How is a.i. art any diffrent than people selling their fan art? the fanastist doesn't own the ip, just using it due to fair use and arent giving anything but perhaps community to the og creator. I haven't had a reasonable answer yet, legit asking.

Some clarification before I get into my opinion. I've been on Twitter to follow some of my favorite artists for a while since I'm not on Instagram or any other art sharing platform and mostly keep what I draw/create to myself. I've been... for lack of better terms, pissed off. Disheartened. Etc. By AI art for a few months now.
When it first came out, where AI generated images became a thing, I don't remember the name of the website, but it let you create people I think. I was interested and liked it since for the longest time I couldn't do human art to the point where I liked it. Now, its a 50/50 but seeing myself improve with my own skills is nice!
I had a 6 month long art block where I couldn't draw anything I was happy with, and this stopped me from creating. Now though, the feeling I get when I see AI art is... almost worse. When I had no idea what the data for these was doing, I thought it was cool! Inspirational even! After learning from some protesters, I realize now what's happening and I'm almost scared to commission people now.
Alot of what I've seen makes this argument, but I'm going to restate it here. AI art is theft on a national scale. People who don't think so need to do a little digging because AI art purposefully infringes on copyright the original artist has. Where do you think the computer gets it basis to create things? Already existing media. And I know that the argument "Well, you can tell what's not real based on if it can draw hands lmao" is a thing, but... these computers will learn. I'm honestly terrified, NOT in a "ahhh robots will take over the worldddd" kind of way. I'm scared for the artist community I love and appreciate.
I try to give everything the benefit of the doubt. But this is so frustrating. This makes me want to give up art.

Part 4 of this series, thought I would post it here to Tumblr to see how it’s perceived! These are just for fun! Anywho, the presidents review episode 4 of Helluva boss while looking at my art before getting interrupted by a special guest! The other parts are on YouTube and TikTok!

So, a couple of days ago, this paper got published in a scientific journal by Frontiers:
Tumblr media
It's a review in a journal with relatively low impact, so it shouldn't ruffle any feathers
But
The paper has three figures:
Tumblr media
These cunts sent a paper to a scientific journal with images generated by MidJourney, without even checking if the labels on them were good, IT GOT PAST PEER REVIEW, and got published
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The only correct label on any of the figures is the one that says "Rat"
Image generation with AI needs to DIE

Manga Yokai Stories: Ghostly Tales from Japan
A collection of tales consolidated by a Greek-Irish writer named Lafcadio Hearn who lived in Japan in 1904 and was fascinated by the stories he read and hear that he put them together into a book called “Kwaidan”. He finds the stories fascinating as it’s not the type of horror stories you would expect but rather presented in a different way focusing on the human nature of the ghosts like regrets, anger, loneliness and sorrow. It is essentially a story of letting go of the past and moving on in life as the ghosts return from the dead because they want vengeance against those who wronged them in life, to be with their loved ones who they still miss. Or even wanting a second chance in life after messing up in their unfulfilling life but can’t. So they are unable to die in peace and move on to the next world because their heart and soul are still clinging on to the world, to the past. A page turner filled with interesting stories with plot twists making you wonder if they are able to search for inner peace or what they are looking for and wonder if the story goes the way you expect it to. The illustrations by Inko Ai Takita is simply beautiful, with a blend of typical manga style and a touch of realism to it which helps in the dramatisation of the stories as you can feel the emotions showed by the characters. A good book to read if you’re interested in Japanese culture and folktales. Or if you love art and appreciate the amazing artwork and is more of a visual reader like me who likes reading books with illustrations.

because twitter is now a monkey brainchip wasteland and tumblr is a dying niche hellsite, there is now a genre of poster who is literally just "i have a tumblr AND a twitter account. and also a tiktok" and they are the only ones bridging this social gap that would otherwise tear society apart i think.
in art history you learn that artistic movements build on what people already understand .and. i think shape language goes all the way back to the earliest art we ever drew and we've just been iterating on it since then. not because it's human nature but because we are all just doing what the guys before us did. and if you look you can find things that most artists/art consumers would've been able to pick apart during that period, but we have to be explicitly told to understand, because the symbolism didn't stick. bare feet in the renaissance. fandom jokes that only make sense if you tuned into a specific cartoon redub stream weekly. and like. neolithic cave paintings!!! they move in flickering fire light! they're animated! but we had to figure that out because the artform got lost over the millenia. but until we did we were sort've Not Understanding that art form. we were missing such a massive piece that it was significantly less comprehensible.
anyways tiktoktumblrtwitter reposters are keeping us from becoming utterly incomprehensible to each other by keeping us up to date on the art-comedy-languages of other websites. and one day we will all be totally incomprehensible to ai art enjoyers . because they are just iterating on what came before without intentional or slow change influenced by their surroundings like we are. so they're gonna be stuck in 2019 forever while we're all using triabgles as an allegory for the death of computers or something

Team 29: keep
Hello it is @codywanbigbang time everyone! This definitely wasn't born from a hyperfixation nope definitely not don't worry about it ANYWAYS
Author: @tallnegotiations (AO3)
Artist: @mock-arts (AO3/tumblr)
Rating: T
Word Count: 30183
Relationships: Cody/Obi-Wan (barely there lmao), Cody & Obi-Wan (constantly), Vader & Obi-Wan
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply, but also be on the lookout for clone trooper dehumanization, non-con medical procedures, and a pretty unhealthy relationship.
Tags: AI!Obi-Wan, Empire Era, canon divergence, emotional hurt/comfort, whump
Summary:
Vader is a technical genius, it is a well-known fact. So, following his defeat at the hands of his old Master on Mustafar and the rise of the Empire, Vader executes his greatest act of genius to prove his dominance: he creates an artificial intelligence modeled after Obi-Wan Kenobi.
After the rise of the Empire, nothing remains of Commander Cody except for CC-2224, just another rank-and-file stormtrooper among many. He goes where he is told to go, shoots where he is told to shoot, and doesn't question it because good soldiers follow orders.
A droid told to be human meets a human told to be a droid. They meet somewhere in the middle.
Find the fic here and the art here and here!
Once again, the biggest of thanks to @mock-arts for joining me in this story. Their art was what inspired the ending of this fic, so without them, it probably would have been very different. Couldn't have done it without you!

Book Review: Pixels of You by Ananth Hirsh, Yuko Ota, J.R. Doyle
Two interns, one human and one AI, dislike each other so naturally they’re forced to work together on a new project. Summary:In a near future, augmentation and AI changed everything and nothing. Indira is a human girl who has been cybernetically augmented after a tragic accident, and Fawn is one of the first human-presenting AI. They have the same internship at a gallery, but neither thinks much…
