Hi there. I found your fic, Exit Wound and it's wondrous. I found it nearing it's end, wondering many a day and nights what the ending would be like at Chapter 29: Sight. Unfortunately, life got a little busy but now that I finally had time, I read the last chapters and I feel nothing short of wonder, joy, anticipation and inspiration.
Your writing was beautiful with a storyline that leaves images flitting through my mind as if I was right there in the story, watching and feeling it all. I cried, sobbed, laughed and smiled with them, feeling fear and relief when they felt it in their moments. The start pulled me in, drawing me to read further, push deeper and understand the lore of this story. The middle of the whole story gave me so many emotions that it gave me whiplash—in a good way. The ending has me burning alight with fear, anticipation, worry and interest.
I only know of a few backstories, gleamed from other fanfictions I've read while going down the GhostSoap tag on Ao3 but the characters were well chosen for their roles, matching up similarly to what I've seen from the bare bits of clips (mostly GhostSoap, I admit without shame) . I admit again, I didn't expect El Sin Nombre to take the role they did or for so many characters to appear and draw me in so effortlessly. I met many new characters in this story, found the old familiar ones and learned more of them along the journey in this story. It appears I'll have some research of my own to do in this fandom before I'm fully invested, seeing as I only know the reboot (my favourite version no less).
I won't say much, as is proper no spoilers etiquette, but I adored your fic all the way through and still do. I'll be revisiting it again and again, but oh, what I wouldn't give to travel through this marvellous story again for the first time. I may or may not have lost a few nights' worth of sleep, but the dreams that followed of the scenes you painted with words were worth every second.
Although I'm not all that invested in the Call of Duty fandom, your story drew me in with the details, the carefully written characters and the plot of the story.
If I ever do decide to write a story in the fandom of CoD, please know that you are my biggest inspiration for it.
Sincerely,
A new Ao3 user too shy to comment.
PS: Sorry for the long ask. And many more apologies for the messy message ":]
Oh my god, Nonnie. I have no words to express how much joy your ask brought me when I opened the app this morning for my morning paper read.
I'm sitting here staring at your ask with a blue to my cheeks and I want to hide my face and kick my feet because I don't know how to respond to such incredibly kind and heartwarming words?
I am so happy that my story managed to make you feel things and that I didn't bore you half to death with all my detours. I am so glad to hear that the wide array of characters I pulled in from other Call of Duty franchises (& comic backstories) felt like they fit in.
I'm sorry I caused sleepless nights, but if the price for those were dreams that you consider worth it, then I'll retract my apology.
I am so immensely honored to have been on the receiving end of such a message, filled with praise that might actually make me cry. So thank you, sweetheart. From the bottom of my heart ♥
If you ever write something, please, send it my way, I would love nothing more than to read it. And if you ever feel comfortable to not be too shy anymore, my DMs are always open and I don't bite - much ;)
I can't wait to take your hand through another Call of Duty adventure. I can't promise it'll be as good as this story was, but I can promise that it'll be an entrancing ride nonetheless ♥

PINKSHIFT: BRITSHIFT
22.08.2023 @ The Deaf Institute, Manchester (250 Capacity)
Written Sept 2023
@lovepinkshiftforever, a rock band hailing from Baltimore originally started out as a way to pass the time in college as all 3 members were all studying at Johns Hopkins University (college), but when they started to gain traction in the scene they ultimately decided to pursue music as a viable career. I've been a fan of the band since their first EP. My sister was (and still is) absolutely obsessed with the band and I caved when ‘Saccharine’ was released in 2021. Following that, they released their debut album ‘Love Me Forever’ in October 2022 which saw them shift from punk rock to a heavier mainstream rock feel, whilst still remaining true to their original sound. As a band made of 3 people of colour, it means so much to me, especially as the lead singer, Ashrita is non-binary and also from India. They’re raising the bar for what it means to be a rock band and I will applaud them always for it.
Similarly to Beth’s gig in Birmingham, I was able to gain access to the venue to watch the bands’ setup & watch soundcheck. Not only was I able to watch Pinkshift, but their opening bands too. One of which, Gender Crisis, was slightly heavier but they seemed like really nice people and had a really cool vibe - I’ll definitely keep an eye out. I sat right behind the sound desk, which meant that I could see the EQ curve when the technician placed high and low-end EQ on every instrument & see exactly what was going on.
Troi Music & Gender Crisis opened for the band, making an amazing show even better. All 3 bands were spectacular and the vibe of the show as a whole was incredible. The crowd was really friendly and accommodating. So much so, my sister was able to come back from her spot at the front during pinkshift’s set, to the back (in the tiered seating) and drag me to the front for the remainder of the show leaving our bags too, without a single worry.
After the gig, all three acts came out to talk with people & continue selling merch. Due to this, @artbyamixx was able to give the band a zine booklet she’s made for the band based on ‘Love Me Forever’ with a page for every song with newspaper clippings and doodles plastered all over the pages. We were also able to talk to Ashrita about their upcoming EP and how we've related to it - their most recent releases lead up to the ‘Suraksha’ EP, that’ll be released in October. The songs talk about grief and the pain & love that comes with it and as we’ve all gone through a similar process this last year. It hit us so hard that my sister and I were physically sobbing during ‘To me’ which focuses on the fact that grief & pain can bring people together just as much as love & joy, if not, more. It’s a beautiful song that matches the band's style really well.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, The Deaf Institute is my favourite venue, I’ve loved every show I’ve been to there (granted, this was only my 3rd) & to experience what goes on behind the scenes with one of my favourite bands was an absolute dream come true.

Might copy and paste the text here later from my Twitter thread where I expressed why I enjoyed it, but I recently read My Little Poplar and ended up liking Bai Xinyu and Yu Fengcheng quite a bit!
Yu Fengcheng’s eventual regret was honestly written really well, and the relationship between the two leads has good chemistry. 👌
Even better is that it features Jian Suiying, who I also have gotten weirdly attached to???
Like objectively the book Jian Suiying comes from, In Love With an Idiot, has its flaws. Or rather, it employs tropes that really aren’t for everyone, which includes the main couple fighting constantly (so it’s basically fighting and then fucking and then fighting and then fucking and you get the idea), and it gets kind of overdramatic at times, as some very angsty-type stories can be—whether they’re from China (known as “dog blood” stories) or not.
I even found it a little silly that so many were so obsessed with Jian Suiying, and yet…
Here I am now, sliiiightly obsessed with him. 🤡😂
It’s just that! As I mentioned on my Twitter, he’s so unique for a shou/bottom/uke character!! Before he met Li Yu, he was always the top, and he’s sexually confident and pretty intelligent and ruthless and…well, temperamental. He does admittedly have a charm to him that works and I find it pretty amazing the author managed to predict that, since so many characters in her novels adore him BDMGIHSKD.
Even his red flags give him charm, because while he is problematic, the red flags make him an intriguing character. The author does a pretty good job at balancing the different aspects of him that make him technically infuriating and yet also compelling.
His charm is further boosted by the fact there’s actually a clip of one of his VAs just trying to cheer you up if you’re sad?? Like hello??? 🥺
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It is no longer a surprise to me that Li Yu ended up so obsessed with Jian Suiying. 😆
Also I’ll note now the last image is actually by the My Little Poplar manhua artist while the others are from the manhua adaptation of Jian Suiying’s own novel! I like how the manhua artist draws him quite a bit since it feels so him. I’ve seen fan art and they sometimes feature him smaller and thus not domineering enough, even though they usually show him with the same hairstyle—which makes for a fun tangent on its own since danmei designs can be a bit “basic,” so when one specific design becomes a recognizable look for a character, I find it pretty cool.
In fact, one of my favourite details in My Little Poplar was watching Yu Fengcheng be very frustrated with how much Bai Xinyu looked up to Jian Suiying. 🤭
Also just seeing him show up always made me go “yay!” because it’s so fun getting to see him again, especially as part of his story aligns with My Little Poplar (as in the plots of both novels happen somewhat concurrently).
Similarly, the manhua adaptation, My Beloved Fool, has a really nice art style and I really like that the artist always lets Jian Suiying shine by really dressing him up. He and Shi Qi from Trap a Vicious Dog (another series I want to ramble about on why I’m enjoying it so far) are two manhua protagonists I know of who are like…confident smart corporate bosses that get stylish fits almost every manhua chapter, which is a nice detail ahaha.
My Beloved Fool has recently hit the heavy angst section of the novel so it’ll be depressing to follow for a while since you’ll just watch Li Yu fall apart as Jian Suiying suffers absolute hell. 😔
youtube
Someone even uploaded the first season of the vomic version of the manhua on YouTube. 👀
Similarly, I’m really excited for the My Little Poplar manhua to get to all the good bits of the story there, since Bai Xinyu develops a lot as a character and I find Yu Fengcheng’s regret especially well done. But evidently it’ll take quite some time to get there; first we have to get past the military bullying alfndkfjjss.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway the actual reason I started typing this out before I spiralled into another huge ramble asjakfl is that I found In Love With an Idiot and My Little Poplar audio dramas on YouTube!!
I’d heard some In Love With an Idiot audio clips from something that some fans had shared to YouTube before, but it sounds like those clips were from a completely different audio drama than the one I landed on. I’m especially excited about the My Little Poplar one. Even if it’s not extremely high quality (I think Bing Xing Xia Deng aka Inferior by Nature aka The Selfish Gene has admittedly spoiled me because it was so high quality 😆), it’s still fun hearing these characters come to life aurally.
Even more so since iirc I saw a Twitter post saying the My Little Poplar and In Love With an Idiot got taken down officially, so they may only be accessible via online reuploads right now. I can’t find the post to confirm, but if true, I’m glad someone preserved them. 🙏
Update: I did find the other version’s VAs of the In Love With an Idiot audio drama! Except it’s maybe a…sequel? Where a Li Yu of the past transmigrates 5 years into the future when Li Yu and Jian Suiying are a couple?? It’s on MaoEr FM…and it’s for free. 👁️
In fact, I could totally ramble about the Bing Xing Xia Deng audio drama—which I already have for a friend, so I can just copy and paste that long-ass (slightly more incoherent because it’s a lot of fangirling) wall of text here haha. I am currently very obsessed with that series too because it really is high quality and I like how it evolved the novel it’s adapting, but my friend is the expert on it so I feel a bit more shy about sharing my thoughts sometimes.
Welp that went on quite a number of tangents but yeah. I’ve enjoyed these novels and I’m very happy they got audio dramas and that they are still out there to be enjoyed after everything. 🥺💕
OH and final note but…the fun fact about the 188男团 aka 188 Group, which is the overall series Jian Suiying and Bai Xinyu belong to (so-called because it’s 10 novels that share a universe and all feature (scum) gongs of 188 cm) got sort of made into an “actual” 男团, aka a boy band/group! I found the couple (?) songs they released and some fan songs and it’s nice seeing them all “singing” together alfjskfjs.

An English translation can be found here!

Me when I spy Jian Suiying, Li Yu, Yu Fengcheng, and Bai Xinyu especially in the MVs: 🥺

Opinion on drag queens? I can’t stand them tbh
im glad you asked tbh bc frankly i can’t really pinpoint my feelings entirely on them, its changed a lot over the years. when i was a 17-20 i was a HUGE drag race fan and i watched the show and posted on the subreddit, and this was when i first started exploring radical feminism so i wasnt unaware of the critiques going on about them here either. i guess back then i thought it was all in good fun. then a few years ago i lost interest in the show and like you i couldnt stand them anymore, i wrote them all off as overrated, sexist and tasteless caricatures of overblown femininity at best and actual degrading pornographic hateful stereotypes of women at worst (i considered then and now drag queens like trixie mattel, katya, detox icunt and raven to be the worst in this regard).
nowadays… im somewhere in the middle. while i dont know if i personally would go so far as to call it art (at least no more than i would consider the performance of femininity itself an ‘art’) i understand that it has its own history amongst gay men and i do think some of it has genuine merit as performance art - as in, some queens do put in the effort to make their own costumes, do their own choreography, etc. but on the other hand for that, if it is going to be evaluated as a performance art, then like other forms of art it should absolutely be held to the same standards of criticism, and shouldnt be shielded from that criticism just bc its an art created primarily by a marginalized group of gay men (or HST trans women). and thats where the very real feminist critiques on the misogyny in drag comes in, and it disgusts me that any concerns women have are written off as us being joykills or no better than conservative pukes or whatever. gay men are still capable of being misogynist towards women so it shouldnt be surprising at all that a good portion of drag queens are performing a sexist caricature of women (like the ones i mentioned above, those are considered to be the most famous and successful, go figure).
i think what really cemented this view in my mind was this clip that went viral awhile ago of this drag queen running around in a public space with this huge ridiculous floppy breastplate that was bouncing around… but then he ran into this group of children and he IMMEDIATELY cringed and covered himself. and it kinda just clicked for me for how weird some of this is, in a way that nobody but feminists were talking about. you have this grown man gleefully running around with this gross and porny and realistic looking piece of womens flesh worn over his body, because thats supposed to be funny and entertaining, and everyone takes it a face value and doesnt wonder what that says about how we view womens bodies?
i think the conservative backlash towards them in general is massively overblown, i dont think drag queens are in themselves inappropriate to be near children because feminine men are not inappropriate, altho i do think naked men or men wearing realistic breast plates or fetish gear ARE inappropriate to be around children, but thats just common sense lol, and yet both leftists and right wing morons fail to grasp this, that not all drag is child friendly, and similarly that some drag is misogynistic as well. (alot of them are mostly overrated as performers too…)
so yeah tldr i have mixed feelings towards them that can be best summed up as a passive annoyance or ambivalence. i agree that some of its very misogynistic and offensive, but that it varies from queen to queen. im sorry if this was meandering, im still trying to figure out my feelings towards them, and im hoping i can find some more feminist critiques on them to help me gather my thoughts towards them better lol

I've noticed something: The Cars films have dealt with the Piston Cup as it has been from 2006-present, and we do see some flashback footage to the 50s. We arguably know a good chunk of the 80s & 90s-era Piston Cup racers from the first race of the first film. The fandom occasionally discusses the 70s in the context of Strip Weathers, and he represents that decade. But we never see or hear of, and have no names for, any racers from the 60s. Who were they, and what was that era of the cup like?
In spite of the fact that the 60s represents the beginning of a more "formal" NASCAR (in the sense that many of the tracks we use today have their origins in this era, rather than in the moonshine-running, beach-racing era), and that it's probably reasonable to assume that this is similarly true of the Piston Cup, I imagine the 60s were struggle years, from which few legends emerged.
That's probably part of why The King was able to enjoy such a long tenure in the sport: He saved it. And where Superbirds had a relatively short NASCAR career, clearly we see The King racing well into the modern era in the Piston Cup. I'd be willing to bet that in addition to the Piston Cup's body-style rules being generally much more loosey-goosey, no one wanted to outlaw a car that was keeping the Piston Cup alive, nearly single-handedly. What does parity mean in the face of spectacle, and of the ability to sell tickets to cars who wanted to see The King fly? You can't clip his wings.
When Lightning came into the picture, I imagine the story was following similar beats: Unlike NASCAR, the Piston Cup probably didn't have a 90s revival--it had no Jeff Gordon. Jeff Gorvette raced in a different series in the Carsverse. It didn’t even really seem to have a Dale Sr. (nor, in any meaningful way, a Dale Jr. Not to the extent that NASCAR does). It had The King, and it had Chick. And without a third upset player, that game of cat and mouse can only see you through so many decades. The Piston Cup Lightning came into was probably a racing series on the brink--and in need of lighting in a bottle, so to speak. Why else would the only reasonable solution to the end of the season be a very weird, geographically distant 3-car tiebreaker race? The Cup needed this.
It's part of why the Next Gens took the Cup so incredibly by surprise. It thought it was settling in for another King-esque era--but it wasn't.
So, to return to the 60s? The 60s had no heroes. They'd made a mistake, retiring the Hudson Hornet--they hadn't yet found salvation in the Superbird. They were lean years. Plenty of racing, plenty of passion. More deaths than is polite to count, or fiscally responsible to advertise. If there's one rule in racing, it's that you can't focus on your failures. Move on to the next race. What happened in the 60s in the Piston Cup is a story the Piston Cup won't tell. If it's to be told, someone else will have to take an interest--and that someone will have to tell it in a way powerful enough to stand against the way the Piston Cup has always been written, and has taken great care in imagining itself.

Medieval Banjo (Nude) | (they/them) | Clip Studio Paint EX
Here’s a medieval-inspired portrait of my little cat-bird beast, Banjo!
I started teaching myself how to draw similarly to how some of the art around the 14th century or so looks! Specifically, I want to replicate the funky looking, mostly flat art where a lot of the animals looked really funny & maybe not that accurate to how the animal actually looks!
[ID: A digital drawing of Banjo, an anthropomorphic cat-bird beast, depicted as a medieval ink drawing on a yellowed & paper-like background.
They are framed by a dark blue square frame with rough-looking off-white circles decorating the frame. Inside the frame is the drawing of Banjo in front of a wide, spaced out, green, cross-hatch patterned background. Off-white dots in clusters of three & rough-looking, earthy, yellow stars are evenly spaced out around Banjo.
Banjo themself is nude & is facing our left with their arms in a “t-rex” like pose, their farthest leg is lifted up & their closest leg is extended downwards. Banjo’s wings are open & their tail curves out to our right. They have a soft smile on their face, looking slightly away from the viewer, slightly to our upper left.
The artist’s signature, “Rachel Martin,” as well as the date the art was made, “March first, twenty-twenty three,” are both written as medieval-styled calligraphy at the bottom. End ID]

The Fever King
I picked up The Fever King after seeing a post by @apollo-cackling pitching is as having excellent character writing if you're not put off by some plot holes and a lot of content warnings (apologies if I've misremembered any of that) and I don't think I can give a more accurate recommendation than that but I can ramble about the book.
It's a YA novel set in one of the independent states that emerged after the collapse of the USA and the emergence of magic (I'd gloss the magic as basically superpowers caused by a virus). Unusually for this type of novel while focused on America it actually acknowledges the existence of the rest of the world. Primarily Europe but that's still more than 99% of the type manage.
The characters are great. The protagonist Noam along with Dara, Ames and Calix Lehrer are all well developed characters. There's a lot to dig in to with them.
The extended cast is less interesting. Half of the most compelling characters outside of those four are long dead before the novel starts. But given the brief length of the book I think focusing in on a handful of characters was the right choice.
Every few chapters is interspersed with text from an in universe document (letters, transcripts, newspapers clippings, etc). I love in universe documents being included in a text but they have to have a degree of verisimilitude. The documents here generally feel like something that could really have been written.
The information given in them does feel somewhat obviously constructed to let us learn more about the setting and background without giving the game away but the historical record in the setting has been similarly shaped so it's not without justification.
The worldbuilding is potentially interesting but didn't get enough focus to really grab me. It might be further developed in later book but at this point it feels undercooking.
One thing I did like is that it didn't feel the need to give definitive answers to everything about the setting. Too many SFF authors think they need to dump a lore bible into their book. Maybe that's only avoided here because the world isn't the focus but I did enjoy not having everything spelt out and piecing together how much of the official narrative was lies and what the truth might look like.
The main character describes himself as a Marxist and another characters directly quotes Lenin and I kept expecting it to get into more overt political commentary (beyond stating that xenophobia/fascism is bad) but it never really does.
The politics in the book, both in terms of the structure of the society and the character's political opinions, seem to exist more in the service of character work than to make any complex political statements. This isn't a flaw but will probably effect people's enjoyment one way or the other so it's worth pointing out.
Before I started reading I saw another post by @apollo-cackling that it's a hard book to talk about without getting into spoilers for the final chapters which I definitely agree with. The first thing that's recontextualized by later revelations is literally in the first few lines of the book and before the first chapter even starts. Which does make it a little hard to discuss the book with people who haven't read it!
It's not a hard to read work and it's short enough so if it sounds interesting to you maybe give it a shot.

Social Media's Impact: The Swing Factor in Job Hunting
Tumblr media
Social media has evolved beyond the sharing of cute pet pictures and recipe clips; it's now an indispensable resource for employers worldwide. Business News Daily reveals that 70% of hiring managers vet candidates through their social media accounts, even if they aren't provided by the applicants. In the fiercely competitive job market of today, your digital persona could be the deciding factor in landing your dream job. Therefore, let's discuss several key aspects to consider regarding your social media presence in your quest to secure the ideal position. Making it Looking professional all around Discover how your social media profile can swing the odds in your favor during a job hunt. Master the game with our tips! #JobHunt #SocialMediaImpactClick To Tweet Establishing a robust network and an impressive LinkedIn profile can certainly create a positive impact on prospective employers. However, that's just the start. According to Forbes, around 65% of employers review social media platforms to assess an applicant's professional demeanor. Therefore, ensuring a professional appearance across all your social media accounts such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter can enhance your online persona, making it more attractive to recruiters. Participating in industry conversations Maintaining a professional image online involves more than just a polished profile; active participation in industry dialogues can significantly enhance your standing. By commenting on the latest industry news and trends via tweets or posts, you portray yourself as an engaged and thoughtful professional. Expressing and sharing your perspectives on industry shifts demonstrates your passion for the field and indicates that you have a valuable contribution to make to potential employers. "While traditional sites such as Monster.com and SimplyHired.com continue their reign in the job marketplace, people are supplementing their searches there with the vastly more diverse set of social networking sites. Strategically using both social media and job search sites can propel your ability to uncover opportunities in ways unheard of just a few years ago." - TopResume Grammatically correct posts Although it may seem trivial, proofreading your posts can positively affect your chances of getting a job. When recruiters check your social profiles and find grammatical errors or poorly worded sentences, it may give them the impression that you lack good communication skills or worse that you’re incapable of putting in the effort. In contrast, having well-written sentences can make it seem like you’re the type to think before you post. This, in turn, makes your job application more attractive to employers. Breaking it Inappropriate posts Even a single inappropriate post on your social media platforms can jeopardize your chances of landing an interview. According to Jobvite's Social Recruiting Survey, 70% of recruiters admit that sexually suggestive posts adversely affect an applicant's candidacy. Similarly, online references to illegal drugs repel 83% of recruiters, and 66% express the same sentiment towards profanity. As a guideline, here at CareerAlley, we advise that you refrain from posting any content that you wouldn't want your mother to see. This includes pictures from a rowdy night out or tweets laden with profanity. Unprofessional connections While it's typically acceptable to be Facebook friends with anyone and everyone, the same principle does not apply to LinkedIn. Special Counsel advises crafting a professional LinkedIn profile with meaningful connections in your industry. Aim to limit the number of less professional connections, such as family members, your hairdresser, or the staff at your local coffee shop. This recommendation is based on the fact that your connections are a reflection of your professional network. Consequently, the quality of your connections can be a deciding factor in whether you're granted a second interview. Inconsistencies with your application It's straightforward to assert your organization and attention to detail in your cover letter. However, it's essential that your social media accounts echo these claims. For example, if recruiters see a selfie with a cluttered room in the background on your Instagram, it could convey a conflicting message. Of course, honesty in your application is paramount, but consistency in your narrative and discretion about your posts are also important. Ultimately, understanding that making alterations to your online behavior isn't overly challenging is crucial. It merely necessitates a degree of consideration and responsibility—attributes beneficial in other life areas as well. In an era where private spaces are diminishing, being cognizant of what you reveal to the public is essential, particularly when potential employers are part of your audience. Righting a Misconception
So, I was talking to my brother the other day, and his response woke me to a perception issue others have toward REVERSE SPEECH. I want to categorically clear up this misconception.
I told him I had just made X amount of dollars in a couple of days with Reverse Speech and how stoked I was. He paused and asked me if I had seen the video where Listening to it you heard one thing said forward and then when someone wrote what they were hearing below it you would hear that said, and if the original interpretation was then written under the video you would then hear that again in the video. Meaning that it sounded like it could be saying several different things in the same clip, depending on which version was written in text below and in conjunction with hearing the audio.
I told him it wasn't the same thing and then went on. But I did not express the differences very well. So, I am endeavoring to do that here.
The reason why that is not the same thing is that we do intensive vetting of these reversals. This is not a " kinda sounds like " situation where RS is employed. We Have a rigorous scientific protocol for documenting reversals. That is why the classes are so intense, and the reason it takes so long to get it right.
First off, There are checkpoints that must be met in order for anything to be considered a legitimate reversal, and if the audio can be interpreted to say something else then it is not a documentable option. This means we throw it out(no matter how much work we put into it).
Number 1 is called 'complementarity', this means that the message heard in reverse must have a connection to the subject being spoken of in the forward, conscious, dialog. and i mean , usually to the very words we find the reversal in: we place brackets around the forward speech the reversal is behind.
so say this [is The senten]ce...the reversal would be contained in the bracketed forward speech.
Number 2 is syllable count. There must actually be the correct amount of distinguishable syllables for what you think you are hearing. Not 1 less, not 1 more. we listen at different speeds and we slow stuff WAAAAY down to be sure we are exact about this.
Number 3 is vowel and consonant sounds, similarly we slow things way down for this, If you cannot hear every consonant and vowel in the correct order for what you think you are hearing then it is not a legitimate reversal and cannot be documented.
Number 4 is the beginning and endings of the words. It has to be accurate. If they aren't there then it is not a legitimate reversal.
Number 5 there needs to be legitimate space between the words. You cannot pick apart a long line of gibberish and make it say the words you want. the words will contain actual spacing to make words and sentences.
Number 6 is distinction. When you run it backward over a section of the conversation in reverse the words will literally jump out at you after they have been found. the jumping out is how we locate the beginning of a reversal. then we listen around it to see what else we can hear to get the message. sometimes it is just a single word. that is not a reversal, and we do not document that except in some rare situations.
Number 7 is a melodious tone. in most situations, the genuine reversal will carry a melodious tone and a beat that can be identified
Number 8 it must be grammatically correct. If the grammar sounds like an idiot speaking, then it is not a quantifiable reversal and it is unacceptable.
So, there you have it. in some cases you can relax a little bit of a rule here and there, for instance, if someone always drops their g's in conversation then they will not pronounce them in reverse.
This is not something that kind of sounds like someone is saying one thing but it really could be this other thing. It is not an almost, it is precise.
I am going to put in one example, and I believe it will sufficiently relate what I am trying to present to yall here.
This is Pastor Arnold Murray. At the end of his daily lesson he opens mail and answers questions. In this instance the lady opened with a joke, and Pastor Murray responds, in reverse, to the joke.
This what the documentation looks like
F1: [but im young in the lord, well thats just fantastic, uh]/well i guess that helps someone, oh we'd be lying madam R1: i guess that helps someone, oh we'd be lying madam. F = 0:00:00 to 0:00:08, R = 0:00:01 to 0:00:05

Bokutachi no Remake ぼくたちのリメイク
Plot: Life is not going well for 28-year-old Kyouya Hashiba. Having left his office job to pursue a career in the video game industry, his internship at a popular game studio abruptly ends, leaving him unemployed and forcing him to move back in with his parents. Additionally, his jealousy toward the success of the "Platinum Generation"—a group of similarly-aged creators—has caused him to regret his decision to attend a traditional university instead of an arts college. Even though he believes there are no second chances in life, Kyouya is suddenly given one when he wakes up one day and finds himself 10 years in the past.
Instead of choosing business school like he originally had, Kyouya decides to pursue his passions and attends the Oonaka University of Art. There, he meets classmate Eiko Kawasegawa, the woman who had hired him as an intern in the present, alongside his new housemates and future Platinum Generation members: underachieving artist Aki Shino, aspiring singer and actress Nanako Kogure, and naturally-gifted writer Tsurayuki Rokuonji.
With each project they complete together, Kyouya and his friends venture closer to discovering their true potential as creators and remaking their lives into the ideal versions they desire. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
Episodes: 12
Main Characters:
Hashiba Kyouya
Shino Aki
Kogure Nanako
Rokuonji Tsurayuki
Kawasegawa Eiko
Points: 6,5/10 [6,5625]
Once again someone goes back into the past to do something he wanted to do, but couldn’t or just didn’t do because it didn’t seem to be a logical decision at that time. Either way, for some reason or another (thanks for that, story writer), Kyouya is suddenly thrown into the past. Yes, he wakes up and whoops, his desired art university acceptance letter has arrived. This time around he takes the chance to reach what he truly desires: to create art.
Tumblr media
The premise reminded me of ReLife, which I enjoyed quite a bit. ReLife was more about human bonds, growing as a person and less about sudden love and weird time jumps that make absolutely no sense. Yes, I didn’t really enjoy Bokutachi no Remake much, it honestly started to make less sense with each episode being aired. It’s not even half as profound and deep as ReLife, it really just conveys one message: live your dreams, try whatever you want to try, even if it may seem illogical. You only have one life, live it to the fullest.
And here Kyouya desired to be an artist rather than a simple office worker. Like Kyouya, the characters are the dore, the entire drive of the story and honestly, there is not much to say. The main character honestly doesn’t receive much development since he’s constantly busy with holding all 4 of his friends together who are a bunch of very different individuals. The development is also cut insanely short, because suddenly the anime adapts a perspective of a different future where all 4 are mostly separated and we have not even a single clue what happened in the meantime. While the idea is interesting, I can’t fathom why the anime took this approach.
Neither did the love triangle impact me at all. Kyouya was always a big fan of Aki, in his future where she was an artist, and suddenly, kaboomski, she was in love with him, too. Who needs development and logic again? They may have worked well together and he was truly nice and motivative, but for them to be suddenly married was perhaps a step too much into the future…
Tumblr media
Nanako on the other hand was left forgotten in the second part. Her story was perhaps the most interesting one, as she as a mediocre singer wanted to hit big, wanted to do her best. She was truly passionate and all we see of her is a short clip. But we don’t really get to see or hear her, in retrospect she only ended up as a tool for Kyouya to remember his past and to stand his ground. She was perhaps just an inspiration.
Same goes for Tsurayuki. When it started to get interesting, when real conflicts finally arrived, the time jump happened and everything was nowhere near resolved. Nonetheless the realism of the working world was well captured, perhaps even the highlight as we could watch a gaming company develop a game and a bunch of kids working in teams which always sparks a lot of chaos.
Tumblr media
The anime suffers from not being continued right now, perhaps also from having no explanation for time jumps. My opinion might be swayed, if a second season comes around to show what happened before the time jump, to actually give us an insight on why all of this even happened in the first place.
If you like Waifus and Titties, you can give this anime a try, too. The fanservice is uncalled for and absolutely useless. This doesn’t make up for plot holes. Neither does the beach episode. It honestly made me question why time has to be wasted on nothing in particular. This could have been used for proper character development.
It’s overall a decent watch, but I wouldn’t exactly recommend it, even if you’re into slice-of-life.

I've just been re looking at the Nativity premier photos with David and Marc W as well as the outtakes from the movie (and also other clips/photographs with other dudes) and I really do think that David loves to be manhandled by bigger men.
Totally with you on this, Anon. It’s funny, because David is quite tall, but for all his height, he gives off some serious “little spoon” energy. I’ve written previously on my blog about David having a thing for a certain type of men--men who are a bit thicker than he is, strong but soft, and who can dominate him but also take care of him...and I would say Michael Sheen fits all of the above to a fucking tee.
And the thing is, I do think there is a marked difference between Michael and other bigger men that David has enjoyed being manhandled by in the past. I elaborated on this a bit in this post and this post, but basically what it comes down to is trust. That as much as David likes being manhandled (and Michael likes manhandling him), Michael also respects his boundaries. He knows exactly when, where, and how to give David what he wants and needs. And David likes how Michael makes him feel safe, which is what makes him feel so comfortable with Michael in the first place.
I think David likes to be held down by Michael, and that there is an element of domination to it...but again, the nature of his and Michael’s relationship sets it apart from the others that have come before. In my opinion, Michael and David are most definitely switches, and their relationship is one of equals, to where it’s not so much about David calling Michael “Daddy” or any of what might be considered “traditional” terms in such a context. Instead, it’s about what Michael calls David--Cariad, for instance, or Dai-- and how that particular name they chose conveys the power that David is giving Michael over him in that specific context. Michael therefore only calls David that when he is being submissive, and similarly, David has a specific name that he calls Michael when he (David) is being dominant.
So yes, overall I feel like David has always enjoyed thiccer men, and the feeling of that weight against him, but it’s only with Michael that he seems to have found that perfect combination of soft and strong, of heart and libido all wrapped up in one feral, twinkly-eyed Welsh package. We should all be so lucky...
