@hibiscusly ‘s friends fundraiser for @Saed_Mgharee which you can dough-Nate to at bit.ly/SaedFund it is more urgent than ever because it is getting harder to cross the boarders and they are about halfway to their initial emergency goal that is for their evacuation!
“With a large number of people opting to vote “uncommitted” or “gah-zah” (in Illinois) in the primaries, I would like to draw your attention to @saed_mgharee’s Goh-Fuhnd-Me camp-pain that aims to provide assistance in evacuating Saed and his family from Gah-zah. Your dough-nation can make a significant difference in helping Saed and his family escape. A simple repost and dough-nation goes an exceptionally long way. You can also view these slides and post on your own platforms at bit.ly/Posts4Saed. The link to Saed’s Goh-fuhnd-me ( bit.ly/SaedFund ) can be found in my bio. Thank you for considering this cause!”

Slide 1:
Help @saed_mgharee and his family evacuate from Gah-zah
A quote from Saed’s interview for arfi:
“From now on, Saed Mgharee dreams of leaving Gah-zah with his family. Even if it means taking the risk of never coming back. ‘I want to go back to work with my clients. I want a normal life. I want to be safe with my family.’ But bringing out six people costs $30,000 to pay to the Egyptian authorities, and now without income, Saed Mgharee can only place his hopes in international generosity. He launched a campaign on [Goh-Fuhnd-Me].”
Slide 2:
50% of the required amount is needed to evacuate.
Saed’s Goh-Fuhnd-Me camp-pain to evacuate him and his family has been running for about two months and has successfully raised €12,039, which is equivalent to 40% of the required amount.
The total goal of the camp-pain is to raise enough funds to cover the cost of applying for passage, which is estimated to be between $5000-$6500 per person, as well as other expenses that they will incur after leaving.
The amount raised so far is also 21% of the total goal.
Slide 3:
As of March 5, 2023, the Goh-Fuhnd-Me is now at €12,520. cost of applying for passage: $5000-$6500 per person
Slide 4:
We need to increase the amount raised per week to meet his target. The situation is critical, and your help is greatly appreciated.
I urge you to scan the QR code by taking a screenshot or clicking on the ellipses (...) on this post to visit Saed's Goh-Fuhnd-Me campaign. The situation is critical, and your help is greatly appreciated.
You are welcome to share the Goh-Fuhnd-Me link with anyone you think might be interested, and please feel free to take a screenshot of this post to share it as well.
Although we have raised 5% more in the last week, we still have a long way to go to reach our goal.
Slide 5:
Thank you!
Thank you to everyone who has supported this camp-pain by sharing it with others.
Sharing the camp-pain with people who can donate or spread the word on social media has been particularly helpful in reaching a wider audience.
Scan QR to read more and donate.
Images have a light mint green background with teal font. Each slide has a black and white bitly QR code. Slide one has a cutout photo of Saed and his siblings, Saeda (sister); Sameer (brother); Reham (sister). Saeda and Reham are holding bouquets of flowers. End Image Description.]

To answer your Byler question: it’s about the slow burn of it all and about the audience that the story will reach. I don’t really know what you mean by “with gay rep the way it is now” because the state of gay rep rn is just two characters getting together after a few episodes of no buildup. Regardless of Will and Mike being white (which I’m going to assume is what you’re getting at), there are very few modern gay stories out there that spend this long on a slow build and the careful construction of a seasons-long sexuality arc. That is what would make Byler so unique if it ever becomes canon, compounded by the fact that ST is the most mainstream of mainstream shows. This isn’t Heartstopper or Schitt’s Creek or another gay show whose audience is limited because it’s targeted specifically to gay people — Everyone and their mother watches it, and that means that everyone will end up witnessing Byler’s story if it happens. That is what would make this special and groundbreaking.
Of course, no one should be dismissing the importance of Robin as a character on her own, and lesbophobes claiming that Robin and Vickie mean nothing is unfair, but your point about it being the other way around (aka Byler meaning nothing Vickie and Robin as a couple) doesn’t make any sense, as Rovickie has had barely had 5 minutes of screen time together compared to the way Byler has been built up since S1. Even Robin and Nancy got more screen time than them, hence Rovickie’s complete lack of popularity. Stranger Things had the opportunity to make Vickie important in s4 and chose not to do it. It’s no different than any other show, where as you said, the wlw couple is just in the background. It’s nice that ST included a love interest for Robin, but it would have been more meaningful if she was actually a character in her own right.
(And Robin and Vickie are also white, btw.)
okay.
first, i would like you to watch more gay shows, because from the sounds of it you are not very well versed. but that’s okay!
second, i mentioned will and mike are white because while there are a lot of white mlm ships around nowadays, that number obviously drops with gay characters of colour, and i wanted to be clear i was taking that into consideration.
third, and i presume this is where our opinions majorly differ, i don’t think will’s sexuality arc has been handled as well as it could have been. and i think if the majority of the audience is unable to recognise that mike is going through a sexuality arc, then byler won’t be recognised as a slowburn anyway.
fourth, other shows have been popular and included gay characters and couples. and people are already calling stranger things a “gay show” because they have one lesbian and one gay character. though i think it’s very sweet that you think people, at the bare minimum, watching byler happen will make byler groundbreaking. a ship isn’t groundbreaking just because it’s been seen by a certain amount of people.
now, you seem… riled by my comparison of rockie to byler lmao. i think you misunderstood my tags. so i suppose there’s a few things to address with this too lol.
so. i very very much so doubt byler has been built from s1, because the duffers didn’t plan past s1. we were never going to see those characters again. the duffers are largely making this shit up as they go along.
a lot of bylers i’ve seen on tumblr seem to have this… obsession with making stranger things the mike and will show, and it just isn’t. and i think they’re doing a disservice to the characters and the ship by imagining this importance.
and i don’t think rockie not having a main part is a bad thing. i want my gay characters to exist past their sexuality. rockie isn’t groundbreaking! so many ships have come before it lmao. but it doesn’t need to be groundbreaking. i’m okay with vickie being introduced this season as her love interest, and robin having a life and arc outside of vickie. that’s how most side romances go. that’s what happened with dustin and suzie! if vickie receives no time at all in s5 and rockie end up together off screen, then yes, obviously i’ll be annoyed at the lack of time given to them. but that’s a problem for future me.
my point was rockie having their moment, and dating, and us watching it throughout s5 would mean more to me than byler happening. not that everyone shouldn’t care about byler rep lmao.
(and i know rockie are white, babe, but wlw shows are being cancelled regardless of if they’re both white)

If you ever decide to drop og obey me but want to feel the gap while you fully transition between games, I would like to recommend Limbus company! It's dark fantasy gacha with a gamplay kind of similar to darkest dungeon. Altough the combat system can be a little hard to get the hang of, it's pretty rewarding as you fight more!
The main cast is based off from classic literature: Metamorphosis, Moby Dick, Dream of the red chamber... the Mc is mamed Dante and is based form the Divina comedia (and a comedy it is with how darkly funny and bastard all the characters interactions are with each others!) It's kind of a niche target audience, but I have been having fun with it. You will love the bug guy!
The dailies are basically just fighting, so they are quite easy to fulfil. Although I have yet to find how to get the points for the gacha that aren't from advancing with the story or buying, the gacha isn't that bad; my luck is terrible, I tell you. I have to always reach 76-80 pull on both guaranteed and 50/50 in Genshin to get the five star! Even on my way to build pity, I only pull onr 4 star per tenfold. But in Limbus, I pulled the equivalent of three 5 stars in two days. And since it's relatively new, it won't overwhelm you with the amount of cards.
The only problem I would say it has, is that you will probably need to use the steam version for PC/Laptop if you don't have a good phone/tablet. I tried to run it with the same tablet I play Twisted, but it always crashed after trying to load the tutorial battle.
Sorry if this message bothers you! You can delete it if so, but your poll made me remember the reasons of why I left Obey me! Similar to you, how tough it was to keep up with the dailies and grinding in general, but I was too attached/needed something to do the ex/change before taking my leave. I felt better almost immediately and soon realised everything felt more like a chore rather than something I wanted to play.
Hey! Thank you so much for your insight!
I am just in a big transition mood tbh. I already dropped one of my genshin accounts since I rarely play on it any more and now just do the dailies on EU which I can enjoy with friends too, but it's just waiting out until the update now ^^'
And yeah, I'll definitely drop the OG Obey me. Not like I will delete it, but I just won't nurse it anymore with my time unless they decide to go back and make it an actual, separate game. I am just so disappointed at how they are handling it now. And I was so surprised how many people chose the option that they only play the OG game...
Nevertheless, I do want my games to immerse me (and get my mind off things for a while) and this grinding or just doing dailies is just not doing it for me anymore, so thank you for your input! I'll keep it in mind though not sure if I want to find something else or just go with the most obvious option for me personally: Honkai Star Rail.
IDK if that will catch my attention as much as Genshin did, but with friends that play it and my fav content creators also making videos about it and stuff, it seems logically for me to at least check it out. Either way, there won't be big changes coming soon, though maybe I can find some time this weekend to check out some games I wanted to play and see if something catches my eye, so thanks for your suggestion ♥ I hope you continue to have a lot of fun with Limbus Company!

what's your opinion on season 4 of arrested development?
oh boy! you’ve just said the magic words that make me start acting insane. well anyway to answer your question that depends on if you mean the REAL season 4 or that godawful remix netflix displays by default. the REAL season 4 is perhaps the most criminally underrated season of television to ever exist. the remix on the other hand is just a crime against humanity. but like. watching season 4 for the first time is UNPARALLELED. it starts off kind of slow and it builds up so beautifully and by the time you reach episode 11 you’re like OH MY GOD and then it ends on Thee perfect note. and the remix literally got rid of everything that made it so good. i watched the show for the first time like maybe a month before they did the remix and when i got to the remix in my first rewatch i was like Um. this is NOT my beautiful arrested development season 4. so i watched it that one time and i watched it one other time after that(also in 2018) to see if it still sucked and it did. so i have never come back to it since. i have rewatched the show a double-digit number of times now and each time i pretend i do not see it while i navigate to “trailers and more” to get to the original cut. actually kind of excited about netflix removing arrested development from their platform now that i think about it because hopefully that means the end of that remix FOREVER.
but anyway the original cut. the REAL season 4. i think about it every day of my life and i’m not kidding. i think people thought it was bad because they are stupid and they didn’t get it. didn’t understand the nonlinear format. didn’t like that the episodes were longer than 22 minutes. didn’t deserve to be alive. who said that. Um but yeah the thing is season 4 was ALWAYS going to be in a different format than the first three. there are quotes from hurwitz et al going back FOREVER about how they’d taken that format as far as it could go. and the way that they did it was PERFECT and you could tell they had put so much thought into it and people just. Are stupid and just don’t get it really is the only way to put it. the original 3 seasons were good in a way that gave them a near-universal appeal and i think a lot of people watched them and assumed they were the target audience when really they weren’t and the target audience was Me Specifically. and then people watched season 4 and they were like oh this isn’t what i’m used to and therefore it is Bad. but the thing is arrested development has ALWAYS done things that haven’t been done before. people forgot about this because it was 2013 and not 2003 but arrested development laid the groundwork for SO MANY shows that came afterwards. but arrested development was NEVER a typical sitcom. it was not typical in its format when it first aired in 2003 and the thing is. and this is a little ironic actually considering how its original run paved the way for so many of the sitcoms that were airing in 2013. the format it aired in in 2003 WAS typical for sitcoms by 2013. like OF COURSE it was not going to be typical in 2013 either! OF COURSE they were going to do something different this time around! i am wording this so poorly i know but hopefully you get what i mean. not to mention the extremely obvious ~6 years that had gone by since the last time they’d filmed. season 4 was exactly how it needed to be and it was brilliant.
and then like. That remix. i still to this day do not understand why they felt the need to do that and i never will. i guess maybe they thought, hey, it’s been 5 years since our last season, should we maybe do something drastic to drum up headlines ahead of season 5? or maybe it was like. Oh you people thought season 4 was bad huh? well i’ll show you just how bad season 4 can be. but all they did was rearrange the footage that they already had, the footage written and filmed for the story told in its nonlinear version, into something that had no reason to exist. did they add in previously unseen scenes? yes, they did, but the problem with those scenes is that there’s a reason they were left on the cutting room floor the first time around. and for the love of christ they cut out scenes too! the “homo much” speech for crying out loud! “bad example…if you were ashamed of being in love with a man, suddenly discovered these new feelings, something that you only allowed to happen because you thought he was gay and you were hoping to exact revenge, but then you found out he was straight, then you wanted to get even, so maybe you put a mask on someone and then tried to convince yourself that the sex you were about to have was with yourself, but it turned out to be him, and all you ended up doing was proving that your feelings were real…then i might say something like, homo much?” i own that monologue on a tshirt because i am apeshit batshit crazy and that’s literally blorbo from my fucking shows. THIS IS WHAT THEY TOOK FROM YOU! and for what? an extra line or two from johnny bark? not worth it! there was no reason for it! there was no reason for any of it! like seriously who authorized this and how can we ensure their demise is as painful as possible. just kidding. But yeah.

I provide all types of local seo services, you can contact me
Local SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is essential for businesses, especially those with a physical presence or serving a specific geographic area. Here are several reasons why your business needs local SEO:
1/Increased Online Visibility: Local SEO helps your business appear in local search results when potential customers are looking for products or services in your area. This increased visibility can lead to more website traffic, phone calls, and foot traffic to your physical location.
2/Targeted Traffic: Local SEO allows you to target specific geographic areas and demographics, ensuring that your business is seen by the right audience. This helps you reach potential customers who are more likely to convert.
3/Competitive Advantage: When your competitors are optimizing for local search and you're not, you're at a significant disadvantage. Local SEO helps level the playing field and allows smaller businesses to compete with larger ones.
4/Mobile Users: With the proliferation of mobile devices, many people use their smartphones to search for local businesses. Local SEO ensures that your business shows up in mobile search results, attracting customers on the go.
5/Improved Trust and Credibility: Businesses that appear in local search results are often perceived as more credible and trustworthy. Local SEO can help you build a positive online reputation, including customer reviews and ratings, which can influence potential customers.
6/Google My Business (GMB): Optimizing your Google My Business listing is a crucial part of local SEO. A well-optimized GMB profile can significantly improve your online visibility and provide valuable information to potential customers.
7/Cost-Effective Marketing: Local SEO can be cost-effective compared to traditional advertising methods. It allows you to reach potential customers who are actively searching for your products or services, reducing wastage of marketing dollars.
8/Insightful Analytics: Local SEO tools provide valuable insights into your online performance, including the number of clicks, impressions, and user behavior. This data can help you refine your marketing strategies.
9/Voice Search Optimization: With the rise of voice-activated virtual assistants like Siri and Google Assistant, local SEO becomes even more critical. People often use voice search to find local businesses, so optimizing for this can help your business get discovered.
In summary, local SEO is crucial for any business looking to attract customers in a specific geographic area. It not only increases your online visibility but also helps you build trust and credibility with potential customers, ultimately leading to more conversions and revenue for your business.

6 ChatGPT Prompts To Validate A Business Idea
Tumblr media
6 ChatGPT Prompts To Validate A Business Idea Many entrepreneurs have many ideas according to their business and they keep thinking of new ideas from time to time. Types of insight can never stop thinking about smart solutions, inventions, and new products or services for their existing business. Train ChatGPT to sense-check each idea, so you can sort those incredible must-do ideas from the ones that should be left well alone. Use these 5 prompts to help you do that. Table of Contents⤵️
1. Use ChatGPT to validate your business idea
1.1 Figure out your unfair advantage
1.2 Understand your perfect customer
1.3 Assess demand for your idea
1.4 Collect feedback
1.5 Make your testing plan
2. Best ChatGPT Prompts for Busines
2.1 ChatGPT Prompts for Finding Business Ideas
3. Validate your business idea with ChatGPT prompts
Use ChatGPT to validate your business idea
Figure out your unfair advantage
If you’re going to start a new business, there should be a clear reason why. Why are you specifically best placed to begin this particular venture? Ideally, you hit upon a concept that is multiplied by your unique intersection of skills, networks, and interests. Once you get that, no one can compete with you. If there isn’t a clear reason for you to start a business, maybe it’s not the idea for you.
Ask ChatGPT for an assessment of synergy with this prompt. Copy and paste straight in and complete the gaps: “I’m thinking of starting a business that [describe what this business does] and I want to understand my unique strengths in making it a success. I have experience in [describe your experience] and expertise in [describe your expertise]. I have access to people who [describe your network]. Can you give me the reasons why this will and won’t be a success based on my specific situation?”
Understand your perfect customer
Trying to sell to everyone won’t get you anywhere good. Selling to one very specific person, however, resonating with their world and turning them into a raving fan, will bring you more of the same. But first, you need to define them, make sure your idea actually solves their problems, and find out what action they are already taking. Get crystal clear on your perfect customer to unlock validation of your idea and see a clear plan to reach them. Now that ChatGPT knows about your business, prompt it for customer insights.
Here’s the prompt: “Now you know what business I want to start, can you suggest who might be the ideal customer for this business? Can you describe their demographics and explain what problems they might have, that my business might solve. Please rank these problems in order, starting with the most important thing to them. Next, tell me what products or services they are currently using to solve these problems.”
Assess demand for your idea
So you have your idea and a feeling you could make it a success. Your customer profile is nailed on and you feel confident that they have problems that your idea solves better than what already exists. Next, you need to check that your ideal customer exists and frame your idea in a way that resonates. Make sure there are compelling reasons why that person would want to buy that product. Make sure there’s enough demand in the entire market, make sure you’re not joining a declining industry after the big gains have already been made.
Here’s the prompt to further the conversation. “Can you give me 3 main reasons why someone would want to buy my product? Next, estimate how many people in [location, if applicable] could be in my target audience, and tell me the size of this market and its likely growth over the next five years. Please also include any adjacent markets I could explore.”
Collect feedback
Everything so far has been theory, now is where you get some practice. Take these value propositions to your ideal customer and see if they like them. Hear their concerns, understand what excites them, and refine your offering from there. Use the intel to decide if this is a mountain you want to climb, and how profitable this route might be. Go beyond friends and family to find those who match your ideal customer profile and will give their honest opinion.
Prompt ChatGPT to set you on this path. “Create a survey for my potential audience. Start by giving a description of my business and who it’s for, to set the scene. For the first question, create three compelling value propositions that address how my business solves a problem for them, and ask which value proposition most resonates. Next, ask how likely they would be to buy, and then ask what this new concept would need to do to win their business. Finally, give me options on how I collect this feedback from my target audience.”
Make your testing plan
Survey responses will give you an idea of what people might want and how likely they would be to buy, but having something they can actually test out is the next step to validating your business idea. Ideally, you do this without incurring huge costs or hassle. Get ChatGPT’s opinion on what this could be, based on what it knows so far.
“How do I create a minimum viable product (MVP) or prototype, to test my business idea with real users and gather their insights? Include information such as how much this might cost and the steps to take to make it happen. Include what metrics I should look out for to know if my idea is worth pursuing.”
Best ChatGPT Prompts for Business
Below is a list of advanced and helpful ChatGPT prompts for business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs. These prompts cover various aspects of business, including generating ideas, invoicing, communication, planning, and much more.

do ALL the tgm asks <3
Haha. Okay *cracks knuckles* here we go.
1. Favorite dagger duckling
B.O.B and Phoenix - I’m cheating and having two because it’s my ask and I can.
Phoenix: I’m dead dickhead.
Bob: See you in the afterlife Bagman.
How could you not love them?
2. Favorite line
Tumblr media
To take that line, which is so prevalent in pop culture, and turn it into a moment that shows how grief changes over time, how it becomes a lasting connection to a loved one, and a reminder that we love and miss them is beautiful.
3. Favorite scene
The entire Darkstar sequence is not only stunning to look at, surprisingly emotional and thrilling, but it also does a pitch-perfect job of introducing who Mav is as a character to a new audience, as well as showing the existing audience how Mav is still Mav.
"Just a little push"
4. Scene that made you cry the most
My cry count at this film is 7
The Darkstar “Talk to me Goose”
Mav watching Rooster through the bar window
Ice/Mav meeting. “It’s time to let go.”
Iceman’s funeral
The moment Mav enters the bar to say goodbye to Penny, until the mission launch and his goodbye to Hondo
“Dagger one is hit”
Mav: Thank you for saving my life. Rooster: It’s what my dad would have done
Out of those, I think the one that really gets me every time and that I can cry about just thinking about is,
Tumblr media
Gif by @ethanhunt
And the reason for that, as I have said elsewhere and I will be a broken record about, is that Rooster is, of course, talking about Goose... but he’s also talking about Mav. Plus, it’s tears of happiness because they’re family again.
5. Scene that made you laugh the most
Tumblr media
Gif by @ethanhunt
You’re not expecting it on the first viewing, and it was such a fantastic way of breaking the tension because you’re relieved Rooster is okay, and they’re finally talking.
6. Underrated moment
So I want to highlight this moment between Hondo and Admiral Cain because it shows why Mav and Hondo are friends.
My other underrated moment is when Mav is in the bar watching Penny and Amelia. He’s on the outside looking in and you can see how much he craves to have that kind of life.
7. Favorite song from the soundtrack
The Man, The Legend/Touchdown
8. Favorite character
Let's take Mav being a favorite as a given. So my non-MAV favorite is Penny. God, she’s fabulous and every time I watch the movie I love her more and more. That Oprah Winfrey gif probably sums up my feelings about her best: "She is … the mother I never had. She is … the sister everybody would want. She is the friend that everybody deserves. I don't know a better person. "
Jennifer Connelly does such an excellent job hinting at how Penny is feeling internally and the things she wants to say but can’t, the conflict that comes with loving someone like Pete.
9. Favorite flying sequence
Maverick completing the course in 2:15. It’s thrilling every single time. And to see Mav from behind in the F-18 as he’s flying is such a small detail, but it gives it so much more intensity and puts you right in there. The supporting cast do a fantastic job of reacting in character. The more I watch the movie, the more I start to well up as Mav reaches the target, with the swell of the music and the look on Cyclone’s face. And Rooster too, watching with some pride and wondering how Mav is able to fly like that and how he can to.
10. Favorite hug
Tumblr media
No dialogue needed, the hug says everything. Tom and Jennifer do a fantastic job of imbuing that relationship with so much love, respect and unspoken history.
11. A fan theory, that you maybe don’t subscribe to, but you find neat.
Shipping wise, Hangman and Rooster are ex-lovers. I don’t ship them personally, but I can totally see why people read there relationship that way.
A fan theory I can see, but don’t subscribe to is that the movie is a death dream, as mentioned in this article, “I’m sure you’ve heard the popular theory that Maverick died in the opening Darkstar sequence, making the rest of the movie a death dream.”
Which fits with an observation from this article. “There’s a ghostlike quality to Maverick in that scene and others — in that early bar scene, where the kids almost see past him, and then later, when he shows up in his Navy whites to say bye to Jennifer Connelly. He feels like a ghost.”
Personally, if any part were to be a death dream I think it would be after dagger one is hit.
12. Favorite shot
Gif by @indifferentvincent
Tumblr media
And this from @rochc93 is why I love Tumblr because it’s as if you can all read my mind

char's ao3 crashcourse for tumblr fic writers
hello and welcome to char's ao3 crash course for tumblr fic writers. the main target audience for this post is the gorgeous sav of @faeology but instead of fighting with the tumblr dm system, i figured why not just make it a post that i can format a little nicer! the images won't have alt id's but i will do my best to describe the steps so that the images help, but aren't required!
so, you've posted a fic to tumblr (and maybe wattpad) and want to post it on archive of our own (ao3) to reach a broader audience. but the formatting and site is a little intimidating to jump into, which is okay! the site has no algorithm because it's an archive. i can make another post on how to search for fics if you need a hand, but for now i'll only explain what is required to be able to post your fic to make it super easy for people to come across it
if you don't already have an account, you'll need to press "get invited" and wait for an email to make your account. depending on how much traffic is moving through, it may take a little bit to get the email. but don't stress, you will get it.
once you're in and logged in, go to the top right of the site and click post. a drop down will come up with either "new work" or "import work"
Tumblr media
you can import your fic, but i don't because i write outside of tumblr and therefore am already copying and pasting the work. you will likely need to adjust some formatting the post if you import it, but if you're okay with that, then feel free! just paste the url into the URLs box
Tumblr media
for the rest of this post, i'm going to explain the steps of "new work", though some steps overlap
so once you've clicked on new post you're faced with lots of sections of settings, starting with tags
Tumblr media
within rating there is 5 categories: "not rated", "general audiences", "teen and up audiences", "mature" and "explicit". please rate your fics. it helps with filtering. think of the ratings like movie ratings. if you aren't sure what one means, there is a post explaining them, and i can find it if people need it!
next is archive warnings: "choose not to use an archive warning" (ao3 describes this one as "Use this if you don't want to warn for anything. You may also choose this option if you don't know what you should warn for; if you don't like warning for certain topics or warnings in general; if you want to avoid some spoilers, but not others; etc."), "graphic depictions of violence", "major character death", "no archive warnings apply", "rape/non-con" and "underage". once again, please use this correctly. select all that apply, some people rely on these for filtering
fandoms is pretty self explanatory. just tag the fandom. when you type in the fandom, a drop down of suggestions will appear, make sure you select the right one to help people find your fic in the fandom
with categories, this section is optional but is really important for reader insert/ship fics, because they denote the genders within the relationship. the information of this section from ao3 is:
"here are 6 categories of works on the Archive. While here we have given an interpretation of the abbreviations, the exact definitions of these vary from fandom to fandom and fan to fan; use whichever you feel are applicable, or else none: F/F - Female/Female relationships F/M - Female/Male relationships Gen - General: no romantic or sexual relationships, or relationships which are not the main focus of the work M/M - Male/Male relationships Multi - More than one kind of relationship, or a relationship with multiple partners Other - Other relationships"
for relationships, you need to know the difference between "character/character" and "character & character". the former is a ship or romantic relationship, the latter is platonic or familial. do not get them confused with familial to save yourself being found by the wrong people
when adding characters only tag the characters that are actually in the fic. think tumblr's tag system. don't tag people that aren't there like you wouldn't add an unrelated tag to a post (you won't get reported as spam there but you will piss people off)
finally is additional tags. use this to tag the fic type (fluff, angst, hurt/comfort etc), and also additional warnings that aren't covered in the check boxes above. you can also add things like "tommy and wilbur are princes and technoblade is a feral god that philza picked up from the woods" which is your own rambles and also additional info about the fic or a half joking summary (that is an actual tag from one of my favourite fics that breaks my heart every time i read it. it's beautiful). it is also very common to put your "no beta we die like [character]" tag here
NEXT! the preface section
Tumblr media
here you add the fic title, the fic summary, and tick whether you have notes at the beginning and/or end. those are your authors notes and will give you either one or two new boxes to add your notes to (ignore the pseuds box. if you're new you will only have the one username appear.)
then there is the associations box
Tumblr media
here you are required to set the language of your fic, whatever that may be. you can also tick if your fic has multiple chapters, is a part of a series, or was published on a different date (i usually end up using this box because i forget to post my fic on ao3 for a coupe of weeks lmao)
for most people, the privacy section isn't used but it's important to know what it all means, just in case
Tumblr media
registered users are people who have verified their accounts, meaning only people who are logged in will be able to read your fic. comment moderation is what it sounds like, you have to manually post a comment publicly. then you can choose who can leave comments
finally the meat of your fic, the work text
Tumblr media
by default, it will be set to HTML, and unless you know how to use HTML to format a fic, switch over to rich text (or if, like me, you can't be bothered coding the fic you just put all your brain power into posting)
rich text will give you the following options:
Tumblr media
most of which are self-explanatory, so the only one i will over is the line next to the quotation mark. i use image dividers when posting on tumblr, and while i can also do that on ao3, it can fuck with the formatting. so that line inserts a nice little divider that will fit the formatting regardless of whether the reader is on desktop or mobile!
then you can press post and you're good to go! the fic goes live and is ready for the world of ao3 to read! you can also press preview to check the formatting is just how you like, but sometimes you just have to say "fuck it, we ball" and post the fic lmao
if you have any questions feel free to ask! hopefully i have made this all super clear, but if you need clarification i am happy to rephrase to help you out!

30 years of being me!
Turning 30 this month so for every year I've been alive I want to try and share something I learned along the way. Feel free to disagree and share your own thoughts as well.
1 - You don't always know why you like or dislike something because you don't always know yourself as much as you think you do.
2 - There is a difference between liking someone as a character and liking someone as a person.
3 - The person you like doesn't owe you their affection, attention, or appreciation just because you like them.
4- Viewing yourself as a good person and actually doing good things are different things.
5 - People who act like they are always right can in fact not be always right. Similarly, just because a majority of people agree on one thing doesn't mean they are necessarly right, it just means they found many people that agree with them.
6 - As long as you're not hurting anyone, you should be free to believe and live however you want.
7 - Being good at something doesn't make you better than someone.
8 - Just because you like something doesn't make it good, and just because you dislike something doesn't make it bad.
9 - You can be a good person and still do bad things. It's called being ignorant. That's why it's important to try to learn and study as much as you can, and always be ready to ask questions and listen.
10 - True peace will only happen if everyone decides to be happy with who they are and what they have. That's why true peace will never happen because we will always want more than what we have because curiosity and insecurity are ingrained in our brains thanks to the media and make us wonder if we could always be happier than we already are.
11 - Many people are afraid of being small so they will try to make others feel smaller so they can make themselves feel big. Putting someone who's at "one" behind you and making them a "negative one" won't change the fact that you're still at "zero."
12 - Loving someone and wanting someone are different things.
13 - Entitlement is the root of all problems in the world. Thinking you deserve something more than someone makes you antagonistic towards that someone and causes you to resort to hostility without thinking you are in the wrong.
14 - Being vulnerable comes in many ways
15 - You don't always have to like your biological family. Blood doesn't always mean love.
16 - You don't always have to force yourself to like people and make friends, and being antisocial is not a crime. (but you do need to know how to interact with others in order to survive)
17 - A lot of media is produced with a specific target audience in mind. They're not always trying to be logical, realistic, or make something of quality, they're trying to be successful.
18 - You can in fact learn something from kids because their point of view is usually much more open than an adult's.
19 - You can be more than you already are. You can also be less... The only person who will always be with you no matter what happens is you, so think well about who you want to be with for the rest of your life.
20 - School sucks but it is necessary because it prepares you for life... Which also sucks.
21 - You won't know who you are or what you want for a good portion of your life, and that's normal.
22 - Hurting others is a lot easier than you might think. Same way helping someone is a lot harder than you think.
23 - A lot of people are very insecure because a lot of people compare themselves to those around them.
24 - You can't force yourself to be happy but happiness is never 100% out of your reach so don't give up.
25 - Talking helps a lot more than you might think. Putting out there things that keep twirling inside your head can be very therapeutic.
26 - Knowing how to listen might just be one of the most useful skills I ever acquired in my entire life.
27 - Sometimes you will feel very bad about something or about yourself and you will be tempted to relieve that "badness" by pushing it on someone so you can feel bad together or possibly make them feel worse than you. Don't do that. I know it's hard, but don't do that. You won't feel better, you will just think you're feeling better.
28 - Being weak is not a crime. Being in pain is not a crime. Being hurt is not a crime. Being born is not a crime. Being alive is not a crime. Having problems is not a crime. Using your problems as a reason to hurt others is a crime.
29 - You have the right to ask for help. You have the right to be happy. You have the right to be loved. You have the right to love. You don't deserve less than others just because you don't like yourself.
30 - Humor can heal. Company can heal. Exercising can heal. Change can heal. Learning to like yourself can heal. Forgiving yourself can heal. Forgiving others can heal. Learning how to let go can heal. Healing can be hard but it's not impossible.

Week 6 Blog Post
Chapters 4 and 5 in "The Social Organization" by Anthony Bradley and Mark McDonald touch on the basics of an online community and the importance of community goal setting and collaboration. Chapter 4 talked about a lot about the importance behind developing an effective vision statement. A vision statement serves two main purposes: First, it articulates the belief of leadership in the importance and value of community-based collaboration. Second it concretely identifies significant opportunities for the firm where such collaboration can add value by helping the organization move closer to its goals. Developing a vision is a creative activity, you'll need to: understand when community collaboration is appropriate, know where it is more likely to deliver value, apply an understanding of your organization's goals and culture, and craft and distribute an organizational vision for community collaboration. Chapter 5 explains the significance behind building a community collaboration strategy. The first touchpoint selecting, from the multitudes of community collaboration possibilities, those that you should pursue. The second is determining where and when to invest in specific collaborative communities. Community collaboration is super important because it is a way to make sure people feel included and a part of the company rather than just a employee.
After completing Hootsuite Chapter 4, I learned the importance of integrating social media advertising into your social marketing plan can help boost the reach of your audience, ultimately growing your online community and new customers. Learning how to efficiently use each social media platform and the unique feature was beneficial to understand but also to apply it to my customers social media strategy. After analyzing their target audience, we found using both Instagram and Facebook are needed since parents aren't a prominent user on Facebook and vice versa.

we're doomed - Media Blog Post #6
In the first 2 years of my college education, what I would consider one of the most useful pieces of information would be that when working within my career, I am not and am almost never what is considered the “target audience.”
Specifically in regard to being a marketing major, you have to understand that you are not trying to make yourself understood but an outside audience that is not you. I believe this is something everyone needs to have drilled into them because in both our media landscape and everyday life there's a lack of knowing that you are not the center and there are many dialogues.
TikTok humanizes and puts every creator at the center, when you scroll onto a video it is their “art” and online existence that you are witnessing in real time. And I think the trends that have emerged from TikTok show that these people are using their online existence as a means of survival.
Just last month, the trend to livestream you repeating the same five words over and over again was having people receive thousands of dollars within minutes.
The crazy thing is everyone accepted it and began participating.
This NPC streaming started off within TikToker PinkyDoll repeating the same words over and over again based on the gifts being sent. However, this essential went viral overnight and every day people and well known influencers were following suit. One of the most famous being the Miles Morales NPC where he repeats different catch phrases and even stays in character when questioned and eventually running from the cops.
Which is why the ability to trend on tik tok is unreliable unless you are consistently trying every trend.
Personally, an aspect of TikTok that I find really interesting is scrolling through livestreams. Outside of the bizarre NPC streams, there is no consistency or algorithm to livestreams. You can find one that has 5,000 people watching and the one directly below it is 5 people.
As someone who is essentially justifying their media addiction under the major of marketing, I do think TikTok is dystopian. But not only that all social media is dystopian and it is insane to assume otherwise.
Our society is undeniably suffering from the developments that we have had from social media. We constantly refer to the fact that Gen-Z is the loneliness generation, but also it's the generation that has free access and will (most likely in some capacity) continue to have this free access to social media for the rest of their life. We have not yet seen the long lasting effects of becoming people who are able to exist solely online.
I wrote a research paper on just how affected younger generation are especially within depression, suicide, body dismorphia, and grooming. These are aspects I believe if you asked, without a doubt someone has seen a post, made a post, or even experienced it themselves. And it is insane that we now take this into the norm.
I don’t have a solution, and when considering how TikTok exists I can not explain how it operates, what its intentions are, and if there is a way to indicate if its a good or an evil.
In a space where you can essentially reach a mass audience, project your thoughts onto a young and impressionable audience, and it keeps going around and around, even rhetoric that doesn’t seem harmful is especially when there are no age restrictions and lies are constantly constructed with the only intent of going viral.
However, my biggest problem with TikTok hate is parents being able to use it as an excuse for bad parenting. While the fact that the site is far from being child safe is obvious. We are always looking at things that are corrupting children's minds whether it's the video games they consume or Dungeons and Dragons, but parents have still yet to find a way around it.
People who don’t get access to media are ostracized from their peers because of how integrated media is within teenage culture, and it affects their ability to relate, but are they better off?

0 To 5 Billion
Twenty-five years ago, the number was 0. No, it wasn’t the temperature, in either Fahrenheit or Celsius. It wasn’t the inflation rate or the interest rate. It wasn’t the number of EVs that had been sold.
Nope, it was the number of people on social media. It simply did not exist. But data released earlier this year show just how much of a force it has become, because there are now slightly more than five billion people worldwide on social media, or 62.3% of the world’s population. It may not be Ferrari-like acceleration, but it is still pretty impressive.
The typical user spends 2h23m per day on 6.7 platforms. Of course, your mileage may vary, but those are the averages. Among Android users, they spend 34 hours per month on TikTok and 28 hours per month on YouTube.
And you wonder where all of your time went.
Overall, Instagram takes top honors as favorite platform, toppling WhatsApp, a popular platform everywhere but the US. Overall, we spend 6h40m a day online doing one thing or another. Based on my weekly screen time report that pops onto my phone every Sunday morning, I am above average.
Tumblr media
All of this time has to come out of other things, since we are still kind of locked in at 24 hours available each day. Television watching is in decline, losing another 17 minutes last year. I suspect it is also coming out of interpersonal time, productive time at work, and leisure activities. Sure, we might figure out how to juggle things (how many of you keep a social app open on your computer while at work?), but let’s face it: You’re probably not dedicating quality time to either.
And since marketers go where the eyeballs are, digital ad spend grew by 10% last year to $720 billion. Social media ad spending was $207 billion.
So what does this say about us as a people? A lot. It says that we have changed considerably in a quarter of a century, that no matter how much we may naysay social media specifically, or this digital lifestyle more generally, we have embraced it all nonetheless.
Social media has become the way that people connect and reconnect. Yes, some people use it as a substitute for F2F interactions. Like it or not, this is how we do it, and in the developed world, it has become the de facto means of communication. When was the last time you sent a greeting card of any kind, such as birthday, holidays, anniversary, etc.? Do you even call people these days? My calling log grows more sparse with each passing year. Do you no longer feel the need to attend reunions and similar social gatherings, because you already know what your old pals have been doing thanks to their posts?
We get our news online. We find our entertainment online. We shop online. We get our recipes online. There’s not much we don’t get online. And the implication to marketers is clear as the world approaches digital totality: you either join the tidal shift in redirected advertising dollars, or run the risk of completely losing relevance.
But as we continue the transition, we must be cognizant of the fact that old-school methods of advertising, notably mass communication on broadcast or print media vehicles, is probably a waste of time and money. A shotgun approach to advertising means spending massive sums to spray messages in the general direction of people, hoping that you actually reach some of the people you really want. We can do much better now with targeted advertising. It behooves us to understand the users of each platform, and then utilizing all of the tools available, go after specific people. The audience of many has been replaced by the audience of one.
I know that this creeps out some people, as we have discussed multiple times. But as we approach the end of this course, we need to step back and try to see the bigger picture. This is where we are. Digital marketing commands an ever growing portion of all marketing activities, and I suspect that, while old-school methods may never go away completely, it will be the gorilla in the living room.
Discussion topics like this may summon comparisons to Black Mirror, the Jetsons, The Matrix, and numerous other pop culture touchstones. Those may very well have been prophetic; we just didn’t realize it at the time. If you are uncomfortable with change, you’re in for a rough ride ahead. I don’t see this crazy train slowing down any time soon.
I do hope that my students will ponder these stats, but more importantly think about what it all means. Things have changed even in just the three months we have been journeying together. It may not feel like much, but when you turn to look over your shoulder, you can see just how far we have come, not just in 2024, but in the last 25 years.
That little speck you see in the distance is where we were. We can’t go back there, and to try is futile. Zero may have been quaint, but we’re at five billion now and growing. What you do with that reality is up to you.

Have you ever run an Inception workshop?
In March 2018, key people from our Banca team @Standard Chartered Bank flew from #Singapore to #HongKong to connect with our stakeholders and kick-start a new digital journey.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yesterday I touch based with my friend Sergey and realized that nearly 5 years ago we got the chance to collaborate together: our main intent was actually to kick start a new Mobile Insurance Journey for Hong Kong market. To reach our target we booked 2 full days with all stakeholders, called back then - Inception Workshop.
Here is the enabling team:
Sergey (Agile Coach): The good.
Ben (Product Owner): The Bad.
Raphaël / myself (Scrum Master): The Ugly.
Hopefully we got good company: our guest star - Rishi Kant (Architect) - would give us precious advices and would help to overview the feasibility of the future journey. Looking at the pictures, my souvenirs and also by experience, I will try to share the key steps and expected outcome we were hoping to achieve:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
 Key Steps:
1) Define the Scope and Goal:
Identify target audience and their needs.
Set the stage and clear objectives for the workshop, e.g : explore pain points, generate ideas, define MVP.
Establish workshop ground rules and desired outcomes.
2) Stakeholder Mapping:
Identify Key stakeholder.
Prioritize and define level of engagement.
Identify missing group of people.
Align expectation.
Identify collaboration opportunity.
Start to draft people structure.
3) Gather Insights and Inspire:
Facilitate brainstorming sessions on customer motivations, challenges, and desired experiences.
Present relevant industry trends and innovative insurance journeys.
Conduct user research exercises like user personas or empathy mapping.
4) Ideate and Prioritize:
Guide collaborative ideation sessions, encouraging creativity and out-of-the-box thinking.
Use frameworks like design thinking or rapid prototyping to quickly iterate on ideas.
Prioritize concepts based on feasibility, value, and user relevance.
5) Action Planning and Next Steps:
Develop a high-level roadmap for the new digital insurance journey.
Assign ownership and tasks for further development and prototyping.
Identify resources and potential roadblocks.
Provide high level of estimation.
Expected Outcomes:
Shared Vision and high level business objectives.
Shared understanding of target audience and their needs.
Shared understanding of the Stakeholders and their contribution.
Generated pool of creative and user-centric ideas for the new digital journey.
Prioritized concept(s) with a clear direction for further development.
Actionable plan and responsibilities for the next steps.
Identified High Level roadmap.
Potential release plan.
Motivated and inspired team aligned behind the new direction.
Additional Tips:
Prepare your Agenda carefully: WHO, WHAT, WHEN, HOW, think about a logical flow.
One facilitator is not enough, identify who will partner with you.
Identify few stakeholders which will support during the workshop, align on their contributions.
Diversity: Invite a diverse team of stakeholders from different departments.
Create a playful and collaborative environment to spark creativity: the room setting and the activities are primordial.
Utilize visual aids and interactive tools to engage participants.
Be flexible and adapt the workshop based on emergent ideas and group dynamics.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
By following these key steps and focusing on the expected outcomes, your inception workshop can lay a strong foundation for designing a successful and impactful new journey (you can probably treat yourself with a nice team lunch by the end of it!!!).

Vecna's curse headcanons / symbolism
Tumblr media
I  have  the  need  to  make  this  post  because  supreme  lack  of  narrative  awareness  and  Simply  Not  Getting  It  are  among  the  many,  many  issues  with  the  ST  fandom,  but  I  do  feel  like  its  probably  important  to  mention  it  here  and  I  did  eventually  intend  to  repost  my  post  about  Vecna's  curse  to  Henry's  own  blog  and  have  been  meaning  to  do  that  for  well  over  a  week  now,  lmao.  Right  now,  though,  this  post  will  have  to  do  because  I'm  low  on  spoons.
Vecna's  curse,  like  most  things  surrounding  Vecna  /  Henry  in  the  fandom,  is  the  subject  of a  pretty  huge  misconception  so,  yeah,  I  have  to  explain  it  here  too.  The  idea  the  fandom  has  is  that  Vecna  targets  people  who  have  trauma  because  he's  evil  and  they're  easy  victims  and  he  enjoys  torturing  them,  along  with  the  fact  he  chooses  "children"  because  again,  easy  victims  and  he's  also  a  [redacted].
Don't  start  me  on  the  explicit  homophobia  and  chronically  online  thinking  it  took  for  the  fandom  to  reach  that  conclusion.   But  the  thing  is  Vecna  actually  targets  neither  children nor  does  he  target  trauma  survivors  necessarily.  The  "special  thing"  about  Vecna's  curse  is  that  its  literally  a  blatant  analogy  for  depression  and  suicide.
The  canon  is  so  heavy  handed  in  this  but  for  some  reason  the  fandom  still  fails  to  get  it  98%  of  the  time.  The  feature  of  Vecna's  curse  and  the  common  denominator  among  the  victims  is  that  the  victim  is  carrying  a  "dark  secret"  that  is  taking  a  severe  toll  on  them  mentally  and  emotionally  and  quite  literally  ending  their  lives  due  to  the  shame  and  guilt  surrounding  this  particular  secret.
A  big  chunk  of  inspo  here  comes  from DnD,  where  Vecna  is  renowned  as  the  master  of  dark  secrets.  He's  a  keeper  of  knowledge.  Which  I've  mentioned  before,  is  another  reason  a  lot  of  this  fandoms  theories  about  how  Vecna's  going  to  do  xyz  in  season  5  are  completely  wrong  and  are  based  on  a  fundamental  misunderstanding  because  Vecna's  curse  is  not  and  has  never  been  about  Vecna  exposing  a  victims  "dark  secrets"  to  anyone  in  the  cast.  We  as  the  audience  are  only  privy  to  them  because  obviously  its  relevant  for  us  to  see  to  understand  the  plot,  but,  yeah,  ultimately  Vecna  doesn't  expose  anything  about  his  victims  outwardly  where  others  would  see  it.
(  With  the  exception  kind  of  being  Max,  who  naturally  began  to  seek  help  for  her  struggle  and  once  again,  the  depression  /  suicide  analogy  is  very  explicit  here,  but  it  wasn't  Vecna  who  pushed  Max  to  get  this  help  or  made  her  feel  she  had  to  look  for  help.  Vecna's  shtick  is  very  much  the  opposite.  Vecna's  shtick  is  "come  with  me  and  it  will  all  be  over." There  is  no  intention  in  Vecna's  curse  for  the  victim's  secrets  to  be  exposed  to  the  surrounding  cast  in  any  way.  )
Anyway,  specifically  Vecna's  curse  afflicts  Chrissy  because  of  her  eating  disorder  +  her  mothers  abuse.  It  afflicts  Fred  because  of  his  survivors  guilt.  Max  because  of  her  feelings  surrounding  Billy's  death,  and  Patrick  because  of  his  alcoholism  +  his  fathers  abuse.  These  are  all  "dark  secrets"  that  were  destroying  their  owners.   But  it  doesn't  end  there.  We're  shown  a  brief  moment  of  Vecna's  curse  manifesting  itself  -  essentially  we're  shown  Vecna  "choosing  a  victim".  In  this  scene  we're  shown  a  few  people  in  Hawkins  who  have  some  type  of  secret,  but  ultimately  the  curse  lands  upon  Patrick.  Why ?
The  answer  lies  in  one  of  the  most  extremely  overlooked  scenes  in  the  entire  season,  yet  one  of  the  most  important  ones  we  saw.  Vecna  is  shown  to  have  precognition.  He  can  see  and  show  others  the  future.  This  makes  the  analogy  of  Venca's  curse  as  a  suicide  thing  even  more  potent  and  literal  because  it  heavily  indicates  the  particular  victims  of  Vecna's  curse  were  not  just  depressed  and  having  suicidal  thoughts,  they  were  actually  actively  headed  toward  committing  suicide  in  the  future.  This  is  what  ultimately  "marked"  them  as  sacrifices  to  open  the  gate.
So  yeah.  Vecna's  curse  is  not  necessarily  about  trauma  nor  is  it  actually  about  exposing  or  exaggerating  anything  traumatic  the  Victim  has  suffered.  That  being  said,  there  is  a  lot  of  supernatural  repetition  in  Vecna  and  his  curse,  and  things  he  was  a  victim  of  and  suffered  in  his  human  life  sometimes  reflect  because  of  this  and  given  he  was  a  victim  of  serve  abuse,  trauma,  guilt  and  shame,  yes,  often  the  victims  have  trauma  and  are  heavily  relatable  to  Vecna  himself  and  Vecna's  own  personal  experience.  Which  is  a  factor,  I  believe,  in  why  Vecna  often  tries  to  soothe  and  reassure  his  victims  in  their  final  moments.
And  tbh,  I've  mentioned  this  before  in  more  in  depth  headcanons  about  Henry  /  Vecna  and  the  themes  /  motifs  surrounding  him,  but  Vecna  heavily  mirrors  a  destroying  angel,  a  grim  reaper,  ultimately  an  angel  of  death.  I've  repeatedly  related  him  to  figures  like  Azrael  and  Samael  and  will  continue  to  do  so  because  I'm  Absolutely  Correct,  and  that's  very  much  his  entire  aesthetic  and  I  think  its  crazy  how  people  in  this  fandom  insist  on  talking  about things like  IT/Pennywise  and  sometimes  Freddy  Kruger  and  their  ( painfully  wrong )  ideas  of  how  they  relate  to  Vecna  as  a  character  but absolutely  no  one  wants  to  acknowledge  for  factor  in  Vecna's  own  namesake  from  DnD  OR  the  main  inspiration  behind  him  otherwise  which  is  Pinhead  from  Hellraiser.  Its been blowing my mind since September.

5 Steps To Do Your Personal Branding
Tumblr media
In today's fast-paced digital age, personal branding has become increasingly essential for personal and professional success. It's a way to communicate your unique identity, values, and skills to the world. Personal branding is about crafting a distinct image of yourself, much like a company brands its products.
To effectively establish your personal brand, you need to follow a series of steps, each critical to your success. In this blog, we'll explore the five crucial steps to personal branding: Generating your vision, defining your personal image, maintaining your presence in social media, identifying your audience, and staying unique and authentic.
Step 1: Generate Your Vision
Generating your vision is the cornerstone of personal branding. Your vision is essentially your destination, the place where you want to be in the future. Start by asking yourself questions like, "What are my long-term goals?", "What kind of impact do I want to make?", and "What do I want to be known for?" Your vision will serve as the guiding light that directs your personal brand strategy.
When generating your vision, focus on authenticity. Your personal brand should reflect your true self and your core values. This will not only make the branding process more natural but also resonate better with your audience. Remember, your personal brand is a promise to your audience about who you are and what you can offer.
Step 2: Define Your Personal Image
Once you have a clear vision, it's time to define your personal image. Your personal image is how you want to be perceived by others. This includes your appearance, your communication style, and your online presence. It's important to ensure that your personal image aligns with your vision. For example, if your vision is to be a thought leader in technology, your personal image should reflect a tech-savvy, innovative, and knowledgeable persona.
To define your personal image effectively, consider the following aspects:
Appearance: Dress in a way that reflects your brand. If you aim to be seen as professional and authoritative, opt for a more formal style.
Communication: Your tone and language should match your brand. If you want to be approachable and friendly, use a conversational tone.
Online Presence: In the digital age, your online presence is critical. Make sure your social media profiles and content reflect your personal brand.
Step 3: Maintain Your Presence in social media
In today's interconnected world, social media is one of the most powerful tools for personal branding. It's where you can reach a global audience and showcase your expertise. To maintain your presence in social media effectively, consider the following tips:
Consistency: Post regularly and consistently. This will keep your audience engaged and informed about your activities.
Quality Over Quantity: It's not just about how often you post, but also the quality of your content. Share valuable insights, helpful tips, and thought-provoking content.
Engagement: Interact with your audience. Respond to comments, engage in discussions, and show appreciation for your followers.
Platform Selection: Choose the social media platforms that align with your personal brand. For instance, if you are a visual artist, Instagram or Pinterest may be more suitable than LinkedIn.
Step 4: Identify Your Audience
Identifying your audience is crucial to personal branding success. Your brand should be tailored to resonate with the people you want to reach. Begin by defining your target audience, including their demographics, interests, and needs. This will help you create content and messages that speak directly to them.
Additionally, understanding your audience's pain points and desires will enable you to provide solutions and add value. Your personal brand should address the needs of your audience, making you more relevant and attractive to them.
Step 5: Stay Unique and Authentic
Amidst the noise of personal branding in the digital world, staying unique and authentic is vital. Your uniqueness sets you apart from others in your field, and authenticity builds trust with your audience. Here are some tips to help you remain true to your personal brand:
Consistency: Consistency is key to maintaining authenticity. Ensure that your actions and messages align with your brand values.
Storytelling: Share personal stories that illustrate your journey and reinforce your brand narrative. Authentic storytelling humanizes your brand.
Adaptation: While consistency is crucial, be open to evolution. As you grow and learn, your personal brand may evolve to reflect your changing identity and vision.
In conclusion,
personal branding is a dynamic process that requires careful planning and execution. By following the five steps outlined here - generating your vision, defining your personal image, maintaining your presence in social media, identifying your audience, and staying unique and authentic - you can create a personal brand that reflects your true self and resonates with your desired audience.
Remember, your personal brand is a powerful tool for personal and professional growth, and it's never too late to start crafting it.
