i just want to know which ship is more popular in the cm fandom here. and personally I LOVE THEM BOTH and having to choose kind of kills me.

moreid definitely has more background and depth in it. they both have parent issues, both have been through so much on the team together, they confide in each other which is straight up adorable. yet they are SO DIFFERENT but fit so perfectly. morgan, the muscles that ‘all’ the girls want, and reid, the brains that supposedly no one would want. morgan with his teasing that flusters reid like it’s no one’s business and then reid info dumping and morgan aCTUALLY LISTENS and is interested (usually). they both admire each other for their differences and can support each other where one of them may fall. idk it’s just really cute. also “pretty boy” ?? we know that wasn’t platonic.

then ralvez, a bit like moreid BUT NOT. at first i feel like reid would totally feel guilty about liking some other guy right after morgan leaves but as time goes on HE JUST FALLS FOR HIM HARDER but anyways— alvez always seems so interested in what reid has to say it’s so cutesdhfn i remember when the others would get so annoyed with reid’s info dumping but as far as i remember LUKE NEVER WAS HE ALWAYS LISTENS also how come i feel like they were always put together when alvez first joined?? aLSO can we not forget how hard alvez worked to get reid out of prison with the rest of the team even when he didn’t know him that well?!? he got so protective over reid. and overall the ship is just cute. they are both babygirl but strong men at the same time. they obviously belong together.

Thank you for the ask! I've just actually finished writing it so here go!

Maths

Your sat on the sofa fiddling with your pen picking at your skin as your looking at the same math question that you've been stuck on for 30 minutes your so focused -more zoned out- you don't hear the opening and closing of the front door indicating that Spencer is home.

"Y/n I'm home" hearing no response Spencer walks around first to the kitchen then to the bedroom before looping back to the living room and seeing you staring at your text book neck craned to look at it tears welling up in your eyes as you pick at your skin '"y/n?" Seeing your zoned he sits next to you and puts a hand over your thigh causing you to jump a little "oh...hey babe." You mutter out before continuing to just stare at your work.

Spencer rubs your back "Maths problem? Do you want some help." he spoke softly but you push him away a little "I don't need help it's supposed to be easy Spencer." and that's it the floodgates opened as tears trickle down your face "it's supposed to be easy why isn't it easy."

Spencer goes silent for a minute taking a breath adjusting to your suddenly outburst

"Hey...it's not going to be easy for everyone y/n don't beat yourself up about it...can I hug you?"

You shake your head 'no.' as you pull your legs up still picking at your hands as Spencer notices and look's in the small basket on the table before handing you a dark pink fidget cube and you just hold it as you sniffle and after about five minutes Spencer asks again a little softer

"Can I hug you y/n I just want to make you feel better" this time you nod quietly and Spencer pulls you in for a soft hug running his fingers through your freshly cut hair as he notices it's not the same fade you normally get "different style?" You shake your head "my guy was sick but it really needed done so I went with a different guy and he gave me a low fade...I don't like it but I didn't want to say anything either..." You mumble your explanation

"Well it looks cute babe" he smiles as you laugh a little bit before he sits up and gets the book "right so if 42x is Equal 260 what does x stand for" he looks at you before you burry your head into his side annoyed you don't understand the wording and Spencer kisses your head "lets word it differently if 42x is 260 what does 'x' equal?" He smiles as it clicks for you and you mumbles "6.1 but if they want a whole number just 6 am I right??"

Spencer smiles "yes you are babe well done.. I'm proud of you"

So I started watching Criminal Minds again (the last thing I had seen was just after Alex had joined de BAU) and wow, the rollercoaster it has been. Not because of the overall plots but because there's a lot of potential and details fueling my mind. All of this to say I've been having 'thougths' and we all know what that means 👀

moreid fic set during 5x10. the characterization of both reid and morgan is spot on, and this is so soft. i also so so appreciate how this includes reid’s knee injury! so many fics set in season 5 forgo mentioning it altogether and have reid doing things that he would not be able to. cw: references to the events of 5x09

as he loves you (author unknown)

moreid fic again, basically an in depth character study of both from the others perspective. there is not enough good and accurate characterization of morgan and this does it so so well. even if you don’t ship moreid at all, worth the read for that alone. cw: racism, homophobia, referenced csa/molestation, referenced bullying

relief in regrets by @imagining-in-the-margins

reader insert angsty smut set during early season 12. i truly do not see people write about pre prison season 12 reid enough, and this is so so good. cw: sex

the mirror man by blythechild

another fic about angsty early season 12 reid, but this time it’s from emily’s perspective as she tries to navigate her romantic feelings towards him while he falls apart. this diverges from canon and he doesn’t go to prison. honestly, as someone who thinks emily and reid are both gay, this spemily fic is one of the best cm fics i’ve ever read. once again everything by this author is incredible, but this fic in particular is dark and emotional and great. cw: minor character death, grief, depression, drug use, alcoholism, sex, suicidal ideation

angels by dilaudiddreams

the most poetic, beautifully written reid whump i’ve read thus far. reid struggles with his addiction but it gets much, much darker. the characterization of reid is heartbreaking and compelling, and morgan is spot on as well. ***unfinished*** major cw for drug use and addiction, torture, and violence. additional cw for referenced incest, csa, and child abuse.

casimir pulaski day by highway58

this fic diverges from canon and follows reid as he struggles with cancer. this is so detailed and the writing is so heartbreaking and powerful, this fic has made me emotional multiple times. it is a very heavy read, but i cannot recommend it enough. ***ongoing*** cw: cancer, hospitals, graphic medical stuff, depression, drug addiction

missing pieces of sleep by highway58, masterworlds

obviously i don’t read much hotchreid, but this fic is too good not to include. follows reid after he gets out of prison and hotch as get gets out of witness protection, as they come together again. ***ongoing*** cw: ptsd, illness, vomiting, panic attacks, brief referenced suicide
