I love this idea and what we can do with it, with Dream knowing in his core that he loves nightmare and thus trusts him but nightmare taking advantage of his state.

(maybe by seeing Dream being affectionate he'll develop true feelings for him not based on obsession and they'll then live the rest of their immortal lives in a non toxic relationship??? \(•-•)/ No? Okay then...)

Im probably asking for too much here, but if its true that Jay ends up having amnesia in DR2 and possibly working with villains, then wouldnt it make sense for him and Zane to end up getting some screentime together? Yknow, Zane, Amnesiac Georg himself, whos had amnesia like 50 times at this point and is possibly the only person on the team who could truly understand Jays situation? Zane, who also lost his memory and ended up with the bad guys??

Like cmon. It practically writes itself. I know any amnesia arc Jay gets will probably revolve around Nya bc theyre love interests, but still. Its right there. Itd not only make perfect sense, but also itd create a great opportunity to explore Jay and Zanes dynamic more since its so criminally underrepresented in canon so far.

The Urge was a part of her. She was fine with it, it was part of her identity. It has now been forcibly cut out of her body.

Her father killed her, another powerful being resurrected her with unclear motives, and now there's a giant hole in her soul that isn't ever going to go away.

I mean, honestly, how would that work? To have everything of your father ripped out of you? It sounds horrific. To go through that kind of identity fracture.

She enjoyed killing before, Bhaal made it euphoric. Now it feels like nothing. But that doesn't change the fact that she still has to do it to survive.

Are there other joys that are missing? How long would it take to notice them? The Urge influenced how she thought about morality and the nature of Gods. When she thinks about those topics now, would her previous opinions make as much sense?

Who even is she without the Urge?

ack!!! i love an amnesia au, i absolutely do, and i especially love the Anakin Shmison au (ficlet on ao3 here), because it's just. like it's tragic. anakin commits his atrocities but in their fight on mustafar, obi-wan hits him hard enough that he loses all memory of anakin skywalker. obi-wan doesn't let him burn, but he can't bring himself to forgive him either because when he looks at him all he sees is anakin, who killed younglings. anakin, who swore himself to another master. anakin who destroyed obi-wan's family. anakin, who he loved and grieves and still loves.

anyway yeah the new anakin ends up joining the rebellion and years later convinces obi-wan to also join and they fall in love as anakin shmison and obi-wan (ben) kenobi

but like. it's still tragic because anakin did these things, but anakin is dead technically but not really but sort of, and obi-wan has to work through his own emotions and they never know what will trigger him to lash out at anakin shmison but just. sometimes he looks so much like anakin skywalker, and obi-wan doesn't know if the fact that he isn't hurts more than the fact that he's someone else, someone different.

anyway, i know i never really expanded much on that prompt fill, but in my mind anakin never actually fully regains his memories. he's shmison for the rest of his life, to intensify the tragedy.

i just love the idea of anakin shmison tearing facets of his personality and identity away from the ghosts of skywalker, never really knowing what is uniquely his and what he will accidentally say that makes obi-wan look at him like he's seen a ghost
