earth Soldiers would be one step closer to winning this trial.
Galen Erso's professional background check had put her on edge. If this guy was a genuine professional hacker, how could she be sure that he wasn’t spying on the contents of her computer as soon as she logged on? He was also a network engineer, after all.
In doubt, she had printed hard copies of all the available information and reimaged her laptop.
The computer now sat uselessly on her nightstand. She didn't dare turn it on again. Yet she continued to check emails from her phone. What difference was there? Could she still be monitored? She would have had to ask the head of network security...Galen Erso. No, she wasn’t about to do that.
In her bag, she carried an unmarked leather folder containing the results of her investigation. She was going to deliver it to Armitage Hux with her own hands, and have Jade and Erso arrested. Both would be under close surveillance until the trial ended. They would have no contact with the outside world, interrogated if necessary. They would crack one way or another.
The most infuriating part of Phasma’s job was driving all the way to Bozeman and back  to retrieve Skylar Ren. Did they really think it was a better idea to waste her time than to have the moron hike for a few miles and take a cab? It took her over fifteen hours to get there, pick up his sorry ass and slap his stupid face, and then another fifteen or so to get back. Almost two days down the drain.
At least they were sure he was a mole. A pathetic loner who wanted to fill his own bank account through blackmail. He made the fatal mistake of biting the hand that fed him. The last she heard, he was somewhere in FORCE’s underground compound, where Hux had no doubt sent someone to take care of him.
Barely able to sleep, Phasma grabbed the suspect folder and emptied its contents on to her duvet. Her fingers slid over the hundreds of pages of emails, photographs and testimonies that she had carefully collected and printed.
She was supposed to report her findings to Hux the next morning, in person. It was too sensitive to do over the phone. She had an appointment in his office at 8 AM sharp.
Ding.
It took a few seconds for her to realize that it wasn't her phone. It was the front door.
At 11 PM?
Heart pounding, she grabbed the handgun that she kept under her pillow, her bare feet cautiously approaching the door. Silently, she glanced through the peephole.
It was Kylo Ren.

Like Taylor Swift, every woman faces a Justin Bieber
By Danielle Campoamor July 3, 2019
(CNN) It's easy to argue that, in 2019, women are more powerful than they've ever been in United States history. A record 117 women won office in the 2018 midterms. A record number of women are vying for the presidency in 2020. The youngest billionaire in history is a woman (Hi, Kylie Jenner!). The number of women CEOs in Fortune 500 companies hit a record high. But even at a time when "something is happening" with women, we're constantly reminded that even the most powerful among us have to fight for what's theirs, whether it be reproductive justice, a seat at the proverbial table, or creative license.
We face a seemingly never-ending onslaught of examples that, in the midst of that fight, women are perceived as rude, angry, manipulative, or petty. And we cannot deny that, far too often, behind these powerful women are men... taking ownership of those women's work.
Over the weekend, Taylor Swift learned her six-album music catalog was sold to a company owned by music manager Scooter Braun, who Swift alleges has been bullying her for years. "Scooter has stripped me of my life's work, that I wasn't given an opportunity to buy," Swift wrote in a Tumblr post. "Essentially, my musical legacy is about to lie in the hands of someone who tried to dismantle it." She called it a "worst case scenario." Swift also accused Braun of urging well-known artists Justin Bieber and Kanye West to direct their ire at Swift, too, pointing to a 2016 picture of Bieber, Braun, and West that Bieber posted on Instagram in 2016, captioned, "Taylor Swift what up."
The reaction to Swift's choice to publicly denounce what she believes to be a calculated sale of her life's work to a man she says she no longer wanted to be associated with was immediate -- and, to anyone remotely paying attention to how women are still treated in the United States, predictable. A Guardian writer described the situation as Swift "reigniting old feuds and giving us some new ones." Bieber responded with a non-apology apology , saying "sorry" for the 2016 Instagram post but then asking what Swift aimed to gain from going public, writing in a new Instagram post, "What were you trying to accomplish with that blog post? Seems to me like it was to get sympathy." Braun's wife, Yael Cohen, also responded, writing, among other things, "Interesting that the man you're so 'grossed out' by believed in you more than you believed in yourself," insinuating in no uncertain terms that if it weren't for him Swift wouldn't be who and where she is today.
In a country whose critics notoriously turn their noses up at music geared toward teen girls and young women, like Swift's, it appears to be painfully difficult for many to resist the urge to label what's happening to Swift as frivolous drama. But this is a powerful woman losing the rights to what she created, to a man she claims attempted to control and hurt her -- an outcome we've seen play out before.
In 2018, pop star Kesha lost her appeal to break from Dr. Luke, a music producer Kesha alleged emotionally abused and sexually assaulted her. Dr. Luke and his lawyers claimed in a lawsuit that her allegations were false and defamatory. While there are obviously differences in Swift's and Kesha's situations, the way Kesha describes hers feels resonant here: "You can get a divorce from an abusive spouse. You can dissolve a partnership if the relationship becomes irreconcilable," said Kesha's proposed countersuit after she lost her appeal. "The same opportunity -- to be liberated from the physical, emotional, and financial bondage of a destructive relationship -- should be available to a recording artist."
Neither of these outcomes, or how these two powerful women in the music industry say they were treated, exist in a bubble. If life imitates art, and vice versa, then they are indicative of the fights women across the country are still facing -- an extension of the foxholes women have been sequestered in for decades and the trenches that divide us. We're still digging today.
Sure, two women -- Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren -- who, according to CNN, are rising in the polls, "each" won their nights of the Democratic presidential debates. But now Harris is the target of 2019's version of Donald Trump's birtherism. And political pundit Stuart Rothenberg asked his 37.3K Twitter followers if Harris was being "too aggressive" during the debates. Some have accused Warren of basically co-opting Bernie Sanders' ideas.
Sure, a woman is the youngest billionaire on the planet, but in 2017 women were paid 80.5 cents for every dollar men made -- black and brown women, and mothers, even less. Sure, we had the #MeToo movement and men like Harvey Weinstein were held accountable, but Louis C.K. recently received a standing ovation at a comedy festival in Brooklyn, and E. Jean Carroll accused the sitting President of the United States of rape (the 16th allegation of rape, assault, and/or sexual harassment against him) only to watch her story go vastly underreported. The President denied her allegations, stating she's "not his type."
As women, we're to blame. We're too aggressive. We just want attention. We don't love ourselves enough. We're manipulative. We're not his type. We're too much. We're dramatic. We're feuding.
And, like Swift, far too many of us are watching what we've worked so hard for fall into the hands of men who seek to control us, whether it be via our legacies, our reputations, our bodies, or our success.
