Asks are OPEN !?
Which of the elves do you think would be into making children's toys? Or pet toys?
I feel like Celegorm might make animal toys with the bones or leather from the animals he's hunted. And I feel like either (A) he enlists someone's help or (B) sewing is a super top secret skill he has and he makes stuffed animals/plushies using furs and skins that he gives to children maybe once or twice a year.
I also think Curufin, Feanor, Celebrimbor, and Rog probably make lots of kids' toys but like maybe more complex since they're smiths.
Beleg (and possibly also Celegorm) I feel like would make some wooden toys, like maybe some trinkets he might carve while wondering the forests.
Idk, I want your thoughts plzzzz 😅🥰😊
Yup, I reopened the intake of questions at the start of October for Kinktober.
Seems like you've already gave the list and I barely need to think lol. I decided to give a twist to your question since the Christmas season is approaching and I thought this would be cute and make sense ☃️☃️ (hope I was thorough)
Let's see who are Santa's little toymakers for this Christmas season ❄☃️❄
Feanor and Nerdanel - they make glass ornaments and he gets Nerdanel to assist him with sculpting. She carves out all those wooden rocking horses and makes little wooden/glass angels.
Celegorm - his toys are more like little bows and arrows, swords and shields for all the little kiddies to play pretend dragons and knights
Caranthir - he's a doll maker (can't change my mind) and knits stuffed bears and plushie. Little cabbage patch dolls with their cute dresses or stuffed ducks and dogs.
Curufin - follows after his father and makes glass ornaments as well. They both are found together crafting alongside Nerdanel. Creating the ideas and she sculpts them.
Celebrimbor and Rog - they both make snow globes and music boxes, or Nutcrackers. The type to design and build those miniature musical carousels or trains.
Turgon and Finrod - DOLLHOUSES. They complete Caranthir's doll collection. When he's finished with designing the dolls, they give them a house to live in and sometimes an entire city. They're probably behind the creation of Lego's.
Beleg - He makes more animal related stuff toys and plushies. Bears and frogs, birds and mythical creatures. In between, he joins Celegorm in the workshop to craft bows and arrows for the little ones.

Chapter Four
Christmas Morning
It is Christmas morning in the Unremarkable House. Mulder has a few surprises up his sleeve for Scully and his little girl.

Mulder looked around at the room and nodded, it was perfect. The table was set and part of the early morning surprise. He smiled, excited to share it all with Scully.
The tree was up in the corner of the room. He had a hard time getting the tree in the house and set in the stand. It did not help to have Scully giggling in the corner, unable to really help, but also unable to contain her glee as she watched him. When he was finally done, he had needed three band-aids to cover his scratches. She had giggled the whole time she helped him, while he kept telling her to shut up. The kiss she gave him when she was finished made him forget about her laughter.
After they had decorated the tree with rainbow lights, Scully had wanted to put popcorn on a string, something she said she and Melissa had tried to do one year. She had laughed as she told him that it had not gone very well as more popcorn ended up on the floor than on the string. She had done a good job this time and it looked nice on the tree.
The wreaths they had gotten from the tree farm were hanging on both the front and side door, and the items they had bought, and been gifted, were scattered all over the house. Their home now resembled a much smaller version of the gingerbread house at the tree farm. They had discovered many things they had not purchased when they unpacked the bags from Howard and Betty.
Snowmen of different shapes and sizes, Santas with happy faces, a gingerbread house with boys and girls to match, wooden animals, nutcrackers, the beautiful nativity scene Scully had fussed over, angels, and numerous tree ornaments. Mulder’s favorite was one inscribed with “Baby’s First Christmas.” On it, was a little snowman family, with rosy cheeks, the baby held close to their faces, all squished close together as if taking a photo. With a black marker, Betty had written “Faith, 2018” in beautiful lettering. Mulder had hung that one first, before any lights were added to the tree, Scully wrapping her arms around him as they looked at it.
Scully’s favorite had made her cry. She had gasped when she found a large snow globe in a box, at the bottom of the bag. Along the base it was white and sparkly, resembling snow. Inside was a little house with trees, and a family of woodland animals gathered together. There was a fox, a rabbit, a bear, and a fawn. Scully cried as she touched the globe with her fingers and then turned it over, letting the snow fall on the animals.
There was a music box inside and when she wound it, it played “Greensleeves.” She cried harder as she softly sang “What Child Is This?” to the tune of the music. Mulder sat next to her and reached for the box that had held the snow globe. Inside was a note in the same flourish styled lettering as the baby ornament. He smiled as he had read it out loud.
“Dana,
While you were here, I went back into the office for more tissue paper and this snow globe began to play a few notes. I thought perhaps you had played it while you were in there, and thought it was not for sale. On the contrary, it seemed to be calling to me that it was meant for you. I can’t explain it, but I feel confident you will understand. It was a pleasure to meet you and your family. Have a wonderful Christmas and I hope to see you again next year.
Love,
Betty”
Scully had sobbed as she held the snow globe in her hands and Mulder wiped away a tear of his own. He knew the importance of snow globes to Scully. The one Jackson had left for her was up on their dresser and she touched it every day.
“Mulder,” she had said between sobs. “I never touched it. I never even knew this was in there. If I had... I would have asked if I could have it.” She had looked again at it and he did too. They were all there, the four of them with the little house behind them.
“Scully,” he had said with a small chuckle. “I’d say it was a touch of Christmas magic.”
She had sobbed out a laugh as she turned it over, and then wound the music box again. She had put her head on his shoulder and they listened to the music play as they watched the snow fall on the woodland animal family that seemed to symbolize them. He had hummed along with the music, putting an arm around her, and kissing her head.
He smiled as he looked at the snow globe, sitting on the coffee table. He looked around again and checked to see if he needed to do anything else. It all seemed to be ready, he just needed to go wake Scully. He glanced upstairs and exhaled. This was going to be the tough part.
He walked up the stairs, his socks making his steps almost completely silent. He walked into their room and saw Scully practically buried in the covers. He laughed silently as he stepped close to the bassinet, looking in on Faith. She was still sleeping soundly.
He turned around and walked over to the bed, kneeling down and getting close to Scully. She was wrapped tightly in the blankets, just her head exposed, hair falling across her face. He moved her hair and smiled as she moaned lightly.
“Scully,” he whispered, putting his mouth close to her ear. “Honey, wake up.”
She moaned again and her eyelids fluttered. He kissed her temple and she moved, opening her eyes, then furrowing her brow as she closed them again.
“Just bring her to me, Mulder. I’ll feed her here,” she said in a sleepy voice. He smiled as she began to shift around to get ready to nurse the baby.
“No, Scully, she’s still sleeping,” he said quietly, stopping her hands. “She is, but you need to get up.”
She opened her eyes and stared at him. Oh, there it was, the infamous Scully look. He knew better than to laugh, but he wanted to so badly.
“She’s not awake and you’re waking me? What the hell? What time is it?” she asked him, her stare burning into him. “Mulder, it’s still dark, what time is it?”
He sighed and her eyebrow went up. “It’s early Scully, but it’s Christmas morning,” he said, letting it sink in for a second. When she did not jump out of bed and run down the stairs, he tried again. “Did you hear me? Christmas morning, Scully.”
She kept staring at him and then she sighed. She began to pull the covers back around herself, but then a hand reached for him. He took her hand and she tugged at it. He grinned and pulled the covers back and lay down next to her as she made room for him.
It was warm and smelled of Scully in her little cocoon. She snuggled close to him and sighed. He held her and closed his eyes, stroking her hair as she hummed.
“You know we don’t have any plans today, we could do Christmas at any time,” she whispered, before she kissed his neck. He laughed and she hummed again, settling against him.
“I know we could, but then it’s not Christmas morning, Scully,” he whispered back. She laughed softly and held him tighter.
“Okay, Mulder,” she sighed. “Okay, but I’m gonna need some things. My robe and a pair of fuzzy socks. You get that ready, and I’ll come downstairs with you.”
He laughed quietly and kissed her head. He disentangled from her and got out of bed. She yelped at the cold air that came in when he got out. He tucked her back in and went to fill her requests. He grabbed her robe from behind the bathroom door and a pair of socks from her drawer.
He went to the edge of the bed and pulled the covers back, exposing her bare feet. She yelped again, pulling her feet back, but he grabbed them and put on her socks. He put the covers back down and then walked to the side of the bed and pulled those covers back. She gave him a murderous look and he stared at her, holding open her robe.
“This better be worth it,” she said as she got out of bed and shivered. He scoffed as he helped her put on her robe and then tied the belt for her. “Can I use the bathroom and brush my teeth before we head down?”
He nodded and stepped out of her way. She walked past Faith and smiled, then yawned as she went into the bathroom. He waited for her by the door, tapping his hands against his legs. Finally she came out, her hair all mussed and bleary eyed. She stopped by the bassinet again and pointed at Faith.
“She’ll be fine. Come on,” he said quietly to her, motioning her over.
She sighed as she walked over to him. He turned and she gasped behind him. He turned around to find her showing him her phone.
“It’s 5:30 in the morning, Mulder!” she whispered through gritted teeth. “She won’t be awake for almost two hours!”
“Why do you think I woke you up now?!” he answered her, waving his arms at her.
She stared at him, her look changing to one not quite so murderous. She sighed and stepped close to him, stroking his face as she put her phone in the pocket of her robe.
“Okay, I get it. Let’s go,” she said with a tired smile. He smiled back and walked to the stairs. She followed behind him and he turned before they walked down the stairs.
“Close your eyes,” he said, looking at her.
“Down the stairs?” she said, raising her eyebrows.
He nodded and took her hand, looking at her. She sighed and closed her eyes. He turned around and began to lead her down the stairs. She held his hand and his shoulder as they walked down the stairs.
“It smells good down here,” she said, sniffing the air. “I smell coffee and cinnamon.” He ignored her and counted the steps instead, as she laughed quietly.
“I know how many steps we have, Mulder,” she said snidely.
“Just trying to be thorough,” he said back to her and she chuckled again as they arrived at the bottom step. He turned and stood in front of her, holding both her hands in his.
“Are you ready?” he asked her quietly.
“Mm-hm,” she said, her eyes closed as her lips curled up into a smile.
“Okay,” he said, letting go of one hand and stepping to her side, holding the other. “Open your eyes.” He watched her face as she did and was not disappointed.
She gasped as she looked around. He watched her eyes take everything in, all the new items in the room. There were white candles of various sizes lit around the room, the coffee table had candy dishes full of treats, the dining room table had a red tablecloth with golden candlesticks, and the tree had more ornaments than it did last night. There were more decorations and he knew she recognized them when she stifled a cry.
She looked at him with tears in her eyes. “Oh, Mulder...” she said, touching his chest as she stepped forward. She walked over to the tree, touching an ornament, then putting out her hand behind her. He walked toward her and took her hand. She locked her fingers with his and touched the ornament again.
“You went to my mom’s house,” she said, tears in her voice, as she lovingly held the ornament in her fingers.
He knew it was her favorite. One year when they had been at her mother’s for Christmas, she had stood by the tree and showed him all the ornaments her mother had saved over the years. The one Scully loved most, she had made in second grade. It was a picture of baby Jesus in the manger. To it she had added a wooden circle and some lace. She had glued the wood over the picture and cut the lace to sit under the wood.
She had told him how she loved it because she was the only one to get that particular picture. He could imagine her as a precocious seven year old, red pigtails, her legs swinging under her desk, happy to have the one picture everyone coveted, as she concentrated on creating the perfect Christmas ornament. She had shown him all her favorites and then smiled at him, stepping back to show him the ugly one Bill had made when he was seven.
She let go of his hand and walked around the tree, looking at all the new ornaments he had added. She laughed and cried in turn as she touched them and told him of their origins. He had heard it before, but he simply smiled and nodded, letting her tell him again of her past.
“I can’t believe you did this,” she said, looking at him and giving him a small smile.
“Worth waking up early?” he asked, teasingly.
She stepped close to him and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him down for a kiss. He held her waist and leaned into her kiss. She pulled back and they rested their foreheads together. She pulled back further and smiled at him. She moved her arms and wrapped them around his waist, her head on his chest.
Her heard her gasp again as she stepped away from him, walking toward the stairs. He smiled as she touched one of the stockings he had hung there, each on a different step.
“Mulder,” she said quietly, exhaling as she did. She turned to him with tears in her eyes and smiled.
He looked at the stockings, one very old, one slightly old and two brand new. Scully’s stocking was the one she had since she was a young girl. Mrs. Scully had purchased one for him years ago and hung it with the family stockings on her mantle. Mulder had hugged her, quietly thanking her as he did. She had touched his face, smiling at him as she went to grab more cookies.
He walked over to Scully and put his arm around her shoulders. She touched the two newest stockings and she sighed.
“Mulder,” she said again, taking the stockings off the holders he had purchased. She looked at them closer and shook her head.
He had gone out to get the tree lights and was contemplating the stockings he had found, when he remembered the ones at Mrs. Scully’s. He bought the tree lights, two new stockings, one for Faith and Jackson, and the holders for them. He made a decision to stop quickly by Mrs. Scully’s house and bring the decorations home with him. He knew where she kept them in the attic, as he had put them away one year. Mrs. Scully had a bad bout of the flu after Christmas and they had gone to check on her. He had offered to put the decorations away while they were there, earning him one of his favorite meals when she felt better.
He had not told Scully he had stopped by her mom’s and brought over the decorations, wanting it to be a surprise. He waited until she was asleep, knowing she would be out for a few hours. He brought the bins in and set up the items he knew she would enjoy. The ornaments, a tree skirt, the festive candy dishes Scully was always sneaking treats from, candles her mother had set up every year, their stockings, the table settings and a few other decorations.
He watched her holding and touching Jackson’s stocking in particular. He had picked a dark blue one with a white “J” on it. Of all the stockings, it had seemed like the one a boy of his age would choose.
“I hope it’s okay, Scully,” he said quietly. “For so long, mention of him was something that hung around us like a black cloud. Something that affected both of us and hindered who we became. I know we don’t want that, but I also never want to cause you any undue sadness. After all that’s happened, I felt it was better to have it than to intentionally not have it. Is it okay?”
She hung the stockings back on their hangers: Mulder’s, hers, Jackson’s, and then Faith’s. She sighed again and wrapped her arms around his waist, his arm still around his shoulder, as they looked at the stockings.
“It’s perfect, Mulder. Thank you,” she whispered, “If we never see him again, I still want it known that he is and always will be a part of this family. I want Faith to know of him. This is exactly what we need.”
She turned and looked up at him, shaking her head. “You continue to amaze me, Mulder. I... I love you so very much.”
She kissed him lightly on the lips and he smiled as she stepped back. He stroked her face and nodded toward the kitchen. She turned her head and looked back at him with a frown. He turned her around and gave her a little push toward the kitchen, smacking her on the ass lightly. She chuckled and walked to the kitchen.
She touched the tablecloth and smiled as she looked at the items on the table. There was a large Christmas platter of Mrs. Scully’s, which she served the turkey or ham on, a green bowl with holly painted on the inside and outside, and a large red bowl with white snowflakes on it. The plates were white with the same holly pattern as the bowl.
Scully looked at him and sighed, shaking her head. He smiled and stepped past her, he took two coffee cups out of the cupboard and poured them each a cup. He opened the oven, grabbed an oven mitt, and took out the cinnamon rolls he was keeping warm. He set them on the table and put one on a plate for each of them. He handed her her cup and plate and motioned to the couch.
She laughed and followed him over, setting her stuff down and then sitting down herself. He set his stuff down and ran quickly up the stairs to check on Faith. He smiled to see she was still sleeping. He had such a desire to scoop her up and bring her downstairs, but he knew Scully would never forgive him, so he let her remain sleeping.
He went back downstairs and saw Scully drinking her coffee in her cozy robe, her feet tucked under her, her hair long and still sleep tousled. He shook his head at how she could possibly be a woman in her fifties. She still looked so much like the young woman who had stood in the pouring rain in a graveyard. She was so beautiful. She looked up at him as he walked down the last few steps.
“She’s still asleep,” he said, as he joined her on the couch.
“Oh, she didn’t wake up and smile at you again?” she asked, her tone snarky.
"No. Maybe later though,” he said, glancing at her sideways.
She shook her head and exhaled. “I can’t believe that I carried her inside my body, pushed her out of my body, and yet she smiled at you first,” she said, throwing up one of her hands. He laughed and after a few seconds she joined him.
On the way home from the tree farm she had turned to him with a grin and said that Faith had smiled at her when she nursed her earlier. Her eyes had sparkled and she was so happy, he decided not to tell her about the waiting room, when Faith had smiled at him.
She knew him too well, though, and she sighed as she looked in his eyes and realized it was not the first smile of the day. She had pouted and not spoken to him no matter how he cajoled her. He knew what would cause her to cave and so he stopped and got them milkshakes. She accepted hers, squeezing his fingers, and smiling at him.
She sighed next to him now, taking a drink of her coffee. He watched her look around the room and he smiled. She caught his eye and she smiled back.
“Mulder, I love what you have done, the work you put into this day,” she said, reaching for his hand. “It’s all so beautiful.”
He nodded, squeezing her hand, before letting go and reaching for his coffee and her cinnamon roll. She took it from him and smiled again. He took her coffee from her and nodded at her to eat. She rolled her eyes and took a bite, eating the rest of it fairly quickly.
He took the plate and handed her coffee back to her. “Should we do presents now?” he asked her excitedly. She choked on her coffee and he stood up as he took a large drink of his own and set the cup down.
“Mulder,” she said, still coughing. He waved her words away and bent down and reached way under the tree and then inside the tree branches as he stood up. He had three gifts in his hands as he walked over to her.
He took her coffee cup again and handed her the gifts. He set her cup down next to his and plopped down on the couch. She was staring at the gifts in her lap and she shook her head as she looked at him.
“Open the small one last,” he said, taking the one he had pulled from the tree and holding it in his hands.
“Mulder,” she began, but he stopped her by tapping the box on top and gesturing for her to get going.
She sighed and unwrapped the box. She lifted the lid, opened the tissue paper, and laughed. He smiled as she picked up the item out of the box. It was a poseable skeleton on a stand. She giggled as she moved the arms and legs around, opening and closing the jaw.
“You’re going to be out of the doctor world for awhile, I didn’t want you to get rusty,” he said, as she set the skeleton on the coffee table, its arms raised to the heavens.
She bonked him on the head with the box before she tossed it on the floor. He tapped the next box and she laughed as she tore open the wrapping paper. The lid came off and the tissue paper opened, but this time she gasped. She took the gift out of the box and exhaled.
“Mulder, this is beautiful,” she said quietly, opening up the blue scarf he had picked out for her. It was the color of her eyes and as she put it on, he was struck again by her beauty.
He helped her adjust it over her robe, holding onto it as he held her still for a kiss. She kissed him back, her hands over his, as they held the scarf. She pulled back, her eyes staying closed, a soft smile on her lips. She opened her eyes and moved her hands to his face. She stared at him, smiling, and then shaking her head.
“I love you,” she whispered, stroking his face.
“No sugar, Sherlock,” he whispered back, making her laugh. He kissed her again and then sat back, reaching for the small gift.
He handed it to her and she took it with a sigh. She took off the wrapping paper and found a jewelry box. She looked at him, and he nudged her to open it. She did and she let out a deep breath.
“Oh, Mulder,” she said looking at the earrings he had picked out. She took them out and held them in her hands. She put them in her ears, looked at him, and smiled.
“So, when I bought your necklace, I also bought these,” he said pushing her hair back and looking at the earrings, then moving her scarf slightly to be able to see her cross. “Knowing we would basically be shut in for awhile, I needed to stock up on gifts. I honestly can’t believe I kept them a secret for the past two months.” She laughed and he smiled.
The earrings were the perfect size. She did not wear earrings much bigger than studs when they were at the bureau, but she chose differently when she was on her own time. He picked out small dangly round opals set in gold. It was not exactly a set, but they very nearly matched the cross necklace he bought. He liked that they were antiques and something someone else had worn and loved. He smiled again and she sighed.
“Mulder, I love these gifts,” she said, her eyes holding his. “But I don’t have anything for you. Nothing.” She sighed again, shaking her head.
He smiled slowly at her and cupped her cheek. Her eyes were anxious as he stroked his thumb across her cheek. He looked at her face and wondered how she could not know, after all this time.
“Scully,” he whispered. “You’re here. We’re here. That’s all I could ask for, or ever need.”
“Mulder,” she began, but he stopped her.
“Scully,” he said, moving his hand and taking hers in his. “Last year, I woke up in this house alone. It wasn’t different than the day before, but it was Christmas. I came down here, the house empty and quiet, and sat on this couch, alone. I know the day didn’t matter, but still. We met for lunch, remember? That Jewish deli? We had a good time, and I wanted you to come home with me. Not for anything other than I didn’t want to be alone, not on that day. But, I did and it felt lonelier than normal. I hated it.”
He looked around the room and smiled. The Christmas tree giving off a wonderful scent, the ornaments both old and new, and then at the woman beside him. He lifted her hands to his lips and kissed them both.
“No gift you could buy could compare to this, Scully. This morning with you, it makes the quiet lonely day from last year worth it,” he said quietly, kissing her hands again.
She pulled her hands from his and wrapped her arms around his neck. She pulled him to her lips and thoroughly kissed him, laying back on the couch, as he settled over her. Her nails scraped at the base of his neck and he moaned into her mouth. She shifted her legs, running her foot up his calf, when they both heard a cry from upstairs.
Her arms slackened and he pulled back from her mouth, his head falling onto her shoulder and into the softness of her scarf as he groaned. She laughed, running her fingers through his hair and her foot down his calf.
He sighed as he pulled back further, kissing her once more before he rose off the couch. She smiled at him before she sat up, taking off her scarf and putting it back in the box.
“Stop standing there and go get our daughter,” she said, taking her phone out of the pocket of her robe, before she took it off and laid it on the couch. She turned some Christmas music on with her phone and looked at him again. “Go, Mulder. She needs to eat and she needs to see the surprises her daddy set up.”
He grinned at her and went up the stairs. Faith had wiggled her arms out of her blankets. Her face was scrunched up and red as she cried. He spoke to her as he got closer, picking her up and shushing her. She quieted down when she realized she was not alone.
He took her in her room and changed her diaper, putting her pink fleece snowflake pajamas back on before he picked her up again. He kissed her soft cheeks and held her to his chest, murmuring his love for her. He closed his eyes as he breathed in her baby scent, kissing her head, before he went downstairs.
Scully was sitting cross legged on the couch, a pillow on her lap, her eyes closed. She opened them when he arrived at the bottom of the stairs. She smiled at him and jerked her head towards the tree. He smiled and walked over, telling Faith about it, showing her the ornaments and the lights. He showed her the candles and the stockings, telling her how next year, hers would be full of toys and yummy treats.
He turned to Scully who sat smiling as she reached out for Faith. He walked to the couch and handed her over. She focused on Scully’s face as Scully spoke to her, lifting her pajama top, and opening her nursing bra. Faith watched her intently before she smiled. Scully whipped her head up and smiled at him before bending her head to kiss Faith’s cheeks.
She got Faith situated on her breast and looked up at Mulder with tears in her eyes. He smiled at her and kissed the top of her head. She looked back down at Faith and hummed along to the music coming from her phone. He watched them and then walked over to the tree as he looked around the house again.
It was cozy and he felt again that feeling of happiness and peace. Yes, the decorations and the tree added to it, but the two people on the couch were the reason he felt this peace. He laughed incredulously and shook his head.
“What’s got you laughing over there, Mr. Chuckles?” Scully asked in a low voice.
He had his eyes on the “Baby’s First Christmas” ornament and again he laughed. He turned to her and she looked up at him, her eyebrows raised. He stared at her, this woman who came unexpectedly into his life, who became the one person he could not live without, who he would go to the ends of the earth for, and who he loved more than anything. He looked at this woman, sitting holding their child as she nursed and nourished her, a modern day Mary, and he laughed, the tears close behind.
He walked over and knelt in front of her. He kept his eyes on hers as he placed a hand on her arm that held their baby. He smiled at her and sighed.
“Reason and Faith in harmony,” he said quietly. He looked down at Faith, stroking her head as she ate. He looked back at Scully and she smiled at him.
She leaned forward slightly and their foreheads came together. He closed his eyes as she exhaled and he responded in kind. Faith’s little hand hit his chest and he took her hand in his fingers. As he leaned against Scully, their daughter’s hand in his, music playing low in the background, he had never felt more complete.
Reason and Faith in harmony, he thought once more, his love for his little family filling the empty places inside him with happiness and light.
_______________________________________________
So.. as always, I love happy family Mulder and Scully stories. I love him doing something to surprise Scully and make her happy. They both are changing and growing, and I love it.
I hope you all enjoyed a look into their first Christmas as a family. I thoroughly enjoy writing these stories. ❤️
Oh.. and the ornament Scully loves best, that she made in second grade? That is MY ornament. I made it when I was in second grade. It’s one of my favorite ornaments and I make sure to hang it on the tree every year. 💕

the Christmas Caryl I wrote for my Caryl Secret Santa @the-space-between1013  I hope this makes you do a happy dance. :D   Merry Christmas!
Looking Up (also on 9L)
The night had turned into an unexpected party, and he blamed Judith.
Michonne, heading to check on those who had perimeter watch before night fell, had asked the girl to rummage through the attic for anything valuable—weapons, old gardening equipment, tools, winter clothes. She’d found a few sundry items: a pair of men’s rain boots, a hacksaw, electrical tape, some rope. And two boxes of Christmas stuff.
That last one seemed completely useless if you asked him, but with Carol’s help, Judith had enthusiastically dragged the large boxes down the attic steps, across the hall, down the flight of stairs to the first floor, and into the living where she unceremoniously pulled every item out, then laid them around her in display.
Daryl had watched surreptitiously from the dining room table where he sat inventorying and cleaning their weapons as Carol, sitting cross-legged in the midst of the holiday paraphernalia, patiently answered every single question Judith threw her way. What’s this do? (A nutcracker.) Where do these go? (A ball of Christmas lights.) Who’s this? (Rudolph statue.) What do you do with this? (Faux mistletoe.) And on and on it went. RJ had come out of his room when he heard the chatter and sat contently in Carol’s lap, playing with a miniature snow globe for several minutes before moving on to the next festive trinket.
“Can we put this stuff up?” Judith had asked excitedly, bouncing on her knees and peering around the room at the adults, her eyes settling on Michonne.
Having just returned home to the festive mess around the room, Michonne had looked at her deadpan but, seeing her enthusiasm, relented, smiling and shaking her head. “Who’s going to help you?”
And that’s how he’d ended up single-handedly stringing Christmas lights around the living room while Carol, Michonne, and the kids decorated the rest of the house.
He heard some commotion behind him, but he kept his focus on hanging the one strand of lights he’d already untangled. Standing on the arm of the couch in his bare feet, he stretched over the expanse of air above the end table to shove a pushpin into the wall and draped the string of lights over it.
Suddenly, music blasted through the air, and he nearly fell from his precarious stance. With one hand against the wall, he shoved himself back upright and stepped down onto the cushion and then the floor as the music—an impossibility—faded to a whisper.
“The he…ck was that?” he asked as his four housemates stood around electronic equipment.
“Eugene made it for me!” Judith enthused. “Now I can hear Christmas music!”
Michonne shrugged at him as Judith bounced up and down in excitement. “Found some music in these boxes, and she has a player.”
He nodded, less than enthusiastic, and plopped down on the couch to start untangling the next string of lights.
“Do you know these songs, Mom?”
“Yeah,” Michonne answered, looking at Carol for confirmation. “Probably most of them.”
Judith turned the music up to hear a man’s voice, low and breathy, sing. She stood listening for a moment before turning it down again and asking, “What’s a blue Christmas?”
Amused at the question, Daryl glanced up from his frustrating task to see Michonne smiling as she began explaining how colors could also describe emotions. His eyes darted to Carol, who’d found a place on the bookshelf for RJ’s snow globe, and his heart clenched.
He didn’t often let his imagination run in domestic circles, but he couldn’t help thinking this was the life she deserved. A warm home with friends and laughter, decorating for the holidays, a soundtrack of festive music, teaching kids about the fun things in life.
Her lightweight white sweater and blue jeans hugged her gently, and the low lamplight filling the room cast an angelic haze around her. He stared unabashedly for a moment, everyone in the room oblivious to him, and his heartbeat kicked up. She looked beautiful, happy. He could count on his fingers the number of times he’d seen her look so carefree.
She must’ve sensed his gaze on her because she suddenly turned her head and looked right at him, a questioning, gentle half-smile gracing her face.
He nodded once and felt his cheeks warming at having gotten caught, then turned back to the wretched ball of Christmas lights in his hand.
“Let’s see what other songs are on here,” Michonne suggested before switching the player to the next song.
A loud pop song, peppy and in soprano, blared from the speakers. “You’re here where you should be/Snow is falling as the carolers sing/It just wasn’t the same, alone on Christmas day.”
Judith started bouncing around. “Come on, RJ,” she called and held out her hands to him.
“Presents, what a beautiful sight/don’t mean a thing if you ain’t holding me tight/You’re all that I need, underneath the tree, tonight,” the woman’s voice rang out as the kids starting twirling around.
“Come on, Daryl!”
He looked up at Judy, stricken, as she motioned for him to join them. He shook his head, holding up a hand to wave her request away.
She took it in stride, bouncing around to face Michonne. “Mom,” Judy entreated, holding her hand out. “Carol?”
Daryl peeked up to see the four of them paired up—Carol and RJ, Michonne and Judith—bounding around, dancing.
“I’m gonna hold you close/Make sure that you know/I was lost before you.”
The lyrics played on, and Daryl couldn’t help watching the merriment in front of him. The kids danced with arms and legs akimbo, bouncing around with pure joy written on their faces. The women too, carefree and having fun, couldn’t restrain their smiles.
“Christmas was cold and grey/Another holiday alone to celebrate/But then one day, everything changed/You’re all I need underneath the tree.”
The music rang around them, the words holding him as captive as Carol did, his eyes never leaving her as she moved freely about, hips swaying, arms leading RJ around, an unadulterated smile gracing her face. She looked stunning, nearly taking his breath away as she floated on her feet.
“I found what I was looking for/A love that’s meant for me/A heart that’s mine completely/Knocked me right off my feet/And this year I will fall/With no worries at all/‘Cause you’re near and everything’s clear/You’re all I need underneath the tree.”
Though she didn’t see him watching her, the lyrics the woman sang made his pulse race. He’d spent so many holidays alone. While other families held parties and exchanged gifts, cooked feasts and lived out traditions, he’d spent most Christmases hiding, sometimes in his room or in a closet, avoiding his old man, or out in the woods away from all other human beings. It’d always felt safer that way…but not anymore.
Here he felt…different. Cared for, safer than he’d ever felt before. Which was saying a lot considering the state of the world.
And much of that was thanks to the angelic woman dancing around with a fatherless little boy. He couldn’t take his eyes off of her, wishing with every ounce of his being that she was his, that the lyrics filling his ears and setting the wishes of his heart aflame told the story of the two of them.
“You’re here where you should be/Snow is falling as the carolers sing/It just wasn’t the same alone on Christmas day/Presents, what a beautiful sight/Don’t mean a thing if you ain’t holding me tight/You’re all that I need underneath the tree.”
Though grateful she was here, he couldn’t help wondering what it’d be like to be with her, to hold her tight. She’d already become the best gift he’d ever received—his best friend, confidant, sounding board, secret keeper, shooting-the-shit partner, protector and defender, and all-around favorite person he’d ever met. He wouldn’t mind adding to the list.
It would likely never happen though. They’d always circled each other, her the moon to his planet, her gravitational pull on him creating influential changes and lighting up the darkness. Irrevocably close, orbitally connected, but forever separated. What he wouldn’t give to change that, to venture into something more, explore uncharted territory, close the space between them, a collision of sorts that would irreparably change the forces felt between them.
But how? Knowing him, he’d likely destroy the symbiotic nature they’d settled into and send them into extinction if he tried.
No, it was better to leave things as they existed: safe, close, linked, comfortable. Except in moments like these when the longing he felt for her threatened to devour him from the inside out.
The verse repeated and, realizing he’d likely never get the opportunity to move beyond how close they’d already become, he turned back to his task, suddenly feeling melancholy.
“Again!” RJ demanded when the song ended.
“Let’s see what comes next,” Michonne told him.
Immediately, a woman’s voice started singing. “I don’t want a lot for Christmas/There is just one thing I need.”
“Ohh!” Michonne hollered above the din. “I’m karaoke’ing this one!”
With his elbows on his knees, lights dangling from his fingertips, he stared as Michonne, katana-wielding badass, grabbed a six-inch nutcracker statue, used it as a faux microphone, and belted out each and every lyric to the slow-starting turned rock-n-roll pop song ringing through the rafters.
Daryl couldn’t help huffing out laughs as the music progressed, Michonne twirling Judith around with her free hand, Carol and RJ rocking out with the uptempo’d song.
He also couldn’t help noticing the longing in the lyrics, apparently a common theme on the mixed music track. They did nothing to help the yearning in his heart as he watched the festive scene play out before him as he sat idly on the sidelines, just as he had for most of his life.
Michonne caught his eye a few times and motioned for him to join them, but he shook his head.
“Wooo!” Michonne exclaimed as the song ended, looking pleased with herself. “Who knew we’d ever karaoke again?”
“Your turn, Carol!” Judith exclaimed.
“Yeah, your turn, Carol,” Michonne echoed, handing the ‘microphone’ to her, a pleased smile gracing her face.
Carol looked at each of them in turn, waiting for the next song to start, her eyes lingering on him as a jingle-y pop tune started playing.
“I can’t wait to unwrap you at Christmas/You’re the gift for me/I can’t wait to unwrap you at Christmas/Under the Christmas tree.”
“Is this the Monkees?!” Michonne exclaimed as the music jangled on.
Carol nodded enthusiastically, singing only half of the lyrics with the group. “I can’t wait to unwrap you at Christmas. I don’t know the words.”
Daryl chuckled to himself, his eyes ever tracking the carefree spirits bounce around the room. Michonne and the kids held hands, forming a circle, and went round and round as though they were kids in a schoolyard. Carol sang considerably better than children calling out nursery rhymes, even if she made up half of the song.
“I’ve been waiting all year now, baby/For the snow and you to return/So I’ll hang the mistletoe and stand right here/Cross my fingers, hope I’ll get my wish this year.”
The thought of kissing Carol under the mistletoe, her dreamy eyes peering up at him in the firelight, sashayed through his mind as her voice rang out. His eyes flicked up just in time to see her gaze settle on him, sending his blood pumping hot and hard through his veins.
Though he knew she couldn’t read his warm and wayward thoughts, embarrassment flooded over him. He turned away to check on Michonne and the kids, who were now strategically picking places to hang a few boughs of fake mistletoe.
Damn all this love-dovey Christmas crap, he thought, his mood turning dismal at how easily he’d fallen under the spell of it all. Just untangle these lights—and then yourself from this whole mess.
“I can’t wait to unwrap you at Christmas/You’re the gift for me.”
Without lifting his head from the frustrating task in his hands, he glanced up at Carol still caroling. To find her staring meaningfully at him as more longing words fell from her lips.
“I can’t wait to unwrap you at Christmas/I dream of nothing more.”
His belly flipped, and he dropped his eyes to the knotted lights before him, swallowing hard. He felt his cheeks warm again.
Her eyes fixed on him didn’t mean anything. Couldn’t mean anything.
Could it?
Don’t be stupid, he scolded himself, shame sweeping through him at the notion she sang the lyrics to him instead of into the room. She’d never… She was just messing with him. She always did when she was in a fun and feisty mood.
“I’ve been saving all of my kisses/Just to spend them on your sweet lips/So I’ll decorate the place with light and cheer/Knowing Christmas day you will be standing here.”
He refused to look up, no matter how desperately he longed to watch her sing, see those words fall from her mouth as her eyes landed on him. His heart couldn’t take it. As it was, he could barely work the knots out of the string of lights in his hands; he’d never untangle her from his heart.
The song and Carol continued, but he drifted somewhere else.
And why would he even try? She’d acted as his lifeline for far too many years to undo now. No separation, no time apart, no diverging road had ever kept them from one another. But neither had any led them together, not the way he longed for. And that still confused the hell out of him.
How could he even understand what he felt for her? No one had ever burrowed into his heart the way she had. He’d never let anyone get as close to him as she had. He’d spent a lifetime keeping people away, and all he wanted was to draw her in, as close to him as possible, touch her skin, make her feel all the wild, wonderful, and confusing things he felt when she was near.
Damn it all!
He shook his head, chasing his daydream away. Which didn’t do him much good since she continued singing about kissing under the mistletoe.
He nearly groaned, forcing his mind to focus on the wretched lights in his hand. The kids deserved to have some fun, to see Christmas lights strung up and to decorate the house with Christmas merriment and to hear the upbeat songs that used to drive him mad when played in every store and to dance with Michonne and Carol. And where’d she learn to sway like that anyway? Had she always been able to sing?
He knew what the sound of her crying softly in the middle of the night sounded like, how far she could trek without food and water before collapsing, what she looked like after weeks without shelter, and how brave and self-sacrificing she became when someone she loved faced danger. But he didn’t know her favorite song or how old she’d been when they’d met or what kind of music she’d listened to. He couldn’t begin to guess whether she’d ever lived anywhere other than Georgia before they’d trekked north or how many siblings she’d had, if any, or what her hobbies had been or if she’d ever played sports.
“Aw, hell,” he mumbled to himself, realizing he couldn’t get his one-track mind off of destination Carolville.
Finally, the song ended, and the kids cried out for more.
“Maybe we should help Uncle Daryl with those lights. He seems to be having some problems,” Michonne observed.
Both kids hurtled towards him as the next song started, some bluesy, half-country, rock ballad. He gave the partially untangled end of the light string to Judy as Michonne bounded up to Carol, and they both began singing into the ‘microphone.’
“Take back the holly and mistletoe/Silver bells on strings/If I wrote a letter to Santa Claus/I would ask for just one thing/I don’t need sleigh rides in the snow/don’t need a Christmas that’s blue/Take back the tinsel, stockings, and bows/‘Cause all I want for Christmas is you.”
Holy hell, another one?
He didn’t think he could take another lonesome, aching, pining, desperate song about wanting someone, especially not with Carol singing the lyrics out, calling to his lonely heart with her siren’s song and melodic voice.
After instructing Judy and a less-than-helpful RJ, he glanced up at the apocalypse’s best duo to find both of them singing directly to their audience of three.
“I don’t need expensive things/They don’t matter to me/All that I want can’t be found/Underneath my Christmas tree.”
The confidence, joy, and passion with which they sang out made him want to stop and watch the performance, and he tapped the kids on their shoulders and motioned for them to pay attention.
“You are the angel atop my tree.” Michonne pointed to the kids and sang out to them, enthralled in the song.
“You are my dream come true/Santa can’t bring me what I need/‘Cause all I want for Christmas is you.”
A sax solo played, and Daryl watched as Carol, eyes closed, swayed to the sexy music, a veritable dream come true. He swallowed hard, his eyes never leaving her, and he was glad he was sitting down, the kids in front of him and tangled up Christmas lights dangling all around him or he might have made a fool of himself by vaulting up and across the room, pulling her into his arms, and letting her know how much the song and her voice singing it affected him, Grimes gang hanging around or not.
Suddenly, her eyes opened and found his, just as the lyrics picked up again, and she sang them out, loud and proud.
“You are the angel atop my tree/You are my dream come true/Santa can’t bring me what I need/‘Cause all I want for Christmas is you.”
Somewhere on his periphery, he was aware of the kids dancing again and Michonne singing, but every fiber of him was attuned to Carol as she stared seductively at him, pointing in his direction as she sang. The air around him sizzled and heat flooded the room, as though he stood in front of an open oven door, the warmth of her gaze rolling over his skin like fire.
“I don’t need expensive things/They don’t matter to me/All that I want can’t be found/Underneath the Christmas tree.”
The vocal growl she employed at that last lyric sent his heart pounding hard, and it took everything he had to remain seated, watching her sing to him.
“You are the angel atop my tree/You are my dream come true/Santa can’t bring me what I need/‘Cause all I want for Christmas is you.”
She repeated the last line a few more times, and each line, with every word, his blood pumped hotter. He knew he should look away—he needed to. But with his brain misfiring, his heart pounding like a drum against his rib cage, his palms sweating, every atom of him dialed in to Carol, he couldn’t move.
The song ended—all too soon and not quickly enough for Daryl—and the kids clapped profusely, exuberant and hyper. Michonne took a bow and Carol curtsied, both pleased with their performance.
“Thank you, thank you.” Michonne accepted the applause with a rare smile.
“Again!” RJ demanded again.
“No, I think that’s enough for tonight. Come on, let’s pack up this stuff,” Michonne indicated the smattering of unused decorations still gracing the floor, “and then it’s time for bed.”
The kids protested, arguing with Michonne, as Carol smiled, sultry and pleased with herself, at him before helping the kids and Michonne clean up the room.
Dazed, Daryl dropped his gaze to his task and mechanically finished untangling the strand of lights. Had it really taken him this long to try to get some lights hung up? She’d done that—that little performance—on purpose, and hell if he knew what she was up to.
She didn’t know what she did to him, couldn’t know that her little game of teasing had him wondering how he’d sleep tonight.
It’s a wonder I ever get anything done with Carol hanging around, he thought self-deprecatingly.
“I wanna help Uncle Daryl.”
“No, Uncle Daryl can finish the lights by himself. And when you wake up tomorrow, they’ll all be hung up.” Michonne herded the kids towards the stairs. “At least I think,” she murmured to him as she passed him, giving him a little wink.
Consternation crossed his face, and he glared at her as she bounded up the stairs, leaving Carol to finish shoving the boxes of Christmas stuff into the corner as he draped the lights around the other half of the living room.
He felt her presence as she moved around behind him, aware that they had the entire downstairs to themselves. He almost wished she’d offered to help Michonne with the kids. Or that he had. Instead, he felt desire oozing off of him, filling up the room and threatening to suffocate him, and he wondered if she could feel it too. If she felt even a fraction of the tension between them that clung to him like dust to the Earth. Or was she immune to it?
Daryl hung the end of the light strand and stood in the center of the room to inspect the fruits of their evening of decorating. The end tables and bookshelves, the coffee and dining room tables all held festive trinkets, from snowmen and nutcrackers to a nativity scene and candles. They’d done a good, if excessive, job, and the lights gave the room the final touch it needed.
Carol’s hand settled on his shoulder briefly before sliding down his arm, and every muscle in his body tensed up at the contact. He didn’t know how much more he could take.
“Looks nice.”
He nodded, unable to do much more than breathe. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw her peer up at him, but he couldn’t face her, not right now. Not with every nerve ending raw and burning for her.
Carol bumped his arm. “The kids will appreciate this. They had so much fun tonight.”
His mouth upturned slightly and he nodded again in agreement. They’d given Judith and RJ a small glimpse of the Christmas happiness and wonder kids today would likely never again experience. He was happy to have helped even a small bit.
“Did you?”
He knew it was a mistake, knew he shouldn’t turn to look at her. Not with her standing so close to him. Close enough to touch, to see the dark flecks in her oceanic eyes, to trace the small smattering of freckles lying across her nose with his gaze, to see the fullness of her soft, smiling lips.
He knew better, but he faced her anyway, her pull on him too powerful to overcome.
“Yeah,” he murmured, his voice sounding softer than it should. If she only knew how much he’d enjoyed it, she’d run for the hills, far away from him, and never think to tease him again.
“Me too.”
Her guileless smile seeped into his heart, flooding it with love and a longing he didn’t know how to fight anymore.
“I noticed.”
Her eyes lit up even more, if that were possible, filled with hope and something else he was afraid to give a name to. “You did…”
He couldn’t tell if it was a question or a statement, and his eyes flicked to her lips again. She’d drawn him in like a moth to a burning flame, roped him in so methodically he was happy to burn himself up just to feel her warmth, to stay by her side.
“I was hoping you would.”
The admission fell from her lips on a near-sigh, the tuft of her breath reaching his lips like a distant kiss and not at all the one he wanted, but damn if it didn’t make him crave her more.
“Yeah?”
She’d reduced him to a simpleton; he couldn’t seem to form words.
“Yeah,” she confirmed, stepping closer to him, filling up his senses, invading his space, making him ache more than she ever had before.
“And you know what else?”
He didn’t, but he couldn’t even tell her that. She’d stolen the air from his lungs, the thoughts from his mind, the words from his lips.
She saved him from having to answer.
“It’s my lucky night.”
At least he thought she had. What the hell was she talking about? “Wha—”
“Look up.”
Her whisper made his knees weak, and he felt his pulse pounding, but he tore his eyes aware from her to peer up. At a bough of mistletoe, hanging merrily down from its perch above them, as though it’d been made for this very moment.
He swallowed hard, knowing what came next. What had to come next. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to. God knew he’d fantasized about kissing her nearly every day for a decade, in any number of places, in every situation his mind could come up with. No, he had the desire part down to perfection.
What he didn’t have was experience. Or confidence. Or an idea of how he’d ever be able to walk away from her once he knew what her lips felt like beneath his, how she felt pressed against him, how his arms fit around her.
He knew this moment, ripe with the possibility of everything he’d wanted and couldn’t believe was only heartbeats away, waited for him to simply look at her.
“Daryl.”
His name on her breath made him finally, slowly, achingly, fearfully, soaringly, turn his face back towards her.
As he did, she moved into him, her hands grazing his chest as her arms slid up around his neck, and they came together slowly, tentatively, but full of want.
Her touch trailed tendrils of fire across his skin until heat and Carol were all he felt, a seductive combination he could only drown in.
His lips touched hers, soft, supple, sweet, and so intoxicating he felt dizzy, her presence the only thing grounding him. He felt her smile against his lips, and a groan escaped him, which had her pressing in closer, her body flush against his. She rose up on her tip-toes and he cinched his arms around her waist, holding her to him, holding her to keep from falling off the edge of the world.
He heard her hum against him, the vibration of her moan of pleasure both giving him strength to continue and making him weaker than he’d ever been.
He couldn’t care. All he wanted to do was never leave this moment, never stop holding her, never stop trying to show her how much he loved her.
Neither of them heard Michonne come back down the stairs. She stopped when she saw the two of them, happily wrapped up together and fully making out under the mistletoe she’d strategically placed around the room.
She smiled and turned off the living room light, leaving the two of them to explore each other by the soft glow of the Christmas lights. Apparently they weren’t the only things getting lit this year…
A/N:  I took some liberty with a few of the songs, as a few were produced and sung in the past few years. Luckily, no one cares because I own nothing except for my ideas. :D  The songs, in order, are Elvis Presley’s ‘Blue Christmas,’ Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Underneath the Tree,’ Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You,’ The Monkee’s ‘Unwrap You At Christmas,’ and Vince Vance and the Valiants’ ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ (which is not the same song as Mariah Carey’s).

All I Want For Christmas...
The Reader has been alone at Christmas for a few years.
The Doctor and Team TARDIS arrive at the Reader's flat - They try to encourage her that Christmas isn't all that bad.
13th Doctor/F!Reader
Fluff, First Kiss
-x-
Christmas Eve.
You had dreaded both Christmas Eve and Christmas day for years now... Four years to be exact. They always felt like the loneliest days of the year.
You looked out of your flat window at the night sky, snow was lightly falling. All you could see were the bright lights that covered countless buildings. You also spotted a few giant inflatable Santas and Reindeers. All of this made you feel sick.
Turning away from the window, closing the curtains in the process, you made your way towards the kitchen. The kettle was immediately turned on, you were ready to have a hot drink and just go to sleep. You even thought about sleeping throughout the whole day tomorrow and just pretend that Christmas was some fictional holiday that never even existed.
You leaned against the counter and your eyes drifted to the radio that was placed nearby the kettle... You just knew that a cheesy Christmas song would be playing if you turned it on.
Once the kettle had finished boiling, you realised that the silence just seemed to make you feel even more lonely. You hesitantly reached a hand towards the radio to flip it on - volume low.
"...-just one thing I need. I don't care about the presents..."
You groaned, loudly. Of course. What other song would be playing? You quickly moved towards the kettle and finished making the drink before making your way to the table. You took a seat and allowed the warmth of the mug to fill your hands.
"...-Claus won't make me happy with a toy on Christmas day..."
Your eyes glanced around the flat. It was dark. The only light was coming from the corner of the room, and even that flickered.
You found yourself slightly mouthing the words.
"...-my wish come true..."
You then found yourself whispering along.
"All I want for Christmas is... Y-"
A loud bang caused you to jump out of your skin, spilling some of the hot drink on your lap. You quickly stood up, leaving the mug on the table, "Oh, what the..." you muttered to yourself, wiping the drink away.
The bang occurred again, making you turn your head towards the front door. Your eyes then darted to the clock on the wall - it was almost ten pm. Who could that possibly be?
"(Y/N)!" the familiar voice that made your heart melt came from the other side of the door.
A smile made its way onto your face as you walked towards the door. You had known the Doctor for about nine months now... And they were definitely the best nine months of your life.
You unlocked the door, quick. You expected to see just the blonde Time Lord on the other side. You didn't expect to see everyone else.
"Doc?" you asked, "Yaz? Ryan? Graham? What are you all doing here?" confusion clearly laced your voice. You then noticed that Ryan and Graham were carrying a cardboard box each.
"Here to see you, of course!" the Doctor exclaimed as she pushed past you and into your into.
"B-But... why?" you questioned as the rest of your fam entered your flat, "Not that I mind... it's just... It's Christmas Eve and-"
"The Doctor thought it would be a good idea if we all spent Christmas together!" Yaz exclaimed.
Ryan nodded, "She threatened to leave us on a planet if we didn't do it." Yaz simply slapped him on the back of the head, "Oi!"
Graham smiled, "We brought some stuff. Some decorations."
You raised an eyebrow, "How could you possibly know that I didn't have any up?"
The Doctor smiled, "Well..." she paused, "I have a time machine. And I know that this is kind of a tradition for you. It's not a nice tradition. Having no decorations up... Being alone... It's never fun being alone!" she exclaimed before reaching into the box that Ryan held. She rummaged before she finally found what she wanted.
"Er... Doc?" Graham asked as the blonde held up the item, "Don't you think that tree's a bit on the small side?"
"Don't underestimate it, Graham!" she replied.
"He is right though, Doc." you said. The Christmas tree that the Doctor held lay in her palm.
The Doctor winked, "Just watch." she said as she walked towards the corner of the room. She placed the tree onto the floor, carefully. She then reached into her pocket and pulled out her famous sonic screwdriver before taking a step back from the tree. A few moments after aiming the sonic at the tree, it immediately grew in size, almost hitting the ceiling. It was fully decorated with a small version of the TARDIS sitting at the top, it glowed pure white as it spun slowly.
"Wow..." you all whispered as the Doctor grinned. She then quickly pointed the sonic towards the kitchen.
You were confused at first... But then your ears became filled with music.
"...-I want for Christmas is you!"
You simply stared at the Doctor.
"What?" she asked, "I love this song." she smiled at you… And you couldn’t stop yourself from smiling back.
-x-
You ended up having to turn the music down due to complaints from a neighbour. The Doctor laughed it off as she and the gang continued to decorate your flat.
Lights were placed around the walls and tinsel was upon the fireplace which Yaz ended up lighting. Everyone was seated on the sofa, drinking and talking. You remained in the kitchen, leaning against the counter, listening to whatever Christmas songs were playing.
“Here you go, (Y/N)!” the Doctor said, walking towards you with a small box in her hand, “Forgot to give you this earlier.”
You eyed the box in her hand before looking back up to her face, “If this is another bomb-“
“That was one time!”
“One time too many!” you laughed before taking the box, “Do you remember what that bomb did?”
She bit her lip, “I don’t recall.” she muttered.
“You blew a hole in the wall and the neighbours passed out.” Your smile grew before you looked down at the box in your hand.
“I fixed it, didn’t I? Hand on my hearts.” the Doctor said, placing a hand over her chest, “It’s not a bomb.”
Nodding, you carefully opened the box… You reached in and pulled out the gift.
Your eyes lit up.
It was a small snow globe with a TARDIS seated in the middle, the light on top of it pulsed slowly. There were familiar monsters around the TARDIS, too. You saw a Dalek with a Christmas hat on. You gave it a light shake… But you didn’t expect to hear the famous TARDIS sound coming from within the globe. It was very faint but you still noticed it.
“Oh, Doctor…” you said, as you watched the snow fall, “I love it.”
The Doctor replied, “Real snow! Doesn’t melt. Are you sure you like it? I could always get you something el-“
“No, no, Doctor. I promise. I love it.” You then placed the box and snow globe onto the counter before quickly bringing the Doctor into a hug, “Thank you.”
The blonde laughed before returning the hug, “Well, I’m glad. But! That’s not all!” she pulled away, grabbing your hand in the process. She dragged you towards the front door, “Come on, gang!” she exclaimed to get everyone else’s attention.
“Where we headin’, Doc?” Graham asked.
“It’s a surprise!” she replied. She waited for everyone to put their coats on before finally grabbing your hand once again.
Your hand remained in the Doctor’s as she pulled you through the snow-covered field towards the TARDIS, your eyes focused on the light on top of it. The TARDIS always seemed to amaze you every time you saw it. It just looked even more beautiful as snow continued to fall… But then you looked towards the Doctor who was walking by your side. You loved how the light snow fell upon the blonde’s head, you also loved how the moonlight shone in her eyes.
The Doctor glanced at you as you reached the TARDIS. She simply winked before opening the door. She allowed all of you inside, finally letting go of your hand. You couldn’t lie… You already missed the contact.
“You going to tell us where we’re going, Doctor?” Ryan asked as the Doctor entered last, shutting the door behind her. She shook the snow off her coat and hair before making her way to the console.
“We’re going to a brilliant planet!” she said, dancing around the console, “There’s snow, snow and more snow! There’re three moons in the sky that always shine. Oh! And there are small creatures that are similar to fireflies! They shine different colours and you always seem them building tiny little snowmen! So please try not to step on them.” clear excitement laced her voice, “No other species apart from these fireflies live there. It is a wonderful place.”
“That sounds amazing, Doctor.” Yaz stated.
You nodded, “Yeah…”
“So… There’s going to be no danger this time, right?” Graham asked.
“Shouldn’t be!” the blonde said, pulling one final lever, obviously revealing a custard cream.
-x-
It was more beautiful than the Doctor had described. Ryan, Graham and Yaz all immediately ran out into the snow, “Careful of the snowmen!” the Doctor reminded them.
You could see the fireflies glowing different colours within the night: blue, red, purple, yellow… Countless colours.
You caught the Doctor staring at you as she leaned against the door of the TARDIS.
A smile formed on your lips, “What?” you asked, looking at her.
The Doctor cleared her throat, looking down, “Oh, nothing…” she said before looking back up at you, “It’s just… You… You look beau-“ the Doctor was cut off by a load groan coming from the TARDIS.
“What’s wrong with her?” you asked with slight worry as the Doctor stepped back away from the TARDIS.
A laugh escaped the Doctor, “Now now, old girl.” the Time Lord patted the door, “It’s only a bit of snow. You’ve handled worse!”
You placed your own hand on the door next to the Doctor’s, “She’s really bothered by the snow?”
“She’s not particularly fond of it.” she smiled at you, before cautiously placing her own hand over yours on the door, “You should really wear gloves. This cold will get to a human like you.”
“I’m fine, Doc…” you assured.
“You know I can feel your temperature, right?” the Doctor said, glancing between your hand and your eyes.
“Of course, you can.” you looked down, focusing on the snow on the ground. You soon felt the Doctor’s other hand under your chin, making you look back up.
“I don’t want you to catch a cold, (Y/N). Or worse…” she stated.
You nodded, “I know.” you then looked towards the rest of the gang in the distance. They were making a snowman together, but of course Yaz had to throw a snowball every now and then.
Fireflies soon began to surround you, the Doctor and the TARDIS.
Your free hand came up towards the fireflies, “Wow…” you whispered.
“They are magnificent, aren’t they?” the Doctor said.
The snow continued to fall and the moons continued to shine which only brought out the colours in the fireflies more. You found yourself looking into the Doctor’s eyes. You could see the deep darkness and sadness within them… But her bubbly personality easily covered it up. One of her hands remained on yours on the door. The other made its way to your cheek.
You almost jumped as the TARDIS door suddenly opened. All contact between you and the Doctor was lost.
The sounds coming from the TARDIS almost sounded like laughing.
“All right, old girl!” the Doctor exclaimed, annoyed, before she stepped inside. You followed.
You were about to walk further into the console room, hoping to warm up… But the Doctor stopped you, grabbing your hand.
“Wh-What?” you asked, confused.
She then pointed up with her other hand, you looked up.
There was mistletoe hanging in the doorway.
You felt your face heat up as you slowly looked back down at the Doctor. The Doctor’s hand found its way onto your cheek once again.
Your hand tightened in hers as the Doctor stepped closer. You subconsciously licked your lips just before you felt the Time Lord’s gently press against them. Both yours and the Doctor’s eyes fluttered closed. It was short but sweet, the taste of custard creams still present.
You had dreamt of doing this for months now…
You almost jumped AGAIN as the TARDIS groaned loud before the familiar song blasted throughout the console room.
“~All I want for Christmas is you!~”
“Really, old girl?” the Doctor laughed, looking towards the console. She then looked back at you, pulling you back towards her by grabbing both of your hands. She gave you one last peck on the lips, “Now… How about we get you wrapped up properly and then we go and join the rest of the team?”
You were lost for words so you simply nodded.
The Doctor let go of your hands before walking towards the console. You looked outside the door whilst the Doctor busied herself with getting you a hat and a pair of gloves.
“(Y/N)!” the Doctor exclaimed walking towards you, “Here!” she handed you the clothing.
“Thank you.” you smiled, biting your lip. You looked away before cautiously leaning in to kiss the Doctor on the cheek, “Thank you.” you said again, “For everything.”
“Don’t mention it, (Y/N).” she said before stepping out of the TARDIS, “Let’s go! I will definitely beat you in snowball fight!”
Before you could answer, you saw the Doctor run off towards Yaz, Ryan and Graham.
The smile remained on your lips as you put the hat and gloves on. You pulled the coat tight around you as you stepped out of the TARDIS.
You shut the door and placed a hand on it once again…
“Thank you, old girl.” you said, resting your forehead against the door. The TARDIS hummed in reply. Stepping away, you assured, “We’ll get this snow cleared off you as soon as possible.”
With that, you then turned and ran towards everyone, making sure you didn’t step on any of the snowmen scattering the ground.
As the snow fell around you, you realised…
Maybe Christmas wasn’t the worst time of the year.
Now that you had your fam. Now that you had the Doctor.

if request slots are still open what about a secret santa sort of thing with brigitte, widowmaker, and maybe someone of your choosing if you'd like drawing their crushes name?
owo secret santa. i chose pharah, because i love pharah trying to keep her cool but like. failing
Brigitte
Brigitte’s eyes light up when she reads your name. She’s got to get you something good. She rarely has expectations for secret Santa-type deals, so she’s pleasantly surprised. She glances at you as you pick a name of your own. She wishes that you’d get her, but based on the number of names, there is a low chance of that happening. Still, she’s glad she’s got a definite reason to see you later.
She ends up making a box that looks small but expands to reveal a shirt you had your eye on, a few snacks, and a special phone case just for you. She made it herself, allowing you to adjust the size of the phone case if you get a different phone. The best part is that it’s basically digital, so the case can have a photo set to it! She sets it as a picture of the two of you.
She’s pretty nervous when she’s got to give you the gifts. She gives you a shy smile. Hey, merry Christmas. Um, here you go. She hands you the box, watching anxiously as you open the box. Um, I got a few things. I didn’t know what you’d want for sure, so I, uh, yeah. She manages a nod. Here’s a shirt, some snacks, and a phone case. She’s overjoyed at your reaction. I hoped you’d like it! The phone case was pretty hard to get right, and… She blushes, embarrassed. Sorry, yeah. Hope you like it!
She’ll spend the rest of Christmas and forever showing you how the phone case works. She blushes like crazy if you want to take a Christmas photo with her as your phone case. She’s really happy, of course, but didn’t expect you’d be so sweet. Glad you like it. She smiles at you. Want to get something to eat? She decides to tell you how she feels soon.
brigitte: would you like to stay for christmas
reinhardt: WOULD YOU LIKE TO STAY FOREVER
Widowmaker
Widowmaker’s eyes widen with interest as she reads your name. She didn’t expect anything to actually come out of secret Santa. Then again, she has relatively low expectations for these sorts of events. She leaves the room immediately to find a gift. She doesn’t care who gets her name. Even if you get her, she doesn’t really care too much. She wants to make a good impression for your gift, though.
She looks everywhere to find a gift, but every time she decides that she’s got a good gift, she finds something she knows you’ll like more. Once she reflects, she has like ten presents. She doesn’t remember what’s in half of them. In her opinion, the best gift is the cashmere scarf that has your initials embroidered onto it. She’s really proud. She made it herself.
She’s feeling uncomfortable with all these people around her. She approaches you. Come with me. She pauses. It’s for your gift. She doesn’t want you or anyone to think she’s trying to drag you away to kill you or something. People don’t trust her. She doesn’t care what they think. What you think, though… She brings you outside, where a small sleigh holds your gifts. Go ahead. I didn’t know what you wanted. That’s a lie. She couldn’t choose just one. Take them all. She nods at you.
She’s pretty happy when you’re happy about her gifts. She takes a moment to put the scarf around your neck, gently patting the scarf afterwards. I made this for you. Does it fit well? She blinks up at you. I had to make a rough estimate, so… She takes a breath. If that’s all, then… Let’s go back inside. I’m going to get something to eat. …Care to join me?
Pharah
Pharah blinks, practically doing a double-take. Yep, she read that right. Your name is on the paper. She looks over at you. You’re pretty close, but also not close enough. She suppresses a sigh. One of these days she’ll tell you how she feels. But for now, she’s got to get a gift for you. She’s got to find something you’ll like. Something that’ll make an impact on you. She goes shopping immediately.
She decides to make her gift something from the heart. She isn’t sure what she wants to get you for the longest time, until she sees a shop that catches her eye. A classic kind of festive, she goes in. She leaves with a smile on her face and a box with a snow globe with a music box in the base. There are three little figures in the globe. You, her, and a little tree.
She’s trying very hard not to freak out. It’s just the most attractive person in the room. It’s whatever. She’s screaming inside. She heads over to you. Um. Good start. Here. She hands you the gift, immediately regretting her dialogue of choice. She watches as you open the box. It’s a snow globe with a music box in it. Um, here. She takes the globe from you to wind the music box, and she blushes at your fingers brushing. Sorry! She soon passes the globe back to you, looking at you as the music plays.
It’s also kind of special because the shop I bought this from, um, they said that I can come back and change the music box if I asked them. Like, if you don’t like this song, we can go get another song sometime. She pauses. Also, yeah. The little figures reminded me of you and I, so I thought it’d be pretty cute. She confidently smiles. Merry Christmas.

@kirakirafairyprincess So sorry for the wait but we hope you like it!!Merry Belated Christmas~!
- Mod nana
Eto Koki
“[Name], slow down.” The blondcalled, slowly following behind your restless figure.
You jogged to a halt, gasping inawe at all the items on display alongside the cute decorations set up for theholiday. “Kou, Kou! Look at this‼” you bounced in place, excitedly pointing toa miniature set of Santa leaving presents in stockings. You marveled at thelevel of detail that went into making it—as expected of a toy store!
“I get that you’re excited forholiday shopping but calm down.” Koki laughed, joining you to look at thedisplay. He gave another short chuckle at the million-watt smile plastered overyour face.
You shook your head, standingstraight to observe the miniature with a shy smile. “That’s not all. I’m alsoexcited that I get to spend the whole day with you! It feels like forever sincewe got some time for ourselves.” you admitted with a giggle.
“Then all the more reason to takethis slowly.” His expression softened, sapphire hues smiling warmly at you ashe took your hand, giving it a light squeeze. “Let’s take our time looking atpresents, okay?”
You blinked, nodding with asheepish laugh as you scratched your cheek.
“I guess you’re right.”
[E/c] hues stared in wonder, asmall gasp as you circled around a music box with a ballerina on it. Meanwhile, the golden-hairedyouth picked up a giant teddy bear, holding it in his hands.
“[Name], how about this?” Heturned around to show you a brown stuffed bear wearing a white shirt underneath aplaid vest and shorts, a matching red ribbon tied around its neck while itoffered a friendly smile—just begging for a hug.
You hummed in agreement, walkingcloser to the idol. “That’s great! But Kou…could you hug it for me?” you askedto which he raised an eyebrow.
“I don’t mind but…” Cerulean orbslooked down at the stuffed animal, tilting his head at your strange request. Hewrapped his arms around its torso, bringing it closer and giving it a lightsqueeze. “Like this?”
You nodded. “Is it soft andfluffy?” you inquired, searching for your phone.
He blinked at your question, rubbing his cheek against the bear’s lush fur. “Yeah, it’s really fluffy butwhy—” Koki looked back up when he heard your phone’s camera go off.
“Ahh Kou-kun with a teddy bear! What should I do~?” you squealed, lifting your phone up into the air. “I wannamake it my wallpaper but at the same time I kinda don’t want anyone else to see thispicture!” you brought it down, placing a hand to your cheek with a dreamy sighat the photo of the blond singer hugging the teddy bear with the most adorablyconfused expression on his handsome features.
You finally glanced up at him, holdingback a smile at how utterly lost he looked.
“Sorry, I was just having a bit offun.” You explained, making your way to Koki to show him the photo you took.“Given your looks, it’s a little surreal to see you holding a teddy bear of allthings so I decided to capture the moment~!”
You looked over your shoulder atthe stoic male staring at his photo before he shifted his gaze back to you.
“So you tricked me?” he askedwith a rare pout.
“Sorry! But you were just socute! You even went along with what I asked.” You laughed, feeling your heart flutterat his cute reaction. “Do you want me to delete it?”
“…Just don’t make it yourwallpaper.” Koki replied, handing you the stuffed toy before heading to anothersection of the store.
After that the two of you went around to all sorts ofstores, looking through toys, cookware, jewelry and the like for presents foryour friends and family. You placed a bangle back onto the stand when youfound Koki looking rather mesmerized at some sweaters and scarves currently onsale for the holidays.
“Matching sweaters? You wanna buy a pair?” your voicesnapped him out of his trance.
“I’m not sure.” He admitted with a wry smile, blue eyeslooking back to the knit clothes. “I heard it’s something couples do but…thedesign.” He trailed off at the rather hideous patterns on display while youlaughed in understanding. “Rikka-san said it was cute but Ryo called ittacky…so I don’t know what to do. What do you think, [Name]?”
[E/c] hues watched the taciturn male mull it over, makingyour way to the rack to search through the selections.
“I’ll have to agree with Ryo-kun and say I’d rather not seeyou wear something that tacky but how about these?” you pulled out a scarf, tossing one end over his shoulder and bringing it around to muffle it aroundhis neck. “Matching scarves instead?”
Cerulean orbs glanced down at the scarf, placing his handson the soft cloth before looking back to you, nodding inapproval.
Your footsteps tapped against the sidewalk, in tune with theblond’s strides while a giggle escaped your lips at the way his sapphire eyessparkled like a kid in a candy store as he stared at the scarf, a shy smileon his handsome face while his fingers kept tracing over the fabric.
You squeezed his hand, moving closer to him. “You really aretoo cute, Kou.”
He looked up at your comment, raising an eyebrow. “Am I? Ikeep getting called that lately but I don’t really know what I’m doing to earnthat sort of response.”
You covered your mouth with the back of your free hand toprevent yourself from laughing. “It’s exactly what you’re doing right now…” yousnickered, shaking your head in reply to his curious expression.
You stopped in front of him, taking Koki’s free hand as younuzzled your nose against his. “Thanks for spending the whole day with me.”
The golden-haired youth chuckled, shaking his head. “I shouldbe thanking you, [Name].” Koki smiled, expression softening at the matching scarfaround your neck. He pressed his lips against your forehead, giving you a chastekiss. “Thank you for the present.”
Horimiya Eichi
“Haha…sorry for making you tag along with me on such shortnotice!” He gave an apologetic smile, green eyes staring up at the giantChristmas tree standing proudly in the center of the mall. “I didn’t get anyfree time to buy presents until now and I’m still troubled about whatto buy!” He gave a short laugh, sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck.
“Don’t worry about it!” you shook your head, taking Eichi’shand as you led the brunet down the mall. “A date is still a date, even if it’sChristmas shopping~!”
The two of you walked in and out of multiple stores, desperately steeringthe messy-haired brunet away from ugly sweaters and scratching your heads onwhat to buy a certain Quell Leader before finally deciding to buy something forIssei and Ichiru first.
Eichi blinked curiously at a snow globe, shaking it to makethe snow inside flutter along the tiny dome when you called out to him.
“What about this?” you presented a blanket with starsscattered all over it, small lines connecting a few of them to formconstellations. “They still sleep together so a big warm blanket will beperfect thing for winter, don’t you think? Issei-kun also likes stargazingafter all!”
Emerald hues sparkled at the blanket, nodding energetically.“Yeah! It’d be so cute to see them huddling together under this‼” He ran thecloth between his fingers, checking the quality.
“There’s a whole set with pillow cases and bedsheets if youwant.” You nodded to the back of the store, Eichi eagerly pulling you along tosee what else it had to offer.
The two of you stopped by a jewelry store, looking aroundfor a suitable present for Shu.
“As expected, he’s really hard to buy something for…” youfrowned as you gazed at a beautiful crystal and gold cufflink and tie pin set.
“The fact that he considers 500 thousand yen the bare minimum for when he has to buy a present makes itall that much harder…” Eichi gave a dry laugh, looking away. You gave anawkward smile in response when he spoke again. “Ah, come to think of it…whatdid you buy for Christmas, [Name]?”
“I bought a novel series for Issei-kun. He said he reallyliked the first book I lent him so I figured might as well give him the rest.” Youmused, [e/c] hues tracing the trail of a gold necklace. “As for Ichiru-kun…Ijust decided I’ll make him a meat dish for Christmas!” You explained with alaugh, deciding to buy the cufflink set from before for Shu.
“And as for you…” you looked back at the green-eyed brunetwho tensed up in anticipation. “Well, you’ll just have to find out onChristmas~!” you gave a sly smirk, thanking the cashier before exiting the store.
“Ahh, [Name] no fair‼ It just makes me wanna know even more‼”Eichi cried, jogging after you.
You walked a few steps behind Eichi’s energetic ones, thecrinkling of plastic and rustling of boxes playing in tune with your footsteps. You searched through the bags, double-checking that all the presents wereaccounted for when you suddenly stopped walking once [e/c] orbs noticed anextra box in the bunch.
“What’s this…?”
The fluffy-haired singer paused mid-step, looking over hisshoulder to find you holding up a box, your name printed across the tag.
“Your Christmas present, of course!” Eichi statedmatter-of-factly, walking back to take it out of your hands before mumbling tohimself about how he should have been more careful about what went into whichbag.
“When did you buy it?” you raised an eyebrow, wondering whenhe got the time to considering you had been with him the entire day.
“Hehe, that’s a secret~!” the brunet gave his usual smile, tucking your present away inside his own shopping bag.
“…What is it?” you asked cautiously, searching his face fora hint only to have him laugh. He took your hand, leading you down the street.
“That’s also a secret!” Eichi sang, green eyes looking backat you with a cheeky grin. “You’ll just have to find out on Christmas~!” herecited your words from earlier, laughing once again at your pout.
“Now who’s being unfair?”
Okui Tsubasa
“U-Umm…Tsubasa?” you called in a quiet voice.
“Hm~? What is it, [Name]?” Golden eyes looked back at you,the usual smile plastered on his face.
“I thought you said we were going Christmas shopping…not dress shopping.” You looked down atyourself, a beautiful off-shoulder red cocktail dress hugging your figure, stopping just above your knees. You looked back up at the blond sitting in front of you.“Apart from being red, how else does thisrelate to Christmas?”
“Ehh~? [Name], you should’ve told me earlier that you’re into thatkinda stuff!” Tsubasa exclaimed, yellow orbs sparkling as he whipped his headback. “I saw a really sexy Santa outfit in one of the other stores! Wanna—Hey!”he chuckled as you flung some clothes at him, tossing them aside. “It was justa joke. You’re too serious, [Name]-chan!” Tsubasa replied, his grincontradicting his words.
“And we areChristmas shopping. I’m buying you a dress.” The SolidS idol stood up, makinghis way towards you to get a better look.
“It ruins the surprise a little, don’t you think?” youmused, looking over your shoulder to straighten out the back of the dress.
“I don’t know your size so there’s no helping it.” Tsubasashrugged, eyes lit with mischief as he moved closer. “Or are you saying I cantake the measurements myself~?” his lips widened as he whispered in your ear, hand sliding down to your waist.
“We’re done here.” You tossed another dress over his head toget some distance, scampering back into the changing room.
“[Name]-chan, you’re so cold~!” he whined, pulling the dressoff his face with a pout which soon turned into a chuckle when he saw you peekback at him, cheeks as red as the dress you were wearing.
You toured the mall, the number of shopping bags graduallybecoming more than the two of you could carry as you went from store to store,Tsubasa buying up anything and everything he found interesting—some werepresents for others, some were things for himself.
You finally got a chance to catch a breath, taking a seat atthe food court as you watched over the bags while Tsubasa went to get somedrinks. You sifted through the bags, making sure neither of you forgot anythingwhen a sigh escaped through your nose—a frown pulling the corner of your lips downwhile you took out a box.
Carefully opening the lid, [e/c] hues stared down at apair of mugs, a cute little honeybee floating around in the air with dottedlines tracing its path printed on the ceramic while the other was a silhouette of smallkitten drinking milk out of a saucer.
“He always buys such extravagant things…” Closing the lid yousighed again, losing what little confidence you had in your present. “WillTsubasa really like something like this?”
“Will Tsubasa really like something like what?”
You jumped at the sudden voice, nearly dropping the box. “Tsu-Tsubasa!W-What are you doing here?!” you yelped, voice rising higher than normal as you scrambledto hide the mugs behind your back.
“I forgot your order…” Tsubasa scratched his cheek with an embarrassed grin. “So what will I really like?” he returned to the topic, staring inquisitivelyat you.
“N-Nothing…I was just talking to myself.” You replied, shoulders stiffening under his gaze as you looked away.
“Hm~?” The idol hummed, squinting at you before finally closinghis eyes with a sigh. “If you say so…”
You finally relaxed, honey-colored hues opening with a glint.
“Psych!” he quickly moved to pull the box out of your hands.
“Tsubasa!”
“What’s this? What’s this~?” he sang, gently shaking itbefore placing his hand on the lid.
“Tsubasa, don’t open it! It’s your Christmas present!” youpleaded, jogging to his side.
“It’s fine, isn’t it? You saw mine, after all.” Tsubasacountered, opening the box to blink at the mugs.
“I-I know it’s a very simple present…i-it’s nowhere nearas extravagant as the stuff you usually buy! …Or as lovely as the dress you justbought me but…Tsubasa, I hope you still like it!” you bowed your head, desperately praying he wouldn’t see your embarrassed face.
“[Name]…” hewhispered, golden orbs still fixed on the mugs. “I love them.”
“Huh?” you lifted your head in time to get caught in a tightembrace.

AMERICA’S FIRST SOCIALLY-DISTANCED CHRISTMAS OPEN-AIR EATERY DEBUTS IN PHILADELPHIA TO SPREAD LIGHT AND HOPE DURING CHALLENGING TIMES added to Google Docs
AMERICA’S FIRST SOCIALLY-DISTANCED CHRISTMAS OPEN-AIR EATERY DEBUTS IN PHILADELPHIA TO SPREAD LIGHT AND HOPE DURING CHALLENGING TIMES
Tis the most wonderful time of year in Philadelphia – during one of the most challenging years in modern history. Craft Concepts Group and owner Teddy Sourias will debut America’s first socially-distanced Christmas open-air restaurant and eatery this coming weekend taking over a portion of 12th Street in Midtown Village. Tinsel in July will debut on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 3:00pm in front of Finn McCools (118 S. 12th), Tinsel (116 S. 12th), the former Midtown and Penn Six (114 S. 12th) and Go Popcorn (a neighbor of CCG’s at 114 S. 12th) with socially-distanced cafe seating, frozen and ice cold Christmas cocktails, boozy Grinch pops, a brand new eatery, holiday decor and festive tunes. Patrons can enjoy food and drink while surrounded by thousands of twinkling lights, sparkling bows, red festive santa hats, whimsical elves, shiny bells, illuminated candles, colorful ribbons, over sized candy, decked-out gifts boxes, Christmas trees, and holiday palm trees. Full table service for parties of four to six will be available by reservation only outside Finn McCools and Tinsel. Seating for parties of two that want to enjoy their Luku Ma treats will be available in front of 114 S. 12th Street. Tinsel, Finn McCools and Luku Ma will offer food and drink for pick-up and to go as well. Hours will run from 3:00pm to 10:00pm Monday to Friday, and Noon to 10:00pm on Saturday and Sunday. For reservations for the festive Finn McCools seating with table service and a full dinner menu, call (215) 923-3090. All guests must wear a mask when not seated. All tables are socially distanced at least six feet apart. Staff will follow all local, state and national health and safety recommendations including disposal menus, the use of a menu QR code, wiping down of all surfaces, wearing masks and other protocols in place for the safety of not just the patrons but the staff as well. For more about Tinsel in July, please visit TinselPhilly on Instagram.
“Tinsel in July was designed to bring light, hope and joy to Philadelphia residents during these darker times,” said Sourias. “We wanted to remind everyone that better days are ahead and we all need to continue to work hard, mask up and see some light at the end of the tunnel. While our bars are closed, outdoor seating is the only safe and healthy option right now in Philadelphia. We wanted to add a joyful and positive spin to what outdoor dining means. We recently opened up our other restaurants and brought back our staff. This project entirely driven by their ideas and initiative – and it was a great way for them to stay positive, stay strong and find some personal joy and light right now.”
Sourias added, “Originally we were going to operate for twelve days in honor of the twelve days of Christmas, but instead we are now going to be open all summer long until Labor Day – or until the interest dies down. While we open this weekend, there’s no need to rush – Tinsel in July will be the gift that keeps on giving for you to see when you are ready and comfortable anytime in the next six to seven weeks. We are also pleased to announce we will feed hospital workers with a portion of sales from our popular Canned Goods cocktail. Merry Christmas (in July) and we hope to see your smize behind your masks this summer.”
Tinsel originated in 2017 as Philadelphia’s original and only Christmas pop-up bar. The new concept opened inside a 100+ year jewelry store. The baton was passed from the sparkle of diamonds to now the twinkle of thousands of holiday lights. Tinsel brought new life into the street level space that is was vacant for many years. Simpson’s Jewelry was a family run, full service, jewelry store which was established in 1895.
Tinsel continued to operate as a pop-up bar adding on Nightmare Before Tinsel, a Philadelphia Halloween pop-up bar in 2019. Plans were underway for a brand-new spring pop-up in the space when the global pandemic COVID19 shut down those plans as interior design was underway. During this time, design was underway for the recently acquired space in the former home of Midtown and Penn Six. Those plans also came to an immediate hault when COVID19 shut down the city.
In spring of 2020, Craft Concepts Group reopened Finn McCools, Tradesman’s and BRU with take-out, delivery and outdoor seating. Since bars are not allowed to be open, Tinsel, Kontol, U-Bahn and Uptown Beer Garden have all be shuttered for the health and safety of staff and patrons. CCG’s employees thought of the idea to take outdoor seating to a fun new level – and to bring an uplifting project to 12th Street with the debut of Tinsel in July.
For Tinsel in July, Craft Concepts Group has turned the stretch between Finn McCools Ale House (118 S. 12th), Tinsel (116 S. 12th) and the former Midtown Restaurant (114 S. 12th) into Philadelphia’s “Tinsel Town.” Even neighbor Go Popcorn has joined the festive fun at 112 S. 12th with decorations and coming-soon holiday popcorns (stay tuned for dates).
While all CCG venues will work hand in hand with each other, they each have their own uniquely themed designs designed by interior designer Anne White of AGW Interiors (Tinsel, Blume, Tradesman’s, Leda and the Swan, others).
FInn McCools, the oldest venue of Craft Concepts Group, has a more transitional Christmas theme with beautiful wreaths, vintage sleds from White’s own childhood, and Santa inspired garden gnomes. Tinsel property is inspired by a Dr. Seuss Christmas with a winter cottage facade. Santa’s Elf’s can be found playing around on the cottage’s fence. The seating area is lined with 7′-0″ tall Christmas palm trees and 8 north poles decorated with ribbon, garland, and bells. White Christmas trees are scattered throughout. Luka Ma, the new sweet tooth venue serving desserts, has a bright and colorful design. It is decorated with oversized Christmas lights and over 25 oversized Christmas candies throughout. Santa’s Elf’s have switched gears from wrapping presents to making delicious desserts for all to enjoy. Background music will be a collection of familiar and quirky holiday tunes curated by well-known DJ Robert Drake.
“Tinsel in July was an exciting and challenging project as I have never designed such a unique outdoor dining space,” said White. “Come on over and let this special environment bring you some Christmas Joy! The staff and team here worked really hard to bring this together – and we hope you are able to enjoy some of the sparkle on 12th Street this summer.”
For food, patrons can enjoy a full dinner menu of Philadelphia and bar favorites outside of Finn McCools, including the well-known Philly Cheesesteak Eggrolls. Outside of the 114 S. 12th Street property, look for the grand debut of Luka Ma – featuring traditional Greek Loukoumades – little fluffy sweet honey balls, deep fried to golden perfection, and topped with your choice of eight different toppings. These are inspired by the authentic Greek holiday desserts inspired by Sourias’ own childhood with his big Greek family. This new sweet shop will also feature dessert empanadas, fried oreos and other tasty Christmas (and Christmas in July) inspired treats.
For cocktails, look for a selection of naughty and nice Christmas creations – including frozen mint “hot” chocolate, plus Grinch boozy pops. Ice cold craft beer, standard cocktails and other beverages will also be available. The popular Tinsel cocktail called Canned Good will return with a portion of the proceeds going to feed hospital workers as the country enters the second wave of the global pandemic. Several select drinks will arrive at tables safely in a Santa’s boot, a snow globe and other souvenir vessels.
Cocktails to go and food to go from Finn McCools, Tinsel and Luku Ma are available to go as well. Look for a new system to debut soon where patrons can place their order online and pick-up at a the Luka Ma window.
For guest seating, parties of four and six can reserve socially distanced cafe seating outside Finn McCools and Tinsel in the heart of the decorations. For seating in front of Luka Ma, look for tables of two for smaller groups looking to enjoy sweets and cocktails. For the grinches in the group, non-decorated full service dining on the Samson Street side of Finn McCools is available featuring oversized shaded umbrellas.
Reservations are required for all full service dinner tables to ensure time limits, social distancing and to avoid any lines and ques. For reservations for these full service dinner tables call Finn’s at (215) 923-3090. Seating at Luka Ma is first come, first serve.
For health and safety, Santa requires all guests must wear masks unless they are at a table, with absolutely no exceptions, otherwise they will make Santa’s naughty list and be asked to leave.Additional safety protocols include staff temperature checks, the mandatory wearing of masks, socially distanced tables, new cleaning procedures, and other new systems.
Tinsel in July was originally slated to debut for 12 days in July but CCG announces this will be open to the end of August or as interest remains – so that people don’t need to rush down. Sourias wants everyone to enjoy this hopeful and joyful project during this very stressful time.
“Don’t leave home for Tinsel in July without your mask,” said Sourias. “Masks are 100% required and the new normal for Tinsel in July and all of our properties. Also, remember, we are hear all summer long, so make your plans for July and August – and come when you are ready. We hope to lift up your spirits and have you leave with a big smize.”

Hot Winter Activities To Try In Nashville This Holiday Season
Even though Music City rarely dips below freezing in winter, there’s still lots of cool activities that will delight visitors this December. Check out the list below and plan some festive fun for the whole family! We found activities perfect for the Nashville natives as well as the lucky tourists visiting Music City during the most wonderful time of the year.
1) Gaylord Opryland’s “A Country Christmas”
ICE! Ice tends to feel twice as nice inside and you’ll experience tons of bundled-up festive fun as part of “Ice!” and many more of Gaylord Opryland’s “A Country Christmas” wintry mix of events. There’s a chill in the air as you walk throughout the 2 million pounds of sculptures – and it’s not just because How the Grinch Stole Christmas is this year’s theme. The room is kept at a steady nine degrees that features four two-story tall ice slides and a crystal-clear Nativity. Other activities you’ll flip over include ice skating on an 8,000 square-foot rink, ice tubing on the lawn, carriage rides and an on-so-sweet gingerbread decorating corner. You can enjoy a delicious meal and meet the Grinch while you’re feasting! The interactive dining experience includes a buffet of Who-ville- inspired items and table-side visits with The Grinch. There’s still more to discover and too many “A Country Christmas” events for which to quite capture the essence here so please visit the resort’s official site for all of the information your holiday heart desires. Many package deals and discounts are available for adults, children, military and more.
Elsewhere on Gaylord ground, every light in and outside (there’s at least 3 million of the holiday variety) of Gaylord Opryland’s house is on as country superstar Trace Adkins performs featured standards from his 2013 release The King’s Gift on select dates in the resort’s Tennessee Ballroom through Christmas Day. There’s even a special menu – featuring fare like “Noel” chocolate custard. Get your tickets HERE!

2) Walmart’s Holiday Spectacular
It may not be Santa Claus or Candy Cane Lane, but on December 17 the Walmart at 204 North Anderson Lane in Hendersonville intends to festively rival these names. How? Well if you follow the wheels on the loads of tour buses that typically go round and round you’ll find that they’re opening up their doors as part of the annual Christmas 4 Kids outreach in the store’s holi-dazed paradise of a parking lot. From 5 to 9PM, fans will get an opportunity to meet some stars and climb aboard their parked tour buses. The annual bus show raises money to fund holiday shopping sprees at Walmart for more than 400 local school children. Those scheduled to appear include 3 Doors Down, Adairs Run (who recently performed on USA Network’s Real Country); talented songstress Ashton Shepherd (with top 20 singles “Takin’ Off This Pain,” “Sounds So Good,” and “Look It Up” to her credit), Craig Wayne Boyd, Kimberly Schlapman of Little Big Town, Tennessee favorites The Young Fables (who’ve also performed on Real Country), Lee Greenwood, rockabilly renaissance man Eric Heatherly (whose new album Matchbook Rendezvous will be released next year) and many more. Hunter Hayes will be there for one hour only from 5-6PM. For the complete list please, click HERE!

3) The Oak Ridge Boys’ Shine the Light On Christmas Tour
Spruce things up with a special show from some iconic country crooners. The one-of-a-kind Oak Ridge Boys are wrapping their holiday tour season up in style as their popular Shine the Light On Christmas Tour arrives on December 23 at Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center. If the previews are any indication then the Boys are more prepared to pull out all the stops and then some at this jubilant event (presented without orchestra). This show is nearing sold-out status so hurry and get your tickets at nashvillesymphony.org to avoid a blue Christmas.

With a record that sounds straight out of the early Sun Studios recordings, The Oak Ridge Boys have added to their tremendous legacy with 17th Avenue Revival. Dave Cobb (Brandi Carlile, Chris Stapleton) keeps the production crisp and honest, true to the live recording rooms that first waded into rock and roll’s gospel-influenced waters. ~ Matt Conner @CCMMag (Buy link in bio.)

4)  Vince Gill and Amy Grant at the Ryman
Harmonious husband-and-wife duo Vince Gill and Amy Grant are settling in for so many of their famed Christmas shows at the “Mother Church” that they may as well be pitching a tent (or paying rent). Rodney Crowell, John Jorgensen and Hannah Sutherland open. Remaining dates of their 12 days/nights stand are December 16-20 and once more on the 23rd. “These holiday tours have become our favorites,” chimes Vince. Tickets HERE!

6) The Country Music of Hall of Fame and Museum
Hall aboard! The Country Music of Hall of Fame and Museum is gifting an impressive display of offerings to visitors during its Deck the Hall events. “Tour and Concert: A Legendary Holiday” gets underway December 15 with a tour of historic RCA Studio B and music from Jason Coleman and Meagan Taylor. Shake things up and make mini-museum exhibit snow globes in the Hall’s creative zone, or take in a movie with a screening of the legendary “Whisperin’” Bill Anderson’s 1968 A Country Christmas on December 23 from 11AM to noon. Speaking of flicks, on a (loosely) related note we would be remiss not to mention everyone’s favorite classic Christmas film Die Hard. It’s bursting onto the Belcourt screen with a vengeance on December 15 at midnight.
7) Bring Your Pets to Meet Santa!
If you’re in the vicinity of Goodlettsville and want to extend the warm and fuzzy feelings along to your furry friend then chin up! Good tidings for you. RiverGate Mall is hosting Pet Photos with Santa in front of JCPenney on December 18 from 6-9PM. It’s a special night just for pets and you can reserve your time online HERE!

8) The Old Crow Medicine Show
Feeling a dreary winter cold coming on? Cure it with a good fix from the Old Crow Medicine Show. On December 30 and 31 the much-beloved Americana-ian band of merrymakers are building a Nashville nest for themselves as the Opry-member and GRAMMY-winning group swoop into the Ryman Auditorium for a two-night residence to close out the year. Curious as to just what kind of raucous Ryman nights you might experience with these fowl folkists? Here’s a quote from lead vocalist Ketch Secor (upon OCMS’s Opry induction) to give a good glimpse.
“We the Old Crows are just so proud to be entrusted to carry on the traditions of the Grand Ole Opry’s good-natured riot.”
Their newest album Volunteer was released earlier this year and is available HERE. Tickets to both shows (featuring The War and Treaty) are available via Ryman.com.

ABOUT HANS ZIMMER
German-born composer Hans Zimmer is recognized as one of Hollywood’s most innovative musical talents‚ having first enjoyed success in the world of pop music as a member of The Buggles. The group’s single Video Killed the Radio Star became a worldwide hit and helped usher in a new era of global entertainment as the first music video to be aired on MTV. Zimmer entered the world of film music in London during a long collaboration with famed composer and mentor Stanley Myers‚ which included the film MY BEAUTIFUL LAUNDRETTE. He soon began work on several successful solo projects‚ including the critically acclaimed A World Apart‚ and during these years Zimmer pioneered the use of combining old and new musical technologies. Today‚ this work has earned him the reputation of being the father of integrating the electronic musical world with traditional orchestral arrangements. A turning point in Zimmer’s career came in 1988 when he was asked to score RAIN MAN for director Barry Levinson. The film went on to win the Oscar for Best Picture of the Year and earned Zimmer his first Academy Award Nomination for Best Original Score. The next year‚ Zimmer composed the score for another Best Picture Oscar recipient‚ DRIVING MISS DAISY‚ starring Jessica Tandy and Morgan Freeman. Having already scored two Best Picture winners‚ in the early ’90s Zimmer cemented his position as a pre-eminent talent with the award-winning score for THE LION KING. The soundtrack has sold over 15 million copies to date and earned him an Academy Award for Best Original Score‚ a Golden Globe‚ an American Music Award‚ a Tony and two Grammy Awards. In total‚ Zimmer’s work has been nominated for 7 Golden Globes‚ 7 Grammys and seven Oscars for RAINMAN‚ GLADIATOR‚ THE LION KING‚ AS GOOD AS IT GETS‚ THE PREACHERS WIFE‚ THE THIN RED LINE‚ THE PRINCE OF EGYPT and THE LAST SAMURAI. With his career in full swing‚ Zimmer was anxious to replicate the mentoring experience he had benefited from under Stanley Myers’ guidance. With state-of-the-art technology and a supportive creative environment‚ Zimmer was able to offer film-scoring opportunities to young composers at his Santa Monica-based musical ’think tank.’ This approach helped launch the careers of such notable composers as Mark Mancina‚ John Powell‚ Harry Gregson-Williams‚ Nick Glennie-Smith and Klaus Badelt. In 2000 Zimmer scored the music for GLADIATOR‚ for which he received an Oscar nomination‚ in addition to Golden Globe and Broadcast Film Critics Awards for his epic score. It sold more than three million copies worldwide and spawned a second album “Gladiator: More Music From The Motion Picture‚” released on the Universal Classics/Decca label. Zimmer’s other scores that year included MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 2‚ THE ROAD TO EL DORADO and AN EVERLASTING PIECE‚ directed by Barry Levinson. Some of his other impressive scores include PEARL HARBOR‚ THE RING‚4 films directed by Ridley Scott; MATCHSTICK MEN‚ HANNIBAL‚ BLACK HAWK DOWN and THELMA & LOUISE‚ Penny Marshall’s RIDING IN CARS WITH BOYS AND A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN‚ Quentin Tarantino’s TRUE ROMANCE‚ TEARS OF THE SUN‚ Ron Howard’s BACKDRAFT‚ DAYS OF THUNDER‚ Smilla’s SENSE OF SNOW and the animated SPIRIT: STALLION OF THE CIMARRON for which he also co-wrote four of the songs with Bryan Adams‚ including the Golden Globe nominated “Here I Am.” At the 27th annual Flanders International Film Festival‚ Zimmer performed live for the first time in concert with a 100-piece orchestra and a 100-piece choir. Choosing selections from his impressive body of work‚ Zimmer performed newly orchestrated concert versions of GLADIATOR‚ MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 2‚ RAIN MAN‚ THE LION KING‚ and THE THIN RED LINE. The concert was recorded by Decca and released as a concert album entitled "The Wings Of A Film: The Music Of Hans Zimmer." In 2003‚ Zimmer completed his 100th film score for the film THE LAST SAMURAI‚ starring Tom Cruise‚ for which he received both a Golden Globe and a Broadcast Film Critics nomination. Over the past year‚ Zimmer has scored Nancy Meyers’ comedy SOMETHING’S GOTTA GIVE‚ the animated Dreamworks film‚ A SHARK’S TALE (featuring voices of Will Smith‚ Renee Zellweger‚ Robert De Niro‚ Jack Black and Martin Scorsese)‚ and most recently‚ Jim Brooks’ SPANGLISH starring Adam Sandler and Tea Leoni (for which he also received a Golden Globe nomination). His projects also include Paramount’s WEATHERMAN starring Nicolas Cage‚ Dreamworks’ MADAGASCAR and Warner Bros.’ BATMAN BEGINS. Zimmer’s additional honors and awards include the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award in Film Composition from the National Board of Review‚ and the Frederick Loewe Award in 2003 at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. He has also received ASCAP’s Henry Mancini Award for Lifetime Achievement.
