saw someone's headcannon post and I started thinking
blame @x0stormie0x for getting me into this mess
anyway
I love the idea of Doc being so fatherly towards Lightning. Like not even just being a part of the pit crew, all of RS became for Lightning, but literally being a father.
Someone mentioned Doc having to pull Lightning out of bed every morning, and HE WOULD! you're telling me this man is a morning person? never. he gets up at 3 pm SHARP.
I can see Doc waking Lightning up like in those cliche movies. He opens the blinds and yanks the covers off him. "Rise and shine, Mcqueen! we got training today!" All cheery and Lightning just groans and rolls over, trying to go back to sleep.
I can see during the off season Lightning and Doc just having this father-son relationship like no one else, and Doc even adopts Mater into the family dynamic at one point bc that's Lightning's beat friend and they already act like brothers anyway.
During off-season, while there is training, Doc isn't as harsh. Instead, he's sweeter and a little more gentle. It's only when racing season picks back up that he gets a bit harsher on our boy, and Lightning hates it, but he knows Doc does it out of love.
When they're not training, they're hanging out at Doc's place or maybe Flo's. Doc has to rally Lightning like he's a 3 year old because he gets so caught up in everything and starts getting so excited he can't contain himself.
They get on one another's nerves all the time, but that's because they love each other like their blood, and everyone knows it. They wouldn't have it any other way, especially when they keep each other busy and in check.

He LOVED it when he was a rookie but once he settled in Radiator Springs, he treasured his privacy
Occasionally he’ll have to film commercials
He refuses unless he can do it with Cal, Bobby, or Brick
Boy gets so much anxiety before interviews
Accidentally called Doc “dad” during an interview
Twitter did not shut up for WEEKS
he refused to let Doc watch the interview
Thank god Doc doesn’t use social media
Doc agreed to not watch it and acted clueless because he totally did watch it after Sheriff showed him
Doc didn’t mind and enjoyed watching Lightning panic a little
Because that’s literally his son???

LIGHTNING & DOC FATHER/SON HEADCANONS(HUMANIZED)?!? REAL?!:
Im so sorry there aren’t too many 😭 for some reason I’ve been struggling with concepts so if I think of any good ones later, I’ll add them back here! I hope you like these my friend!
- In my AU at least, Lightning never had a stable home-life, constantly jumping from foster home to foster home and sometimes said foster homes wouldn’t be the best. I’d assume thanks to his unfortunate circumstances, he never really had anybody take care of him until Mack and Doc arrived- even then there was only so much Mack could do or say in fear of getting fired or something.
- Doc loves Lightning(this is obvious), but the kid cannot cook for the life of him so whenever Lightning does something nice for Doc and makes food for him, and it ends up genuinely being shit or inedible, Doc will still eat it anyways because of how happy Lightning looks when he does.
- Lightning’s love language is gifts and making things for other people(even if he thinks he’s good at it, but really isn’t). I’d imagine Doc has a lot of random nicknacks and bracelets from Lightning lmao.
- I think that the first time Lightning accidentally called Doc Dad he got so scared and embarrassed that he fucking bolted out the door, ran to his 95, and raced outta town like a bat out of hell. He’s like “fuck I can’t go back and show my face! Doc’s gonna think I’m weird or something!!!!” But then doc’s like,”You think of me as a dad?! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰” and immediately goes out after Lightning and brings him home- possibly having a heart to heart or something.
- Doc will do very small things that mean the world to Lightning, such as taking him to the store with him, going on small trips with him, just generally making Lightning feel wanted and just spending time with him.
- This one’s not necessarily Lightning and Doc only and is sorta canon, but Doc is everyone’s father 💀💀💀. Doesn’t matter who you are, as soon as you step foot in Radiator Springs once and you plan to stay for more than half an hour, then you are his kid. You have been adopted.
- Doc gave Lightning a bedtime. And Lightning was not happy abt it 😭. Lightning, despite being a mostly functioning adult, was still taking horrible care of himself(likely due to Harv’s harmful teaching and shitty “philosophies”. Fuck that guy) and would go to bed at seriously ungodly hours, even during race weekends which was a no no for obvious reasons. There was also the fact that Lightning got snippy and short whenever he didn’t sleep and everyone on the team was simply too nice to say anything until Doc did. I’d imagine it was because Lightning decided it would be a good idea to mouth off to the man after a race that went awry and he said stuff he didn’t mean. Doc would likely then realize the kid needed to have a nap before he collapsed or whatever then magically after said nap he was a bit better. Doc then decided that the kid’s bedtime would be 10:30 on the dot. Lightning, deciding he was an adult, complained to the man to which Doc replied with how shitty the kid had been acting which led to Lightning having a realization and leading to him apologizing his team who were more than forgiving and understood.
- Lightning’s a fuckingn iPad kid and Doc knows it and uses it to his advantage 💀💀. Whenever Doc just needs a second to himself or wants to disappear without worrying Lightning(a note or two would be written and left on the counter as well) he’ll leave a documentary- likely about prehistoric animals or modern animals- playing on the TV that will invest Lightning until Doc gets back.
- While having a stable father figure is new to Lightning, having a son-figure is for Doc as well. After Lightning called him dad, Doc has been reading every parenting guide book and news article and children’s mental health guide he could get his hands on. He didn’t want to mess up with the kid and he was still young(Doc knew Lightning didn’t have an all-too stable home-life, why else would he never talk to his parents or family members if he even had any?) and decently impressionable- plus there was all that deep-rooted shit Harv fucked Lightning up with. Doc did not want to hurt the kid and so he did his best with what he could, but it was hard since Lightning wasn’t exactly a child. Doc does his best anyways.
- Doc always gives 101% of his attention to Lightning, even when he’s physically doing something else such as making coffee. Doc loves listening to Lightning’s sometimes nonsensical rambles and rants about dinosaurs(Lightning is 100% a Dinosaur kid I know one when I see one for I am also one) and will listen when he starts nervously rambling about them during a race as well. He’ll always listen to his rants and stories, doing his best to keep up with the youngster. He’s glad Lightning loves sharing his interests with him and everyone in Radiator Springs. Lightning himself loves that he’s allowed to just keep talking all he wants and so he does, but he doesn’t have to “make sure” they’re still listening like he’d have to with Harv or shitty old friends of his because they’d all be paying attention anyways, even while busy. It made him feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
- Doc teaches Lightning how to do DIY shit or how to fix things(aside from cars. I’d imagine they bond on that. Maybe this one can be changed to Doc taught Lightning about the insides of a car? Like “if you wanna race, you can’t just know the pedals and wheel. You gotta know everything about your car” or something. Little lesson yk?) like doorframes or putting together IKEA furniture(screaming and crying). I’d imagine he loves teaching Lightning how to do woodshop and Lightning loves making little sculptures.
- For his first Father’s Day in Radiator Springs, Lightning decided to get the entire town involved since he wasn’t entirely sure what Doc liked and didn’t like that he could get the man. With his little dilemma, he went to everyone in the town getting input from everybody- some ranging from getting Doc an entire new tool kit or some sort of organizer thing to a nice set of overalls Doc could wear when fixing up the Hornet or working on projects. I like to think that maybe the entire town also get him things and nicknacks since everybody realized how much of a father Doc was. I think Lightning would be like,”fuck what do I get him 😰😰” Sally would be like,”BRO JUST GET HIM SOMETHING. HE’LL LOVE IT EITHER WAY ESPECIALLY IF IT COMES FROM YOU!” And then he decides to get Doc everything the others said anyways to which Doc is surprised and proves Sally right by saying something like,”Kid, you’re the only gift I need.” Or something corny. Maybe even like,”Kid, these are all wonderful, but you didn’t have to get all of these just for me.” Or sumn. Doc 101% uses all of the items everyday tho.

In the cars fandom, I heard the opinion that many people paint McQueen as young as Storm. I agree with this and I think the fact is that it really hurts us to see our idols grow old 😭
But over the weekend, I had fun painting and thinking about what lightning from Car 3 might look like in human Form. I am convinced that he would still be brutal And beautiful, but my skills do not give me the opportunity to draw it yet... So the chibi version!!!
AND I'm sorry but I have hadcanon that the rookie McQueen used lip gloss. DID YOU SEE HOW HIS LIPS SPARKLE IN THE FIRST MOVIE-

Forever hold your peace
Around ten years into their secret relationship with each other, Finn had come to the conclusion that Leland was his one and only. With this thought in his mind, he entered a prominent jewellers in London and purchased a ring he thought Leland would love, thinking that, if the day came when his love for another wasnt considered taboo, he would be able to marry him.
That day came too late.
After Lelands passing, Finn was contacted by the internal affairs department of CHROME. They had something for him, apparently. They told him Leland, about twenty eight years prior, had handed them a package with instructions that if he were to ever die before Finn, the IA department were to hand the package over to him.
Inside sat a stunning hammered silver wedding band, accompanied with a note that simply read:
"Evidently I didnt get the chance to ask this. But Finn - Will you marry me?"
Fin hasnt taken it off since and he wears the ring he bought Leland on a chain around his neck.

Piston Cup Racers Hcs (i lost track which part alr... Travel edition!)
Ill just do the cars 1 trio first because i am sleepy and this is too long but i havent done hcs in so long and id rather do this than any work so.
Strip Weathers
Honestly? Wants to take Lynda out to a fancy restaurant and just spend time with her, or even go admire the scenery together.
Very chill. Does not over or under pack at all, somehow.
Will, however, end up talking for a couple of hours to some random strangers about racing, somewhere.
This normally happens when Lynda is shopping- but only on occasion
Sticks to his wife like his life depends on it (because it does. he sucks at navigating)
Tries to experience as much of the culture as possible!
So. damn. polite. No one can get angry at him for trying wrong.
Can probably master an accent within a week with some unseen talent
Likes the freedom that comes with not being recognised a lot (im going off this that like outside of usa ppl don't know much about nascar and so this applies in carsverse to the piston cup like everyone knows its there but like. not intimately familiar)
Makes the most of it, but hates the plane rides
Chick Hicks
Shopping. Bro can never get enough of shopping and it is an issue (for his finances? yes. for his ego? nah.)
Will probably get drunk at least 3 times while sampling the local alcohol (not so much of 'sampling' more of taking shots :skull:)
Preens at every opportunity he gets recognised, probably- (yes.)
lowkey brings the 'other countries are cool but my own country is better' vibes. but only because he hates being left out of conversations and god damn it is annoying when he can't understand jack shit of what everyone else is saying
therefore he tries to go to english-speaking countries as much as possible
would taste-test the cuisine and make a rating for every. single. meal.
gets lost in the airport, nearly misses his return flight. barely makes it though
business-class traveller. will probably start talking to the person next to him VERY loudly and with no regard
Lightning
I mean come on we've all watched cars 2
As polite as can be (i have to be a good representative of USA racers-)
Still manages to get at least 2 speeding tickets every time he travels
Packs too much, paranoid something will happen he's not prepared for like you never know
souvenirs!! and definitely buys doc a fridge magnet from every trip. doc keeps them all on the fridge, but never talks about it unless forced to

if he buys anything, it'll probably be some nice clothes for himself - man's got a decent fashion sense
makes a joke and realises everyone else probably don't understand. whoops.

Hello besties I’m back with more cars headcanons
I’ve been gone for a few days bc I was drafted for war (called into work) but i love yapping about cars so I will be speeding running this before my shift starts
Doc has to drag Lightning out of bed every morning
He isn’t a morning person whatsoever
He’ll end up falling asleep at the table
Doc scolds him for his breakfast choices
Usually it’s an energy drink and maybe an apple
So doc started cooking again
He is actually a really good cook but never had the chance to make actual meals bc it used to be only him eating for years
So Doc learned what Lightning’s favorite foods were and would cook them almost every morning for him
Once they get to the butte, Lightning has so much energy
Doc will talk to him through the headset but Lightning usually ends up doing most of the talking
Usually it’s stupid questions
“Doc, what’s for lunch?”
“Doc what do you think is at the bottom of the ocean?”
“Doc, can we go to Flo’s after?”
“Doc, do you think Sarge would let me borrow some fire crackers?”
Doc gets more and more gray hairs with every practice
But deep down he loves the kid

Cars Music Headcanons Because why the Fuck not
Lightning
Got a red electric guitar because he thought it was cool
Tried to learn to play but stopped after a week because he wasn't immediately good at it [adhd curse...]
After he crashed into Radiator Springs and finished his big race he got lessons
Average singer, passable enough to sing while he plays
His favorite band is System of a Down
Mater
Doesn't own a banjo but knows how to play
*Does* own a fiddle but rarely takes it out because it's actually one of the more expensive things he owns, the only object he took with him when he left home actually, and he keeps it in the case most of the time
REALLY good at playing it, he could play just about anything and can improv at any moment
Yes he actually knows how to do proper scream vocals
His normal singing voice is very deep and rich
Great whistler
Sally
Good singer, she's shy about singing in front of people but when she's by herself she has a really pretty voice
Knows enough about piano to claim that she can play it
Not shy about dancing, if a song comes up she likes she will get up and dance without getting embarrassed
Favorite song is I Wanna Dance with Somebody, close second is Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
She said she wished she could get better at piano, which she can't do because she doesn't have one, so Lightning got her one for the lobby of the Cozy Cone as a gift
After a few months of practice she invited everyone to come down one evening for a little concert, and she played a few really beautiful songs for them, everyone thought it was lovely
Doc
Likes to have the radio on while he works in his garage
Sometimes he has it on when he sits outside with a cigar by the little firepit, but just as often he'll just listen to the fire cracking and enjoy the quiet
One time Lightning asked him why he doesn't like to have it on all the time when he sits out there and he said "the best music is the sounds of mother nature" which Lightning thought was the cheesiest thing he'd ever heard
He likes the sounds of the crickets and the coyotes at night
He secretly used to be in a band when he was young, Lightning found photos of him playing drums one time [he never told anyone about it though]
Generally likes dad rock with no specific bands or musicians
Flo and Ramone
Flo picks the music at her cafe and Ramone picks the music at his tattoo shop
Flo's favorite is Dolly Parton, she got into her music through her more pop focused songs, but she learned to branch out to her country also
Ramone's taste overlap with Lightning, and when he knows Lightning will visit his shop he'll put on some metal for the background
Sarge and Fillmore
Obviously they have very different opinions on basically everything, but surprisingly there are a few songs out there they both like
Sarge isn't big on music in general, he would listen to tornado sirens if he had the choice
Fillmore can play basically any stringed or woodwind instrument
Over time Sarge learns to live with Fillmore's Beatles vinyls he's always playing
Luigi and Guido
They both listen to music basically exclusively in Italian
They love singing the songs they play in the shop while they clean as loudly as possible
Sometimes they get weird looks from the customers when they do that but they ignore them
One time Luigi tried to take Guido to the opera but Guido kept falling asleep so they just left early and Luigi took him to get something to eat
