It's pretty much everywhere right now, but if you haven't Heard (pun intended), the jury released a verdict on the Depp Heard lawsuits.

I'm sharing this particular article because it's the only one I've found thus far that doesn't make it sound like both won. Johnny Depp won on all three points in his suit, that Amber's op-ed was a defamatory lie that was clearly written about Johnny Depp with malicious intent.

Amber only won on one point of three, on a statement made by Depp's attorney. Really, the particular statement deemed false was just pushing a bit too hard.

This is NOT a win for Amber Heard.

It IS a win for equal rights for women and men.

It IS a win for victims of domestic abuse, especially men.

I'm still going to watch the rest of the trial, even though we know the outcome now. Let me know if you would like me to continue posting my thoughts.

It is an age old narrative that has been used to discredit women for centuries. Tbh, I agree with the idea that the animosity towards Amber Heard from Depp fans was already there, as far back as 2013. Before this mess or any of the allegations were even made.

Because they *loved* Vanessa Paradis and Johnny as a couple and their idealised idea that the two were perfectly happy in France with their kids.

Which probably wasn’t true. He had anger and substance abuse problems long before he met Amber. I don’t think him and Vanessa were all sunshine and rainbows, either.

i'm exhausted too. and same, i wasn't even a fan of her before all of this omg its just so tiring seeing the way the internet is treating her and how i know its going to effect abuse survivors in so many ugly ways. people who defame heard so violently have no sense of empathy for others AT ALL. this goes beyond one woman's case; it paves the way for how people will come forward with their sexual assault stories and what reaction they will be met with for years to come.
