actually not done talking about reva. she’s a badass. she’s pathetic. she looks like she hasn’t slept in a week. she kidnapped a child to get to an old man to get to her boss to murder her boss who she was within stabbing range of multiple times. got stabbed by her boss instead. cut off a woman’s hand for dramatic effect but couldn’t successfully intimidate a ten year old. successively got the shit beaten out of her by two farmers then had a mental breakdown and realized maybe her revenge plot to murder a child was bad, actually. i am in love with her.

okay also i think matt deserves to be a cowboy actually. for all his close brushes and dances around the time travel fights, he's never really been involved in the way he seems to want to be. of course he's always done his best in canada spying and whatnot, but there's still a level of separation that he clearly hates. thus: send him to texas!! there's nothing keeping him in vancouver, really, and he could be of so much help at texas base. he hasn't been iterated before, but he's inarguably been fundamentally changed by the tech before, á la not dying like he was supposed to, and his dealings with time travel offer a much different personality than what's colloquial with base.

texas is a new start, a chance for matt to do something that matters and learn to forgive himself for his mistakes. he was a coward, but in texas he's important, an integral piece of countless missions because they don't know him. the other organizations are all too familiar with mike and his countless iterations, and with the rest of the troublemakers at base, but matt is a secret, a cowboy because he needs to start over and rebuild from the ground up. and he's a natural with bluster and the horses and gives michael a run for his money with how much sweet tea they drink and maybe he isn't really a cowboy yet but hes trying and that has to count for something.
