Republicans used 'Russia is bad' to go after progressives in the 1950s. Red Scare, McCarthyism.
Now, these same Republicans use 'Russia is good' to go after progressives.
It was always about power, never about principles. Republicans will give away everything for personal gain.
#MoscowMarge is a perfect example.

With the media hyperfocused on Chinese weather balloons cruising higher than airliners that pose no threat to the population whatsoever, it's becoming fairly obvious a campaign of active measures is underway from the spooks at the CIA/NSA/State Dept.
Clearly this campaign is intended to manufacture consent for a major war. It seemingly now includes active measures to arouse anger and aggressiveness in the population.
Keep your eyes open for further implausible and artificial crises to come and don't fall for the propaganda we're virtually guaranteed to be bombarded with in the coming days and weeks.

ACTIVE MEASURES: STEREOSTATIC
Part zine, part anthology, part art book. I’m just so damn happy to have landed a copy of this from @EPHK’s store! From a tale of cute, tiny robots to the sudden realisation of what that octopus is doing to that lady, Active Measures is one to pull out and flick through while the kids are out of the house. 1001 10 1
Official synopsis:
“Active Measures is a new series of books by Electric Pick. Lodging itself between the zine and the art anthology.
A graphic mind trip, a visual adventure in various mediums dedicated to all the random visions and concepts floating in the Electric Pickavers.
80% new work, 20% older remixed work, 100% new ideas never before printed, mixing analog and digital mediums and pushing them as far as they can go. This project is as much a conduit for specific ideas and visual concepts as it is a graphic experiment in layout, giving every spread in every book in the series it’s very own personality.
Although we’ve stuck as best we can to the founding principles of the Zine focussing mainly on accessibility and propagation with low cover prices, it is wrong for us to describe it as one since its production quality makes it impossible for us to give it a true Zine cover price. However, the goal of this new art book series is, in the best of our ability, maximum dissemination.”

Silent Invasion: How China’s Greatest Covert Operation Fooled the US, Stunned Australia & Shocked the World
By N. C. Bipindra for EurAsian Times
The democratic world is bracing for the possibility of Communist China emerging as a global superpower dislodging the United States to take the top slot or at least rise as one of the two poles in geopolitics.
As this reality hits them hard, the democracies now realize how deep the inroads made by China’s spy agencies in their administration and civil…

The most moderate, nuanced and productive people I have discussed the Israel-Hamas war with have been Jews, Israelis, and people with Palestinian family. Everyone directly affected by this just wants it to stop and to have peace and safety in the region in a way that minimises the casualty count.
The most extreme and performative and vile things I've been told are by people who have no connection to this and like to think they are experts because they have covered adjacent topics during learning, or read stuff online.
If all the randos in the west would just shut up for ten minutes and let those of us actually affected, with an understanding of the history of the land and the culture and the generational trauma experienced by Jews and Palestinians alike talk, we might actually have a chance to salvage this and stop it spiraling

i love it when bad is very specifically a good roleplayer by giving other people good prompts. like casually bringing up wilbur now to tallulah. or when he put missa in the petting zoo. or all those times he Tormented the Lesbians so they could protect each other from him. its just so !!!! I love watching roleplayers be considerate of other roleplayers and gleefully hand over something they Know the other person's character can react to. i've seen cellbit do it, too (that time he handed his knife to bbh. oh my god). it's not a rare thing, and it's possible to be a good roleplayer without keeping that sort of considerate back and forth in mind, but its one of my favourite things to notice. foolish does it too, sometimes- i haven't watched him much, but i did take note of when he Made Sure to bring jaiden along with him on a cucurucho quest. and basically every interaction he had with bad when the eggs were missing. its just so so good

I just realized that Arya's wrath at Chiswyck for recounting the cruel gangrape of the innkeeper's daughter is as much about justice as it is personal. She had seen the soldiers assault girls while on the road to Harrenhal and she was terrified for herself. She had seen them cut one of the girls down when she resisted and she, herself was threatened with rape by Rorge. Before Jaqen offered her 3 boons, she felt helpless and weak, reduced to a squeaking mouse from a ravenous wolf. It was traumatizing, it was humiliating, it was a prison that she had been forced into.
So the soldiers laughing about raping Layna, brought all of it back up, it made her see how little her fear ( and Layna's fear) mattered to these men, how little the violence meant to them. It was a joke to these soldiers while Arya felt her fire die everyday. It makes sense why Chiswyck would be the first name Arya would give Jaqen and I am so fucking proud that she did.

I know I haven't said much about it, but legitimately, "running away" was one of the most pivotal life decisions I've ever made. Probably THE first major life decision I've made, and also the best. If you have an opportunity to go, leave. Get out of there. If you are not safe at home, emotionally, physically, whatever, and you're able to leave, do it. It's going to suck such major ass for a while because you're going to have to deal with the scars they've left on you, but I wholeheartedly, full-throatedly, with-my-chest promise you that it is going to be better. You're going to be better. If you have the privilege of being able to escape, no matter how difficult it feels, then RUN.
