I'm so sorry if this sounds insensitive, please delete this if it does, but I loved your vent art you made. The one where you're hugging the orange dinosaur. It's been so long since I've seen you post any art and fuck it looks so good! But I know you made that when you were really hurting so I'm sorry if this comes out weird
OH thanks!! No it's not weird at all and I totally get what you're saying. Thank you for clarifying! I'm so glad you thought my art looks good, it's been so long since I've drawn anything... it's been 9 months actually!! I'm very pleased that my art style hasn't gotten too rusty after it had been forever since I'd picked up my tablet pen.
I was actually crying while drawing it, tears literally rolling down my tablet screen, yet at the same time I was thinking to myself while coloring "hoooo damn this SLAPS actually!!! 😩✊✨"

concept time;
Star of the Butterfly Dynasty was the Queen of Mewni, after meddling in the dark arts which led to the death of her own mother (yup, she’s a straight up killer guys). Her practices in the dark arts eventually led to varying transformations– her butterfly form horns became a pale red and permanent, her pupils dilated and eyes gave off a yellow glow, her ears grew pointed, and her mouth was filled with sharp teeth. Additionally, her body was covered with purple veins, traces of the dark spells (yeah Eclipsa’s spells). Basically evil star, but she’s still queen, and has enslaved or killed most monsters (and Mewmans). Toffee is the reptilian prince of monsters, hidden away from Star, and only a teen. He’s sent to Earth for his protection along with a pair of magical scissors (from Heckapoo, ex-member of the high commission), where he meets a girl named Moon, who lives with her father, Marco, in a small town. He quickly becomes her best friend, and gets in plenty of trouble despite them being relatively cautious kids (trouble just happens to find them). And basically the normal plot things happen. Instead of Ludo it’s a hunter named Ruberiot, who’s kind of equally incompetent, and The Resistance as lackeys (99% of the time they can’t along long enough to capture Toffee). Jackie is switched with River, the boy of Moon’s dreams since, like, kindergarten. Moon learns she is the daughter of Star, and that Marco took her to Earth to escape Star’s tyranny and unethical practices in dark magic. Moon steals Toffee’s scissors and flees to Mewni, to confront her mother. Using Marco’s scissors (also given to him by Heckapoo), Toffee chases after her, and he has a scuffle with the guards. Moon speaks with Star, who’s surprised to see her daughter after over a decade, and tries to persuade Moon to “join her”, but Toffee interrupts and Moon refuses. Toffee fights Star with his scissors, when Moon steals Star’s wand, her birthright, and it transforms. Moon blasts Star away, and flees with Toffee back to Earth. Back on Earth, Toffee praises Moon for being “absolutely, stunningly incredible!” causing Moon to have a slight, m a s s i v e crush on him (which is quite conflicting to her River obsession). Marco asks what happened, knowing fully well what happened, and they explain. Marco’s like 100% d o n e . But he’s a good dad and supports his daughter through this (“I had a mom all this time, and you never said anything??”) and tries his best to make her understand what he needed to do (“Moon, you saw it yourself. Your mother’s unstable”). Of course Moon has a “we can help her” mindset, but she’s not entirely sure they can herself. Marco gives her the Book of Spells, which he’s had since he left Mewni (Glossaryck’s been hibernating for years and only comes out for pudding). Then it’s something along figuring out how to use her new wand, processing she’s a princess, and that Toffee’s got a pretty price on his head. Plus she gets to go through Mewberty at some point (“Wait… Toffee’s a boy 😍😍😍” “MOON NO”). Moon gets asked by River to the dance (to Toffee’s distaste), during which Star comes to Earth and hunts down Toffee. She doesn’t come to kill him though, only give him a warning to stay out of her way and stay away from her daughter. When he refuses to stop his contact with Moon, she uses Eclipsa’s spell to cut off his finger, which he’s unable to grow back (and is terrified she can cUT FINGERS OFF). When Moon finds out, she insists Toffee leave her, pointing out she’s the reason Star did that. They’re living life pretty normally, a guy (like, equivalent of Oskar and Ruberiot) at the Song Fest™ (an indie rock festival that comes to town) and they get that blood moon ball vibe where they’re in a “couple spotlight”. Song Day: Happen. So it’s abbot awkward between them but they’re tryna be mature abt it (they can’t they failed). Then Marco goes disappearing for a couple days, the end of school party happens, and Toffee is told that his family is dead at the hands of the Queen (who still possesses magic, just not a wand). Toffee decides to return to Mewni, but before that, finds Moon, kisses her, and admits “I do like you, Moon Diaz, very much in fact”. And then l e a v e s . Smooth. Moon’s totally pissed and hunts him down on Mewni, where they gain help from Janna, an old friend of Star’s. She explains that the darkness Star’s using is from the spells and incantations in the Eclipsa chapter, and that if they wanted to stop her, they’d have to talk to Eclipsa herself. They find Rhombulus, who (hesitantly tbh) frees part of Eclipsa, and basically young moon and Eclipsa scene y'know, only this time she gets to go and say, “I need a spell to kill my mother.” They make the deal that when Star falls, Eclipsa would be freed. Toffee finds Marco in the dungeon and frees him, when they hear a loud explosion. They look to see that Star performed the whispering spell on Moon’s wand, which destroyed itself and took Moon along with it (u know where this is goin). Toffee becomes so enraged he flat out murders Star this ain’t a kids au no more. Moon does the whole dipping dooooooowwwwnnnnnn thing and revives with a new wand (new designs, yay!) and the crushing news her mom’s dead but it ain’t that crushing. Eclipsa’s freed, and takes over as “Queen of Mewni”, saying since she was when she left off she should still be now, which tbh the people are fine with because sure she’s been dead for hundreds of years and yeah she ran off with a monster lover but she’s better than Star so. Moon doesn’t mind so much since she doesn’t want to leave Earth so soon, especially her father, and knows nothing about being queen anyways (Jesus Christ, she realizes, she’s going to have to be a queen one day). Toffee’s hailed as Monster Savior, but tbh he just wants to go home. To earth. even tho moon’s still angry abt the kiss she wants aNSWERS DANGIT. And they get to live happy (for now).
