i like to think that in a modern eridia some fantasy aspects are still kept so this is more of a regular ass world hc BUT i think Ais would adopt the shelter dogs nobody wants. The old ones, the scarred ones, the sick ones... He definitely doesn't have the resources to tend to all of them, but it's obvious they're miserable at the shelter, and nobody else is picking them up—they need a home.

They aren't really scary like the Soulless, but they are unwanted, and I think that's the main reason why Ais loves his pets so much.
