Winning design for the new terminal of Changchun Airport, a floating feather with unique fan-shaped profile, to create a green and sustainable airport in a human scale. The site has a footprint of 177.6-hectare with a building area of nearly 270,000 square meters. The project is located in Changchun, a city well-known as the international regional hub in Northeast Asia with a population of 23 million. After completion, the terminal will contain 54 aircraft gates and is expected to accommodate 22 million passengers per year, that will become the biggest air transportation junction in northeastern region of China. The terminal has referred to as a "garden airport" with a calming presence to the airport. “The future large-scale transportation junction is first of all an important public space in the city.
