TW/CW for incest, child abuse/CSA, and proshipping
Dear Encanto fandom,
+ any fandom that likes to shake up its canon family dynamics (in of itself generally not problematic. It’s not my cuppa, but you do you) and for which “adoption headcanons” are a thing.
I’m here to talk about one thing in particular that is actually harmful (as it also falls under the proshipping umbrella):
Headcanoning/rewriting a canon Madrigal family member as an ADOPTEE, OR creating an OC who was adopted by the Madrigals, AND THEN SHIPPING THEM WITH ANOTHER MEMBER OF THE MADRIGAL FAMILY is INCEST.
You are not exploiting some kind of “loop hole” where you think you can get away with shipping these characters because quote-unquote “they’re not reeeeeally family.” 🙄
Nope. This is still an incest ship.
And since I unfortunately can’t just tell people not to write Madrigalcest (because people are gonna people), I will say this: If you do want to go that “extra mile” by making an existing or original character an adoptee in order to ship them with their adoptive family member, just be aware that you’re still writing incest: Congrats, you’re an incest shipper. Tag your shit accordingly so that folks like me can block/blacklist it. Don’t tag your stuff with “well x is adopted so that makes this ok.” Cuz it doesn’t. I can tell you from my own experience that being adopted doesn’t change or lessen this type of abuse or its traumatic effects.
Shipping adoptive family members is incest and also gross. Calling them step-whatevers or otherwise “gussying up” the language, etc., is still incest. Call it what it is, and non-adoptees, call it out. There’s no wiggle room in this discussion.

This is OK to reblog (in fact, please do). Just asking that people be respectful of both the post and me. It’s hard to revisit and write about this stuff.

I genuinely don't mind having swiftie mutuals because like, while I don't like taylor swift, my mutuals are cool and i respect them a lot, and I like a lot of other stuff they post, along with their vibes!
The reason I tag some of my stuff as "swifties dni" is geniunely because I care about my swiftie mutuals. I figure y'all probably don't wanna interact with my anti taylor swift stuff.
Like, back when I was a swiftie, I had the tags "swifties dni" and "anti taylor swift" blocked because I didn't want to see that negativity. I understood that people didn't like taylor but it hurt to see others talking negatively about her, so I took it upon myself to block those tags and enjoy the other stuff my mutuals posted. So now I give my anti taylor stuff those tags just in case my swiftie mutuals block those tags. I don't want to put anti taylor swift stuff on your blog if you're trying to block it. :)
I mean I probably could just tag that stuff as anti taylor swift, cause that alone gets the message across and since a lot swifties don't wanna interact with anti stuff anyway (so the menacing and foreboding "swifties dni" tag is somewhat unnecessary)

hey i'm river! this is my comics sideblog, and you can also find my main @cirth-ithil, my star trek sideblog @transjadziadax, and on ao3 as moonrunes. my pronouns are they/them if you please, i'm an adult, i'm japanese-american, i'm a writer, and i've been reading comics for Far Too Long.
i mostly post about x men, with a side of other marvel stuff and a very small amount of dc. most characters are going to be tagged with [name]/[codename], tho sometimes that doesn't work very well (especially with magneto, or monica rambeau, etc) so that tagging system is not to be trusted (especially since tumblr keeps deleting my tags?). if you need me to tag something for a trigger lmk

I’ve been running this blog for quite some time now, and though I don’t get asks regularly, when I do get them, half the time I feel like a broken record answering them. So, I’m implementing guidelines on asks and will update this as needed.
1. Please read my FAQ first. If you’re on mobile and the link isn’t working, try going here instead.
2. Don’t send me any asks involving needing money for surgery/funerals/moving out, etc. They make me uncomfortable and I’ll just delete them. Please take the advice of this post instead.
3. If you are looking for a label that fits, please go to my ace glossary. It’s so well organized, you could potentially find that label within minutes. I spent countless hours making it, so that others can use it as a resource. I even update it when I discover a new label. It’s where I go to find labels for people asking and 99% of the time, I find a label there within minutes. If you can’t find a label there, chances are, I can’t help you.
Adding onto that, labels don’t have to fit 100%. And it’s okay if you prefer to use umbrella terms or not use labels at all.
4. If you want to send me hate, please note that I won’t read it. The second I realize something is hate, I go straight to the block button. You will only succeed in wasting your time.
5. It’s okay to ask me anything that could possibly be aphobic. As long as you make it clear it’s a genuine question.
6. Please don’t send your ask in a DM unless it’s something quick.
7. I tag all asks as “asks.” You can browse through that tag to see if your question has been asked or if your topic has been discussed. (It’s okay to send asks that have been discussed before though- as long as it’s something that can’t be answered in my FAQ.)
8. I’m aplatonic, so I’m no use when it comes to asks involving platonic attraction. I do experience romantic attraction, so I can answer stuff about that! (But read the FAQ first- it’s described there with a link to a helpful post on what it’s like.)
9. On top of that, I get a surprising amount of aromantic-related questions. Though I will answer these, and reblog the occasional aro post, this is an asexual blog first, run by someone who doesn’t identify as aromantic. So you might have better luck asking an aromantic-focused blog. But again, I’ll still answer those kinds of questions along with other a-spec related stuff like aplatonic, asensual, etc.
10. If you want clarifications on anything in my FAQ or glossary, you are welcome to ask! These guidelines are just to help save both of us time.
All that aside, if you send an ask, you can expect an answer back within 1-3 days, depending on how many asks I have and my energy level. I also always post them publicly. So if you want it to remain private, please say so.

How are we doin this fine Valentine's Day, watchful eyes?
I'm going to say a thing or two here because I don't think leaving it in a reblog or tags will do it justice. If you do not agree with anything that I say here and you are unwilling to be a mature adult about it, don't even bother interacting with this post or me directly regarding this, just block me and move on with your day because I am not putting up with any shit. Said things will be under the read more.
I have faced a great deal of criticism and damnation for doing stuff for me for the longest time, way more times than someone my age should have. As one can see, this kind of damnation will not stop me from loving what I love and I feel it shouldn't stop anyone else either.
Something that I think falls under this kind of thing is that no one should ever be damned for choosing to love a fictional character as opposed to a real person. I've done a bit of looking, and as it turns out, there exists a lil something called "fictophilia", which, as you may have guessed, is an umbrella term for the desire, sexual attraction, or intense feelings of love towards a fictional character, similar in strength and application for those felt towards real-life people. Because of how fictophilia/fictosexuality/fictoromance is negatively portrayed in media, people with this kinda sexuality feel like their thoughts and feelings are invalid and wrong. Personally, I don't think it's wrong at all, and I think being in love with a fictional person is just as valid as being attracted to a real one. Hell, I don't blame some people for being attracted to fictional characters instead of actual beings. Actual people have a very bad habit of being creepier than characters intended to be creepy, and that's saying something.
What's wrong wit y'all. Why are you like this. Stop creeping out the fictosexuals, people like you tend to be why they prefer fictional characters in the first place.
Another thing is that I believe that people are allowed to be uncomfortable with things like certain pairings and have the right to use whatever's currently handy to filter that out of their view. That doesn't give you the right to damn them when they're not looking, they're allowed to block you so they don't have to deal with anything you create or say that makes them uncomfortable. In fact, I can already think of several people who have damned others for this exact thing that I would love to block myself if not for the fact that I try not to judge, because y'all apparently can't behave yourselves when you think people aren't paying attention. Y'all should feel bad not only for acting like a spoiled child over someone not being comfortable with what you like, but also for being petty towards others all because they're interested in someone that ain't you, real or not.
I ain't saying names here because of that last bit, but if you're one of the people I am referring to here, you know who you are and if you're gonna act a fool about it, do not cry about it to me directly or on this post, because I don't wanna hear it, I will not hesitate to block people for not being the mature adults I asked y'all to be, and it ain't my fault you didn't listen.
Those that are willing to at least try to understand what I'm saying here and maybe even relate to this a little, thank you very much for being mature about this and feel free to stick around and vibe, I don't see enough people like you here on this site.

💜 About Me
I love animals, memes, mental health positivity, and analyzing the media I consume. Marvel and cat stuff makes up about 85-90% of this blog’s content, so if either of those things is a point of contention, then this blog is not for you. However I am consistent in my tagging so you could block either if you wanted to.
I do read fanfiction for Marvel and I have an entire “side blog” for it: @violets-library. I also have a side-side blog where I keep my queue of fanfics I would like to read at some point, and where you can send me fic recs: @violetsreadinglist .
I also have another side blog which houses all of the things I like that aren’t (and which I probably enjoy more so than) marvel; that blog is @sleepingthestral
This blog is movies, tv shows, literature, music, history, language, memes, more animals, comedy, franchises (Harry Potter) and other stuff. I typically don’t post the same memes on both my main and this blog (unless its super important or super funny) so there is a difference in content.

💜 My Love/Hate Of MCU
As to why I hate Disney (as the company is now) is explained here, here, and here. The gist of it is that disney is a factory producing mediocre stories with characters that have great foundations but little to no meaningful development. Disney’s policies and actions as of late regarding its treatment of employees, as well as its blatant disregard for artistic respect and consistency, means that I refuse to give them any of my money and that includes paying for Disney plus or seeing the movies in theater. They are a consumerist organization that is only focused on money instead of being focused on telling important stories that will bridge the gaps between various cultures and societal groups.
That being said, Marvel, which is owned by Disney, fits that same consumerist, money-making profile and I loathe it. They have great foundations for these characters but they refuse to do anything to maintain consistency between the individual hero franchises and the avengers/group films. An example of this is the overall plot for Steve’s character in endgame, but I won’t get into the details of that argument here. Another example is their inability to recognize Bucky as a hero and not a villain, and another, their treatment of Sam Wilson since he became Captain America (i.e. there’s no mention of him in any of the latest projects. Hence, my love/hate relationship with the mcu: a love of the characters but a hatred of the plots and the writers’ inability to maintain character consistency (which is why I read fanfiction).

Attention SpaceGravity fans! <3
I just want to make (yet another) post thanking y'all for the asks and engagement with me for the Sloane/Luther pairing! It has meant so much! Also don't worry! If I haven't answered your ask yet I'm holding onto it and will be responding soon! Promise!
I have really enjoyed talking with y'all about them. It's made my week and greatly build up my hype for the season!
Speaking of- the second reason for this post:
For me, season 3 airs at 2am CST! I do plan on getting in at least two episodes that night and then onward from there. To avoid spoilers I sadly wont be making any spacegravity posts or even opening my inbox until I have finished the season! (which won't take long- with my two+ eps per night it'll take between 3 and 5 days for me to finish if I can manage my impulse control). Once I've seen it I'll get back to the inbox and work on some new posts and edits! I've got an edit in my drafts right now actually- and I did mention a video edit I plan on making.
To help the spoilerage down- I'll be tagging my posts with umbrella academy season 3 spoilers. so if you follow me and think it'll take a while for you to finish then add that to your blocked tags!
Please note- I'm starting up a (short) part time job the 25th until the 4th and I'm not sure how much time I'll have for posts (but I'll try!). And then shortly after that I'll be leaving on a week long vacation which I don't even know if I'll have wifi (gosh I hope rip). So posts that week will be even less. Again! I'm basically a die hard shipper at this point and I do have other fanfics to be working on so I'll do my best to get some stuff out for y'all!

This is my main blog. It's not an RP account or a side blog, but my main blog. Although, I could RP with other people in here, of course. But, I might have to place something, like an emoji, to know which character I'm playing as. Also, my RP skills are a little rusty.

Under the cut is my OC. She's not in HSR or anything like that, as she's my own character, but I will tweak some things to make her fit into the HSR universe.

Occupation: Traveler/Adventurer/etc.
Age: No definite age (can be any age, is what I mean)
Pronouns: She/her
Height: 5'4"
Appearance: Shoulder-length blue-black hair tied up in a low ponytail, deep violet eyes with diamond shaped pupils, light tan skin.
Accessories: Amethyst diamond shaped earrings on her ears, black choker on her neck, crystal bracelet on her left wrist, light blue hairband on her hair.
Clothes: Light blue sleeveless romper that has a diamond shaped cutout on her collarbone, dark blue jacket on top of the romper, black belt on her romper belt loops to keep it in place, black leggings inside her romper, dark gray knee high boots with black soles on it, 3 finger gloves on her hands, and light blue thigh band on her left thigh.
Greeting - "Hm? Oh! Hey there! I'm Mayla. Nice to meet you. Oh? New to the Astral Express? Well, looks like it's your lucky day! I'll be your guide for today! Here, let me take you around the train! And maybe we can grab some snacks as well?"

Anyone who reblogs that “it’s illegal to be straight in June” post is getting fucking blocked, not only is it dismissive of straight trans folk who DEFINITELY belong in the queer community, the original version is also aphobic. Hello! I was considering opening commissions for my writing but I was unsure if anyone would be interested so this is just to gauge interest. There would most likely be 3 slots with 1,000 words max (though I may go over that amount depending on what I’m writing), I mainly write Arknights but I can always try Fate or Fire Emblem!
