Dick Grayson/Nightwing
It happened at a gala. He had brought you with him because he liked having you around, especially to show off to others. But what he wasn't expecting was someone to actually kiss your hand.
His mind goes blank for a moment, but his anger returns once he's out of his trance. He doesn't do much, just walks up to you and drags you away, briefly giving the guy the best death glare he can muster. Afterward, he sits at the table and waits for the guy to leave before he gets back up again.
He's pretty pissed. He stays by you for the rest of the gala, and it doesn't leave his mind for a few days, but after a while he semi forgets about it. However, any time you both go to a gala or something similar, he is very protective and hovers close by, glued to your side.
Jason Todd/Red Hood
This was his first gala after he came back to the family. He was originally not going to go, but Bruce somehow convinced you to go, and you were too adorable eto say no to, which is how he ended up here, watching as some asshat try to woo you over.
He doesn't get too physical, but he does step in between you and the guy, asking him if he needed somehting. The man backs off because Jason is 6' and huge in comparison, and he really doesn't want to start a fight with a man who could sock him within 2 seconds.
Jason just becomes very grumpy after this. His mood, night and time at the gala is ruined, and no matter what you do, he won't stop mumbling. However, after the gala, he does become more happy, and by the end of the night, after trying to cheer him up, he eventually stops and tries to become more happier. He is glad, though, that he doesn't see the little shrimp anymore.
Tim Drake/Red Robin
Again, also probably happened at a gala. If not, I would guess a party at the Wayne Manor. He jus tbrings oyu around because he worries about what you'll do when your alone, but seeing someone kiss your hand makes him regret even bringing you.
He doesn't have any shock time, he just walks up, takes your hand, and walks away. He won't let you say any bye's either, he's gonna walk out and go home with you. Ends up with you two cuddling in his fancy apartment.
Afterward, he wouldn't even bring you to anymore galas. Partys, yeah he probably still would just because it's his home, he knows what's going down, and he almost always knows where you are at all times. But galas? He won't even think about it, he might even make you sick or try to convince your mind otherwise so he won't have to bring you. Of course, if it does come to that he'll stay right by your side.
Damian Wayne/Robin (aged up obvi)
It was his 21st birthday. Bruce had hosted a party at the Manor ("Damian, please." "Fine."), and had invited most of their super friends, however, he had also invited some different important people from his buisness. Unfortunatly, one of those people was more old fashioned than the rest, and had kissed your hand as a sign of respect.
Damian did not like that. He did not like that all. None of them caused much of a commontion about it, but for Damian, he had the guest be kicked out. Unpromptly. When someone asked him about it, he said he had made lewd remarks and gesteres towards different people, which later on, ruined the mans reputation.
Damian does not play with people who touch you. Even if its just platonically, or respectfully. He starts asking you to be more firm with your boundries, and while you take it in a "aw, my boyfriend is so caring", he's in the mindset of "if anyone touches them again, I have to kill them".

31. have you ever said or done something that, in hindsight, might have been hurtful to them? have they ever done the same to you?
obvi haven't done any of the other questions but this one gives me a good reason to recount something serious that happened btwn us earlier in the year that I haven't quite found a reason to bring up yet LOL, I imagine this'll be kind of long but bear with me
back in February, I was in his office & we were talking about a bunch of stuff. he asked me about a theater event I had gone to that weekend & had posted about on Instagram, so we started talking about theater in general since we're both interested in it. he had a flier for the upcoming campus play sitting on his desk, and he asked me if I was going. I said I wanted to, but didn't know where the ticket office was, nor did I have anyone to go with. He said, "Well, would you like to see [the play]?" which was his way of asking me to the play with him. I said yes, so we picked out a day to go, and he said he'd invite his wife and see if she wanted to come along (I was a little sad because it wouldn't be just me and him, but whatever)
I was suuuuuuuuper excited about going to see a play with him, so I told all of my friends and my mom. To my surprise, they all said that it was weird and I shouldn't go. They said that spending time with a professor outside of classes is weird, that going together would look like we were something more than professor/student, and some even said that us following each other on social media was weird enough.
Their words got into my head and I started to freak out about. Was he really trying something? Would it really look like something was going on between us? Would it be better if his wife went along? Should I even go at all? I was legit panicking. I mean, if he was trying something, I wouldn't really care, but if it would've looked like something was happening, I wouldn't want to put his job and our reputations on the line. I didn't want people to think the wrong thing and then have him/us get in trouble.
So........ I told him all of this. I told him the things my family and friends were saying and their concerns with the situation, and I tried to make it clear that I didn't think he was trying anything, but I was concerned with how it might look. He was very nice and understanding of my feelings, and he said, "It's better to talk about it than to wonder." He also suggested a plan to work it out: We'd each buy tickets separately, and since the seats are usually fairly empty, we'd meet up at that night, pretend it was a coincidence we were both there on the same night, then sit together outside of our assigned seats. Honestly maybe kinda sketchy LOL but it made me feel a bit better, though I was still super concerned. At this point, his wife was also planning to come along, so though it wasn't going to be just us, I felt better that we'd have at least one other person there with us.
But also: He said he had invited his wife, and I asked if he was sure it was ok--I had never met his wife before and I wondered if it would be awkward. He said that he'd talk to his wife and ask her if she was ok with me coming along...which meant that he invited his wife to come to the play, but didn't tell her that I'd also be there, which only added to my concerns about the situation. By the time I had the conversation with him about my concerns, he had discussed my being there with his wife, and he said she was ok with it.
ANYWAY, to the actual question in the post, I feel like discussing my concerns about going to the play could've (and maybe did?) hurt his feelings. He assured me that everything was fine: "I'm just trying to encourage you to go to these things as part of my job, and our interests often line up." But the fact that I came to his office all like "yeah my friends and family think something weird is going on and they think it's weird you asked me to the play and I feel kind of worried about it, too" definitely could've been a bit insulting. I texted him later that day just to clarify 100% that I didn't think he was trying anything weird, but that it might look like something was happening and that might be bad. He said that he appreciated me speaking my mind, and we've never talked about it since.
I did end up going to the play with him. Our plan about buying separate tickets was immediately thrown out, though--the next day after that convo, we walked to the ticket office together and he ordered our tickets together, so we couldn't pretend to have coincidentally gone to the same show.
But in the end, it was totally fine. I didn't know a single other person in the audience, so I was less worried about anyone thinking it was weird that we were there together. The only weird part was that I ended up sitting in between him and his wife. We jumped down to our seats from the row behind, and his wife ended up stepping on a seat when jumping down, so she claimed that seat. That left two other seats, and the furthest seat remaining was sitting next to total strangers, and Abelard claimed that seat...meaning the one in the middle was mine. I hesitated and looked in between the two of them, like "Don't you guys want to sit together??" his wife noticed and said I could sit wherever made me most comfortable. I said I didn't care (I kind of did, but whatever).
The play was good and since the seats were so small and close together, abelard and my arms were touching basically the entire time!!!! It was soooooooo nice to have that prolonged contact with him, though I felt a little weird about enjoying it since his wife was sitting right next to me/us....
But yeah, I absolutely cringe thinking back on that whole situation and the fact that I ever actually told him any of my concerns, which were totally unfounded. I said I would never mention it again, but I just feel so bad about it all and I die inside a little every time I think about it.
TLDR: Abelard invited me to see a campus play with him, my friends and family thought this was incredibly weird and I shouldn't go because of how it might look, I told him these concerns and talked about how I was worried it might look weird if we went, he assured me it was ok and we went to the play together (with his wife) in the end
The only hurtful thing he's ever said was when he told me I needed to stop overthinking, which was not helpful to my already overthinking brain LOL so I cried

5. Honestly, I would say if you want to give my Volturi fic a shot without really knowing much about Twilight, I would say give it a go. It takes place literally thousands of years before canon and lives in the space of mostly Volturi headcanon. It's just morally questionable politicking(?) done by someone who is just happy to be here/ is so unreliable as a narrator. My friends tease me that I have decided to write the furthest thing removed from its original material. It would be fascinating to hear thoughts from a reader with 0 knowledge, but I understand just not wanting to because it's not your fandom.
6. Is this specifically the moment that I reveal that her brother kills her or just a general creeping horror? I did intend for both effects, but I remember a lot of people having a moment of oh! at the former.
9. Oh I really want to write more for Season 2! I think the problem with me is that I like me strange book-show hybrid world, but I like knowing what the show has in store so that I can know what I'm working with! I guess that is just the problem with writing for an ongoing series haha! I'd really love to get more into some scheming.
10. Wow! Honestly, I wasn't expecting to have changed anyone's feelings about Aegon! I'm so flattered to hear that! I wish there was a recording of my face watching the HotD episode where we meet older Aegon, because I already knew Elayne was going to have complicated sibling-esque relationship with him, and watching him just be the worse was me being uhhhh, but then it worked out to even more exaggerate my point that sometimes the worst person you know is somehow one of the best people to you specifically(really goes to show how much Elayne's life is unfair and just sucks). Anyway, yeah Aegon being complex
11. One day, maybe. I have this weird writing trait where I have to balance out good things with bad things, but the bad things kept accidentally being overwhelming. Also in terms of DnD stats, Elayne's dump stat is unfortunately constitution and she keeps dying when I put her in scenarios in my head.

I have a question that's potentially delicate? So I'm not gonna put any tags on this bc I do not want discourse hell. It's abt asexuality and sex.
So I've been on The Apps recently (Tinder, Grindr, Lex etc, dating/hookup apps) and have arranged a few meetups/FWBs/hookups etc. TLDR, me going "hey do you want to have sex?" and them going "yeah I'd love to have sex," or vice versa. But then a number of them have also told me they're asexual? And I'm wondering like. Is it rude to ask what that means in this context? Why tell me they're asexual after saying they want to hook up with me, I mean. Bc obvi I wanna be respectful to their identity n everything but I feel like, to me, being respectful to someone who tells me they're asexual would mean not asking to have sex with them, but there have been people who have approached me on these apps and asked me to have sex but then told me they're asexual also. And I don't know what that means in the context of already establishing you want to hook up with me. Like can I ask what that means, or do I just. Go with the flow like any other hookup??? I feel like these ppl are thinking that they're communicating something to me by telling me they're asexual that I am simply not picking up on bc it hasn't been elaborated on beyond "JSYK I'm asexual." Esp bc otherwise I feel I and often they have been p clear about like. Communication vis a vis "this is what I like to do and this is what I don't." Once or twice I'd be like yea ok maybe they just have an identity I don't understand, which is fine, but it's come up like...a bunch of times now. I'm basically asking for a "JSYK I'm asexual, which means for this hookup I _________." Bc otherwise it feels almost like being like "hey JSYK there's things I like and things I don't" which like. Is incredibly vague and unhelpful and I feel needs to be elaborated on.
For the record I felt like I understood the definition of asexual to mean "does not experience sexual attraction" and/or "does not feel the drive to have sex" and/or "does not want to have sex." None of which exactly feel relevant to approaching someone on a hookup app and asking to hook up. It could mean "will only have sex under certain circumstances" I guess, but in that case...what are the circumstances??? Bc no one is elaborating and I'm afraid to ask bc it feels like they think they've communicated their point fully simply by letting me know they're asexual.

Surprisingly I don't thiiink so? For all the hot girl summer breakdowns I do indeed be having and no longer feeling shame over crying it's still actually pretty difficult to move me to tears? If I say certain things or scenes made me cry it's probably not hyperbole it's just me highlighting it cause it was surprising and made me more fond of whatever it was for it, but that said, on my second playthrough I was like okay this is totally gonna get to me about like both the safe ending stuff and the true ending backstory stuff but,, then it didn't, I got all mushy and couldn't speak to my friend right but no tears. so like yeah I need a lot of preexisting investment on a character and surprise at new developments for it to get to me like that usually and it's so close to the last stretch of the game that you can really fully understand his character for it to count so what I'm saying is if he was in another game ever I'd probably definitely have cried

That's such a fun question about him since so much of what we see is an act lmao but like, even with that I still like how easily he seems to convert skin crawling anxiety into am angy energy despite not genuinely wanting to antagonize most people in there, like the character he's putting on is argumentative and very aggressive sounding but he's never like shown to be in any way physically violent when push comes to shove, putting the planned gun stuff aside and also like yeah less of a stretch that he'd have no qualms about hurting Hongou if need be, but even then with like when Door 3 happens for example and he has every reason to follow through when he threatens Junpei he immediately just drops it after Akane's outburst cause it's not his real response to the situation (also she'd be sadder if they fought), also I like how he has some slip ups here and there that like he recovers from pretty instantly but they're still more noticeable than whatever Akane ever has going on for example but okay, allll of that aside my favorite bit is definitely the little we know of him before everything we know he worked really hard to be a good sibling to Akane and was really considerate when taking care of her to the point of keeping up the Santa thing even through the harsh circumstances
6. the moment of theirs that made me the saddest
Good question, difficult question, you were right he's such an upsetting character to think about, uh hardly anything good happens to this guy doesn't it, I'm torn between hearing him over the speaker on the safe ending and well obvi the incinerator thing but also like, not exactly an Aoi moment, but Snake explaining how him and Akane were never reported missing always gets to me a lot too like hhh yeah I could be all day listing every instance that comes to mind couldn't I, hmm. I'll say. It's very especially heartbreaking to get to the part with tiny them in the lifeboat because he's just so damn relieved that whole nightmare is over but we know it's not,,,

Reunion huuuug!!! That was the one I was the closest to actually crying during and like scenes that are like this that are happy and a relief are the ones that most get to me everytime but also honestly I can't think of any other genuinely happy moment we get from him

THERE'S NO REASON FOR US TO BELIEVE HE IS A RUDE JERK WITH ZERO COMPASSION FOR OTHERS OUTSIDE OF THE ACT C'MON PEOPLE HE RAISED ANOTHER KID WHILE GROWING UP HE'D PROBABLY BE A CHRONIC MOM FRIEND UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES AKANE DOESN'T EVEN CURSE Okay but in all seriousness I guess the best way to put it is that I don't like how fandom portrays him as impulsive? Like, that was one of the traits he put on but that out of every other one I can't really see him genuinely being at all, no matter how you stretch it, like I do think he's more emotionally driven than Akane but they both are very much aware of everything they do, the stuff they both pull off are complex and intricate and have not inches of space for mistakes that acting like that on the regular could bring, even if he's being reckless I don't think he'd default to do stuff without thinking y'know he's not like Junpei who jumps no thoughts head empty into any fist fight out of a sense of justice or something I think it'd be out of being too antsy and anxious and needing something to physically happen and thinking okay this won't end well but I'm doing it anyway, like I've even seen people having him snap at Akane at the drop of a hat like?? Because of him feeling guilty no less??? I really don't like interpretations where he's not entirely on board with all the manslaughter too like c'mon people the thing that's weighing on him is not protecting his sister from these people plus the innocents that need to get involved, I think seeing the executives bodies genuinely gets to him but only in like a physiological sense cause he didn't get a preview of how gorey it'd all get but, like that has nothing to do with regretting the actions that lead up to it in any way shape or form, they kind of kidnapped and tortured him and other kids who no one actually cared enough about to get justice for and one of them brutally killed his sister in front of him I really don't think he gives a shit there but also c'mon that doesn't at all mean he doesn't give a shit about any human life other than those guys like c'mon guys some nuance here for him too pls people act like Akane's the only one allowed to have any

It’s just really funny that Kevin has a new song coming out and a small gig tour in a couple of months, and Ben has completely ignored both of them. Kevin barely posted Ben’s album party disaster, and his was the only comment on Ben’s post that Benny ignored. Now he’s got a new song and a few gigs lined up with someone else in late April, so it doesn’t sound like he would be available if Ben was planning anything for Europe if he’s there for reshoots and that S&B convention mess.
Calahan’s also releasing a spoken word album later this year, and has been posting short films from it, which Ben has also ignored. It’s mediocre crap, but it’s still better than Benny’s writing, and you can tell that song Stolen Time the other poster was talking about them both working on was mostly Calahan.
And other mutual friends of theirs have commented on both, so it says a lot that Ben hasn’t acknowledged any of it. I wonder how often people just get tired of him. Forget partner, he doesn’t even sound like this wonderful friend he claims he is either.
See despite them calling each other friends or whatever glue to life Benny's smart mind came up with, I do think Kevin still is/was boy's employee as much. And I doubt he can make a living off of Benny cuz as we know Benny likes to cash on freebies, is extremely cheap and has no real job.
THO! This brings me to 2021 when he first released the music. He was very obviously trynna cash lotsa favors then and he was getting friendly (or more like look at us we are besties) with Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. Remember that premiere where he looked like he got lost and showed up there by accident lol?
So back then me and a few muffins brought back some more instances of Benny being a climber. Majority was obviously based on his social media activities and whatnots but the conclusion was that he was 'friends' with whoever could take him higher or offer him something. When he was done, the friendsy vibes were gone in an instant.
And many muffins were like - ye gotta ease on them shrooms cuz this is getting ridiculous Coral. Which I get, skepticism is good. Honestly I actually can see it being half assed back then from where Imma currently.
THO LO AND BEHOLD! It is happening again, clear as day. I'd say no surprise here lol
And lemme add. He is either friendly with people who he works with but their friendship works to his advantage mostly (see gymbros, breddy, bessie), he is 'friends' with people who are professionals who he actually employs (see kevin, and that piano guy I wanna say Charlie??), and finally among these two groups he is friends with people who are younger than him, or I would even add some of them are significantly younger than him.
And then ye know, his old friends, who he never can be seen with or he looks like deer in them highlights lol ye know the old crowd. The original lion face lady, or Jules herself. OH or the latest exhibit. He hid Zelda so well that a while back a nonnie send me an ask asking who is that girlie with him. And it was Zelda lol
Oh and obvi then there's the cool cali kids club that he wanna be a part off. But that's like another can of worms lol
TL;DR yeah he is a bad friend and he is being a good one when he needs something. Just another one into the how Benny really is like portfolio.

Could you give a big general description of what your AU is about? I've only been able to catch some tidbits of it (feel free to give as many details as you want though, I love reading about people's stories/headcanons!!)
i can do my best yea!!! :D
to kick things off, i would recommend checking the masterpost, which will be pinned on my blog! particularly, infinite’s backstory essay. already 12k words of free content right there, and good for establishing context!! more things will also be added over time, such as updated references, so i recommend checking back now and then if you’re interested!
given the length of the essay though, for you or anyone else who may not want to read through it, the main details you ought to know are as follows;
– the au is fully canon compliant to the prequel comics, the main game, and the episode shadow dlc minus one detail;
– that detail is that shadow did not kill the jackal squad, however, until after the war is over, infinite believes he did due to eggman being a massive [redacted]
– yes, they are still alive, but who can say where... if you were wondering :)
– this is all only partially idw compliant as it's an ongoing series obvi, and diverges around when starline has been kicked from the empire
essentially, i guess it’s about... okay. so. infinite and starline are very parallel characters in my opinion; they both crave recognition, acknowledgement, and will chase that desire for these things to very dangerous lengths. they both feel they must prove something, to either others or themselves. i'd say its considerably more noticeable in infinite, and my personal belief regarding him is that he ties in his worth with his strength – i mean, that’s practically canon, it's not really subtext.
i feel it’s something sorta like... if people fear them, to be perceived as a bad person, a threat, they're still being perceived. if people are scared of them, that means they're worth noticing, their lives have some kind of impact – even if it's negative. we don't know as much about starline, you could definitely say these themes went a lot harder with infinite, but they're like... i do think they're there. i saw similarities in their thought patterns, and i really, really wanted to explore these similarities!
while infinite is kind of manipulated into the empire to a degree, starline is far more enthusiastic, but ultimately... the interesting thing is, they end up in pretty much the same place. discarded.
infinite, post forces, has been trapped in nullspace, for... roughly a month. my calculations could be a bit off, i really did try to keep track of the loose passage of time in the comics, but. yeah! take this estimate with a grain of salt!! he can't get himself back out again, as the phantom ruby is totally janked up. if you check out my side document on the ruby, there’s more info on that! an abbreviated version – he overused it, and an off-balance ruby is a dangerous ruby, hence his struggle to maintain a physical form. you can’t just recreate the entire sun without paying a uh... significant toll.
his experience there is definitely not pleasant, with nothing to do but contemplate his failures and faults. it’s also disconcerting, as time there is absent. he has no idea how long he’s been there. hours? days? weeks? or years? and what if he never gets out – is this his punishment, he wonders? condemned to an eternity alone, floating in an empty void? not even capable using the ruby to create the illusion of company? unable to die?
but finally, then, then comes a glimmer of hope, with the appearance of a strange new gem. the warp topaz. in the present day/real world, as we knw from the comics, it had just been cast away to an unknown location. don’t ask me the specifics on how this works, but, like, listen, it’s magic, and that thing has gotta be somewhere!! anyway. while escape isn’t possible with the drained phantom ruby alone, when he combines both gems, he’s able to warp time and space and free himself, though it’s not a painless endeavour.
finally, he is back in the real world. he identifies his location as mystic jungle, where it all began – the irony isn’t lost on him. as he is very disoriented, unsure of how long he’s been absent, he decides he ought to, naturally, get a grasp on that. he could also do with having shelter, as unless it’s been many years – which is plausible, but he would prefer not to entertain the concept – then he will want to stay away from any watchful eyes and lay low.
the two gems are also now unresponsive, most likely a result of the massive reaction between them. he should figure out what this other one is, he thinks, once the basics are covered. he’s significantly weaker following these events; first the drained ruby, then the massive energy reaction of using both it and the topaz, combined with the fact that, while he can survive for quite some time without sustenance, he hasn’t eaten in a long time. being part organic, part robotic, and involved in a symbiotic, parasitic relationship with the ruby, it all gets kind of complicated for him. he needs food and water and rest still, however, it’s more infrequent. after a week or two is when the side effects begin displaying themselves. anywho!
infinite also briefly wonders what his long-term plan is, now, following his defeat, finding he isn’t sure. he doesn't know what he wants anymore, feeling purposeless. he can’t dwell on it.
he heads for the abandoned laboratory.
it is there, however, that he finally ends up learning of eggman's lies to him. when he turns on the power to boot up the computers, he is able to determine the date... and then he decides to go through some of the files. his attention is caught by a folder simply titled “infinite.” within it are details about him, an unnerving amount of things, audio and text logs of various experiments, and... a recording from january 11th. two months before the war began. the night his squad – his family – had been killed.
he draws a deep breath in when he clicks it.
eggman’s gleeful cackle fills the room, and he swears he feels something deep within him twist. the man happily details the success of his plan to frame shadow for murder, to set infinite up, and in that moment, everything changes.
for better or for worse?
they’re alive. or – were? what had happened since? what if eggman killed them later? what if they got away and then – then... died because of – he feels sick. because of the war. because of him. the war he started because he thought they were already dead.
dread, relief, anger. mixed emotions pull him all directions, but as he sits there, letting it all sink in, one is strongest; the one that’s always strongest.
eggman. the doctor used him, manipulated him. turned him into a pawn, and infinite, gods, he had let him, guided by grief and a very similar fury to the one he’s feeling right now. he gave up his body, endured test after test, tore the whole fucking world down, and why, for what? everything he had done, he did for a lie. the torment he caused, the destruction... becoming a weapon. he had become everything he despised.
but he knows now. he has the truth, now. and he has his new purpose. it won’t be like last time, no. infinite is informed, and this is between solely him and the doctor. eggman is right in his crosshairs, and he’s itching to fire.
first, however, he has to find him.
so, he checks the eggnet pings. he sets out, chases some rumors, dead end leads. then, he gets a name. starline. from all the intel infinite can gather, he was working with eggman during the time he himself was gone, and he had missed... quite a bit. it isn't clear if they are still in alliance, but either way, the platypus may know something, so infinite decides to divert attention to searching for him, instead.
he finds him.
he's quick to learn starline is no longer with the empire, another lackey tossed aside, though the man claims even if he knew anything, he wouldn't tell infinite anyway.
"you would show that much loyalty to a man who cast you aside in a blink?" infinite asks, and starline is quiet. "you owe him nothing. even if he takes you back, you will never know security. one mishap, one wrong remark, and you’ll be back here again, squirming around like a maggot in the wreckage. if you have studied him this long, you ought to be aware of the patterns."
"i was–"
"different?"
the silence is confirmation in and of itself.
infinite snorts softly. "don't go fooling yourself."
"then why did you?" starline bites, gritting his teeth. "why did you align yourself with him? you're acting like you're so smart, but need i remind you, here we both are."
infinite's gaze is icy, unwavering. "that's my business. but i was not planning to remain complacent. our agreement was built upon deception. he withheld information, and intended to betray me. i planned to do the same. subservience is not my style. was it yours?"
starline glares back, equally frigid. his fingers curl, clenching into fists, but he says nothing.
“if i were you, i would not allow myself to be limited by merely trailing along after another.”
“i don’t recall asking for your advice, dog.” the doctor sneers.
infinite hums. “i suppose. we’re done here, then. do whatever you want,” he waves a hand dismissively, turning to take his leave, “it’s your choice.”
he gets only a few paces away before starline suddenly calls out, halting him in his tracks.
"wait," he says, "i believe you have something that belongs to me."
infinite twists to look over his shoulder, unblinking. "we are through talking."
"the warp topaz. return it."
"why the hell would i? i don't know you, and you've been nothing but a pain in my ass.” infinite replies coolly. “who are you to make demands of me?"
"i have spent a very long time studying it. it’s incredibly valuable research."
"yeah, well, good for you. there's nothing in this for me," infinite’s tail flicks in irritation and adjusts his mask, "i do not care for a one-sided transaction." he pauses. "...although if you were to change your mind about eggman, perhaps we could negotiate."
starline makes a low, frustrated chittering sound. infinite waits, despite the strong desire to put this entire interaction behind him.
finally, the platypus pinches his bill and sighs.
"...i truly do not know anything."
"i see."
infinite observes him; his posture, tone. he doesn't appear to be lying.
"that's unfortunate."
he doesn't reply. he seems conflicted.
infinite is about to give up and head off once more, only for starline to finally say,
"i could come with you."
"excuse me?"
"i have a proposition. you have something i want, and although i can not advise you in regards to doctor eggman, i may be able to assist you in a different fashion. have you somewhere to stay?"
infinite frowns. "you're desperate."
"what about the phantom ruby?”
“...excuse me?”
starline adjusts his glasses, then states, more calmly, “you aren’t using it, despite the fact it would benefit you to do so – such as when you tackled me back there. i almost got away, but you didn’t simply trap me with your illusions because you couldn’t,” infinite grinds his teeth as he smiles, smug, “am i incorrect? you’re also playing things rather cautious. and if the topaz – my topaz – was functioning to standard, you would have simply warped away, just now.”
“that is none of your concern.”
“but you don’t know how to fix it, do you? i, however, have enough resources available that i could analyse both gems, identify the problem, and potentially remedy it.”
“you think i'm so stupid as to risk trusting you?”
“i think you’re smart enough to understand that i'm your best bet.”
infinite finds himself truly consider it, much to his annoyance. as if sensing that he’s swaying him, starline continues,
“you can't keep hiding out in old labs forever, you don’t have any equipment, and you surely want to have access to your former abilities again. and without them, what do you truly have to lose right now?”
my sanity, he thinks sarcastically, though i guess i've already lost that if i'm thinking about partnering up with him.
“i assume you’ll be wanting the topaz back?”
starline smiles again.
“it’s a fair price, is it not? a more secure place of shelter, and your phantom ruby restored.”
after a long moment, infinite sighs.
“...where’s your base of operations?”
so... they strike a deal!! a very grouchy alliance is formed!! this is a spontaneous, loosely written interaction, but. that’s the gist!
the plot is, i guess, predominantly about mutual healing. see, they're so alike, and first, a lot of their dislike for one another is, at it's core, due to the fact that... they see their faults and failures reflected in the other person; their presences are a constant reminder to one another of everything they don't like in themselves.
the thing is, as time passes and they come to care for one another, that in turn also teaches them to show that same compassion and, eventually, love, for themselves. like, recognition and acceptance of the self through the other. growing, recovering, how our relationships with others can affect our relationships with ourselves, that's the story at it's core!
infinite does almost succeed in his mission, which is definitely a climax in his character arc, but from there, he slowly mellows out. for the most part, we just have a couple of losers (affectionate) hiding out and trying to figure themselves out. their “redemption arc” is more complex than like, they become totally Good though. like, they heal and grow into better people, but i want to acknowledge the fact they both still have bastard energy. their characters i think would still be in the grey zone, and i don’t want to really, bend them waaaay out of their shape to fit something else to the point they’re more like ocs. so while not pure evil, they’re more like... demoted to cartoonish villains. domesticated. they’re bad but not like........ BAD?? they don’t really take sides and are basically just allied with each other, though will if circumstances really call for it, similar to how eggman will work with sonic sometimes.
think less “wanna destroy the entire planet together?” and more “hey, wanna go break into that warehouse? i know you wanted parts for your latest invention <3″ lmao. infinite does help out with rebuilding sometimes, though, as he does feel guilty regarding everything, and it seems only right. starline tags along because, package deal. two for one on war criminals. do not separate them.

basics
1. describe your oc’s facial features and hair
Wyn: a very, like, square face, with a firm jaw and high cheekbones. Long ears, of course, because goblin. her mouth kind of naturally pulls down and she tends to furrow her eyebrows, so she's got resting cranky face. her eyes are yellowish-gold, her skin is dark green, and she's got black hair that only goes to about the middle of her neck (its straight and she always just brushes it back, never really does anything with it). oh, she also has- what are they called? beauty marks? moles? she's got quite a few of those, one on her chin, one on her nose, and a couple next to her eyes.
Flint: oh Flint. she looks Tired. bags under the eyes. a fairly pronounced kinda round nose. long pointy ears! she's got medium brown skin and is also pretty square jawed, but the rest of her face is more full. it would look soft if she ever really smiled. her resting expression is neutral. she's also got brown hair, one side of her head is fully shaved, and the other side goes to about her chin. she also tends to be a bit grimy, always has dirt or something smeared on her somewhere. her eyes are also brown and they are, to my mind, kind of intense.
2. what’s their height and body type?
Wyn: oh gods wait no i know i wrote this down somewhere i cannot find it tho so from memory i think she's, like, 4' something? on the shorter side, obvi. as for her body type, well, she's got some muscle definition and is kind of broad. you would think she'd hafta be thicker to be a paladin, but since she didn't want to be a paladin she never actually did any of the training and is therefore not as muscled up as she's supposed to be
Flint: i never chose a canon height for Flint, but tall. 6' something. because i like to imagine what being tall is like. they are skinny, too, like almost too skinny. surprisingly good dexterity, though, so they've got a little bit of muscle control just No Fat.
3. any notable features, piercings, or scars?
Wyn: she's got a burn scar that covers her cheek on the right side of her face. also, she was born with only one arm! and she does have some piercings, but it was mostly done because her best friend wanted to practice ear piercing and Wyn has a lot of ear real estate to be used
Flint: she has a scar on her cheek, looks like its from maybe a slash wound or something. she's also got a myriad of smaller scars scattered on her arms and chest, and a few on her legs, but none that are big or even particularly noticeable. she also has a lot of piercings and takes pretty good care of them since they cost a lot of money over the years.
4. how old is your oc? do they look their age or do they look older or younger?
Wyn: this is. a complicated question. she is technically 13 (goblins are adults at like age 9 i think?). she is also technically 60-something (because of things that happened while she was away). she looks older than 13 and younger than 60 so. yes and no?
Flint: 24! i definitely am not projecting onto her, shut up! i'd say she probably looks a bit older, just because of the constantly tired thing aging her up.
5. what is their voice like?
Wyn: high and scratchy, baby! why would you play a goblin if not to have an excuse to make your voice nasally as fuck?
Flint: low, and a bit rough. she's spent a decent amount of time training herself out of an accent, so their voice is a choice.
6. what is their resting face?
Wyn: oh i answered this for them already. well, Wyn has resting cranky face!
Flint: and Flint has resting Neutral Expression. people will be like "...are you okay?" and she'll be like yeah i'm fine :|
7. what do they look like when happy?
Wyn: you know when someone clearly desperately wants to smile and is fighting it so you can see the happiness on their face and also they have to keep, like, pushing their mouth into a frown? that.
Flint: their face doesn't change much, it's kind of just a slight pulling up of the lips. and they'll probably look away and instinctively try to hide their expression.
a. when sad?
Wyn: big, wide eyes full of tears. lips pressed together to try and stop the emotions from coming out.
Flint: full shutdown mode, baby! absolutely stoic because if you refuse to feel the feeling, you can't express it!
b. when angry?
Wyn: full on snarl, baring those teeth, entire face scrunched up and ready to bite.

8. what would people consider the most attractive or compelling about their appearance?
Wyn: this is. a hard question for me to answer for any character. uh. i think her eyes, maybe? they're very bright. and probably if 'compelling' means 'noticeable', the burn scar is very prominent.
Flint: i mean what i consider most attractive about her is the half shaved head and the piercings, but that's a matter of taste.

9. what’s their posture like?
Wyn: very good and proper! no slouching, shoulders back, one hand typically resting on her hammer. she was raised in a temple with very strict, like, rules and a lot of emphasis on presentability and praying the right way, so you had to be very stiff and straight and she's just so used to it that it's her default
Flint: not good! slouchy. she tends to try and, like, minimize herself, so she's always kind of leaning and hunching her shoulders up. she prefers to be the 'lurks in the background' type, so she's gotta go ahead and look like a proper lurker.
10. idle stance?
Wyn: straight back, one hand on the hilt of her hammer, the other behind her back, feet together. almost military-esque.
Flint: if you could look like you're trying to hide without actually literally hiding, that. slouched, head down, shoulders up, very tense.
11. how do they move in public?
Wyn: if we're talking, like, a city or crowds or something like that, she tends to... scuttle? she wears a hood and keeps just behind her party members and generally tries to avoid notice, because people tend not to like just seeing goblins out and about
Flint: as casual as possible. you know that thing where it's like, if you want to get in somewhere, act like you belong? kinda like that. she also doesn't want to be noticed, but knows the best way to do that is to just blend in with the crowd rather than try and sneak, so she just mirrors what's around them.
12. what are their common gestures or physical tics?
Wyn: she runs a hand through her hair a lot, and reaches into her pocket to fiddle with her holy symbol (a glass orb with images of many different types of eyes inside it). now that she has a prosthetic arm, she'll often just kind of fidget with the fingers of it and stuff.
Flint: she very specifically trained herself out of most physical tics and things like that. the most common thing she does is pat people on the shoulder (usually to give them Guidance) and occasionally she'll rub at the shaved side of her head, but for the most part she keeps casual movements to a minimum.
13. how do they carry themselves when they’re upset?
Wyn: very stiffly, with a lot of jerky movements. a lot of tension, but still with that good posture ingrained in her, so its just like the moment right before the pounce but always right before
Flint: does their best to blend into the background even more! silent, head down, avoiding eye contact and always making sure to be at the back of the group
14. can they use their physical appearance to mask their emotions? if so how
Wyn: i think for Wyn its more like... most people don't know how to read goblins, and since her resting face tends towards cranky, people just read her as Always Angry and she doesn't correct them
Flint: she has spent years making sure that none of her emotions show in her face or body language unless she very specifically wants them to, so its almost second nature by now for them to just relax into neutral pose/expression no matter how they're feeling inside
15. are they coordinated?
Wyn: sort of, in the way that you kinda have to be if you're throwing a hammer at things and want to hit. when it comes to stuff like sports she's not particularly good though.
Flint: decently so! but its not a specialty or anything, she's just kinda like that.
16. how flexible are they?
Wyn: not very, she spends too much time in heavy armor and wielding a very heavy hammer to be worried about flexibility.
Flint: surprisingly so! she's got a pretty good dex.
17. can they dance?
Wyn: not at all and she does not want to
Flint: yes, but she almost certainly never would and will definitely never tell you where she learned
describe your oc’s outfit
18. basic look
Wyn: armor! heavy plate, baby. i still haven't decided how it looks, but her last armor was blue with eye motifs so probably that again. underneath the armor is plain brown pants and a grey shirt. both have seen better days, but they're still functional and that's what counts.
Flint: a loosely laced up... blouse? i don't know the right word for it, but it's the pirate shirt with the laces on the front. and the front laces are loosely laced. typically in blue or purple. a binder underneath, brown or black, and breeches. she also has a silver ring that she never takes off, and a wooden orb on a cord around her neck. the orb has a clasp, and on the inside of it is a star map!
19. date look
Wyn: realistically, almost exactly the same outfit. she would not change clothes and wouldn't understand why she had to. but if told to make changes, i think like a polo shirt and some clean pants. the shirt would probably be yellow, she has a fondness for yellow.
Flint: imagining her on a date is mostly just amusing to me, honestly. probably, like, a nice flannel in the bi pride colors, and whatever the fantasy equivalent of jeans are.
20. formal wear
Wyn: gods. yet again. she would just wear her armor. that's formal, right? i do think also, realistically, if someone got her like Formal Armor she would wear it to a formal event. if forced to change, i think she'd look cute as hell in a little grey suit.
Flint: a silvery-white dress shirt and black slacks, and boots. she will put in absolutely no more effort and does not want to stand out.
21. cold weather outfit
Wyn: i'm imagining her bundled up in a fur lined parka! and definitely with mittens on, and those work boots with the really grippy bottoms.
Flint: long sleeved shirt, maybe a knitted sweater on top, still in fairly neutral blues and purples. and sturdy boots!
22. hot weather outfit
Wyn: a plain old t-shirt and some basketball shorts. i've gone full modern now, but fuck it i like it. she also wears flip flops because i think that's delightful
Flint: closed-toe sandals, a light button-up, and maybe capris? i think they'd rock some capris
23. beach look
Wyn: she's definitely like a sporty two-piece type of gal.
Flint: they do not take off their shirt for Plot Reasons, so swim trunks and a t-shirt.
24. pajamas
Wyn: an old, oversized t-shirt and ratty old pajama pants that are very pink and an old gift that she shan't throw away
Flint: whatever shirt they were wearing that day, and some comfy sweatpants
25. fantasy/modern au (swap or an au of choice)
Wyn: modern day Wyn would probably be in a lot of t-shirts and sturdy, work jeans. like the kinds construction workers wear. and also the boots that construction workers wear, those too. she likes things that are sturdy and comfy and last a long ass time. i think she'd probably dress in a lot of brighter colors in a modern au, though not too much. more of a not caring about the colors more than the feel type of vibe.
Flint: a lot of button-ups, baby! i also think she'd rock some hawaiian shirts for sure. and she'd prefer leggings or riding pants. they would still be in a purple/blue color pallet, but maybe also branch out a bit, especially for the hawaiian shirts. those can get real raucous real fast.
26. halloween costume
Wyn: this answer is going to be solely based on what i think would be cute, so i think Wyn would dress up as a raccoon. Wyn herself would probably like to dress up as a sheep. she likes sheep.
Flint: similarly, i think Flint dressing up as a fairy princess would be incredible. she'd fuckin' hate it. if she had to choose a costume, she would either go incredibly boring and be a pirate (because she is literally already a pirate so she's got all the supplies) or maybe as a character from some in-game myths we've been told that she's enjoyed

Chapter 3: The Plot Thickens
*Warning spoilers if you haven't gotten through 6/13 in the game*
A/N-Before the chapter starts, I want to explain a couple things. First, I chose to make Kaito a witch because I identify myself as a witch, and yes, I do mean witch, not warlock, because witch is, in fact, a gender-neutral term, also due to me being a witch, everything Kito does involved with witchcraft will be based off my own experiences, knowledge, religion and opinions, so please don't tell me I'm wrong unless you can cite a reliable source for your info. Second, for those reading this, who don't know Japanese culture very well, calling someone by their first name without an honorific (-san, -kun, -chan, ect.) unless you know them very well, or they've given you permission, is highly offensive. Please remember these for future chapters :) .

Monday, June 13th, After School
*Akechi's P.O.V*
I was listening to the audio data from the pen I downloaded to my phone on the way from the station to work. I was quite happy to see that it hadn't been accidentally turned off throughout the day, despite the likelihood for it to have. I was actually skipping past a bit that seemed to be a personal conversation between her and her friends, though I seemed to be the topic of their talk. If it weren't for my current opinion of Yuno, I might've even blushed at the direction the discussion was going, however, I was disgusted and just trying to get past it.
"Finally." I sigh, getting past it, not surprised that it took up all of lunch. Listening as she head's to pe. "Hmm, who should I ask for help on my homework today?" She either wonders aloud or asks her friends, judging by the steps I heard around her. Her friends offered up names. I quickly realized all the names were all from the top 10 students in the first and second years, 'but most of those kids would never-oh, yeah, blackmail' I think, my gritting my teeth. 'Wait, thinking about it, not even Kaito-kun would've taken this lying down, so what's she got on him that he doesn't want me to know?' I knew it as a little self-centered to think I'm the only one who mattered, but it Kaito had in fact told me that my opinion was the only one that mattered to him, and the teachers would never believe any bad rumors about him since he was the star student of nearly every class he was in. He also never cared what any of the students around him thought of him, except, after we became friends, for me. In fact, a couple months after we became friends and before I knew he considered himself a witch by his religion, a kid that that seemed to a rather bad opinion of Kaito-kun and said something about my friend cursing him or something like that. Kaito-kun seemed to not have even heard him, but then froze quickly looked to me, fear flashing through his eye like lightning before he hid it. I realized later he’d been worried about my reaction and trying to hide it. I'd ended up asking if he'd cursed our fellow student, and he'd replied he never cursed anyone, I'd then asked why out of curiosity, and he'd told me it was because cause he was selfish, and since he believed in karma, he didn't want the negative energy of a curse coming back to bite him later.
I felt an earbud pulling me out of my ear, snapping me out of my small trip down memory lane. "Oh don't worry, I've got something special planned for-" I heard through the other earbud as I paused the recording, knowing I'd have to relisten to it later after, hearing an annoyed sigh next to me that I knew belonged to Sae-san.
"Oh, sorry Sae-san. I got lost in thought it seems." I say with a practiced sheepish smile, pulling out the other earbud.
"I hope you know you were so lost in thought you nearly walked into the door." She smirks teasingly. "Maybe you should keep the music for your work-outs only."
"Guess so." I chuckle, remembering the few hours of music Kaito-kun had given for my birthday as well, that I'd put on my phone and started listening to during my early morning runs, and noticing I’d been only a couple steps from walking into the door.
"Well, let's go in then, we've got cases to get to." She smiles.
"Indeed." I smile, opening the door for her.
"Always the gentleman, thank you." She sighs with a smile, walking in.
"Of course, you're welcome." I smile, following in after.

Deciding not to listen to the recording until I got to my apartment, considering how I nearly walked into a door the last time I listened to it on my way somewhere. I was heading back to my apartment in the evening light, hoping Kaito-kun had actually taken the advice of my pre-scheduled messages telling him to go to bed…. even if I wasn't following my own advice. I smile, remembering where my mind had wandered before Niijima-san, and how it had ended. My mind started to drift back down memory lane, remembering how after he'd explained why he didn't curse people, he told me he'd actually reported the student for harassing a female classmate. He ran off to the bathroom after telling me that and it took a little while, however, over the next three days the problem student kept having the worst luck. One of the biggest scenes that spread around the school like wildfire, was the when girl he'd been harassing, who was actually quite sweet and quiet for the most part, slapping him across the face before admitting he'd been harassing her, causing him to get suspended. When he came back, he ran towards Kaito-kun and I at lunch, nearly falling on his face in the process, and yelled about Kaito-kun cursing him again, my friend seemed completely surprised and a little lost. Though after he left a sly smirk pulled at Kaito-kun's lips.
"I don't curse people, but I can enhance one's karma." He smirked under his breath, causing me to look at him questioningly.
"So, you had something to do with this?" I asked, though not quite believing he could.
"I'd like to think so. I mean, I did use a spell to make all he's done come back to him three times three." He smirked, snapping his fingers while saying the last word, the problem student tripping over his own feet and falling at the same time, causing his smirk to grow. "I was gonna leave it at the report and try helping the girl, but...he just kept pushing." He sighs.
I learned two things that day; 1: don't piss off the witch; 2: Kaito-kun wasn't all rainbows and shy smiles like I'd seen till that point and I'd even started putting a little more stock in mysticism and such. "I could report you." I smirked, mostly curious to see how he'd react, though not quite sure how that'd go. His reaction surprised me, his face fell slightly, though he tried to hide it as he looked down to his food and started playing with it rather than actually eating it. I'd expected him to just laugh it off, as he did with most things.
"I'd like to see how that goes down, with your rep, it might actually go a bit differently than the 20 or so other accusations." He smirked, though his voice was a little harsh.
"I-I said could, not would." I quickly stated, trying to back peddle out of this point in the conversation.
He’d pinched the bridge of his nose with an annoyed sigh. "Sorry, I'm overreacting, but you wouldn't be the first to report if chose to." He murmured.
"That's a bit obvi-"
"I meant the first I considered a friend to do so." He specifies with a sigh, making me freeze, realizing what the statement meant, 'he's...used to being betrayed, so when the possibility of it happening comes up, he immediately goes on the defensive'

I went straight to my computer after locking my door, hooking my phone up to it so I could better analyze and actually edit the recording so I could only keep what was actually important and discard what wasn't, 'like the first disgusting 30 minutes' I think, deleting that time from the file. Starting back at the beginning of Yuno's talk with her friends. "Hmm, who should I ask for help on my homework today?" I knew whoever she asked for help, probably didn't have an actual choice They talked for a few minutes, before settling on a female student who was 2nd place to Kaito-kun in his class, however one of the other friends piped up. "What about Kaito?" I froze, my worries confirmed that he was a target. I could feel my jaw tighten at the insult of them using his first name, especially without an honorific. "Oh don't worry, I've got something special planned for Kaito today." Yuno giggles, the rest joining her. My hand starts curling into a fist 'what the hell did you do?!' I mentally growl before skipping past, and deleting most the silence of the pe class until I heard Yuno talking to the girl she chose for helping with her homework. Judging by the girl's voice, I was right in assuming her victims at least don't feel like they had a choice in helping her. While she was heading to her next her next class, she told her friends about taping notes to Kaito-kun's locker 'so that's why he seemed a little off after school' I think, feeling the leather strain around my fist. Skipping past and deleting her silent work, stopping when I heard them starting on the notes for his locker, saying what they wrote mostly stupid shit, that had me grinding my teeth and wanting to punch them like 'fag', 'looser', 'freak', then I barely stopped my fist from hitting the desk with the last one, "you're lucky we're not dealing with Salem trails stupid witch". Forcing my hand to relax as I buried my head in my hands, knowing if I hadn't been wearing my gloves, my fingernails would be digging into my scalp right now as they continued.
"If that bitch used my pen to write that." I hissed, ending with a growl that many might've described as murderous as I continued listening, not even wanting to think about what else they might’ve done to him.
"Why not just go ahead and tape a picture of a vase of flowers to his locker Yuno-chan?" One of the friends snickered. "I can't do that, Kaito might freeze long enough for Goro-kun to see, or he might actually tell." Yuno giggled.
*SLAM* my hand hits the desk hard enough I might have actually bruised it hearing that. "Do. Not. Use. My. First. Name." I growled, wishing she could hear venom dripping from every word, wishing I could throttle both of them for that considering doing something like that was a way of telling someone to kill themselves.
"Why didn't you use his pen?" One of the friends smirk, causing me to sigh in relief. "Cause if he manages to find out, he'll never forgive me." Yuno sighs.
'Oh-ho-ho, we're way past no forgiveness bitch' I think with a dark chuckle, getting the last bit of evidence and wishing I had a punching bag in my apartment, as I get up and head to the bath to try and calm myself down enough to go to sleep.
*Akira's P.O.V*
I had just got back to Lablanc after talking with everyone at the dinner, Makoto-san, third-year, and the student council president had figured out who the phantom thieves were.
"You're back-whoa, you look tired. Long day?" Sojiro-san asks from behind the counter.
'You have no idea' I think with a sigh, nodding my head to my caretaker while I was on probation. "Your day any better?" I ask, deciding to strike up some conversation.
"If slow is better, then yes." He says with a slight smirk.
"Heh, well then, guess I'll head up." I say, not having much else I could say to him.
"Actually..." Sijiro perks up slightly. "Do any students from Aoyama use the station as you?"
"Uh, yeah, Akechi Goro, we actually talked a little this morning too." I say, though figuring that wasn't who he was wondering about.
"No one else?" He asks, trying to seem disinterested...and failing.
I thought for a moment, before remembering the smaller boy that ran over to Akechi-senpai. "Yeah, actually, a boy, around my age, but a bit shorter." I answer, I definitely had Sojiro-san's attention, even if he was trying to hide it. "Akechi-senpai introduced him...Sasaki, Sasaki..." I trailed off, trying to remember his first name.
"Sasaki Kaito, he's short and rather shy?" Sojiro-san offers.
