Hi lovely, could you please write a little something about robbe and sander being friends and going on a trip with the gang and having to share a bed?

It was a terrible mistake to come on this trip during winter, Robbe thinks for the hundredth time since they all got here this morning. The house is old, and it's clearly a month away from being completely abandoned by Jens’ family. He looks at the old walls in the dark room and imagines how the insulation is old, dusty, and completely inefficient after so many decades of use in wet weather such as this, a few meters away from the beach.

No number of heavy comforters and blankets can make this a comfortable night of sleep. He can feel Sander's warmth helping a little bit but he's still shaking uncontrollably. The extra layers of clothes weren't as helpful as they should, so Robbe got rid of his hoodie before Sander fell asleep because he didn’t want to bother his sleep doing it later. Nobody else seems to be struggling as much as he is. He can hear a bunch of heavy breaths, some snoring but no rustling of sleeping bags or shivers from the cold.

“Stop moving...” He jumps as he hears Sander's voice, a little breeze of freezing air swirling around him as Sander turns to lie on his back, his shoulder over Robbe´s.

Sander puts his other arm over his eyes, and his hand gently reaches Robbe´s hair, and he starts gently playing with his curls, probably trying to help Robbe relax and fall asleep and consequently stop moving and making them both freeze even more.

“Sorry,” Robbe whispers, closing his eyes and trying to keep them that way.

“I can go check for more blankets if you want…”

Robbe shakes his head, feeling another hard wave of shivers that he manages to control by turning his body a little bit, a second away from putting his leg over Sander´s to strap them together. His self-consciousness can't help but ring every alarm with his movement but he tries to argue it was better than to shake uncontrollably, making Sander even more annoyed to be sharing a bed with Robbe.

They have known each other for a very long time. Sander is closer to Zöe, Robbe's big sister and it feels wrong to be so…close and in a (probably) too intimate of a position with someone who's constantly pointed as his sister’s possible future boyfriend and husband.

But, in the safety and privacy of his own thoughts, Robbe has dreamed about this guy for so long. It doesn't help that he is kind, very affectionate, very liberal, with his modern way of thinking about every subject, the most beautiful human Robbe has ever seen, not bothered to share a twin bed with him, hidden beneath layers and layers of heavy blankets. Robbe opens his eyes, trying to keep himself under control from where his brain was going. He pulls the first layer of comforter on them and covers their head completely. Sander doesn't flinch or ask anything about it, he just keeps playing with Robbe’s hair once he settles down again.

Now he can´t concentrate on relaxing and falling asleep, obviously. So, he takes advantage of being in the complete dark to stare at where he assumes Sander’s head is, his profile, with his lean arm over his eyes.

He starts to think of how life is made of countless now moments. He´ll never be under these blankets, sharing a bed with the man of his dreams, with nobody watching or knowing how close they are, how Sander is absently playing with his hair, how they could be holding hands if they wanted to because Sander’s arm is on top of Robbe´s, helping him keep his warm but also from shivering even harder.

Robbe gently holds the hand that was in his hair and puts it down on Sander´s chest. He feels Sander lifting his head a little bit, facing him.

“What?”

It´s funny how upset he sounds from being prevented from touching Robbe´s hair. Before Sander can complain again or Robbe can change his mind, he moves his head and presses their lips together. It´s likely just a second but it feels like a lifetime, and before Robbe can regret his impulse, he feels a gentle hand on his cheek, holding them in that position.

Instantly, he feels his body warm up, buzzing with excitement, and he snuggles even closer, just still pressing their lips together until they stop, resting their forehead against each other while they both adjust their positions, lying on their sides, pressing their lips together again. Sander is the one to deepen the kiss, his hand on the small of Robbe´s back, pressing their whole bodies together.

They kiss for a long time, until Robbe´s body is completely warm, feels like it's melting even. He holds Sander´s face, feeling his hair getting long enough to start covering his ears. Robbe hears himself let a moan slip in between kisses, and he feels his whole face get red as he feels Sander smiling. He lies his head back down on his pillow, realizing he can’t apologize if he wants to pretend that stupid sound didn’t come out of his mouth.

“Was that more helpful than me playing with your hair?”

Robbe laughs shyly, needing to push the blankets down to uncover his face to breathe fresh air. Sander follows a second later. He can feel he´s being watched, and Robbe starts to regret kissing Sander, thinking he went too fast and clearly didn’t leave much room for a single responsible thought. He doesn’t regret it but he´s afraid his dumb actions can have bigger consequences.

“You ok?”Sander whispers.

“Yeah…Like a dream come true.” He decides to try to explain his feelings with the minimal use of words possible. Sander snorts, pulling his pillow to be as close as possible to Robbe´s before he can lie his head down too.

“You’re cute.”

Robbe rolls his eyes. He doesn’t want to be cute; he wants to be hot. Sander holds him by his waist, and Robbe kisses him again, slowly pulling the blankets over their heads again, finally putting his leg around Sander’s waist.

* jotting down some thoughts from old wtFock, seasons 1-3 .... (part 1)

1. Jana

Pros- Jana + Robbe (Belgium Eva + Isak); Girlsquad minus Amber; Zoe + Jana/Zoe + Yasmina/Luca + Yasmina; the first appearance of Senne/Senne + Zoe scenes

Cons- Jana + Jens (Belgium Eva + Jonas), lol

*couldn't remember anything from this og season and the first few eps were fun, then I got annoyed at how the main couple story seemed to drag on; overall it was average-i don't think they changed much and the story was fine, but nothing really blew me away

2. Zoe

*I don't remember much from this og season (gonna be honest, before this, I don't think I finished Noora's season ever, because I can't stand William, lol, and I didn't realize until now).

Pros- Senne feels like a more likeable version of William to me [basing even off of the earlier episodes before both Senne/William's development]. (+ Senne at the beginning of wtFOCK is even still better than William at the end of Skam OG).

Cons- I LOVE Zoe + Senne, but the early ep conflict of her going on a date with him and being in denial is honestly so stupid. It seems like such a simple issue in the world of Skam in comparison to the other seasons for every reimagination. (But I know the later conflicts are gonna break me).

More in depth appreciation of Senne and Zoe

Senne: There were only a few moments in season 1 + early season 2 where I questioned him, but there's just charm and development to Senne that fleshes him out and actually made me love this couple by the end. They don't water down parts of "Senne" that are truly important to his whole "bad boy" personality-like later on (s3) his instinctual crutch of violence towards his brother or his smart-ass comments in season 1, but they also don't make him just a terrible boyfriend like og.

Zoe: could throw water in someone's face for no reason and I would still love her (I'm watching s4 rn although she doesn't do that, so this is kind of in line). She's not perfect and a lot of her push-back with Senne (mainly) can be really unreasonable, but that's what makes her her. I feel like she comes off as more stubborn than og Noora, but I honestly love it and there's subtle changes to her characterization that back it up. She's one of the most headstrong Nooras (obv all of them have this trait), and she's someone that is gonna move in a way that seems proactive to her (ex: her taking the plan B pill before even knowing what happened to her). The only minor thing I thought at one point is that we didn't get enough of Zoe's perspective on things (there are a lot of characters and it's great to see them, but sometimes certain interactions felt it took away in some way, idk). She was just a character I knew I would love immediately in season 1 [& she's great, but as I go on, I do think the writers kind of diminish her potential in some way (even certain choices in s2), but idk how to explain it-although it doesn't ruin her character at all for me, there's just minor minor differences than how she seemed].

Zoenne: I love how they are so different in their points of view; they each are strong in their opinions and it's not resolved too quickly. I honestly see both povs, which is how it should be. And in season 3, I wasn't even mad at the break up (even though it didn't last long)-they are the only Noorhelm imo to address the problem between them (with them being so young + why love's not enough), not make it the end of the world, and still get back together at a later time.

wtFOCK likes to dramatize a lot of their scenes, but for me it works in Zoe's season.

Examples: 1) the text from Senne's brother at the end of the episode revealing the pictures he took per the glass drop; 2) the Senne finds out scene I felt was better directed and acted than the og scene, giving a more emotional feel and lead up to the hallway confrontation in ep 10

other things: Amber is one of the worst Vildes in terms of ignorance, however they've done well with her development and not resolving her problems too quickly [I just know I'll eat my words come season 4/5]. Her seemingly heightened naivety against the other "Vildes" makes so much sense in this scenario.

2 is definitely my fav wtFock season

...not sure I'll watch Season 4, cause I know it's gonna piss me off more than Imane's, but maybe I'll continue for Yasmina only

“Hey,” Robbe said, and the other boys at the table quieted down, their curiosity now also prioritizing the lone Jens sliding into the picnic table. “Where’s Lucas?”

“Sleeping,” Jens answered shortly, settling down on the bench and lifting his head to look at his friends.

“Holy shit!” “Woah!” Moyo and Aaron shouted concurrently, making multiple overtired teenagers turn to glare. Robbe ignored them, grabbing Jens’ face with one hand and turning it toward him to get a better look. “What the hell happened?”

A mix of purple and black encircled Jens’ left eye, traveling up and disappearing under a band-aid adhered to his temple. The skin directly below his eye was swollen and glossy from what Robbe guessed was some type of ointment. Another small bandage was plastered over the bridge of his nose, a dot of red bleeding through and standing out on the tan material.

“Nothing,” Jens declared, jerking out of Robbe’s hold. “Just drop it.”

Or, When Jens and Lucas gain mysterious injuries neither of them will openly talk about, Robbe is reminded of his and Sander’s attack and is concerned for his friends.

I miss the big rec posts of old, so… I’m gonna do one. And I'm going to be real extra about it. I’ve read & reread a variety of things over the past few months that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed, and figured hey, y'all might enjoy them as well. Is there a rhyme or reason? Of course not. Are they all new? Hell no, that’s the joy of an archive. I also realized like half of them are spooky season themed, so... *shrugs* viva la spooky season.

Game of Thrones

Dornish Sand by Aviss - (E, 5K, Oberyn/Ellaria/Jamie/Brienne)

Jamie & Brienne go to Dorne, and the four of them bone. Why there aren’t more of these four together, I don’t know. More fics should be about sexy folks worshiping Brienne and this definitely hits it.

Royal Flush by @astolat - (E, 85K, various)

Canon divergence - what if during the Battle of Blackwater Robb found his way into King’s Landing, rescued Sansa, and killed Joffrey? Where does the game go from there? That’s the premise and it really is best to ignore the tags and discover the story as it goes because it is deeply engrossing and this is the type of story where being surprised and watching the chess match unfold is part of the fun.

The stories say there's a place in Harlan County that will grant your wish on Halloween night. Raylan thinks Loretta should stay the hell away from it. Another one to head into spooky season. Because as someone who grew up in a rural area, some places are just creepy as fuck and this has the vibes.

Another preview to spooky season (do I have a thing for Appalachian scares? apparently) with Raylan, Tim, and Rachel chasing a fugitive into what feels like a haunted mine. There are far too many things you can only see from the corner of your eye that far underground.

Post-S2, Din returns to Tatooine looking for peace, but he’s haunted by the darksabre, both literally and figuratively. Cobb’s not doing much better. Some of the best haunted by your past AND actually haunted that I’ve read and perfect going into spooky season.

I can’t articulate how much I love this fic from an author who never disappoints.

If you don’t mind share the takes! I have all the time in the world

okay well uh we talked about it for hours so there’s no way i’ll remember it all 😭

but generally ->

we both think sobbe is the best evak and we think a lot of that comes down two factors

1. most of the evaks despite being teen relationships are taken quite seriously, which is totally fine and a great take and obviously we’re dealing with quite serious subject matter like internalised homophobia and mental health so that makes sense. however we both feel that’s what’s missing from a lot of the evaks that sense of like teenage first love giddiness especially for characters like the isaks who (cris excepted) are experiencing their first relationship that actually aligns with their sexuality. i think all the evaks definitely have moments of like sweet teenage romance but i think sobbe are the only pairing that really emphasise that and get it right consistently

- a lot of the credit for this goes to willem h who perfectly and consistently portrays a sense of like giddy happy wonder about sander from the very first moment they meet he seems so believably shy and awed and just GIDDY im gonna use that word 800 times because it’s true! you see it in the supermarket scene, at the pool, when he apologised to sander at the bike racks and ESPECIALLY during the cuddle clip and any scene where sander texts him it’s so clear how young and happy and in love he is that he can barely keep it inside which i really think is what a first love first crush should feel like.

- additionally i think they perfectly capture it in scenes together, first with the cuddle clip where they genuinely just feel like teenagers who are young and in love who can’t get enough of each other, and then again in the 21:21 scene which in most remakes is quite intense and it is with them too but idk something about the “stomme schoenen” and them being dumb and happy and falling off the bed feels so much more real and authentic than any more carefully shot love scene ever could. i also think the fact that they’re extremely touchy and down bad for each other once again feels extremely realistic for a teenage relationship. if i had to explain it i’d say sobbe get to be so immature (in the best way) and mature in equal measure and that balance is very unique to them (though not saying the other evaks don’t have that or aren’t these things just not to the degree that robbe and sander are)

and

2. the second reason we think they work so effectively is because they already feel like boyfriends. with a lot of the evaks even though they’re technically together during their seasons they don’t feel like a settled couple until the final episode of their season and then in s4 but with sobbe they feel like a solid couple from the second they get together and maybe it’s because we got so many scenes of them just hanging out at robbes, going to meet each other, texting each other etc etc

we both also really love robbe and despite the lack of religious trauma plot, we find him to be one of the most nuanced and interesting isaks

we both really love the way he’s played like he is arguably the least or one of the least “bitchy” isak characters (once again i love my bitchy isaks that is not an insult theyre icons) but robbe is played so different hes so interesting because he generally seems to care a lot about others feelings and is very very sweet when he’s being himself. moments that showcase this:

- him (as i interpret it) almost coming out to jana at the end of season one and having him apparently tell jens that jana kissed someone else in a moment of drunk regret that he feels openly bad about rather than as a calculated move like isak did and not blaming it on him being in love with jana

- him sitting down at the cafe with the girls in season 2

- him complimenting noor in the bathroom instead of insulting her like some of the other isaks do

- him not leaving the weed behind at the house for other people to deal with (i know this is more because plotwise yasmina wasn’t at the party but i think it adds to his character)

- him texting amber that they were going to the supermarket even though sander told him not to worry about it

- him sitting down and properly breaking up with noor

- all of this culminating with the reason him and sander staying apart after his manic episode having more to do with him wanting to do the right thing for sander and not wanting to hurt him (as everyone was telling robbe the best thing for sander was for sander to stay with britt and for robbe to stay away) rather than just because he was scared and unsure. which really makes sense with the way they had robbe and his mother have this really beautiful close relationship which you can feel the warmth of even though she’s never on screen which again thinks adds to his characterisation and what makes him such a good partner for sander because he’s really at his core gentle and patient and good (as we see in the ohn scene which in my opinion is one of the best remakes of that scene specifically because they go for something different)

also i think they did a really good job setting up his internalised homophobia like s1 and s2 make it so clear why robbes mindset is the way it is at the start of season three with having the boysquad be much harsher and more awful to robbe through out s1 and the girl squad laughing and gossiping about his potential queerness in s2 culminating with milan trying to out him in front of all his friends it’s so clear why robbe acts the way he does in season three though it doesn’t justify it. but having and isak deal with such an openly homophobic environment that extends even to his closest friends was a really different and in some ways more realistic choice

Excerpt:

“Fuck, I’m tired,” Aaron groaned Monday at lunch, dropping his head onto the arm he had slung on the table. “How do you guys do this all year, from show to show?” His eyes slowly drifted over to look at Sander and Senne, but his question also encompassed Elias and Younes behind him.

Younes leaned over Aaron's back, crossing his arms to rest on his shoulder blade. “Habit?”

“Insanity?” Elias offered.

“Better than being bored?” Senne suggested with a shrug.

“I dunno,” Sander smiled. “I like it. I like all the fuss, the busy schedule, the anticipation, the excitement. I think it’s fun, and as a bonus, it makes me have to hyper-focus to get my schoolwork done. I waste a lot less time.”

Aaron face-planted onto the table, taking Younes with him in a thump. “I wish it worked like that for me. I’m so behind I’m seriously considering skipping rehearsal or school or both.”

“You’ll be fine,” Robbe said from his position at Sander’s other side. “If you want, we can meet up early before tech on Saturday or sometime this week. I can help with science and whatever else you need.”

Aaron lunged forward, grabbing the lapels of Robbe’s blazer, and with fire in his eyes, said, “Thank you. Oh my fucking God, please, yes.” He let go slowly, flopping back into his seat to exhaustedly lean his head on Jens’s shoulder, who rolled his eyes but put up no fuss.

Younes, who’d been completely dislodged from Aaron's back, sat up wearily. “Hey, who’s offering to do my homework?”

Robbe threw a napkin at him. “I’m not doing his homework! Just helping.”

Robbe knew his best friend. He could see when he was sad, sense when he was angry, feel when he was happy. It was a skill he prided himself on. So when Lucas came along, Robbe could tell that Jens was in love.

He saw the looks Jens gave the new boy from across the courtyard, full of awe and yearning, but every time Jens turned back to their lunch table, Robbe pretended he didn’t notice.

Robbe also knew how scary it was to recognize that what you felt was love. So he didn’t tease, or laugh, or judge.

He knew it was what Jens needed.

i’m not really wanting to write for it anymore but you have been the only kind soul to give me smth to do and it’s a vv sweet prompt. also, thank you very very much!! i think i have almost 3k of the next chapter atm 😌

9. There’s only one bed and we sleep as far away as possible from each other but wake up cuddling

Robbe’s crush on Jens is long gone, and their friendship feels all the stronger because of it, but there’s still something weird about sharing a bed. Perhaps it’s lingering anxiety; perhaps it’s because Robbe finds it weird to share a bed with anyone, apart from Sander.

Something about it feels inherently awkward, to Robbe. Blessedly, Jens doesn’t snore, isn’t even a loud breather, and still, Robbe can’t imagine being able to sleep with someone else breathing in his face. He gets stressed about moving around too much, even though he’s a relatively still sleeper, and makes his body ache from lying so still.

The perks of it being Jens is that Jens understands this about him, and settles, like Robbe, as close to the edge of the bed as he can get so they both have more space.

Even if it means suffering Jens’s snort and half-asleep-but-fully-amused mutter of, “Five feet apart ‘cause we’re both gay.”

Robbe cannot fathom how he wakes in the morning with Jens smushed to his chest and his face smothered in Jens’s hair. His instant instinct—to simply roll away—is thwarted by the arm around his middle, which tightens the minute he moves.

“Five more minutes,” Jens mumbles.

Robbe huffs. “You can’t have them on your own pillow?”

“You’re warmer.”

“You’re heavy.”

“Deal with it.”

“You could’ve asked for a hug,” Robbe says, resignedly wrapping an arm around his friend’s shoulders.

“Can I have a hug? For five more minutes.”

“You’re so annoying.”

Jens pointedly hooks a leg over Robbe’s and says, “You love me. It’s okay, Sander doesn’t mind.”

“I’m leaving,” Robbe says, smiling, not moving an inch.

„Robbe, you don’t know how happy I am that you are here. I think the last time we actually saw each other, was maybe in August?“ His mother probably said it for the third time. It were one of her first words that Robbe heard entering the house. Jens was sure it would also be the last. He didn’t hold it against her though. As he feared, that she feared, she may not be able to see his best friend again.

„Well, doesn’t really matter, does it? So you are still living at the flatshare?“ She continued, as she cut half of the wild, colourful array of vegtables. While Robbe did the other half. Jens was on potato duty.

„Eh yeah, Lisa only planned to go for a semester abroad and now she is doing her degree there. But she will be back next year for her masters, so.. we’ll see I guess. Not sure yet where I’ll go to university either, so I anything can happen, really.“ Robbe said slightly uncomfortable to talk about it out loud. He knew it was a sore spot between the two best friends. Who had promised to study in the same city, preferably at the same university, and grow old together. Not that Jens would ever hold it against Robbe, or be cross with him, should he be accepted anywhere else.

„I see. What are you planning to study?“

„Uhm, so I don’t really have spoken about it a lot, but I may try to apply to study filmmaking.“

„Flimmaking?“ His mother’s eyes darted over towards Robbe, definitely not having expected that answer. Robbe always had shown more of an interest in sience.

„Yes, I found out that I really enjoy filming and directing. Camerawork in general, I think. And with Sander... he is already excited for me, so I’ll try and see if I’m any good to get in. Doubt it. Therefore I’m still going to apply for biochemistry like I had planned originally. It’s wierd isn’t it?“

„Not at all. I think it is a great idea to try as many things as you can. Jens, could you pass me the salt?“ His mother told Robbe, smiling proudly at him, like only a mother really could, Jens believed. It made Robbe blush slightly. Jens meanwhile fullfilled his mother’s request and handed her the little shaker.

„My mom and basically everyone else said the same thing.“

„That’s because it is true. How is she doing by the way?“

„Better.“ Robbe said it so genuine and joyful, that one couldn’t not be happy for him.

„Oh that’s nice to hear, we talked on the phone a little bit last month .She seemed to be doing alright.“ Jens looked up surprised. He hadn’t known about that. His mother had sent him a quick glance, something that unsettled him. Why were they talking? Perhaps a bit unfair of him to assume things. With Robbe and Jens being best friends, their parents obviously also had spent a lot of their time together.

„She is. I mean, there was another small episode when lockdown started, and she was a couple days at the hospital. But since then she is doing great. I visit her at home with Sander every week. They tall so much though. I usually just scroll through instagram there. But it helps both of them. And I love them, having someone to understand, that isn’t a therapist.“ Robbe explained away, definitely being so much more comfortable around the topic. His best friend had really grown up a lot over the last year. Jens was a bit jealous of him being that... Content? He wasn’t quite sure.

„Just throw them in.“ His mother quickly told Lotte, who was an absolute savage when it came to cutting onions. If Jens wouldn’t have seen his sister cry before, he may think she wasn’t able to.

„I can imagine them having a lot of experiences in common. So you two are still together?“ She continued her little interview, turning back her attention towards Robbe.

„Mhm, a year now.“ His best friend was smiling from ear to ear. A pure ball of pride and bliss whenever he was reminded of his boyfriend. It made his mother chuckle.

„And how is it going?“ She asked, definitely enjoying the boy’s face light up further. If that was even possible.

„I still can’t believe to have him. It still feels the same now. Still exciting and right and perfect. Yes, he drives me crazy sometimes. Does and says stupid stuff. And with his work for the academy right now, he is constantly busy, ignoring me for hours every other day. But we still fall asleep and wake up to each other every night, so I think, we are very lucky.“

„Well said. You are indeed lucky.“ She laughed lightly, nodding through all of it, before she saw Lotte trying to take out the heavy baking dish from the cupboard. „Oh Lotte, wait. I’ll take that.“ She was about to step over, when Jens was taking the bowl from Lotte, placing it onto the counter next to him, smiling at his mother.

„How is your work? Jens never talks about you, other than you are still doing home-office.“

Here we go. He had read the messages in chat last night. He knew Robbe would want to bring it up at some point. He had already wondered all afternoon, why his best friend had decided to stay silent about it.

Jens continued to cut his potatoes, and tried his best not to look over every other second.

„Is that so? Well, it is stressful to say the least. We are nearing the end of a very eventful year, and my department has to get everything ready to plan next year’s budgets, so you can imagine the chaos.“

„Not really, no.“ Robbe answered his mother honestly, trying for a charming smile as she nudged his shoulder.

„Let’s just say, I stare at spreadsheets, over spreadsheets of numbers every day, trying to figure out, what department and project deserve what kind of funds for next year.“ She continued to explain, very aware that it bore most people. Jens included. But his mother always had enjoyed working with numbers, she had told him. It was easier than words apparently. Jens would disagree.

„Sounds exhausting.“ Was all that Robbe said in response.

„It is.“ His mother agreed, not loosing the smile, but definitely seeing where Robbe came from.

„I guess, that’s why Jens has to help out so much, huh?“

And there it was. The one question Jens hoped to avoid in front of his mother. She was not to blame. She was sick and it was on Jens, that his friends didn’t know. It was his fault that his friends thought he ignored them, when he only tried to accommodate for everything in his live. And apparently failing miserably at it.

„Does he? I try to still do as much as possible actually.“

„And you do, mom, it’s fine.“ Jens said to try to not have her upset or feel inadequate. Like she should do more, help more. Wich wouldn’t help them. She needed a lot of rest. That’s what the doctor always told them.

„It’s just that, we never really get to see or talk to Jens, other than maybe at the weekend. So we are a bit worried about him.“ Robbe continued blissfully unaware of the things he was asking of her. Jens wanted him to stop. He just couldn’t bring himself to say something. His mother also didn’t need to feel guilty of shutting Jens out of his friend group. He did that just weel enough by himself.

„Oh really? But isn’t it also because of L...“

Noooooooo. Jens let the knife slip from his hands, watching it fall to the ground, before he threw his mother a glance, one that hopefully conveyed that she should not bring Lucas up.

„Mom!“ Thank god, for Lotte! He should write her songs of praise, as his sister called for attention, leaving Jens to pick up the knife.

„I think the potatos are ready to be put in the oven.“ Lotte continued happily on, making Jens realise that indeed he had stopped cutting them minutes ago and that the baking dish was filled.

„Right! One sec, just gonna add some, oil, herbs and the vegetables and we are good to go.“ Her mother said, starting to pile everything into it, Robbe finishing the carrots just in time.

„So what were you trying to say?“ His best friend reminded of the previous conversation. Damn him.

„Ehm, Lotte and Jens are spending a lot of time together lately, maybe that adds to it?“ Well, maybe his mom had understood somehow. Jens felt so much lighter, the topic being somewhat brought to an end. Or maybe not...

„I guess.“ Robbe looked like he was about to ask something else, when his brilliant little sister’s voice interrupted his best friend, like she had done with their mother. Jens wasn’t sure if she understood and tried to help, or simply had perfect timing. He wouldn’t question it. „Also why didn’t Sander come too?“

Robbe snorted at that, just like Jens did. Of course his sister would be sad about Robbe’s boyfriend being absent.

„He is actually working on his concept for the photo shoot next month and I’m basically always with him so I am very glad to be able to see Jens on my own for once. You know talking and stuff. Sander knows that too.“

„You sat on the sofa for two hours and played Super Smash Bros.“ His little sister stated puzzled, almost accusatory.

„Just like old times.“ Jens said, grinning at Robbe over his shoulder. Who simply nodded in silent agreement.

It honestly felt like they had been 15 all over again this afternoon. Fighting over unfair game mechanics, cheating, and trying to divert the other boys attention away in order to win.

Playing rock-paper-scissors to see who had to get up to get more snacks and drinks.

And just to be them alone again.

Since Jana, there was somehow always another person around. Be it Moyo, or Aaron, or Sander, or another girl Jens dated. Not that it was a bad thing, it just meant that being with Robbe alone felt nice.

Though they also felt closer and Jens wasn’t sure if it was true or just a figment of his imagination. But he believed that Robbe was more... Physical? Maybe his best friend always had been. Perhaps being out and accepted, just made him more comfortable around Jens.

He didn’t mind, he liked cuddling up on the sofa with Robbe.

„Boys.“ Lotte shook her head dramatically with a deep sigh. Much to everyone’s amusement. Ripping Jens out of his thoughts, he almost had forgotten that they all stood in the kitchen. Lotte sighed once more in a grand gesture. Certainly very dissapointed that she wasn’t able to spend her afternoon with a certain artistic boy, before she went back to the table to draw.

„So , I guess that’s it for dinner preperation. Now we wait.“ His mother said, clapping her hands, before she took her phone out to set a timer and join Lotte.

Robbe was already looking at him, when Jens turned his head.

„Super Smash Bros?“

„Super Smash Bros!“
