I hadn't even realized AGDQ was on at the moment; but I just got a recommendation for a video of a guy speedrunning a game with his dog. Like, the guy's trained the dog to press buttons on command, but the dog is the one who's actually pressing the buttons.

BRB, starting an argument about whether the run in question should be classified as a "two players, one controller" exhibition, or as a human player using a dog as an input device.

I'm so SO excited to see Mystery Dungeon finally make its way to Games Done Quick. Explorers of Sky means the world to me, and having that run on the horizon finally convinced me to finish this piece~

I love the Baldur's Gate 3 speedrun because it's a healthy mix of wild game-breaking glitch exploits, and then also stuff like dropping an invisible 5000 kilogram bear on Ketheric Thorm's head to deal 116 bludgeoning damage, which is absolutely within the spirit of D&D

One of my favorite types of speedruns are story-heavy games where the story gets totally butchered by glitches and skips so all you see are disjointed cutscenes that barely make sense in this new context

AGDQ 2024 - Undertale

"Why are you being so nice to me..?"

As a man of exquisite taste in game glitches, which runs from AGDQ this year are you most looking forward to?

Basically just Celeste and Mega Man: Rock N Roll, as far as better known titles go, though I'll likely pop in on the Breath of the Wild stream at some point to see what absolute horseshit the BotW community has come up with in the past few months – I confess I haven't been keeping up with it lately. As for shorter and lesser-known runs, ElecHead caught my eye, and I'm keen to see how Unsighted has evolved since its showing at Flame Fatales last August. The Katana Zero TAS exhibition might be good for a laugh, too.

Oh, and the obligatory Metroid race, of course. I see they're racing Metroid Dread All Bosses Glitchless this year, which isn't a category that I've followed before, so it'll be fun to see what that looks like.

(I might have wanted to catch the Metroid Prime co-op randomizer exhibition also, but I'm working that day and it's at an awkward time for me. I'll probably look it up on YouTube after the event is over, though.)
