How did the Academic handle the whole Transport affair?

Fun fact! This is also the story of my worst misclick in Fallen London!

See, they try to encourage you to get rid of Transport by making it a massive negative to all of your stats. But the trick is that I do not care about optimization. A stat decrease of over 8% across the board was not nearly enough to make me even consider getting rid of Transport. You mean my character gets to have both a baby Curator AND an action-free pass to go chat with Pages at any time??

This was it, this was how I was going to play the game from now on. I kept it up for months. It was fun. My stuck up Academic was slowly warming to the utter chaos of child-rearing, like a father in a 90’s Christmas film. Every action in game had a second layer of interpretation, because everything my poor Academic did, they did with a chaotically happy baby bat latched to their face, sitting in their pockets, screaming merry choo-choo sounds.

Alas, no reckoning can be postponed indefinitely, and all good things in Fallen London end the same way: with NORTH suddenly accessible on your zailing map. I was up too late in the early morning, using up my last few actions, and my bleary brain did not issue me a vital and timely warning. Instead, it chose to erroneously report me the good news that this was obvious evidence of an unannounced game event, something best begun without consulting the discord, Reddit, or tumblr tag. I hastily clicked to navigate in a northerly manner, and it wasn’t until I had arrived and The Academic disembarked that the chilly consequences of my actions became clear.

I could not re-enter my boat. No game progression was possible until my fluffy, chipper baby was handed over to curator clutches.

I just kind of stared at my phone, realizing that I could either give up Transport, or allow the horizon to win in the end, with a new way to brick my account even though I’d told Seeking, with gusto, and great emotional import, that I was not interested.

I’m not bitter about it, and I didn’t run whining to FBG, misclicks happen and things you love can be lost forever.

But man. I miss that kid.

In other news, someone dropped a note on my desk in my ecology class earlier today saying they loved my hair/outfit and also my bird, and while I imagine they were scurrying out the door either out of shyness or needing to get to another class, which I can respect, I didn't get a very good look at them as they went, so now I'm like no! Come back! I am lonely and want to meet people!

I can’t wait for only good things to happen to Feyre and her husband and for all of their antis to never have a positive reading experience reading acotar.

I love reading their silly little posts with their silly little delusions of how they think the books should be, and knowing in my heart of hearts that it will simply… never happen ❤️ Every theory, every opinion, *almost* every criticism these people have are bullshit.

I’m just so excited for these future books, I’m sure there will be things I don’t like and things I’ll want to criticize, but guess what? Even if SJM does Feysand dirty to me… they’ll always be the center of that whole universe and nothing bad that happens to them will ever have any permanence.

Feysand antis are the dreamers of the acotar fandom, because all they can do is dream about the books going their way.

im a ye oldie shipper at heart, i expect nothing and hope only for the occasional small interaction. so if there can be a running gag of frankie an cleo standing next to each other in the background of random scenes, i'll be in heaven

legit just AH THE CURSE IS OUT OF CONTROL- oh hey there's clankie walking down the hall together- DRAMATIC MOMENT OF REVELATION- clankie stopping dead in the doorway, sharing a Look, and sloowly backing out of the scene again- TENSE MOMENT IN THE MIDDLE OF AN EPIC SHOWDOWN- but don't worry cleo is off in a corner checking frankie for a concussion and frankie instinctively electro blasts away a piece of falling rubble that would've hit her, they're both fine, and together, and that's all i need to see

The Master was leaned up against the console of his own TARDIS as Dark walked in, a cheeky little smile on his face. What else was he supposed to do when he saw the other walk in with a knife in his hand? Not acknowledge it? Not try to get that attention on him?

“Oh, you know me. I’m always up for a challenge.” He said, eyes flicking up and down his form. “And I would like to see you live up to your namesake. Get a personal view of your embodiment…” And the Master took a breath he didn’t realize he’d been holding. “— And I had no doubts about that… So.” He gestures to the knife in his hand, and oh, he practically preened in front of it, “who’s that for?”

yall lemme ramble bout lucifers back/wings real quick...

he takes extremely good care of his wings, theyre lowkey like a security blanket for him so ofc he takes good care of them. his upkeep is extensive, always has been. but to him, have it be in heaven or in hell, its a private matter so he rarely does his care routine in front of others. old habits die hard ig 🤷‍♀️. that process continued even after the fall tho, but its even MORE of a lengthy process because there was hella damage after falling from grace. even to this day he's missing feathers here and there and they just wont grow back, you cant really tell unless you're specifically looking for said M.I.A. feathers. he also has a LOT of scarring on his back, shoulders and wings so bc of that he's prone to losing feathers a lot more often than he probs should be. and don't even get me started on the back pain this dude experiences bc of the fall, this mans back STAYS crackling rip

and before i forget i should also mention his wing span is about 6.7 meters (22 feet)....

that little wiggle Ed does as he says “The Gentleman Pirate, I presume?” is the only thing in the world that matters to me
