(slight spoilers for ISAT, but just broad stuff no details)

I can't tell if it's because I'm a biased super fan of In Stars and Time or if it's just because due to work I had to space my playthrough of it out over the course of a week or so, but I keep reading reviews that say "wow this is really good but it does have a repetitive section later on in the game, so I'll understand if you can't deal with that!!" and every time I see it I'm just like???? I have no idea what section anyone is talking about????

I don't think I found the game repetitive at any stage. I might have just gotten lucky on that last "guess which route you need to take" section, but even then I went back and double checked the other passages just cause I was curious about what was there. Which you're rewarded for doing, like the extra good scene you get with Bonnie for checking the book and you do need to get into the astronomy room in the story ANYWAY so you gotta know it's there. And I'm a chronic dialogue hunter so every loop through I'd still double check everything for A) New dialogue, usually from Siffrin, which the game was very good about rewarding me for and B) because I kept trying to trigger that scene that's in the prologue where if you act weird enough your friends will confront you about it (I never did trigger this, but I read somewhere that you can if you also check the wishology and timeology craft books in the same loop?). And this is coming from someone who did a full run with everyone's personal quests done like. Three times. And I hardly ever fast forwarded until near the very end of playthrough and unless something was on the third floor I would just go in through the front door on most loops. So I gotta politely disagree with reviews saying some parts of it get repetitive!

REALLY want to legit learn how to sew. I can't just buy myself things for various reasons, so I'm always looking at, like, how to make dinner with random shit around the house, how to alter clothes since they WILL fit differently from 2013 (because I only own old things and hand me downs), how to repair things at home, and I really just want to have things I like to wear without resorting to fast fashion or even shipping stuff to my friends and picking it up that way. I bought one jacket off of amazon as my, like, single purchase of the last five months and I feel really bad about it (which is silly and I know it, but alas), and I just really want to be able to sew actual garments on my own. Do I need another hobby right now? Not really but we'll see.

if June was raised in a parish but later taken in by the goodnights (he's a fringe bastard), he wouldn't be able to align with how the family runs. this leads to his cousin gamorrah pointing out a run down old Church on his property in appalachia like hey, if you're too Catholic for running a family business come do this instead.

which means June meets Gamorrah best friend and couch sleeper, lucky- who is spooky in a very similar way- and stokes Gamorrah boyfriend nates religious roots into very likely attending mass. this could give him new community resources for taking care of his mother, mary may!

this ALSO means June meets Travis, who lives way out in the hills on the only plot of land for miles the goodnights couldn't poach. he uses the bible in his witchcraft but doesn't like traveling into Genesis, so a church halfway down the mtn instead? and on his lover Nero's old farm, at that?

Travis and June are like the perfect friends. perfect conversational compatibility. lucky and June would have a crazy relationship between junes ability to impress his desires onto others like reverse empathy, and Lucky's ability to communicate with spirits- esp those inhabiting the parish June is restoring. lucky lives his life "yes and-"ing the spirits he speaks to so junes influence is like 1 for 1 and June is very creatively driven to restore the spring and the direct input from the residing spirits is a GREAT inspiration for him.

this also ties Gamorrah and Nero in closer- they're cousins, but the goodnight family is very very large and spread out across the country so it's a good excuse to bond fr!

& Reggie frequently visits jackalshide to hang out with hunter and ruben, so going up the mountain to Genesis (jackalshides larger sister town) means plausibly running into June! his soulmate! thereby weaving him into all their weird little dynamics too, and making him more available as a positive role model and support system to hunter!!!

also it's not relevant but I also want to throw in the idea of June meeting Abel, who's the son of the preacher at the local snake church in Genesis, bc I think it would be funny. June has some interesting snake symbolism in some aus...
