amechuweek  July 4th: Celebration@amechuweek
If you were a teardrop; In my eye,
And if the golden sun,Should cease to shine its light,
For fear of losing you,I would never cry.
Just one smile from you,Would make my whole world bright.
Happy birthday, my love
如果你是我眼里的一滴泪,为了不失去你,我将永不哭泣;
如果金色的阳光停止了它耀眼的光芒,你的一个微笑,将照亮我的整个世界。
生日快乐,我的爱人

Beginnings for Day 1 of Amechu Week
A high school/Human AU where Yao just moved from China to the United States.
@amechuweek
Yao hated this. It was his senior year of high school, and of course his father got an overseas job in America’s Pacific Northwest, so now he’s spending his senior year in a foreign land with weird customs and habits.
It helped a little that he moved into an area that was highly populated with other Asian people, especially other Chinese people, but a lot of them were second or third generation, so he didn’t feel like he fit in too much. At least they spoke Mandarin fluently and he could practice his English with them.
So, Yao went to school and tried to figure out how American school’s work. It was nothing like what school was like in China. For starters, it was a much shorter day, the students were much more distant than Chinese students, and on top of that the food (if you could call it that) that was fed to the students smelled funny and tasted about as good as it looked…it didn’t.
Still, food was food, and Yao was hungry. Sitting away from everyone in a corner, he munched on…something…he assumed it was supposed to be pizza, but it tasted soggy, not that he’s eaten a lot of pizza before, but the pizza he did have tasted a whole lot better than whatever this soggy bread was supposed to be.
Looking up at the lunch tables he noticed that a lot of people were laughing together and suddenly he felt very lonely. He missed his friends back home. He missed the food back home. He missed his home so badly he wanted to cry, but his pride would not let him cry in front of all these people.
Suddenly, there was a shadow that overcame him, and he looked up to see a honey-blonde boy standing over him. The most noticeable thing about him was that he had a tuft of hair sticking straight up from his forehead.
Yao opened his mouth to ask what the boy wanted but was greeted by the most god-awful mandarin he’d ever heard. It was clear that it was supposed to be Mandarin, but the grammar was terrible, and the boy’s American accent was very strong.
“Stop. Please. I speak English.” Yao replied to the boy in English, hoping that he’d stop butchering his native language.
“Oh, didn’t know that! I’m Alfred by the way.”
“You didn’t ask. I’m Yao.”
“Was my Chinese really that bad?” The blonde asked genuinely, sitting himself next to Yao.
“It was.” Yao replied bluntly “Where’d you learn it, Duolingo?”
“Sagwa mostly. My mom had it on VHS when I was a kid.”
“What’s Sagwa?” Yao asked completely confused.
“Oh, it’s an old tv show about a Chinese cat. Yeah, not many people here know it either.”
“You learned Chinese…from a cat?”
“Yeah! Anyhow, why’re you eating over in the corner here?”
“What’s wrong with eating in the corner.”
“Well for starters you’re all alone and you look miserable dude.”
“You came all the way over here to tell me this did you?” Yao replied annoyed.
“Nah, came over here to invite you to our table. Come on!” Alfred replied, grabbing Yao by his arm before dragging him over to a group of people.
“Hey y’all this is Yao.” The annoying blonde introduced him.
“So, you got picked up by this git too?” A blonde British boy asked from across the table. “He likes picking up us foreign exchange students.”
“Dude gross, that sounds like I’m trying to hook up with y’all.” The honey blonde says as he sticks his tongue out at the other blonde.
“Please don’t fight you two.” A short black-haired boy sighed beside the British boy before turning to Yao. “I’m Kiku. Where are you from?”
“Wuhan.” Yao replied, looking at Kiku’s bento box, which looked a lot more appetizing than what he currently had.
“I thought you were Chinese?” Alfred replied, rudely stealing a fry off of Yao’s tray.
“Wuhan is a city in China, you idiot.” A tall boy with a strong Russian accent replied from behind Alfred, holding a paper bag. “Also, you are in my seat.”
The tall boy put his bag on Alfred’s head, presumably to annoy him into moving somewhere else. Alfred just looked up at the platinum blonde and gave a cheesy smile.
“My seat now Ivan. Anywho, only one we’re missing now is Francis.”
“Right here.  Who’s this?” A boy with a heavy French accent asked as he draped himself on Yao’s shoulders, who stiffly froze at the sudden contact. Alfred frowned and peeled the long haired blonde off of Yao protectively.
“His name’s Yao. Be nice to him dude!”
“Question: Did he do the terrible google translate thing with you as well?” The tall Russian boy asked Yao as he sat down besides Francis across the table, pulling out his own lunch.
“I never want to hear him try to speak French again. It was the worst thing I’ve ever heard in my life, and I wanted to cry hearing him speaking … whatever it was that he was speaking” Francis complained dramatically.
“Dude, I’m literally right here. I can hear you.” Alfred complained throwing a fry at the French boy playfully.
“Good. Then stop doing that shit.” The British boy responded.
“I’m trying to be friendly Arthur!”
“You introduced yourself to me by asking if I watch Doctor Who.”
“You do watch Dr. Who.” Kiku said with a soft smile towards Arthur.
Whose side are you on?” Arthur complained weakly.
Yao couldn’t help but watch as everyone conversed freely with each other, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company. He suddenly felt a heavy hand clap on his shoulder, and he turned to look at Alfred, who had a very serious look on his face.
“Listen man, anyone makes fun of you for any reason or hurts you in any way, you come to me, and I’ll take care of it.”
Yao gave the honey blonde a look of disbelief.
“Why would you do that for a random kid you just met?”
A bright wide smile broke out onto Alfred’s face, making everything seem alright with the world.
“Because I’m the hero, and that’s what hero’s do.”
“You literally stole fries off of my tray mister hero.” Yao laughed as Alfred tries to come up with an excuse.
Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad here. These people didn’t seem so bad, and everyone accepted him instantly. The only thing he’d change right now is the food. Maybe he could make some food to share with everyone tomorrow.
He’s glad Alfred came over to say hi to him.

*walks in months later with starbucks*
(truly showing my age with that line)
i’m still around. i’m still thinking about this and with my complete career shift i’m super interested in doing my massive rewrites and shit HOWEVER i now actually have time to do things!
more info under the cut but TLDR: i want an active sensitivity reader and i need to find artists
feel free to send asks if you can help me find either! or wanna be either!!
first things first hi
a brief reintroduction
i’m mod maya and i’m not south asian so i just wanna make sure that’s clear. i’m just an old guard of the hetalia fandom who latched onto India in 2011 during hetaween and just never stopped loving him. i also stopped reading hetalia in general in like 2016? so i don’t know anything that’s happened since aside from spain once like drank or ate olive oil. i’m too scared to ask for more details about it.
i AM a person of color, specifically i’m Black. i’m also super into other hetalia characters besides this family and run @amechuweek !
uhhh i can’t think of what else to really say here. someone just left a comment on one of my old south asia fam fics and almost made me cry so it reminded me that i should do what i set out to do and finish reading the 20 south asia history books i’ve purchased or friends have bought for me.
you can as always find me over on my main blog @godtiercomplex

i'm hella inactive but i do run @hwssouthasia along with focusing on hws china and america and running that ship week (@amechuweek) ? so what's the criteria besides being a person of color to be added to the list?
So long as you are a content creator that is a POC, you are welcome to be added on the list. This does also extend to blogs that are based around events that include at least one character of color. I'll go ahead and add you on!

It turned out horribly but this is all I could come up with in a lovely sleepless night.
And honesty I think that the trapeze dance (if you can call it like that) is one of the most unique and romantic things a couple might bond trough.

Amechuweek 2018 July 1st
Day one: Dance
My lovely dancer
Her skirt flows as she moves
As she taps with her shoes
With a smile on her lips
As she swings her hips
Sweating like a horse
As she dances with force
Blond hair in a bun
She’s having fun
Far taller than I
She seems to fly
She looks so happy
And I feel sappy
To want to dance with her
My lovely dancer

Day 2/3 for Amechu Week
The themes here are mistakes/forgiveness from day 2 and all 3 prompts from day 3
@amechuweek
Summary: It's their 3rd anniversary...and someone forgot about it! Can he fix it before he no longer has a chance to? Takes place in Wuhan, China.
“ALFRED FREDRICK JONES!” A voice from the kitchen yelled.
“Uh oh. Full name. I’m in trouble!” Alfred notes as he finished writing something down, pocketing it, and heading down the stairs as quickly as he could.
“Yes, dear?” He asked as he got to the kitchen, a sour-looking Yao meeting his gaze.
“Don’t ‘dear’ me! Do you even know what day it is?” Yao asks crossing his arms across his chest.
           “Uhh, Tuesday?” Alfred tried pathetically.
“Yes, but more specifically!” Yao scolded.
Alfred searched his memory, trying to figure out what could be so important today. He tried to look to Yao for a clue as to what he was missing, but Yao didn’t budge. Realizing that Alfred really didn’t know, Yao’s face fell, and he shrank into himself.
“Al, it’s our 3rd Anniversary today… You forgot last year too.” He said sadly.
“Hey, we had a nice dinner last year!” Alfred tried to counter, but Yao still looked hurt.
“Yeah, after a 3-hour wait and driving around for 2 hours for some mediocre food that I could have made at home but better! … You knew how important this was to me, Al.” Yao said embittered, turning away from the honey blonde.
Alfred frowned. Yao was clearly upset, and Alfred had to fix this fast, or he might not have any more chances to.
“Hey,” Alfred said as he gently pulled Yao’s hands into his “Why don’t you go get on a nice outfit and I’ll take you out somewhere, and we’ll have a great time. Let me fix this Yao. I promise it’ll be worth it.”
Yao wanted to yank his hands away and lock himself in their room. Alfred would have deserved it too. Alfred’s eyes showed no sign of him lying or trying to bullshit something on the spot, one of his tells that Yao had learned over the years, but genuine warmth and a willingness to make it right.
“Fine. Tonight better be extraordinary or else…” Yao didn’t finish his threat, but he also knew he didn’t have to.
“Alright. Go get dressed, and I’ll meet you out in the car in 15 minutes.” Alfred replied with a warm, yet childish grin.
Yao sighed. Alfred’s smile was one of his biggest weaknesses and one of the reasons that he fell in love with the blonde in the first place…the muscles didn’t hurt though.
He headed up the stairs and got changed into a nice suit and tie, but looking in the mirror, something just seemed missing from his outfit. He took out the hairband holding his long hair up and decided to let down his hair, brushing it out until it was neat and smooth. Usually, he didn’t like having it down since it got in the way, but tonight was a special occasion, so he’d let his hair down both metaphorically and literally tonight.
He walked out towards the car as Alfred turned around. Alfred’s jaw hit the floor as he saw the love of his life walk out of their house. Yao felt a little self-conscious, but Alfred quickly composed himself and opened the side door for Yao.
“Wouldn’t it be faster to take the train?” Yao asks as Alfred gets into the car on the driver’s side.
“Just…trust me, alright? I promise I’m not gonna screw tonight up.”
“Fine, just make sure we get there in one piece.”
“You look handsome by the way.”
Yao finally took a glance at what Alfred was wearing, and it was significantly more formal than it had been before he suggested Yao change into something nice. He must have changed at the same time.
“So do you,” Yao says, and it’s not just formality, he does look handsome.
After driving for a while, Alfred pulls up to a very expensive-looking hotel and parks the car.
“Here we are! Come on!” Alfred announces as he hops out of the car.
“This… is really fancy,” Yao comments nervously.
“Right? Let’s go, let’s go!” Alfred replies as he gently pulls Yao by the hand to the door.
Yao was just as shocked as the person at the front desk when Alfred fluently announces that he had a reservation in perfect Mandarin, nodded, then dragged Yao over to the Elevator to get to the restaurant.
“You’ve been practicing!” Yao praised a nervous Alfred after the door closes.
“Just for you babe,” Alfred replied in English, giving Yao a small peck on the top of his head.
Once they got to the restaurant, they followed the hostess to a beautiful view of the Yangtze River. Not only did they have a reservation, but it was for a restaurant for such a great view. The sun was just beginning to set, and the river danced in the evening lighting.
“Whoa.” Yao breathed, looking out at the amazing view.
“Amazing, right?” Alfred excitedly whispered in Yao’s ear from behind, pushing his chair in for him. “Anyways, you order, I’ll be back. Gotta go uh take care of business.”
Before Yao could say anything, Alfred took off, leaving Yao alone at the table. Perhaps it wouldn’t be so bad after all. He took a glance at the menu noticing that it was a Chinese restaurant with some of Yao’s favorite foods. He didn’t want to know how expensive it was, so he pretended not to see the prices. After an almost worrying amount of time, Alfred came back, adjusting his tie as he often did when he was nervous. They ordered and patiently waited for their food.
“Alright, time for you to come clean,” Yao says sitting back in his chair after a while.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” Alfred replied, the smile on his face telling Yao he knew exactly what Yao was talking about.
“How long have you been planning this?”
“A few months,” Alfred admits after a long pause, looking sheepishly away from Yao.
“A few months?!” Yao echoed in disbelief as Alfred shifted nervously in his seat.
“I know I messed up bad last year, so this year I wanted to surprise you, make things perfect, ya know?…. You’re not still mad are you, you know, for tricking you?”
Yao smiled softly. Alfred was such a sweetheart, and Yao had never guessed that he had been thinking about this kind of thing for literal months.
“Quite the opposite actually. Let’s not do that in the future, but you’re forgiven.”
“Deal,” Alfred replies with a bright relaxed smile.
The two men enjoyed the view with a very delicious dinner. Yao was having a great time laughing and chatting with the man he loved. It was moments like this that made everything worth it, and Yao wouldn’t trade it for anything. They even bought some overpriced desserts to enjoy together.
After Alfred paid for the meal (he refused to let Yao even see the check), they packed up and the two of them headed for the elevator together.
“Thank you, Alfred. I enjoyed that.” Yao said sincerely, grabbing Alfred’s hand with his own.
“Don’t thank me yet. Wait until we get to our room.” Alfred replied with a mischievous wink as he hit the up button.
“Our…room? Like a hotel room?” Yao asked confused, yet curious why they were going in the opposite direction of the reception desk.
“You didn’t seriously believe I was in the bathroom for that long, did you? I had to check in and get our things to the room. Sorry if I packed something you don’t like, I was in a rush to pack before you noticed.”
“Have I ever told you how much I love you?” Yao asks affectionately.
“Couldn’t hurt to hear it again.” Alfred teased.
With that Yao pulls Alfred down by his collar into a deep kiss, breaking it off as they got to their floor.
           “That much.”
