i cant stand feminist discourse on this site because its like 90% "feminism means equality which means you can't say anything bad about men and you have to criticize women just as much as men because misandry is just as bad as misogyny" and these posts always get thousands of notes from other people who call themselves feminists likeee

do you still consider yourself trans or not? sorry if this question is weird ive always been interested in how people view their gender :3
no its okay! i don’t consider myself trans anymore because i am not really changing anything about myself or wanting to be perceived in any way other than female. i don’t necessarily consider myself a woman, it’s silly but honestly “lesbian” is my gender haha
but i make the active decision to present as feminine even if whatever intrinsic homosexuality is in my body+mind causes me to constantly be perceived as trans by those who don’t know me LOL

mfw i actully love making fun of Toshiro he's a lil pathetic and it's funny to joke about him losing to Marcille's ethically dubious gay failgirl swag and how he's NOT ready to handle Falin's weird white girl pussy (OR her dragon cock) but now i have to watch my back or i'll get people in my notes calling him an evil ableist abuser 😔 dude's just lame let me make cuck jokes about him in peace.

that post that's like "learning social skills helps with social anxiety" applies to dating also btw
#i guess they have a circular relationship because also going on lots of first dates was really trial by fire for me in learning lots lf#new social skills#meeting new people was never my strong suit and i was very afraid of it and would avoid it but like!#when i first tried going on first dates i learned a lot about how to meet people and met types of queer people i'd never met before#and actually it was good for me even though it was often weird and stressful#and it was a lower-stakes way to practice social skills that i otherwise would've just avoided using until they atrophied#anyway whenever i see a dating profile that's like 'i'm afraid of talking to women lol' i'm like ok relatable but what's your plan to learn#i think also just like it doesn't have to be through dating but it is good for you to meet other gay and trans people offline if possible#when i moved to wisconsin i only knew my coworkers who were mostly also twentysomethings who'd been hired straight from college#and it was good for me to meet and make friends with other local gay and trans people who were involved in different stuff#idk i just don't know how many more 'i'm obsessed with romance but scoff at the idea that i should do anything about that' posts i can read#like if i said i wanted to run a marathon but i never practiced running people would fairly be like okay that's prob not gonna happen#idk i know it's no skin off my nose i'm just like. if you never take any steps towards expressing your desires#how do you think they're going to just happen to you#personal nonsense

being in a social work masters program as a marginalized person who is ages ahead in theory and experience in comparison to your (white, privileged, rich) cohort is a fucking minefield. solidarity for all and every other marginalized person in these fucking micro aggressive and liberal ass social work programs.

One of the many things that frustrate me about T-RFs is that they'll highlight genuine women's issues--and then immediately pivot to blaming trans women. Like...what? No?
Trans women didn't overturn Roe vs. Wade. They're not committing mass femicide or kidnapping other women to sell them into sex slavery or mutilating them for "sexual immorality." On a historical level, trans women didn't deny women the right to vote or force them to perform abortions with coat hangers or invent the beauty/diet culture that makes women feel bad about themselves.
CIS MEN did that. Why is this so hard to understand?

Still not over Oda deciding to have every single male character peep on the girls’ bath in Alabasta- including Luffy, Chopper, (disgustingly) King Cobra, and the fucking camel- EXCEPT for Zoro. In fact I’m pretty sure he’s the only main guy to have never been included in any of the many pervert gags. We talk about Luffy’s sexuality and very deliberate aroace coding a lot, but I think Zoro’s disinterest in women’s bodies is just as important to how he’s portrayed, and just as intentional on Oda’s part. Like, when we talk about the extremely (and justifiably!) popular mlm Zoro HC, it’s usually just our personal readings of his relationships with men like Luffy or Sanji, or (cough) strangely sexy one-liners, nothing we actually believe was intentional on Oda’s part. But this, I do believe is on purpose.

Call it a crackship but I've been thinking of Speedy x Lanolin...
Imagine Speedy finally gains the courage to say "fuck the armada" and goes to work at the Restoration...partly because Bean insists. So he's working and trying to get over the crushing weight of basically leaving his father and everything he's worked for.
Then he meets Lanolin when she interrogates him about his moving on from the Armada. He's pissed off at first, but he starts noticing things...like her formality, her serious demeanor, how she looks like she could smack his face off at any moment-
Tumblr media
Let's just say that eventually, he doesn't see anything bad about her. Besides, he's trying to get over the whole "ONLY BIRDS ONLY BIRDS" thing he was used to at the Armada.
He also thinks she's pretty
Not sure whether it should be one-sided or not but I want it to be on both sides...

me: oh wow an ffxiv theory/meta post! i love these even when i don't agree with them. i wonder if this person will highlight an underdiscussed aspect of the setting, or reframe someone's characterization interestingly the post: "in the original japanese--" me: unsubscribed. blocked. reported. hie thee hence and never darken my door again.
#ffxiv#it's written in tokyo! we are talking about people who if they had a translation question could *walk down the hall and ask the writer*#it's not the english version's fault that you're a coward who's afraid of subtext and subtler characterization#even if it was intended as direct translation 99% of you lack the japanese fluency to appreciate any degree of nuance#and you frankly clearly can't appreciate nuance in english to begin with! so how could you know if it's conveyed correctly.#my favorite example is haurchefant. a lot of people complain about him being 'toned down' in english#which 1) he is. it's culturally necessary. if EN haurchefant talked about your sweat and offered you a 'warm bed' he'd be loathed#he'd come off as sexually aggressive towards women and as bad mlm rep. fans would DESPISE him.#different audiences have different values. he has to be written slightly differently to land in the same way he does in the original.#2) no he's really not. like sure the text of his lines gets toned down. but he's still absurdly into you. he's still a weirdo thrillseeker#there's still SHIRTLESS MEN WORKING OUT IN HIS OFFICE LOL#a lot of people complain that the english version is too aggressive or people are too mean and it's like...these are different contexts#like there's sooo many alisaie lines where people are like 'she's more of a cute tsundere in jp she's mean in english' and like.#alisaie is 100% an american tsundere in english. the localization team just knows how tsundere archetypes come off in english#which is to say straightforward tsundere shit tends to scan in english as either incredibly childish or cumbrained nonsense#and they have in turn written her with just a slightly lighter hand and more culturally intelligibly in english#she's a teenage girl who covers her sensitivity and inability to stop caring by putting on an abrasive front. that's a tsundere#alisaie is sort of an insane feat of localization. new levels of technology previously unheard of#'alisaie is like my badass wlw little sister' okay...yes. let's go with that. please ignore the ass shots in the trailers.

since pepper was asking for it something that girls do that always makes me think 'cool gender' is not change their names despite it being historically masculine and re-defining the name through their identity and relationship to it.
#dylan mulvaney springs to mind. of course. along with some less famous examples.#shes a great example to give because a lot of things about her align with ideals of cishet feminine ideals and she could've changed her nam#to match. but chose to keep dylan. great gender moment#another thing that i always think is a cool gender is girls who understand femininity as non-necessary addition and arent afraid of#masculinity being a detractor in their appearance#this includes things like girls who talk openly about their dick or dont tuck or a girl i saw recently who rocked a full beard with#lashes a wig and a full beat#and donning a butch identity as a trans girl is always a 'cool gender' moment. especially if she feels little to no need to change much#about herself. the pressures to change yourself as even a cis woman are so high that cis women earn 'cool gender' points from other cis#women for openly combatting them by not performing. the same should be extended to trans sisters#i feel like the 'cool gender' moments most often live in autistic transmasc communities. who are more interested in the metaphysical.#(and there are less fun masculine compliments out there to give so cool gender exists to fill that hole)#but i agree with her. more trans girls and transfeminine people should be seen as people with 'cool genders'#not thinking of donning femininity when thinking of cool genders is indeed misogynistic. dare i say transmisogynistic#hope you guys enjoy me dickriding (so to speak) for the girls every few months. as pippa has pointed out to me many times its a core part o#who i am#what did she just send me hold on#'i prefer “niche enjoyer” to chaser actually'#(in response to me saying something about trans women being the niche in the lgbt im most drawn to. theres no way to say that without#it sounding weird. something something fetishisation often means genuine appreciation reads as predatory making uncomplicated love seem#impossible which further marginalises the fetishised community etc... im just chatting shit u get what i mean)#im like a platonic chaser. unless youre interested in doing something unlabelled with an emphasis on the psycho of psychosexual in the note#i would say that that role has already been filled but who is interested in upholding monogamy in this day and age
