Community TV series will receive a film on Peacock over seven years after the sixth and finale season wrapped up.
The feature-length followup will reunite stars Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash and Ken Jeong. Original cast members Donald Glover, Yvette Nicole Brown and Chevy Chase are not attached.
Series creator Dan Harmon is writing the film with former series scribe Andrew Guest (whose credits include fan-favorite episodes “Advanced Dungeons & Dragons” and “A Fistful of Paintballs”). They’ll executive-produce alongside McHale, Russ Krasnoff and Gary Foster. The movie is slated to be released in 2023.
Plot details are being kept under wraps for now. The press release only states that Community the Movie derives “from the TV series that predicted its own movie,” making it “the least predictable movie of a TV series that referenced a lot of movies and TV.”
“‘Six seasons and a movie’ started out as a cheeky line from Community‘s early seasons and quickly ignited a passionate fan movement for this iconic, hilarious and cool (cool, cool) NBC comedy,” NBC Universal Television’s Chairman of Entertainment Susan Rovner said in a statement. “We’re incredibly grateful that 15 years later, we are able to deliver fans this promised movie and can’t wait to get to work with Dan Harmon, Andrew Guest, Joel McHale, Sony and our partners at UTV to continue this epic comedy for Peacock audiences.”

Freelance Movie Plot
Mason Petits (played by John Cena), a former Special Forces operative, finds himself stuck in a mundane desk job. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when he reluctantly accepts a freelance job providing private security for Claire Wellington (played by Alison Brie), a once-prominent journalist who is now on the decline. Little does she know that Claire’s interview with immaculately dressed dictator Juan Venegas (played by Juan Pablo Raba) will be a game-changer. Ok so now I've seen them all, Scream films in order of greatness:
The original and best. Drew Barrymore remains a scream queen icon.
Jerry O'Connell and Timothy Oliphant bromance? Yes please!
Leaning into the meta, and having fun. Alison Brie, Emma Roberts, and Hayden Panittiere are great casting choices and it pays off.
This was so much fun for me. I loved Samara Weaving at the start. I finally warmed to Jenna Ortega. Jasmin Savoy Brown is a show stealer. And the whole "core four" thing is so much fun. I even enjoyed how painfully laboured the bad guy's monologue was.
Apparently the studio were scared of too much violence when they made this and I think it shows. Just feels like it's lost its mojo a bit. Come for the horror, stay for the Gale/Dewey romance.
I didn't enjoy this one so much. Felt a bit too serious somehow, like no one had told them it was supposed to be funny as well as scary.

It's been almost 10 years since I was last fully active on Tumblr 😳 How things have changed, but one thing that hasn't is my love for media and being part of fandoms.
I'd like to be more active on here again, so I have started with a fresh rebrand! Goodbye 👋 to Spontaneous Melissa and hello 👋 to minds over matter!
This play on words is in honour of my first TV show obsession - Criminal Minds. As well as the strong confident ladies from my top three TV shows (and fandoms I've been apart of): JJ / AJ Cook from Criminal Minds, Beth Greene / Emily Kinney from The Walking Dead, and Annie / Alison Brie from Community!
Along with the name change, I have updated my icon to one of my favourite Gayoon photos (my forever kpop idol!)
