I think the reason why Naruto fans get so passionate and upset about the series is because of how real it can be. Naruto isn’t about paragon heroes outdoing dastardly villains. It’s about human beings fighting tooth and nail to survive in a world surrounded by death. It’s about broken systems made and perpetuated by broken people.
The Hyuga clan isn’t just antagonistic or pretentious, they practice slavery.
The Uchiha clan weren’t just killed by some raging psychopath, they were systematically massacred.
Itachi isn’t just cruel to Sasuke because he’s a bad brother, he’s cruel because he’d been told time and time again that you can only survive by being cruel and he wants nothing more than for Sasuke to survive.
Nagato isn’t trying to take over the world just for the sake of power, he’s trying to take over the world because it beat him down to the point of believing that the only chance at peace there is is the world being forced into compliance through fear.
Iruka isn’t hard on Naruto just because he’s a strict teacher, he’s hard on Naruto because he knows from experience how unforgiving the world is towards orphans.
Kakashi isn’t just some silly and slightly lazy teacher, he’s a contract killer still grieving his loved ones and struggling to do better without knowing how he’s supposed to.
Sakura isn’t just a fangirl, she’s a normal girl in a very dangerous and abnormal world constantly being made to choose between what she’s supposed to do and what she feels.
Sasuke isn’t just some edgelord, he’s a survivor who lost everything then gets repeatedly told that he has to choose between keeping what he’s gained and doing better than his brother.
Naruto isn’t just trying to be the best Hokage there ever was, he’s trying to prove his worth to a society that abandoned him just for existing and, in a way, confirm his worth to himself.
The Naruto story is about humans trying to force themselves into the role of weapons because that’s what they were told they had to be. It’s a story where everyone is a perpetrator but no one is trying to do wrong. It’s a story where everyone is a victim but no one is a perfect victim.
The world and the characters aren’t simple and trying to simplify them only takes away from them. So of course we get passionate about showing off all the reasons why they shouldn’t be simplified and all of the ways they’re complicated. Of course we get upset when we see others simplifying them or selling certain aspects of their characters short. Of course we get upset when the series itself simplifies them. Of course we get upset when the series chooses to abandon them. Because it not only feels like the characters are giving up, it feels like the series is betraying anyone who chose to get invested in its complexities.

i’m going to play coc2 as tobirama
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
that’s a good start so far, but everything seems too easy
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
this is more backstory than kishimoto gave him which i have to say. big L on his part. at least the virginity is accurate.
tbrm starts his adventure in a tavern amidst a winter chill. a catgirl damsel in distress tumbles into the tavern, screaming, sick from the cold. tbrm chooses to investigate the matter and she collapses in his arms. the gruff bartender and tbrm take her somewhere safer and tbrm mends her injuries with healing magic. she relays the sordid tale of waking up to find her younger sister missing. tbrm agrees to lend his help and they head eastward.
Tumblr media
now is not the FUCKING TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh apparently coc2 has actual like turn based combat now and isn’t about orc pussy. that’s awesome
Tumblr media
this ISN’T WHAT I CAME HERE FOR!!!!! RIP ADOBE FLASH PLAYER...... DIED GIVING BIRTH TO THIS
anyway tobirama is exsanguinating. cait the catgirl and tbrm won the duel with only flesh wounds. so far
Tumblr media
you furries are soooo annoying all you do is talk about cock and cum. throw some spears if you’re serious about your fuck cult
Tumblr media
now tbrm and his pink haired nekomimi companion are not only being killed by a slutty furry mage but tbrm’s sensory capabilities are so powerful he can sense horny levels like video game stats. this really paints ‘most powerful sensor’ into a new light. why haven’t fic writers gotten on this train? i think that would be funny.
Tumblr media
heterosexuality beam launched at tbrm!
Tumblr media
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!UCHIHA ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
alright, somehow tbrm and cait won that disaster of a fight. cats always land on their feet i suppose. the fleeing cultists left behind several vials of blue and pink potions. tbrm has the option to take one. i think i will have him take the pink potion in case it makes his nipples explode.
Tumblr media
actually cait i have no idea what the fuck you’re supposed to do with those. so tbrm took a blue potion as well. as you can imagine, someone drew a cock on it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
to my absolute lack of shock and surprise there is a fight scene with some bald dude who looks like lucien lachance and ren from ren and stimpy spawned something. this fight is going to be so annoying i can tell. i’ve played skyrim.
Tumblr media
okay now this is epic
so i think i defeated ren lachance at like, the very last minute, and now tbrm is awake after basically passing out from blood loss. he’s still in the ruined temple, but he’s not alone...
Tumblr media
thanks for specifying the cat dick but not immediately mentioning the fact that a four winged fat cocked demon leaking titty milk is standing over him. don’t worry, that description takes up a whole page after this.
Tumblr media
sighs very fucking deeply
Tumblr media
VERY..... fucking deeply....
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
great fucking question tobirama. what now? well as much as i would love to find out i don’t think i want to risk anymore possible encounters of getting tbrm’s soul yanked out through his cock. maybe next time when i remember this game exists.

Hi! I was wondering
How do you think Hashirama and Madara would be in a Road to Ninja version?
I remember once reading a Hashimada fic (which I never finished RIP) that was about Madara appearing in the RTN universe and the 3 things that stucked with me were:
1.- Madara was the first Hokage (something that Madara thought was horrible when he saw his sculpted face on the Hokage mountain 🤣)
And personally I think that it would not have been like that even in the RTN universe because we didn't see his face along with the other faces of Hokages in the movie (Yeah, apparently I'm basing myself on a movie which I'm not even sure if it's canon or not, even though Kishimoto wrote it) and the RTN characters didn't seem to even know who Madara is.
2.- Hashirama having his bowlcut as an adult
And I agree with the Madara from that fanfic, it looks awful on him. Hashirama, babe, I'm sorry but the only ones who can rock that style are Guy Sensei and Rock Lee, I know you just were trying to be cool but it doesn't suite you.
3.- Tobirama was a porn writer
Instead of being a fan of forbidden jutsu and creating justus, he wrote porn novels a la Jiraiya. And I'll hold that headcanon with my dead hands.
The only other fanfic that places the founders in the RTN universe is one where the protagonist is Mito (it's an interesting one-shot that pairs her with Itama 🤔)
She was kind of a shy person 🤔? And so it was Tobirama 🤣 which I found fun.
Hashirama, as the first fanfic I mentioned, was the Tobirama of the place (saddenly Madara wasn't in this fic).
So I would like to know what are your versions of the founders (or only Hashirama and Madara if it is too much) in the RTN universe! And how do you think things would be
Hmm, RTN is an interesting concept to me but, to be honest, I don't think Konoha would exist if a lot of personalities got flipped 😂 I haven't read any RTN fics with the founders, but if you, or anyone else, have links at hand I'd love to check them out 👀
1. Madara
Here's the big one and the crux of why I don't think the village would exist. Typically I characterize Madara as an extremely responsible man who internalizes things when he shouldn't, takes himself way too seriously, is aggressive and abrasive even to people he loves sometimes, but genuinely loves the people closest too him. Reversing this would make a character that slacks off, takes no responsibility, and is completely passive in life and has fleeting attachments to others around him. Assuming he wouldn't die on the battlefield, I could see the RTN "alternate" personality coming about of Madara's being so overpowered and competent that he loses interest and distances himself from things before he can get attached and lose them.
It makes building a village very hard though. (At first I was tempted to go RTN Sasuke route and maybe RTN!Madara is a little more openly flirty than canon!Madara, but the passivity and refusal to take responsibility would be the "core" qualities for me.)
2. Hashirama
Hashirama is a bit weird because he has a lot of surface-level "conflicting" traits in canon. He is optimistic but he pushes beyond his natural attitude and uses it as a mask to hide instead of addressing his feelings. He's mischievous, likes jokes and games, and can be a bit hedonistic with his pleasure but can equally be serious when necessary and will willingly sacrifice for others around him. And simultaneously, Hashirama and Madara are connected by a shared sense of idealism but also anger. Hashirama is a very kind, but extremely angry, man. I think a RTN!Hashirama would share a kind of apathy of RTN!Madara but instead of passivity his lack of anger would manifest as cruelty. Because canon!Hashirama is angry but his anger is usually a righteous kind. I don't think RTN!Hashirama would go out of his way to be cruel, but he doesn't have the empathy of canon!Hashirama, especially to others' suffering. He enjoys fighting just a bit too much and has no qualms about killing. In his mind, he should always come first in any situation and prioritizing (or even considering) others' is effort and him going out of his way to be "nice" and the other should be thankful. Similarly if he feels any negative emotion, he won't bottle it up and swallow it down, he'll immediately address it, usually confrontationally. RTN!Hashirama is as intelligent as his canon counterpart but he doesn't suffer fools and he hates it when people underestimate him. He's pretty proud and vain, tbh.
I really don't think the above would make him the "Tobirama" of RTN verse. To me Hashirama and Tobirama have different core values and perspectives and inverting Hashirama's doesn't make it become Tobirama's, if that makes sense. This one is also wordy bc I immediately knew how RTN!Madara would be RTN!Hashirama is a bit harder to pin down. But I hope it's clear why I have doubts about the village existing...maybe if RTN!Hashirama got it in his mind as a pet project for the hell of it, that he'd be a better leader for the country and not just the Senju alone, and RTN!Madara liked the idea of no responsibility and being able to detach even further than he already was? But that's still kind of grasping for a reason.
3. Hashimada
Equally I think any Hashirama/Madara relationship would be ehhh. They definitely wouldn't have the overwhelming bond of their canon counterparts, and it could be a relationship ripe for unhappiness. The closest I can think of to making the ship work is RTN!Madara would be drawn to Hashirama's absurd level of self-confidence and able to let the casual cruelty slide off instead of getting worked up about it. In a way RTN!Hashirama is stable and predictable. If he's pretty overpowered, there's less of a chance RTN!Madara would lose him, so their relationship isn't deep but it's more or less dependable and Madara knows exactly what he's going to get. In contrast RTN!Hashirama has an audience in the form of RTN!Madara and a partner that's not going to push back against his ideas. RTN!Madara doesn't ask for much and he doesn't complain when RTN!Hashirama puts himself first. He doesn't want, or might not be capable of, the deep emotional bond their canon counterparts have. RTN!Madara wouldn't leave Konoha (if it existed) in the AU, because he doesn't really care. If someone upset RTN!Hashirama and he decided to leave to 'do it right' RTN!Madara would probably follow, maybe out of some loyalty for RTN!Hashirama but mostly because it's what's easiest.
4. Tobirama
The core of Tobirama's character to me is prioritizing logic over emotion and both a conscious and unconscious failure to realize he can't completely eliminate emotion. Tobirama loves his brother, he's curious and has a desire to find out what makes things work and is willing to bend morality to get results if it'll serve a greater good. He's very aware of the unfairness of the world but believes it's an unspoken truth of humanity and can only be mitigated through logical means, but never completely erased. He'll be the sacrificial lamb, the one that works in shadows so his brother can have his utopian dream. Despite everything, he loves his genin, the strongest bonds he has aside from Hashirama, and does try to instill in them lessons he think will help them and lead to peace and stability in the village. He's still influenced by the prejudices of his time and can never find it in him to truly forgive the Uchiha.
A RTN!Tobirama would be a man ruled by emotion. Him writing erotica all day definitely could be one way this manifests lol. But overall he's sensitive and spiritual and can't stand the idea of killing. He and RTN!Hashirama don't get along and he actively tries to avoid his brother. RTN!Tobirama has equally strong principles as canon!Tobirama, but they're pacifist in nature and while he likes his studies, he prefers to be out talking to people and learning from them first hand. He's very naive and can be easily taken advantage of and he has trouble focusing on any one thing for too long. No matter how many times this happens, he never can harden his heart or be overly suspicious of others. RTN!Tobirama would most likely be the one support peace in this AU. He embraces the Uchiha and all the Senjus past enemies with open arms, almost to a foolish degree. It'd be a bad idea if he became hokage in this AU because he's a terrible negotiator and has a bad people-pleasing streak and struggles with long-term tactics. With the exception of RTN!Hashirama, who he considers an aberration who doesn't have a soul, humans at their core all have good intentions at heart.
5. Mito
I characterize Mito as a very level-headed woman. Her marriage to Hashirama is political in nature but they grow to be good friends and she never expected to fall in love and she's glad Hashirama didn't want a traditional wife. Mito is devoted to her community work (she works hands-on with people in the village), she seeks out connections with others and, despite the distance, remains close with her family in Uzushio, constantly writing them letters. She's spiritual and follows the Uzumakis' beliefs (not gonna list this OoT spoiler lol) and studies fuinjutsu in her spare time, something she's done since she was a child. She is willing to sacrifice if it meant protecting something she considered greater than herself, much to her own personal detriment. She loves and is proud of her children and grandchildren, but if she had a choice, she would have chosen to remain childless, she finds her true calling elsewhere.
RTN!Mito, similarly to RTN!Tobirama, is ruled by emotions. She dreams of one day making a good marriage for herself and centers romance and being a mother as her ideal life, but she's extremely picky when it comes picking the perfect husband. RTN!Mito knows how much she's worth and she refuses to settle and will not even entertain the idea of an arranged marriage. She has a hard time forming long-lasting, deep bonds with other people and views starting her own family as the solution to this problem. At times she can be a bit absent-minded and unintentionally selfish, but she's not actively malicious. She blusters a lot and depending on the situation can come off as cold and uncaring, but it's only to hide the depth of her true feelings and loneliness. In this AU she would absolutely refuse to marriage RTN!Hashirama. Nothing on hell or earth, could make her change her mind.
Mito is such a blank-slate character it feels like writing an oc more than a canon character, tbh. And this is something I don't see brought up a lot but a "heart full of love" to combat the kyuubi's hatred to me has never been exclusive to romantic or familial (to children) love. *cough* I want a complex female character who's not vilified for not wanting to have children and/or regretting having them *cough* Mito's "love" was for the people of Konoha and Uzushio. My personal headcanon regarding her and Hashirama's child (I don't think she had more than one) was that she was dedicated to her son, but quickly realized being a mother wasn't her dream or something she even actively liked. The kid was well-cared for and she was dutiful towards him, but Hashirama was the parent that loved and embraced him with his whole heart and it led to some tension between Mito and her son as the kid could tell the difference and neither of them were "wrong" to feel the way they did. This is why Tsunade was shown with Hashirama instead of Mito, he was a lot more present in her life when she was young (instead of Kishi just not having made Mito as a character yet). But after Hashirama and Tsunade's dad died (and then Nawaki), she and Mito grew close but it was definitely more of a friendship or student/mentor relationship rather than a traditional grandmother/granddaughter relationship but both were satisfied with it and loved eachother. Likewise I didn't want RTN!Mito's characterization to be shallow and hit misogynistic undertones with her being an "opposite" to Mito's calm, level-headed, focused on her work/passions characterization.
6. Closing thoughts
#1: Wow this got long #2: I feel conflicted about RTN because it seemed to flip surface-level characteristics instead of deep characterizations, and ignored flaws altogether. The ones above, esp. Hashirama and Madara's, are kind of dark in a way? But that's the only way it makes sense to me...Gai and Lee caring about style and being stylish is a funny joke but if you were to actually poke and prod and say their personalities were inverted, neither of them would be top-notch ninja as we know...unless I'm just completely misremembering RTN because I realize it's been years since I saw it lol. Anyway, hope this was entertaining!

You said that Inkarmat is one of the most hated characters and sadly it is true... what do you think about her? Why ppl hate her so much?
combination of good old misogyny and her being quite inconsistent as a character, i think. i'm personally not particularly fond of her, not that i dislike her either but am mostly indifferent, and i think that writing-wise she is quite messy and has little substance. it's the female character in manga syndrome. noda is a good writer, a statement i've made countless times, but he's quite weird about women. i don't think he's misogynistic in the way, say, miura was, or the likes of kishimoto and oda are, gk certainly lacks the kind of in your face misogyny found in other seinen - berserk, blade of the immortal, shigurui, gantz etc. instead of sexualized violence against women noda prefers to not write women at all, which i do consider one of his bigger faults as a writer. it's insulting and lazy, but because misogyny is so prevalent everywhere you turn people a) don't take it seriously and b) genuinely don't consider it a big deal. i've seen the argument of "well of course there aren't any women, most of the cast is war veterans" thrown around as though that choice wasn't a conscious decision.
i've made this exact comment before, but i find it curious that noda finds it easier to empathize with murderers, maniacs, sociopaths, zoophiles, perverts, nationalists and other freaks much easier than a woman. regular cast is 23 men and 3 women. there's over 100 named male characters, and about 10 women in total, not to mention the way some of them aren't even given faces, and most of them end up dead. and all speaking women are baby-crazy in one way or another - inkarmat and ogin both gave birth while in the story, big part of sofia's character was that she blamed herself for killing a baby which is what made her give up on "a woman's happiness", even ienaga, who physically could never give birth, got to lament about babies and given pregnant imagery upon being murdered. reducing women to their breeding capabilities is textbook misogyny, we're not put on earth to want babies and center our whole existence around it. no male character ever gets this treatment.
as for inkarmat herself, she started off as being in love with wilk and centering her identity around him to being in love with tanigaki and centering her identity around him. who is she out of her relationships to men? what are her goals, her dreams, her ambitions, her personality, her likes and dislikes? what is she as a person? what can i say about her personality except being protective of her man and good at divination? i mean, of course, she's not a complete blank state, but she wasn't given half as much complexity as most of the male cast, because she's supposed to be defined by her relationships - which, again, is lazy, inconsistent, misogynistic writing. she even got a bit of rivalry with asirpa when she was introduced and asirpa was always shown disliking her, even though she never had this energy for ANY of the men, including those who later tried to murder her.
again i do not dislike inkarmat, but i do find her writing frustrating and lackluster. most of the hate i've seen thrown at her was undisguised misogyny, though. i remember not long ago someone posting in the tag how they wish inkarmat and her dumb baby were killed so tanigaki and ogata could be together. there was a HUGE "criticism" post aimed at her that literally boiled down to "i've met women like her in real life and didn't like them". the "kinda rancid vibes" comments from people who drool over ogata, tsurumi and other degenerates. there's a lot of dishonesty here because people criticize her for being vaguely morally grey and doing things that wouldn't even turn the lights on in their heads if any of the male cast did it - the standards of purity and morality women are held to etc. i've seen people say that being stabbed in the abdomen wasn't punishment enough for her having flimsy loyalties who'd then write manifestos about why ogata is a good person and shooting sugimoto in the head was a moment of weakness and not betrayal, and other things, and other things... not that there's anything wrong with disliking any character for any reason, but sometimes it's productive to dig at the root and your own prejudice and hypocrisy, i think.

Same as my Hiruzen post, just wanna keep this analysis using the feminist (I hope I did it right and my Literature teachers won’t roll their eyes at me lol) (but it’s just for Twitter so wtvr) approach on my Tumblr too. Was posted on July 11 2020:
Ok this has been in my (Twitter) drafts for so long but I wanted to wait till I finish all 500 episodes to post this lol. I love Naruto but God, the writing for its female characters is shit. This is written based only on Naruto and Naruto Shippūden (manga and anime). I think it got better in Boruto but I’ve yet to see it. Anyway
Women are not given the burden of carrying important roles that represent relationships built throughout the series, as if, they are not capable of creating bonds strong enough to drive a character even though it is what Naruto is all about; the importance of bonds between humans.
Examples of relationships;
Friends: Naruto-Sasuke, Kakashi-Obito
Kouhai-senpai: Itachi-Shisui
Siblings: Itachi-Sasuke
Student-teacher: Naruto-Jiraiya, Naruto-Iruka, Asuma-Shikamaru
Patriotism: Itachi-Konoha, Shisui-Konoha
Lovers to enemies: Hashirama-Madara ( :p )
These relationships as we all know are the basis of the series’ plots and developments. I mean, if not for Naruto’s feelings towards Sasuke, the anime won’t exist... and if not for Sasuke’s feelings towards Itachi, he wouldn’t have abandoned Naruto... and if not for Itachi’s patriotism towards his village, he wouldn’t have killed off the Uchiha clan, which is the reason why Sasuke hated him in the first place. These three related, complementing events are I think crucial instances of what the Naruto universe is built upon. They also are the reason other relationships were able to be expanded (i.e. Itachi-Shisui share the same loyalty and love for Konoha, Naruto became Jiraiya’s apprentice to be able to compete with Sasuke).
And as u can see, no female characters are involved at all. Only time female characters are seen creating bonds and/or have a role to move the plot is when they are driven by romance (e.g. Hinata-Naruto, Tsunade-Dan, Karin-Sasuke). This paints the idea that women are only concerned of men and romance in the anime?? Even a simple friendship between female characters was almost impossible to be portrayed healthily (i.e. Sakura-Ino are supposedly good friends but they always put down each other).
The anime itself has agreed that the sole reason a female is present amongst male characters is because they are able to be motivated when a woman is around to be impressed, which will lead them to wanting to improve themselves and become better shinobi.
When Kakashi asked Hiruzen why were Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura put together in a team, the answer he got was because Sasuke needs someone with the experience of using Sharingan to be there for him when his is activated and in order to be able to control the Kyuubi inside Naruto in case it goes berserk again, Sharingan is needed, which is a sound reason why the two of them are put together.
And Sakura??? Hiruzen said (omg it still pisses me off), she’s only in Team 7 because that would drive the boys to become stronger because they would want to impress Sakura. Like?? She only exists to be a fucking trophy that could be won is it?? That’s it?? I think this was why at first I was against Sakura and Sasuke’s relationship. IT DIDN’T SEEM TRUE. Yea yea I know there are scenes that have suggested their feelings are mutual but lol let’s be real. Boruto saved it. If not for how they’re presented in Boruto,,, lol.
Anyway, Kakashi was seen to be on the same page with Hiruzen because he was reminded of how Obito worked hard to catch up to him so that he could impress Rin. The same thing happened to Hiruzen’s team; Jiraiya wanted to beat Orochimaru just to catch Tsunade’s attention. I understand that it is natural for boys (and girls) to improve themselves in order to attract the person they like but to give female characters no role other than to be a trophy?? That’s just dumb and objectifying.
Sakura got a shit ton of hate ever since Naruto (her character only improved A BIT in Shippūden), and honestly, Idt it’s her fault. Her character writing was so shit that all she ever did was scream Sasuke’s name and when Sasuke is knocked out, she’d call for Naruto. She has a great potential to become a kunoichi of the same level as her teammates but the anime never tried to put the spotlight on her. A lot of times we saw other characters say “wow Sakura has potential” but we never see that being polished on screen.
If only she was given the chance to take an active role in battles, maybe the anime would’ve appeared better in regards to its treatment towards female characters. The only battle that I remember of with Sakura taking an active part in it??? Her fight with Sasori. Not saying that her role during the war is insignificant but even with that in mind, when Sasuke is present, she could only think of him??
And SHE COULD’VE STOPPED MUGEN TSUKUYOMI BY DESTROYING OBITO’s RINNEGAN BUT BECAUSE SHE HESITATED, MADARA MANAGED TO STEAL IT!!
[ This video has all the Sakura scenes that pissed me off. ]
Why did she hesitate?? She’s a medic nin fgs?? This is what I meant by her writing is shit. The Sakura that I know wouldn’t think twice to do what she needed to. AND to think that just a few moments before, SHE SAVED NARUTO’S LIFE?? BY PUMPING HIS HEART USING HER HAND??? And he survived!! With her aid!! The fact that she managed to pull that off but not destroying Obito’s Rinnegan is just pure bullshit.
But I’m sort of glad they had the filler episodes where they showed Sakura’s (and Ino’s) growth, how they went thru their training and stuff. It’s not much but thanks for the fillers I guess?? The manga can go suck some balls.
Another mention of a female character being disregarded as an important ninja would be Konan. Throughout the Naruto vs Akatsuki arc, Konan’s skills and determination have been displayed countless of times. And I’m glad she was given the chance to prove her ability but what rubbed me off the wrong way was Jiraiya’s opinion on her. Every time he spoke of the three orphans he took in, he always mentioned Nagato’s strength and Yahiko’s desire to bring peace in a positive manner. But when it comes to Konan, his only adjective for her was “pretty”.
Konan is more than just a feminine presence with beauty as her only personality?? She’s a strong-willed person who is able to stand alongside her comrades in fighting for what they believe in. She was willing to sacrifice herself in order to defeat Obito/Madara in a heartbeat!! Jiraiya could’ve said better things about her.
From this, we can say how biased a male character’s view is on other females?? As if, only men would fight against injustices of the shinobi world but women?? uwu she pretty yes she will grow up to be a beautifoOl woman.
Kishimoto couldn’t write women very well and he admitted this himself but God, I wish he would’ve tried harder. Not able to write women well is such a shitty excuse for a writer... especially when we know his female characters are capable just as much as their male counterparts.
Also I try to take this positively but you know how during Naruto’s time, the only medic nins are his female characters? (i.e. Sakura, Ino, Tsunade) I think he meant to portray women as healers and that’s a pure intention but lol it also sort of sends the message that to him, no matter how smart and talented a woman is, they shall not be given the duty to fight!! They should just wait and be ready to receive injured comrades while the boys go fight evil and bring peace!! I wanna give credit to him for making women healers but lol does he deserve it??
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

UNPOPULAR RANT INCOMING
Call me weird but I’m not actually fond of SasuSaku in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.
Before you kill me hear me out. While I appreciate the fact we’re getting more content for this amazing ship, I’m not fond of the way the staff and writers handle their relationship. Even though Kishimoto gave 100% approval and the go-ahead to create this spin-off series, it doesn’t feel like an actual spin-off he would do. Which is ironic because he DID make his own spin off of Naruto when he created “Naruto: The Seventh Hokage and The Scarlet Spring” which featured the same characters but with more authenticity to them.
Yes. I’m saying that Boruto: Naruto Next Generations is SEVERELY OOC for not only this ship but the characters in general. Change my mind.
Sasuke’s awkwardness / clumsiness when it comes to Fatherhood is done out of proportions to a fanfiction level of ridiculousness. He was fucking there for Sarada when she was learning how to WALK. Which is one of the few memories Sarada remembers from her early years of life. So you mean to tell me that Sasuke and Sakura never talked about her future or how they were going to raise her in the village? That Sakura never reassured Sasuke that he would be a good dad to their ONLY daughter?? Even though they kept in touch throughout his abroad missions with daily letters???
Why the fuck do you think he took up the mission to hunt down Kaguya’s followers / rogue shinobi after the war? Not only to protect the village and Naruto but so he could protect his ONLY family he finally got back after years of loneliness. Sasuke was taken aback by how much Sarada had grown up since he was able to come home from his abroad missions because he was on those missions for all those years to protect her and his Wife from enemies who might come after him for revenge or to steal his power from him. He doesn’t want another Uchiha Clan Massacre to happen ever again. So Sasuke did not fail as a Father when Sarada was born or committed any faults towards his new family for being away all the time. Sasuke put the safety of his only Daughter and his Wife above his own happiness and he HATES the fact he can’t be with them all the time.
But as a Father who loves his family unconditionally, he’s willing to do the village’s dirty work in order for Sarada to grow up safely with Sakura by her side. Since he’s well aware how capable of a Mother she is.
So it makes me cringe a bit when I see Sasuke get treated like he just figured out what Fatherhood meant or that he doesn’t understand puberty at all when he was the biggest fucking emo kid in the series. Yeah no sorry I call bullshit.
