not to be pjo-posting in the calendar year 2023 but GOD. every time i remember that leah jeffries is out there, playing annabeth, destroying everyone's preconceptions of what she's allowed to look like or who she can be—God, it makes me so!!! i was so worried that the fandom would never adjust. that i would struggle to reconcile this actress who—though fantastic!—looks so different from what i imagined with the fierce girl i loved so much as a child. but it hasn't happened! it hasn't happened. despite the shitty remarks a lot of people did make, the majority of the response has been so good—that fanartists, especially. what a bunch of literal chads. they took leah on first, with more grace and kindness and love than anyone, and now when i see a Black girl in braids pulled into a ponytail, wearing a camp half blood shirt, brandishing a dagger—it's instantaneous. i just think it now. that's annabeth chase! that's my annabeth chase, the first character i ever identified with and loved, and she is leah is the book version is whoever any of us need her to be, and i am so, so happy about that.

Happy mother's day to Gertrude Kappelput, Gotham's best mother, and Oswald Cobblepot, who taught several people that if you kill someone's mother you will end up blown up, shot to the head and betrayed or with a knife in your heart. Oswald was still the only character in that show who could break through the plot armor of the main secondary characters entirely out of spite, and that is part of the reason why he will always be my favorite of all time

INVINCIBLE COMIC SPOILERS
LIKE MASSIVE SPOILERS
The weirdest thing about watching Invincible is seeing Ollie still be a cute lil baby while knowing exactly what's gonna happen.
Like of course it's like that for everyone. Rex, Rudy (aka Rex as well itc). It's especially painful watching them drag out Amber and Mark's breakup and sitting there like that one Frank Castle meme.
But it's different for Ollie. Watching this cute baby coo while they try to think of a name for him just, idk it hits differently. It's like I receive flashes in my mind.
"Awww what a cute baby. Isn't he just adora-"
"Oh. Oh yeah. Oh jeez."

Being a woc fan of Bridgerton can be a struggle, especially when it comes to liking the poc characters on the show, especially the woc. Like I remember when s1 came out and the blatant microaggressions and just plain racism coming from this fandom was atrocious. You had people spewing very hateful things about Charlotte, Marina, and Simon and undermining the latter two's pain and trauma at the hands of the white characters---Marina was treated terribly by the Featheringtons and, whether you like Penelope or not, you cannot deny that she also played a part by releasing that letter to the Ton and Simon was violated Daphne no matter how people try to spin the story to offer her some form of sympathy (it still blows my mind that people would want to though).
S2 is just as bad (not even including how they changed the Sharma family's storyline than how it was in the books when that wasn't necessary) and the racist undertones many of the fans have towards Mary and Edwina (as well as Kate but for her it's carries more brown woman needing to be saved by a white man when Anthony is involved because a lot of you all in the fandom are quick to use this trope such as "oh, he's the only one who truly knows her"). The lack of screen time for this family really ends up hurting them to but even with that, whether you like Mary and Edwina or not, it would be a lie to deny the racism a lot in the fandom hold towards them (and how that falls onto the actresses because it was very apparent how many in the fandom couldn't let two Desi women shine without having to bring down the other and Netflix played into that too for drama) and paints every small thing they do as being terrible crimes but in the same breath will not have the same smoke for the Bridgertons, who have their own set of problems (but because they are also the main family, among other things, they are provided more grace without consequences).

*sits up in the middle of the night* in this next universe where vampires seem to have taken over the world, marceline probably either never met simon or he died soon after they met, which means that since her mom also died when she was really young (too young to remember a lot about her i bet), she most likely raised herself completely alone through the apocalypse and never really learned about Morals which is how after getting bitten she joined the vampires and, became evil i guess. we see that even with simons good influence in her formative years she went through a rough path after getting bitten so it would make sense that shed turn out nasty if it wasnt for him. she is part demon. we just saw an universe where simon lost marcy and was fucked up and now we're gonna see one where marcy lost simon and became fucked up
