SHE WANTS TO TALK ABOUT / for the first time since it happened she wants to talk about it / the same way she wanted to talk about the - other - it when Nina asked, careful, can you tell me where you got that bruise? EVER SINCE SHE WAS LITTLE, HOLDING IN PAIN, but it wasn’t suffocating before, it was okay before. Because someone else was holding it, too. It’s so hard, to be the only one carrying a secret.

She curls smaller into herself where she sits beside him / on his couch, snuggled up, a too - late movie night ( no horror movies, they make her cry, he doesn’t push ) that gives way to quiet promises and quieter confessions. Her lips part, then close. They part again.

She doesn’t know if he’s asking about the scars, or the angry, faded - yellow bruise against her jawline.

“My — parents have always b - been —— my dad’s always been bad,” she says, voice soft, small. “But it was okay, ‘cause my friends ——— they saved me. From him, and myself, and I was — with them, and safe, and ———” And and and. And. “And then they all died.”

Cass inhales in a way she can tell he’s trying to keep natural, even though she can’t look at him, staring over the blanket on her knees. He shifts a little closer. She lets him.

“A — a monster killed them,” she says softly, voice fracturing. She feels tears press at her cheeks. She cries a lot now. “And I —— I survived, but I had to go back to my dad, and it’s so — it’s so useless that I survived, because I can’t ——— do anything.” She can’t breathe or be in the dark or take a job or smell meat. She can’t hold guns or be far from one. She’s so scared, all the time, every second. “And it’s just — how come I got to live, and nobody else did, and —— and I’m not more special than they are.”

Her face lowers and she hides her eyes behind her knees when the tears start. It’s so stupid that she’s alive despite the odds, that she’s alive and not Nina or Adrian or any of the others, who all deserved it at least as much as she did. It’s so stupid that she’s alive and all the people that made being alive bearable are dead.

Cass moves closer, their sides touching, sharing warmth beneath the blanket. She doesn’t look up as her pale, scarred, trembling hand gropes along the couch until it finds his, curling into it. He squeezes, holds tight enough to help the shaking.

It’s so stupid that she’s alive, but —— but there’s still one person left that makes being alive bearable. Anastasia squeezes his hand back.

It feels good. For somebody else to know.

1. Ursula and Maleficent are rivals so Uma and Mal being rivals also tracks.

2. The Evil Queen and Maleficent are rivals for Hades' affections and for the status of "The Evilest of Them All'.

3. The Evil Queen claims not to be Hades' girlfriend, but they just had "an interesting weekend" on Castaway Cay. And therefore, I headcanon that she is Hadie’s mom. Probably conceived sometime around Evie’s banishment.

4. In the Disney Villains: Top Secret Files, Maleficent is featured in her own section. According to the pieces of information provided, Maleficent's last name is Faery.

5. She was actually invited to Aurora's birth ceremony and that the invitation simply never got to her castle because she burnt the postman to death (believing him to be a trespasser) before he could deliver it.

6. Her dragon form also appeared in The Little Mermaid series episode "Heroes" as a sea dragon.

42. Though the Beast's official age is not mentioned in the movie, it is strongly indicated by the narrator's statement that the rose "would bloom until his 21st year." As the rose has already begun to wilt by the time Belle arrives at the castle, it is very likely that the Beast is 20 years (i.e. on their 21st year) of age by this point.

In authorized supplementary comics, most notably The New Adventures of Beauty and the Beast, the Prince is never shown as being older than a preteen when he's shown as a human; moreover, the palace staff all refer to his pre-curse self as "a young boy" or "child". Two individual comics show that the Prince was originally a few years older than Chip, who didn't age during the curse, and shows him as being a couple of years older than Belle herself. The comics also show that the Prince has had a few run-ins with the disguised Enchantress, meaning that he'd still be a preteen when he was cursed.

44. Despite her slim figure, Belle seems to have considerable strength. She may have lifted the Beast, as evidenced by the Beast being placed onto Philippe's back, although this was never shown on-screen. Later on, she was able to pull the Beast up onto a balcony.

In the musical, specifically the song "No Matter What" one of the lyrics had Maurice stating "You are your mother's daughter; therefore you are class ... crème de la crème", implying that Belle was part of the social upper class. This was also supported by Belle having a portrait of her and her mom in the Enchanted Tales of Belle attraction.

49. In earlier drafts, Aladdin had three human friends named Babkak, Omar, and Kassim.

50. In the episode "Two to Tangle", it's revealed that Aladdin has unexplored magic powers hidden within his soul. This may possibly be a link to him being "The Diamond In The Rough".

Since I shared Center of the Multiverse, I want to share Chance at Love— which is the Alternate Universe and Accompanying Multiverse of that.

——Chance at Love——

In this AU, Fenris does not get kidnapped by FATE and is instead allowed to live a relatively normal life with her adoptive family.

The house in Snowdin is slightly different to the OG, with two extra rooms, actual bathrooms, and the basement is larger + accessible. Gaster’s office is inaccessible.

Humans evolved to have magic instead of monsters to better survive underground

-Would rather die than go to the doctor, it took years for Alphys to be in the same building as her with a needle

-Once, Gaster sent his three kids out to buy eggs (Sans was 15). They came back with a carton of eggs, and a young hen held in his youngest’s arms.

-The Hen stayed, was named Garfield, and became the main source of eggs in the house. They do not know how Garfield has lived as long as she has, the running theory is that she’s God

-There is, in fact, a cultish following for Garfield the Hen, mostly occupied by awe-struck children

-They all love animated movies, Inside Out is Papyrus’s fav movie, Sans will always stand with Anastasia, and Fenris will fight to the death over Fox and the Hound

-They have a box of pet-toys that belong to Garfield and Fen exclusively, and each of them know whose is whose

-Garfield lives in the house, and has a harness-vest to go on walks with. Everyone in Snowdin knows shes off limits, allowed to strut around like the queen she is

-Everyone also knows that Fenris will bite everyone but Papyrus, Sans, and Grillby

-Everyone loves to play with Wolf!Fenris

-Wolf! Fenris is also the softest-floof-dog you’ll ever meet (it’s because of Papyrus and the shampoo he forces onto her)

While Wolf!Fenris does not wear clothes, she will wear a harness. Fenris’ clothes do not get ruined by transformation, and seemingly disappear until she turns back into a human. Wolf!Fenris will also be wearing a collar, usually with a tracker on it (mostly in Fell verses or worlds where she needs to track things down. She is often helpful in finding missing people), but this collar will not always appear on human Fenris.

The only time her clothes get ruined is during a forced half-transformation, where Fenris is more-so becoming a werewolf instead. There are two level’s to Werewolf transformation, the half-transformation, and the full. Full Werewolf transformation does not ruin the clothes despite form’s size. Werewolf is different than Wolf.

actually, yeah! for years at this point 😅 ive always had this original verse just kinda sitting in the back of my head with ocs ive posted about here and there - rhombi, celes, diana, those guys - and their story keeps changing focus as i get older but i still don't really know if i wanna go through with it

originally it was like a YA type thing, then it was a graphic novel, then it was a webcomic, then back to graphic novel, and im just in an eternal state of indecisive that i dont really know what i want to do with them. i dont talk about them in great detail because that idea is still there, but also because theyve been changed so much that theyre always at varying stages of rework or development its hard to talk about. most consistent things have been that diana has always been a main focus along with her formerly-friends-now-girlfriends andrea and anastasia, and rhombi's always kind of been his own thing thats grown to be a good viewpoint into multiple story ideas that i have running simultaneously

bunch of barcode scrubbed characters, all of them got extremely queer, ones like rhombi (and an old one named avalon) got trans'd, and im just. very tempted to write it but also i dont want to jump into it without a clear goal. and rn i dont have a strong idea of what the overarching story would be? so ig we'll have to see

Deputy Commissioner Vaganov came back from Paris without all of himself, the girls decide, but they need him, because the only thing worse than being an informant is being a former informant so they must fix him. Paulina nearly manages it. She's simple but not completely stupid and she knows men, so perhaps she can fix their poor wounded Deputy Commissioner. After all, she nursed that lost kitten back to health only last year; she is the most qualified to heal wounded creatures. (The kitten had barely lasted a month out of her care. Dunya hadn’t had the heart to tell her of the cruelty of Leningrad and ruin her optimism.)

Frankly I want your director's commentary on this whole fic; it's one of my favorites of yours. <3

Right off the bat: I had actually forgotten I wrote this. I saw "A Kindness" and squinted at it. (Fic, if you've also forgotten.) This was a fic that sort of sprang into the world almost fully formed, directly into DMs with the intent of hurting the recipient. That was the main motivation, aside from fleshing out the world and characters of Leningrad in a way that Anastasia refuses to do.

Paulina (in canon) is one of the women who auditions for the part of Anastasia. Marfa is the one with the hilariously over the top reading, Dunya is the one who snaps at Dmitry the strongest. Paulina is a sort of a wild card, so I put her in the space of being a little sweet and simple compared to her friends, while being most emotionally astute and honest.

Metatextually, Paulina is usually played by the actress cast as teen!Anastasia (who's also the understudy Anya). What this means to me is that she looks the most like Anastasia of all of them. In fact, she literally looks more like Anastasia than Anya does.

So all of that brings us to this: a situation where the officer they're being paid by has come back from the events in Paris completely shattered, and all three girls go, oh shit. These women are prostitutes, they are willing to do whatever they need to do to get by, and if they need to DIY therapy, they will. Except they dont know what's wrong with him or the fact they, specifically Paulina, cannot help.

In this part, I was underscoring that Paulina is coming from a good place. She means well, she'd never hurt him intentionally, and that sets up the contrast of the fact it does hurt him and he lashes out in turn. (And since this is Aftermath verse, it's obviously tinged by the fact Gleb isn't even sad or cruel consciously. He's simply surviving, as so many do.)

The kitten detail is just to drive home all of this characterization. Paulina means well, she will take in wounded creatures and expend energy and emotions to be kind to them. The gut punch is the foreshadowing: she wants to fix Gleb like she fixed the kitten, but all her efforts with the kitten ultimately got swallowed by the wide, awful world and the kitten died.

She doesn't do much better in trying to fix Gleb.

A Swen's Guide to the Into the Story-Verse Alternate Realities

Ladies and, in a broader sense, gentlemen, as December begins, we’re back with another entry to our humble guide, where we go through the alternate realities presented in the Into the Story-Verse fic - the last (for the time being) part of the Swan-Mills saga by the brilliant @swanqueeneverafter

And our regular readers will know which reality are we gonna discuss this week...

!!!SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

Code name: Gamma Reality

First entered: by Will Scarlet in chapter 11

Set: Wonderland (with flashes of Victorian England, the Enchanted Forest, and Agrabah), past till present-ish (it’s complicated this time, okay?)

Fixed by: true love’s kisses - first between Will and Anastasia, second between Alice and Cyrus - both in chapter 47

Unfinished business: for Will - not giving up on Anastasia, for Alice - saving her brother (partly from himself)

Gamma reality is the longest-running alternate reality of all of the six realities portrayed in ITSV. Much like Beta Reality, Gamma influences our reality greatly, and even intertwines with it.

We follow the story of the Scarlet siblings from Alice’s pitiful childhood spent in an asylum where her own father puts her after she returns from Wonderland. That’s where Will finds Alice when he enters this reality and with the help of the White Rabbit rescues her.

The driving force behind Gamma Reality is Jafar, who chooses this reality because it’s where Cyrus - the genie he needs the most hides. Cyrus, who as it turns out, Gamma Realty’s Alice fell in love with in the past. Cyrus, who at the same time he’s in Jafar’s cell in Wonderland’s past is kept locked in Hengist’s fortress and being searched for by his mother in our reality. Toldya, it’s... complicated.

As Jafar seeks to force Alice into using her three wishes so he could become Cyrus’s new master, Anastasia, or rather the Red Queen, works with him, because she wants to break the laws of magic and return back in time to change her fate as every other ‘evil queen’.

The ‘problem’ is, Anastasia may be a heartless bitch, but she still loves Will, and so the two love stories run next to one another, one almost naive - Alice and Cyrus, the other heartbreakingly bittersweet - Will and Anastasia. All the time Jafar tries to become Cyrus’s master and everyone else tries to stop Jafar for good.

Alice’s wishes are actually when the twisty turny timey wimey business comes in, because Alice wishes Cyrus, his mother, and the White Rabbit into our reality, and since they’re not human, the change of reality doesn’t affect their sense of self, they can use being in the ‘future’ to their advantage.

Jafar ultimately ends up being turned into a genie himself after Amara returns the magical water to the Well of Wonders. However, before that, he managed to kill Anastasia - nothing a true love’s kiss wouldn’t fix though.

Let’s also not forget the powerful parallels of the father/son relationships of Jafar and Sultan and Will and Edwin.

And so, we leave the reality after Alice and Cyrus’ wedding, beautifully paralleled in our reality’s long-awaited wedding of Robyn and Alice.

SQ storyline

Like the Alpha Reality, Gamma Reality gave us a glimpse of Emma and Regina’s story in this reality in the Epilogue, since the main storyline followed the Scarlet Siblings. Since this storyline hasn’t been commented on before (well, by me), let’s briefly go over it...

Princess Emma asks her father whether the rumours of the Evil Queen returning are true, Charming tells her not to worry - oh, Charming, fear was the latest thing on your daughter’s mind...

...instead of staying in the safety of the castle, the Princess follows the Evil Queen’s tracks to a village to hear the truth about how Snow defeated the Queen and also to not so subtly ogle her mother’s nemesis...

...and because lust-filled stares weren’t the only thing the two women exchanged, not long afterwards the Charmings find the Princess taking care of the Evil Queen, just not in the ‘killing’ sort of a way (even though it’s not called la petite mort for nothing, I suppose)...

...which they do in the last moment we see them - the Evil Queen and her Warrior Princess laying waste to Snow’s kingdom and happy ending...

...Emma also informs them that she’s joining Regina and they’ll soon take the kingdom back...

Which ASOIAF ship would you attach to Century Fox’s Anastasia? If you haven’t seen it, any other animated children movie set in ASOIAF-verse is just as welcome.

I have seen anastasia but... er let's say that I have ideological issues with that movie's take on the russian revolution so I have... issues... recasting it in general (like no judging I GET it the main ship is a+ but the last time I watched it I cringed every two seconds don't mind me) so I'll give you alternatives not counting b&tb-related stuff because everyone has done that grrm first and foremost xD

idek if or when i'll get around to it but i've been wanting to do treasure planet with theon as jim and davos as long john silver for years so take it as you want anyway I went to fish that recast it also had wex as morph, jon as the robot, ygritte as amelia and robb as doppler with davos getting crackshipped with alannys and idek how I'd have split it so that robb worked in there but anyway the idea was there

also always wanted to do hunchback of notre dame with a twist as in frollo!c. keeps postaerys!jaime locked up in the tower with only tyrion and maybe sometimes bronn keeping him company until he falls in love with esmeralda!brienne while ditching poor phoebus bc in that context it wouldn't make sense but if I can manage it with quasimodo!tyrion and least-likely-esmeralda-ever!bronn i'mma consider it

ssooooo i have two possible versions of hercules one bc I had once recast it and one because I have it on the commission list so you get both (commissioned one is happening at some point hopefully soon the other one we'll see but), commissioned: jb with hercules!brienne and meg!jaime, hades!tywin/cersei split probably, phil!tyrion and everything else is being currently elaborated, the one I had thought of ages ago: hercules!robb, meg!theon, hades!tywin, sandor/bronn as pain and panic, phil!jaime and brienne at the same time
