Ah, Saiura. When I first started out in this fandom, I was convinced I’d never touch a single Saiki ship. And then I stumbled across one of @thetroninator ‘s fics and everything changed.

Saiki and Aiura make a legendary couple if you really think about it. I’m fond of opposite personalities when it comes to ships, so these two are just neat. Aiura’s outgoing and carefree personality is such a fun juxtaposition to Saiki’s closed off and exacting one.

I feel like there a lot of people who could speak to the strengths of this ship with much more eloquence than me. There’s a lot of things to love about them, but if I’m completely honest, I do heavily prefer them as friends. That said, I won’t say no to a good Saiura fanfiction.

I said they’re terrible for each other because they remind me of my grandparents they have a lot of differences that I imagine would result in some nasty fights. They’re both strongwilled and prideful; not a good combination. But I think they’re such interesting characters that I’d even be interested to know what happened when things went awry. And I don’t think either of them would be the type to leave if things got rough. At least up to certain point. If anything, I think Aiura would be first to leave, surprisingly. I think she has more self respect than Saiki.

Despite the fact that I think this ship wouldn’t end well, I still think it’s one of my favorites. They’re my children. 💖💛

But to be honest, it’s really more the idea of them that I love; AiTeru in canon has a long way to go, since I’m not convinced Aiura knows she likes girls, much less Teruhashi.

The reason I said I like them more platonically is because well… every relationship starts somewhere, right? I think they would need that start as best friends. I’d read a slowburn acquaintances to best friends to lovers fic about them… I’d read any content about them. I’m starved for prominent female characters in fics. As their relationship stands in canon, I don’t ship it. (I ship it a little… onesided AiTeru where Aiura is clearly crushing on Teruhashi is great. I take it as canon.) But in fanon? Yeah, there’s a lot I’d love to see happens between these two, but it would take a lot of time and dedication and skill writing romance, the last of which I have big fat 0 of.

When it comes to what their relationship would be like, I think Aiura and Teruhashi have a mid tier level of compatibility. The issue is, they are both strong willed and stubborn, and unwilling to compromise in a lot of cases. This would make the ship more interesting, but it would also mean hurdles in their relationship. However, I think they are both capable of acting reasonably. If they could learn go get over their pride, especially Teruhashi, I think the ship could work well. I think Aiura would be the one to initiate things, as she is more honest with herself (and more likely to come to the realization that she likes Teruhashi more quickly) and generally more assertive, because she doesn’t spend nearly as much effort worrying about her image. Therefore, she’s free to behave as she sees fit. I think that Teruhashi would admire this quality, but it would also inevitably grate on her nerves that Aiura stops to consider things so little. At least, until she learned to be more comfortable with herself. I think the Teruhashi of later chapters with more character development (after the chapter where she decides to stop memorizing her male classmate’s personal details) would be more likely to get through the adjustment period.

After that? Literal power couple. Lesbians of highest esteem, to be honored (and slightly feared.) Women across the globe would know their names as many things, including fashion icons (of course.) Maybe they would become famous and influential politicians who eventually landed seats in the UN.

In conclusion: Ship AiTeru!!!

In the official video Rin and Len have their default outfits so i decided to make my own desins for this, I'm actually really happy with these minus the chalky color of the hair.

I tried to give them a cozy feel because thats the emotions the song gives yknow and i think i pulled that off, the color scheme is also reddish brown because the song is about a coffee shop so i think that is a cool detail. I tend to avoid color schemes like these but I think i managed to make it work. Also I was cookin with Rins hair its so nice, I allways like messing around with the Vocaloids designs when I do this sorta thing I think the curls and making it slightly longer really work with this song. I've never made a len desin for anything so his is more meh lol.

anyway heres one unfinished drawing

this was for the "eiga mite mo ii ne, karaoke demo ii ne, aiteru ka mite miyou ka" part, rin was gunna do a little bounce and len would pop up when his line happens. The mv mostly would be in my normal style rather than this chibi one I think i also planned to use chibis for the part about rain idk

the bell ringing would be.... the bit where the bell rings at the start. IDK why this is so well animated but it is good job me.

[ Cherry Moon ] - named after the song by Prince is the Stand of Eiichi Haseki after he got shot by the Stand arrow by bunch of wasps, it first didn’t take form until put against the lying Stand [ The Who ]. It’s main ability is to be able to turn drawn objects and sounds into stickers that can either be brought to reality or be stickable and affect it’s targets however is limited to things that are inanimate, if it tries bringing drawn people then they just turn into paper dolls.

It has a very curious personality and is surprisingly skittish in comparison to it’s more upfront user and has surprisingly stricken a close friendship with [ Smooth Operator ] despite the users of both despising each other.

[ Ophelia ] - named after the song by The Band is the Stand of Hachiro Santos is one of seeing, it has immense physical strength that rivals that of When Doves Cry however also has a general telescope ability that allows for one to zoom in on things like microscopes but can work like a regular one mainly via the floating mini scope in it’s chest that can be summoned independently from it.

While it would normally be a very useful Stand, Hachiro seems to prefer using it as a force as opposed to something more than that.

[ Smooth Operator ] - named after the song by Sade is the Stand of Sada Aiteru is an audio based Stand. Able to mimic voices and sounds or be able to play or record sounds, it’s recorder tape body is prehensile and can be used for battle as a sort of restraint weapon

Design Notes:

[ Cherry Moon ] - Koichi short therefore Cherry Moon is too, i wanted to do a sort of animal-ish Stand for him. Think like a dog-rabbit hybrid. He has both ⁉️ and the two kanji often seen in JoJo because of it’s ability while red is mixed to sort of balance the colour palette and provide emphasis on said things i mentioned before (and cause it looked pleasing).

You can only see it if you zoom in but there are the dot halftone thing as a sort of reference to Pop Art because that’s widely seen in comic books. As of now i am unsure whether to make it an Act Stand or not.

[ Ophelia ] - I had a bit of a hard time designing him surprisingly! I don’t know why but he was, but i persisted cause i needed to do him so that’s how this exists! The telescope theming is meant to be a sort of counter to The Hand’s “look only one way” sort of direction it had with it’s design, fundamentally it’s still the same motif just spun a little bit.

He originally had a mouth but then i erased it cause i didn’t like it. The X was also supposed to stick out like Tessarus’ visor from MTMTE but it didn’t look good either so it was Marilyn Manson looking face for him!

[ Smooth Operator ] - My favourite of the bunch! Junie gave me the idea of wires but i sort of turned it into like cassette string like you see in casettes, her little headphone thingies are based on reel-to-reel tape recorders. Her hair was so tedious yet so fun to do and it kinda reminded me of that one SCP.

I TRIED to deviate from the school uniform but it ended up not being too possible as i wanted to have a bit of colour separation in a way that i’d personally like but then it still looked like a school uniform and i said “fuck it, Sada is a school PA runner and also a newsgirl” because of this.

ahh yawarakaku .. amai kibun .... fuwa fuwa shiteru ...... kokoro ni wa... kimi gata no... ana ga aiteru no........ just like a doughnut moyoikonda koi no LOOOOOOOOP...................

not sure why but i feel like describing my saiki k ship pipeline

when i first watched saiki k, i shipped torisai and kubokai iirc

then i shipped saikechi/akesai and teruhashi x rifuta (idk the ship name) and kubokai+chiyo and satousai

and now there's also toritsuka and hii (green-haired disaster girl), satou x hii, the four of the pk psykids, aiteru, maybe saiko and teruhashi or him and nendou lol (or honestly anything good with saiko and anyone could get me at this point), and makokuu (starting to consume me)

i'd be interested to hear any of yours too because why not lol

hsfjdlshfks Aiteru is a tough one for me.

Obviously Aiura likes Teruhashi, but in canon, Teruhashi is so self-absorbed and has not had a single drop of respect-women juice and like... Aiura deserves better honestly.

That's not to say that Teruhashi won't be getting better, she's had a lot of character development from the beginning. I think her friendships with Chiyo and Imu are certainly helpful in that regard.

But still, towards the end of the series, her reactions to other women are still to establish dominance first and ask questions later LOL. When she identifies Aiura as being a potential rival, Teruhashi essentially calls her a dumbass skank, and then immediately decides to not only steal her look and her whole vibe but to do it BETTER than Aiura, while Aiura only copied the "traditionalness" of Teruhashi's look out of genuine admiration.

Like, I think Chiyo only managed to become Teruhashi's friend in the first place because she wasn't nearly as conventionally attractive as she'd have to be to threaten Teruhashi's spot on the pecking order unfortunately hsfjdlshfks

I think Aiteru can definitely work once Teruhashi realizes that

a) even if she IS God's gift to humanity, that doesn't make everyone else lesser, and

b) she should not be judging herself or others purely on how well they meet societal standards.

We'll also have to see how Teruhashi reacts to Aiura's actual straight up magical powers once she realizes that's what's going on and not just some popularity gimmick Aiura made up lol.

Personally I like them better as besties with benefits + both being Chiyo's girlfriends once Chiyo recovers from the comphet 😂😂
