My husband uses our “classroom” as his office when school isn’t “in session” and in order to swap locations before his call this morning, I would’ve had to interrupt some serious paw patrol imaginary game happening...so I set our things up in the front window instead. I like going downstairs to help us all focus, but I’ll admit it was nice to be upstairs and get some things done around the house between activities. . We talked about our letter B crafts and reminded ourselves how to write B’s. Then we read a favorite — A Big Guy Took My Ball. And flew threw our trays today...a bit faster than I had hoped but that’s okay. Most were the unused activities from yesterday w a few modifications: . 1. The bee book and shapes . 2. We used sponges to paint bananas— we’ve never painted with sponges so that was smthg fun and different. Don’t know that the finished project really looks likes bananas...not the best cutting skills on my end 🤦🏼‍♀️ . 3. Bus coloring pages . 4 & 5. Letter dot pages and mazes with highlighters. I was sure M wouldn’t be able to do the maze but she literally AMAZED me — followed the Bs all the way though. So darn cool to watch her little brain working so hard! Plus they liked the bunny sort in there too. . 6. The learning resource bugs were a great hit! I made a little gameboard real fast and they used the tweezers to move around. . Afterwards, H’s real teacher had them do a shape scavenger hunt via zoom. We are so lucky their teachers welcome siblings bc M loves these activities as much as H does. OCEAN DAY...Today we learned about the ocean. We dressed as sailors and explored David's room looking for all sea creatures we could find. Then we played flash cards with sea animals and also painted a few with "mucha agua". When we finished papi took a picture of us with one of the new animals David learned about today, the crab. In the end, David wanted more on animals so we started or zoo lessons and games. Now, watching the Little Mermaid with lunch. We've been seeing documentaries on the ocean like the dolphin one from @disneyplus as well. I wish I could have taken him to the @aquaticaorlando or @seaworldorlando and to the beach this weekend. But that will come next year. Part 2/2 Saturdate with Melody - Took a bus from Victoria Theater to Furama Riverfront Hotel. Decided to head to @wakawakasg today for an unlimited playtime session. Yesterday we FACETIMED with the EASTER BUNNY!!! We dod a live interview with the Easter mascot thanks to @pooofproductions . Did you know he speaks English and Spanish? He told us how he is also taking care with the virus by practicing social distance. He is desinfecting all the eggs, wearing gloves when he leaves them and since he can't spend time with the kids in person to take pictures, he is having videoconferences with them worldwide and saluting them from the street in some cases. @pooofproductions is also building rainbow archs as a sign of hope in the front porches or yards of homes with balloons and connecting kids through videoconference with their favorite characters for birthdays or as a way to lift their spirits.
