Super short one: but this little moment is one of my faves at the moment. Literally like two lines of dialogue... but it's so raw and to-the-point... which is rare for these two. (and also I suck with the dialogue part of writing so there's really nothing great to pick from haha)
It was... a lot.
Almost too much to process.
But he didn't have time for that now. She needed him, even if she wasn't willing to admit it, and he needed to stay strong for her.
He turned to her, watched as she struggled to keep it all in.
"What do you need?" he asked as he stepped closer. "Is there anything I can do? Anything at all?"
She shook her head, no.
"I just need you," she confessed tearfully as she stepped into his arms.
He inhaled deeply, exhaled slowly, tried to calm his own emotions and just... held her. For as long as she needed, he would stand in silence and simply hold her, keep her guarded from all the evil in this world.

Okay, so this scene isn't fully written so I'll just have to summarise it for you.
Necessary fic info:
Beckett and Castle have hooked up in the past (not too long ago) but aren't together.
The whole gang was invited to the Hamptons for Castle's 4th of July party (I just love them all being in 'his world' together).
Due to a limited number of bedrooms, Beckett and Lanie are sharing a room (Esplanie is not a thing in this WIP - yet!)
It's a 4th of July party... the drinks are flowing and previously made sleeping arrangements are completely disregarded.
Anyways, the scene outline:
Beckett wakes, her head is pounding and the sun is way too bright. She groans and pulls herself out of bed - not her bed... Castle's. But she's not going to address that right now, it's too messy and she is too hungover to deal with that right now. She just wants to go back to sleep. But she isn't going to risk anyone seeing her sneaking out of Castle's room later so she decides to sneak back into hers and Lanie's room now.
She tiptoes down the hall and into their room. Thankfully, the block-out curtains are pulled shut so the room is dark and she doesn't have to squint painfully anymore. She creeps across the room to her side of the bed, pulls the covers back and slips in between the sheets, snuggling up to what she assumes is Lanie (in a totally platonic, BFF kinda way). But something doesn't feel right.
She opens her eyes and studies the figure... it doesn't take long to realise this is a grown ass man she is snuggling.
She practically leaps out of bed and Lanie walks out of the adjoining bathroom. They make eye contact and it lasts soooooo long, neither of them know what to do.
Then Lanie finally says something along the lines of: "I won't ask where you've been all night if you pretend this never happened."
Beckett nods. "Deal." Then snatches a blanket and goes to sleep on the couch.

If You Could See The Sun by Ann Liang — super cute and feel happy and funny, but also had lots of important themes of social classes and inequality.
O Caledonia by Elspeth Barker — very creepy and eerie. you know what's coming the entire time but my breath escaped my lungs even as I read it at the end. chilling and the main character is relatable for all the girls who feel unheard by their family.
Fire and Blood by GRRM — lots of people don't like this, but for what it's purpose I thought it was great. loved Visenya, Rhaena the Lesbian, and the chapters on the Dance of the Dragons. I love crazy Targs and there is A LOT in this book
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott — always try to reread it as it is one of my fav books. what's more to say? everyone should read this.
Cursed Bunny by Bora Chung — a bunch of short horror stories. weird, creepy, and hilarious. loved this. I rarely react to a book physically but I was laughing in the park when I read this one afternoon.

And not only sweets, even prank tools! Let's be honest here, if it wasn't for all these pre-Weasley prank products, the twins would've never thought to open a joke shop
George was the brilliant mastermind of all pranks and jokes they had, Fred suggests the idea and George plans it perfectly to happen
This guy is so fuckin smart MA I LOVE HIM
He is the exact definition of just because yo're not smart academically doesn't mean you're not smart at all
George just gives this vibe around him that says 'hey im a teddy bear at heart'
and he is, he definitely is. And to me, lanie gives off the same vibe as George!
She's kind, she's friendly, so so very sweet and her works are de-scrump-dilly-iciously amazing and i love her so much <3

I don't particularly know why people(crazy hate anons) are attacking you so viciously, but I think you're pretty cool! You seem like a nice person, and it makes me quite mad when hate anons attack people, especially when it's for no reason. They've been going crazy lately, idk if it's because of the weather or what, but they should really calm down.
Anyways, that's honestly all I had to say, you're a pretty cool, nice and interesting person! (I hope saying interesting doesn't sound weird, I mean it in the best way! Especially since I don't know you as well as others)
