this site has completely stopped being fun for me already, so it's time to find somewhere else to go.

Schedule

I work a few different freelance jobs and so my schedule is constantly in flux. I usually stream weekday at 11:00 AM or 12:00 PM in the EST/EDT timezone. I'll attach my weekly schedule for the current week below:

Content I Stream/Create

I usually stream otome visual novels or joseimuke mobile games. Some of my favorites are Ensemble Stars!! Basic and Music, Bandori, Taisho x Alice, Tears of Themis, Hatoful Boyfriend, and BUSTAFELLOWS.

Sometimes I'll stream variety content such as JRPGs, scuffed karaoke (yes it is always scuffed lol), baking or decorating desserts (rare because this is messy and requires lots of planning!), crocheting, and cozy chatting content. I like to experiment with my content when I have more time in my schedule!

I'm currently working on a larger video project where I summarize the entirety of the Ensemble Stars story backlog and lore on YouTube. The series is still very much a work in progress but I do have a livestream VOD where I explained some basics about the game universe and characters which you can watch here:

I also really love music! I try to hold karaokes as much as I can and I've recently start recording covers songs! You can check out my first cover song below. It would mean a lot to me if you gave it a like as well!

Other than that I do a bit of voice acting, sometimes while I'm playing VNs I'll even try to voice over the characters. But mostly I just record short voice clips and post them to YouTube and TikTok.

Now that I have this page I hope to post some exclusive Tumblr content such as video scripts for my YouTube videos and reviews for games, animes, mangas, and novels! I'll link back to some of those posts when I do create them.

These are the 3 big tips for developing an art style I wish knew when I was younger:

Find the things that inspire you, and break down what you specifically like about them.

Experiment! Try new things! Practice! Your art style will develop on its own as long as you keep creating.

Have fun! Draw what you enjoy and what makes you happy. Your style is yours; you should enjoy it.

When I was younger, I caught myself thinking things like, "I would like to draw the eyes like this, but I can't because it's not my art style." Then I realized that I was getting in my own way. Once I overcame that mental blockade, I started having fun drawing again. When I allowed myself to experiment, it also caused me to improve faster because I could figure out the things I liked and the things I didn't like. Everyone's art journey and process are different, but this helped me personally.

Yes, I do have multiple different art styles. I have my regular art style, a cartoony art style (I am not currently happy with it. I have a lot to work on), a silly doodle art style, and a realism style (or as close as I can get to it). I also draw eyes differently depending on the feeling I want. For example, I draw tear ducts on characters that I want to have a sort of scary horror vibe, and I don't on other characters (I don't really know why or how it started). I also experiment a lot, which causes my art to always look slightly different.

I also like to prioritize drawing the things that I enjoy the most. I really like drawing faces and expressions so I've practiced that the most (along with neglecting things I don't enjoy like coloring, I'm working on it I swear, I digress).

There are also a ton of little trademarks that show up over and over again. Like giving characters sideburns or hair strands that frame their faces, never adding highlights in eyes, adding swirls in hair, and there is this weird thing where I associate the number of eyelashes I give characters to their personalities (I couldn't explain it if I tried 😅). I think it's important to stumble upon little things you enjoy drawing and to keep doing it.

But thank you also for your intelligent, interesting, often funny, always thought provoking Tumblr!

(My own Tumblr is, um, less high minded.)

We may be very different men in some ways, but your ideas on government, self defense, outdoor recreation, food, nature, married life, and most other subjects are right on, Sir!

On marriage, I happen to have a husband, not a wife, but I think for both of us the experience is an amazing journey of discovery and adaptation.

On self defense, I was never in the military. Honestly I don't know what half the weapons you post are. I just try to do a little karate, and lately a little kobudo in my "old age." (59, the oldest I've ever been!) But I marvel at your evident skill and breadth of knowledge. The whole point of being able to fight, after all, is to attain peace.

Just when I’m sure the Human race is beyond recovery someone pops up and reminds me there are still good damned people on this blue sphere we call home. @hoss-sc, First and foremost, thank you for your kind words, with that said I have been accused of a great many things, High Minded is not one of them, but I'll take what I can get. Thank you, it is my honor to have served, I found more than I’ve lost and it changed my perspective on so much. It is true we are different men but as I have found, people as individuals, devoid of the separations and segregation that are placed on us by society and governments see more eye to eye than we know. When you understand that the very people, organizations and governments that keep putting us in little boxes are the very one’s fanning the flames of hate and distrust. Reminds me of this scene from Men In Black.

I don't have much need of those little boxes, those categories that we are yoked with. I chose who I like, or dislike, based on who they are not who I'm told they are. As I have said many times on here I don't care where a person comes from, who they bend a knee to, who they sleep with or what color they are. My baseline qualifier is what kind of Human they are. I have never had one of those artificial sub-categories clarify a person for me, only time and actions can so that. The chaff will always separate from the Wheat given enough time to do so.

I am pleased you and I have much more in common than not. I think every Human has Rights that exist before the laws of men. I think life outside teaches more practical lessons than and room and 4 walls can. I think Governments should be small and people should be allowed to be free. Hoss, I’m glad you have found your love and your happiness, damnit it is a rare thing in this age of instant gratifications and disposable relationships. With that said I have been married 3 times, the first one left me while I was deployed, the second one stabbed me and the one I spent all those years looking for, well, we’ve been together 17 years this July. I don’t care if one is in a same sex relationship or an opposite sex relationship, who people sleep with has very little to do with me or what I think of them. I’m sure you and I could have long conversations about the boxes society has created to keep people both locked up and hidden in. Self-defense, Man this hits me to my core. EVERY HUMAN HAS THE RIGHT TO SELF-DEFENSE!! Self-defense is the cornerstone to living a life free from oppression either from thugs and criminals or oppressive governments. I think everyone should learn a form of unarmed self-defense and learn to use firearms because deferring your safety and the safety of those you love to someone less concerned about your survival just isn’t the greatest option. I taught unarmed self-defense for 10 years and I have taught armed defense for close to 30 years, each one is an important aspect in our personal responsibility to not live in victimhood. A few years back I started training in Filipino martial arts (kali, escrima, arnis) with a guy out at NAS Fallon, it is so different from the traditional Jiu Jitsu I started with in the 90’s and the Gracie style of Jiu Jitsu I did for many many years and the same style my kids do now. I trained at if for a little over a year before the guy got orders and I haven’t found an instructor since, small town blues. I cannot accurately express how important I feel self-defense is. But, as you know, as we get on in the years all the shit we did to our bodies in our younger more rambunctious years starts to slow us down. I’ll be 53 in June and all those “Oh shit, I survived that!” moments remind me that I am not quite a spry as I once was, but I’m also not dead. I will never be as fast or agile as I was at 20 or 30 or even 40 but I will never go down without a fight, it’s just not in my DNA. I didn't like the books I read this year that much, but I guess my favorite was Six Crimson Cranes. Also read some light novels and they were The Marriage Business and I'll be the Warrior's Mother.

08. Favorite game of the year: Genshin Impact and Obey me!

09. Highlight of this year to remember: March 7th when I went to Disneyland JSAFHJ

10. Favorite Tumblr moments of 2022: Tickletober, my 2k milestone. @vqler and @dokidoki-muffin return aaaand... I think that's the most I can remember hahaah

11. Favorite fan art of the year: I have been blessed with so much fanart this year omg, some of my faves were this one, of course because it's the first time someone drew art for one of my fics!

This has been such a journey and never in a million years would I have expected people to like and enjoy my stories as much as I do, seriously, it means so much to me! I would also like to apologize for not posting as much recently. My brain has been a little fried from writing, but I'm slowly but surely working on the drafts! oh god. I MEAN first of all YES!!!!! WONDERMAGIC W!!!!!!! im so happy to hear it. they make me actually crazy im glad youre enjoying The Art

however SECOND OF ALL i must confess (as i have confessed before!) that i am a fake ass comic book fan. i've barely read Anything for Any character (LOL) i am not at ALL versed in her various appearances/history. so tbh i hope my more knowledgeable followers can drop recs for both me and you if there's anything particularly noteworthy

but i can talk about what i HAVE read bc my journey with her has been very . memorable to me. anyway my first exposure to ms zatanna was in the first proper dc comic i ever read. which doesnt count because its extremely not about her (this is a tangent) but its notable for making me out loud go "who is this MAGICIAN" which prompted my partner to immediately reply "you mean zatanna zatara". oh you know her. you know the magician. bitch who the hell is--

you gotta appreciate the experience here. its babys first ever comic. i know superman i know batman ive seen them around (from being alive as a human). i have never in my life heard of the stage magician who hangs out with them (in full costume??) and is their friend(?????)

anyway that's all a tangent. flash forwards to last month. i was already working on CTDE from the kara^2 angle (bc i majored in n52 power girl w a minor degree in supergirl: woman of tomorrow, of course) but i was like "i should expand this roster". my friends suggest their blorbos ofc and i have a fun time reading wiki pages from multiple storylines/continuities just getting a wide array of impressions from different places. just snooping around the Vibes. and im like. man i should look at that Magician. read some of HER pages

you gotta appreciate knowing nothing at like 3am, to figuring out ctde zatanna's palette at 5:43 am

anyway i already knew here that i was going to do something weird with her in the CTDE that wasn't necessarily connected to any of her published material. i was cooking independently. the stove was on before i had ingredients on hand bc i had the IDEA first. but i was like "i should look at some of her stuff first-hand and try and refine the Vibes" yknow. like theres limits to how much of a fake zatanna fan i can be

so we put out a call in the Mutuals Network and someone was like "you Could watch the justice league dark movie from 2017 she's in that". i was like ok 1hr15 animated movie i can handle that EASY

i didn't love the movie. so i'm not going to say anything else about it. however something VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE:

nyway this is Justice League Dark from 2018-2020 it's like 30 issues or so and theres a stretch of chapters where diana is a real hunk its unbelievable. then the art changes but it was amazing while it lasted

i really enjoyed this comic actually. i have NO idea how its generally regarded by zatanna nation, but i had a fun enough time. absorbed a lot of DC Comics Magic Lore for my AU which is important

at some point it starts doing Weirdly Umineko Coded dialogue totally unprompted so if you've read that it might tickle your funnybone to see comic book characters asking each other "was this a trick or was it magic 😏". made me feel right at home

my main complaint is that SHE'S NOT DRESSED LIKE A FUCKING MAGICIAN IN IT!!!! COME ON!!!!! they chickened out on the full magician garb in this whole era. which is just so sad. the fishnet fingerless gloves are funny though i might steal that. but i think she is so funny when she's wearing the full magician costume. like call me shallow but her commitment to the bit is so important to me

on the upside she interacts with wonder woman A Lot. the rest of the team is fun too. the justice league dark team is just wonder woman severely failing to put together a squad with any star power at all and i think that's adorable. her failgirl era. now she's out here with her also-rans. i like them all im fond of them

diana scruffs zee like a cat??? she's just hanging there like she's ok with it LOL

it technically jumps off of another comic but tbh if you're willing to hit the ground running and just Accept some stuff in medias res and go with it it's pretty easy to pick up if you wanted

("Just Going With It" is a vital survival skill for getting into comics in general because even if a comic isn't part of a longer continuity its always like "omg glup shitto is here!!! for the fans!!!" and you just have to be like Okay someone else will know who that is. ill just go w it. yknow 😭)

anyway i got a lot of DC Magic Lore (Strangely Familiar Edition) and Zee Content AND!!! Wondermagic Content. in this one. so even if i had an inkling about them before, this comic is really what detonated the charge so to speak. they interact so much

and the dynamic created w their relationship to magic and stuff is really interesting. brainwormy for sure. it took me from "who the hell is this magician" to "DO PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT WONDERMAGIC????? FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HELLO???" in one comic. i have a LOT of thoughts about them like genuinely i think there's meat on the bone conceptually for wondermagic

but i think pretty much any time they appear together in general they're just Like That. whenever theyre both in a comic they have to be gay about it (what the fuck did she mean by this). i was losing my mind when i was catching up on DC/RWBY (ABHORRED. avoid if possible) and zatanna is immediately on her bullshit again. IS THAT HOW YOU GREET HER

anyway to sum up my rambling here's a peek into my league of comic geeks library of Shit Ive Read Since Then (that had zee in it). basically i have no further wisdom for you but for the knowers this is where i'm at (click to enlarge)

it's a totally random selection LOL my strategy is that i look at comics that list her as a cast member and spin an actual roulette wheel in my brain to decide whether i should read it or not. there's very little else going on here. just monkey sees funny magician -> neuron activates

that pretty much catches us up on my zatanna journey. youll notice if you paid attention to the date/time stamps that it took a mere matter of Days to go from "yeah i can watch a movie" to "i think about her kissing women every night before i sleep". it is DIRE in here. im not sure ive ever had such a Severe escalation of worms

this is quite a long post so please bear with mee . . . also this may be a bit all over the place because i just do whatever T^T my first tip is to just keep practicing ! try to challenge yourself with stuff you want to improve on. i struggle the most with drawing hands, hence why in all the recent art i've posted all the poses have hands in them :') you'd find yourself discouraged sometimes, when you try to venture out of your usual drawing practice, because (1) it's difficult, and (2) it feels time-consuming – but never ever let that knock you off of the progress/goal you're working towards on ! you'll thank yourself in the future when you can finally draw anything you want with minimal struggles.

second tip is to use references ! it's ok to use references to practice how to draw a full body (and to familiarize yourself with how to proportion like how long should the arms be? how long should the neck be? did i place the legs correctly? is this perspective right?) i've recently been taking my own reference pictures (for my traditional art which i haven't really posted...) since sometimes there aren't many reference pictures on the internet that encapsulates what i want ! it's actually quite fun to do, and can be another way to challenge yourself to draw difficult perspectives/angles. in terms of fanart, i base off of the picture that i want to draw ! like in my recent HAN drawing, that was actually based off of his recent picture from bubble !

i've also recently been trying "blocking" which is where i do a rough "paint" or coloring of a piece, kind of like mapping out how i want it to look like, then later on refining the details ! (u can do this as well if you want another challenge for urself!)

third tip is to watch drawing tutorials/draw with me's on youtube ! that's what i did growing up ! they inspired me a lot, and eventually led me to finding my own art style ^^

fourth tip in growing your community or finding people who love your art? welp i truly don't feel like i'm there yet ! but if you want to find people who have the same interest as you using hashtags can do a lot ! like for me, i'm trying to find people who are also fans of stray kids, hence the tags relating to the drawing (of any member) i made !

just always keep the tags accurate ! add a tag that describes your art, is it digital? is it traditional? did you use color pencils? did you use paint? adding the tag "artists on tumblr" helps you find your fellow artists as well <3 you can also create your own art tag to help people browse through your art easily !

LASTLY, PLEASE HAVE FUN ! i find it's best to truly be interested in what you want to draw. it shouldn't feel like a chore, it should make you happy !! :)) i hope this long post helps, and i wish you the best on your art journey !!

Growth as a creative

My personal growth as a creative has been a journey that I'm still going through and I know I'm in the middle of my story but for where I'm at right now it makes me happy.

I've been a caterpillar for so long, from the first video I made in the 4th grade all the way until my sophomore year of high school is when I entered my cocoon. I'm slowly breaking out now, or at least that's how I feel currently but I could still be deep inside it.

I'm in my cocoon stage, I'm looking into artists I like, directors I can respect, and getting more into working in a film studio. I've also found a liking for my name "ErectedInGold" which I've been using for my more artsy accounts, so I feel as though that's why it's been growing on me a little more than usual.

But the same way these artists go through eras like Tyler, The Creator, Lil Nas X, and well Jojo Siwa trying to do a new era. That's what I'm going through right now, I went online from "DiegoAwooga" then a rebrand of "SorryDiego" and now I'm leaning more into "ErectedInGold" while I'm not going to rebrand everything to "ErectedInGold" it feels a lot more personal to me because this Tumblr is where I get personal and my art account on Instagram. This is why I still say I'm in my cocoon stage, I feel as though I'll be in this stage until art and creation is how I make a living. That's when I feel i'll have a more solid Idea on who I am.

But right now I want to speak about recent creations, my past three videos have done well and that's something I'm very grateful for. I remember being a freshmen and thinking that I had to feed the algorithm and make commentary or gaming videos and that's the only way I could make it, it sometimes still feels that way, and it hurts a little because freshmen me wanted a play button before I graduate and that's like in less than a year and I'm no where close to it, but I feel free and happy in a my art.

I'm so happy I can post personal creative and artistic projects online and have people relate to it and enjoy what I'm putting out. It makes me feels like I'm taking the right steps forward as a creative. No more pressures of feeding the algorithm and videos about the latest trends so that I can maximize my views on it before anyone else. Shit I remember when I did commentary I was on my phone 24/7 and I made one of the first Pink Sauce videos on YouTube, I'm glad I'm not there anymore.

I love the art I make and I'm happy people love it back, seeing that my passion for this is being enjoyed makes me a lot happier.

alright motherfuckers! time for me to exert all my effort in order to overcome my ✨✨✨crippling dislike of talking about my more obscure interests✨✨✨ and tell you all about one of two SUBLIME webcomics i read this year that i am completely in love with! i’ll make a post about the other one later but for now, let me tell you about the beautiful, beautiful story that is author sarah jolley’s the property of hate and why everyone needs to read it! let me explain:

the property of hate is a delightful, whimsical, fantasy-type webcomic that you can read for free online or buy in book form for 25 bucks! i'll admit, i'm a teensy bit confused about the plot, but the basic gist is that a little girl is offered the chance to become a hero by a mysterious, cheerful monster that shows up in her room one night- she accepts, and the monster- a british, suited humanoid creature named RGB with a tv for a head- takes her away to a confusing, somewhat magical land of characters that have yet to find their stories, among other things. but there are as many if not more enemies as friends- fears, doubts, nightmares, given form- and the girl soon finds out that her television-headed guide's intentions may not be as simple as they first seemed. that's a shitty synopsis, but there's world-saving and gorgeous art, as well as these significant perks:

art and storylines that play beautifully with film and art techniques such as chiaroscuro (art technique concerning light and shadow), dolly zooms (type of cinematic shot intended to disorient the viewer), and many other niche words- and it does it so that it's interesting and suspenseful!!!

PAIR OF MARRIED LESBIAN MONSTER WIVES!! "but liberty," you cry, "if they're monsters, that's questionable gay rep, isn't it?" i remove you from the premises immediately. that is not a valid argument because there is exactly one (1) human in this story. stan julienne the candy monster and her music wife or perish💙

genderfluid side character!! it's only a small detail, but it's there plain as day! ("and what are we today?" "female, darling.")

precocious small poc girl protagonist who takes NO shit from anyone. she's still adorable and likable, though, and she has short hair!! that's not important to the story but we stan young female protags with short hair💙

rgb!!! rgb the tv man who initiates the journey and guides the hero on her way so that she may save this world between worlds of sorts. dapper, british, infuriating at times, and- i kid you not- CANONICALLY PANSEXUAL, he is absolutely wonderful to read, and his character development is just *chef's kiss*. i love him a lot

an absolutely showstopping found family story. rgb and the hero are the single best father-daughter duo in fiction, contemporary or classic. they get off on the wrong foot, and they get on each other's nerves a fair bit, but they're family by the end (keep in mind that to my knowledge, the comic is currently ongoing and unfinished) and there are these amazingly heartwarming scenes between them that just make my sad scared heart go dhfssgjjfhjhiggjdhfxhd

THERE'S A PRAYING MANTIS CHARACTER WHO SPEAKS ONLY IN MORSE CODE. PULL UP AN ONLINE MORSE TRANSLATOR, THEIR REMARKS ARE TOO GOOD TO BE MISSED

genius worldbuilding.... imaginative and ingenuitive characters and worlds and concepts... honestly everything's practically perfect from a storytelling standpoint and just plain fun to read

comedy

a wonderful cast of side characters,

exquisite art,

meaningful and true morals about emotional health and good versus evil (among other things),

and so! many! other! incredible! things!!

Reworking the Fuzzy Gaming Quest

This is the first time I've ever blogged publicly about something like this. I usually talk to friends about it, but I just as often don't say anything, because when I talk about video-games I get hyperfocused and sometimes the conversation takes a long time, so I often feel like it's a bit rude to get people wrapped up in it. But I remembered I have a tumblr now and people actually blog on here sometimes, so: prepare to suffer.

To set up why I'm so weird about games allow me to explain: first of all, I'm obviously not neurotypical in some way I don't know but one day would like to figure out. SECOND, I've been playing video-games literally since I can remember. My first real memories of cognition are watching my dad put cartridges in the NES, and climbing on the bed to put our Thai bootleg cart in there myself so I could play weird sprite hacks of Super Mario Bros. So anyway, gaming has factored heavily in my life since the beginning.

Anyway long story short, this has led to, for a long time, me wanting to leave some kind of legacy behind me in the form of a trail of beaten-up old video-games. Often this takes the form of just wanting to curate out a collection (physical or unholy--I mean digital) that I can leave behind in some state of completion, but on top of that it comes as me wanting to sit down and truly spend time with the games that are most important to my history over the course of my lifetime.

This has led to me making innumerable 'systems' for approaching the task of having a humongous backlog of video-games (some might say longer than is completable than anyone in a life time, and I recognize this) and often these systems get replaced or revised for being inadequate in some way. The latest no-thought system on my part was the Fuzzy Gaming Quest, in which the goal was basically to play through games starting from the beginning of time and blasting through at hyper-speed, with the intention of covering as much ground in order to induce familiarity as fast as possible with arcade games from an era I've rarely played (but longed for in my old man's soul).

This was working but I quickly ran into a snag (after recording about 250 videos 😥): I wasn't spending as much time with individual games as I'd like by any means. On one hand, I was backlogging games I was enjoying just to get them out of the way and continue the progress. On the other, sometimes I wasn't sure how much time you'd even spend with a game to consider yourself familiarized enough to rank it in some way, without necessarily having to beat everything (who has the time?). Not to mention arcade games that have no viable ending for the regular player (Pac-Man, Galaga, etc).

So anyway all this is leading up to me explaining the next iteration of the Fuzzy Gaming Quest. Here's a picture!

What you're looking at is essentially a 7 day scoreboard for various games that I selected out as important during my previous pass through the 70s and most of the 80s. These are all games I wanted to play more of or possibly log in a list.

7 days is my naive answer to how long I think would be good to spend on a game, in order to get competent enough at it to get a decent score and/or feel you've experienced your average game enough to go ahead and put it somewhere in a list. It might seem like overkill for a simple arcade game (though I'd argue you need to play repeatedly and give your brain time to absorb it to get the true experience), and it may seem like underkill for an RPG (though I'd argue that most RPGs probably aren't changing much more if you've been playing for 7 days already, but this doesn't forbid from continuing to play if I choose to), but this is my naive and probably flawed answer, anyway.

This is meant to serve the purpose of: - Progressing reasonably fast (notice this is a list of basically banger games everyone has heard of, I will probably only include a few games here or there that are lesser known that I just happen to like--I'll also be avoiding some consoles intentionally that I don't particularly like (like the Odyssey 2, sorry, it's my list though--convince me otherwise if you like)) - Filtering into some kind of "best of" list (if I don't even want to play it for 7 days (in brief sessions), it must not be very good after all and doesn't deserve to be on any best of list I would leave behind me--games that I do get through the 7 days I should understand enough to rank competently enough to make myself happy) - Giving me an excuse to spend more time on the games that really matter to me, today, in case I get hit by a bus tomorrow - Giving me a target for when I'm able to comfortably say I've experienced a game enough and don't need to feel bad about moving on if I want to but still haven't "beat it," and also leaving room for playing more if I like (I can sort it, take it off the board, but finish it anyway on the DL) (Also, if I do beat it, I can stop there with the board) - Satisfying whatever kind of ADHD thing I have going on by allowing me to keep a variety of games on rotation for some amount of time and not just getting stuck behind one game at a time - Breaking game experiences down over multiple days to allow a longer time to think about them and grow accustomed to them, also to allow me to fit them into my busy schedule by playing Space Invaders on the toilet for ~10 minutes - To leave behind a journal of high scores or information about how far I got in various games as I plod on

So, you may (rightly) ask: What's the point of all this? Why can't I just play games that I like and call it a day?

Well my first answer would be, "shut up I know you're right I just can't, my brain is broken," but my second answer, the one I would say aloud, might be that I really have always wanted to take a targeted approach to going through all of game history and that's what this is in service of.

I have no false expectations about getting all the way through game history up to now in one lifetime, at least not without sacrificing a lot of games in the process. I definitely won't ever get to the point where I'm always keeping up with contemporary games. It's lucky for me that I mostly fell out of favor with games around 2011 for various reasons, but really it had been a steady decline of interest since about 2005 or so. I have a shorter-hand target, but if I were to ever reach it, I'd like to keep going on, even if it means playing PS4 games in 2061 when I'm almost as old as my dad is now.

Anyway, your second question (and wow, if you made it this far) might be: "so what does this mean for your tumblr, which I care about intimately after seeing 20 posts, and was gutted when you temporarily took a break, and have been looking for meaning in my life ever since?"

Well, true believer, if you want I might post my 7 day high-score for various arcade games or something along with some pictures or videos of high points of the game (when I get to games complicated enough to have cool art). I haven't decided yet. I'm open to suggestions! I'd love to see people try to (and succeed!) at beating my scores (I'd feel like I influenced someone into maybe playing some old, great game they wouldn't have before deciding to just then).

If nothing else I hope it was interesting to see my thought process about this stuff.

If that's not true, I hope you were entertained by a write up of someone's journey ever deeper into video-game delirium.

And yes, I will get frustrated with the system and change it again in approximately a month.

(2) if I don’t go to this school, I’ll have to keep going to my home school. That place is a nightmare. That highschool breaks everyone. So many people have either commited suicide or are seriously thinking about it, and I don’t want to. I know this is way too much to ask, but may I please have some advice?

Okay so, first I’d like to say that I COMPLETELY understand what you’re feeling. I made my blog in January, but it took me a month and a half to get the courage to actually start posting my writing here. Its so scary, opening yourself up to rejection and criticism like that (especially when it means getting/not getting accepted into a school.)

Hell, it was such a dramatic experience applying for Saeran Zine, let alone a school. I kept finding flaw in everything I wrote, I found it either boring or melodramatic, and I kept reading my friends’ work and comparing myself and loathing my writing even more. Even when I got in, I kept raining on my own damn parade with thoughts like “I only got in because those friends of mine didn’t apply.” Like lmao I’M NEVER HAPPY with my stuff, no matter how many acceptance emails or notes I get, I’ll always find flaw in it or think of something I could have written to make it better

Then I read this one quote, which went something like, “You will never be satisfied with your art because art is never complete.”

The person who wrote this quote was talking about paintings and drawings, but it applies to writing, too. No matter how many times I write and re-write stuff, a few weeks later I’ll come back to it and think, “Damn I could have done this differently.”

So I guess this is my first advice; don’t worry about not finding your work perfect, because unless your ego Is This Huge, you won’t!! Finding it good or acceptable is a journey itself, but you’ll get there the more you write and post!

My second advice I guess is the Ten Second Of Bravery. All you need is ten seconds of “FUCK IT IMMA DO IT” to hit send, submit, post, email, etc. Just ten seconds rid of self-doubt and anxiety, that’s all you need. You can hate your work and everything later, but it’s done, its out there, and that’s all that matters.

Loving your work (or at least in my case, not hating it as much) is a slow process. The more I post, the more confident I become. That fear of posting and showcasing your work does go away the more you do it. I recently applied to something and I didn’t even think twice about it, whereas in Saeran Zine, I spent DAYS filling out the application, then quitting, then filling it out again, then closing the tab because I felt I wasn’t good enough.

So I think you should start small! Post a few things here on tumblr, just to get comfortable with the idea of other people reading your stuff!

Stephen King, the Literal King Of Writing And My Heart, said something that changed my life lol. Like I used to write my first draft and then compare it to other people’s finished products, thinking that my first draft had to be already perfect. And when I heard Stephen King saying that first drafts are NEVER good, it changed my life lol. He said to just get your ideas out, as messily as you possibly can, just to get the shape of the story. Once you see the shape, you can begin to outline and sculpt it in your 2nd, 3rd or even 4th draft. So don’t be afraid of writing badly on your first draft, even Stephen King does it!! You can always go back and rewrite everything later, it doesn’t have to be perfect the first time through!

And I think the last thing I wanna say is that you shouldn’t trust your own judgement that much when it comes to your writing. Our writing always seems predictable and boring to us, of course, we wrote it! We went over the scenes and dialogue a thousand times in our head, so the element of surprise is gone. That’s why its always good to have a readers or betas to give us pointers! Not saying that you should 100% only trust someone else, but think of it like a maze; you are in the maze, your point of view is limited to whats in front of you, so its hard to see the right path, so you need a bird’s POV to guide you through it most times! (This is also a quote I read once but I’m so bad at wording things. And I dare call myself a writer? smh)

I don’t know if these made too much sense, but I hope some of it helped! It’s unfortunately very common for us content creators to love our work. Just remember that you are creating something from nothing, its very hard to do and it takes a lot of effort, and you should take a look back at it and feel proud of what you’ve accomplished, no matter how small the fic or poem or headcanon is.

Chances are, you are A LOT better than you think, so please don’t let self-doubt and anxiety keep you from going to that school and following your dreams!

In the process of binge watching the Andy Warhol Diaries.

One of my favorite artists, so I'm thrilled that Netflix has decided to make a docuseries on him.

Who he was, in a way, has inspired me, to be who I am artisticly, and person wise. He inspired me to embrace my asexual life for the most part. That there is more to life than sex, that my low libido was okay. To not be turned on by my partners 24/7....that I'd honestly be more content on my own, doing whatever solo, and peacefully...and finding a sort of quiet art in a sense to it. I love doing things differently from the social norm.

Post and than ghost.

I'm kind of the queen ghost when it comes to social media these days. I honestly don't care to see what people have to say or share. I kinda just pop in, do my little updates, my little posts, share whatever and than disappear again till God knows when, and repeat. I don't scroll anymore, I hardly ever really respond. I put my two sense in with a like or a repost and I call it satisfying and keep moving forward.

Also the perks to posting and ghosting is unless it's a normal function of a response from someone like in the form of a message, you don't really see what people have to say in response to your input...so many notifications, I'm too lazy to scroll...time keeps moving and rather I'm tagged in something becomes irrelevant because I never see it, just don't care enough.

Oh lordy where am I going with this? I'm rambling again, I'm not even drunk. Slept all day just about when I got home from work and after tending to my new little babies, I can't wait for them to grow and to grow BIG.

I love this new adventure I'm setting out on.

I love taking care of something that is such minimal to literal no maintenance...why can't a child be like a succulent? Haha.

Okay hit a road block of what to share or say...not really good at these diary type of posts, sometimes I don't even know what to share with y'all, outside of expressing myself through the form of poetry.

Speaking of poetry, shout out to my current muse and the roller-coaster of a mood that constantly tears at my spirit and inspires me. Some days I'm alive, some days I'm dying, some days I'm really turned on and some days I wish they were just physically with me. But right now I'm content. Right now I'm happy. Where the universe takes me, I pray they tag along, pull me back from the edge but than push me into the pool. Give me strength but the respect of picking my battles. Dreams instead of nightmares.

Maybe I'll figure out what love really is.

Maybe I already have. Maybe.

Only the Universe knows my real journey.

All I know is right now....I want to buy more succulents. Haha.
