im the only one working in my little office (normally shared by two others) today so i dressed down a bit cause. whatever. and tbh i tend to overdress anyway but my boss's boss chose TODAY to come say hi.....so he walks in he's in a suit and im sitting here. two hours into detangling a coding issue. and im no makeup in a big sweatshirt and fuzzy boots and discworld socks and my big goth leather coat i never wear to work and it's just like........ok he knows too much abt me now

tbh, i feel like ppl who leap to paint wake as a "bad mom" are doing it from a place of misogyny. as you said, Gideon's feelings towards wake are totally valid, but imo we should talk more abt how wake being so desperate that she had to impregnate herself with the material of her enemy is actually horrifying. of course she wasn't going to have any maternal feelings towards g; she already had pash, and the whole pregnancy must have just felt like a massive violation on every level
i think this is actually responding to @pyrrhadves' post more than mine, and i don't want to speak for him, but i definitely agree with this. the tendency to reduce characters who are mothers (and even female characters who aren't) down to "good mom/bad mom" is common across fandoms but i think it's particularly egregious here; wake never wanted to be a mother, was clearly desperate to do anything that she thought might kill john and dismantle the nine houses that had been persecuting non-house peoples for nearly ten thousand years, and was also clearly traumatized by the act of impregnating herself and giving birth (the reproductive equipment and the notes to augustine and mercymorn in the river bubble come to mind). and the trauma of this is a continuation of a larger theme of autonomy violations and reproductive trauma that we see throughout tlt. obviously you can feel however you want about choosing to impregnate yourself specifically to kill the baby (though i think that a lot of people ignore wake's motivations for doing so and try to make it out to be less complicated than it is), but to reduce her whole character "gideon's awful mom" is a real disservice both to a complex and interesting female character and to tlt's overarching themes.

ur post about eunchae, ure so right i really can't wrap my head around how many grown people on twt are jumping to defend hybe for making a minor twerk on stage. like these people cant even take constructive criticism even when its purpose is to protect a member of their fav group.. what even is there to say... i genuinely also think stan kpop culture has rotted some peoples brains. ten years later when female idols will talk about how traumatic it was for them to wear certain clothes or do certain concepts at such a young age i hope these fans remember they were complicit.

my apologies to bravern himself but my own committment to the bit is not nearly as powerful as his bc i cannot figure out how to get the number ten into the word bravern [sadface]
ANYWAYS THOUGHTS god i loved this ep............lulu.......bang brave bang bravern is abt loving ppl so damn hard you take the narrative itself into your hands and give them a better ending. when superbia said that basically verbatim i YELLED
thank god this show is only 12 episodes cause i have a feeling they are gonna explain the time travel logic of NONE of this and i am so happy about that LMAO. just do it!!! have fun!!! this is a wow cool robot show i don't care abt the paradoxes or whatever i'm having a good time lmao. i mean i'm not opposed to them explaining it but it would def melt my brain. also i feel like if it ran past 12 eps it probably would've gone for a more monster-of-the-week situation at parts and also the ~mystery~ of bravern himself would've gotten pretty frustrating so i am just. rly loving the pacing overall tbh

on perhaps the only serious note of this whole post i am thinkign SO hard abt how like. even in the Bad Ending Timeline, isami and smith/bravern still achieved their goal! like. the world was saved! it looked fairly peaceful! the deathdrives (minus superbia but he was just kinda chillin) were gone! they'd done their job and that wasn't enough! and i am ALSO thinkin abt bad-ending-bravern's last words being abt the curry he ate while human.........i mentioned this already but i think my prediction is leaning slightly more "human smith comes back somehow" after this ep. i still think it could work with whatever route they go tbh, but those factors plus ofc bravern saying "there are things that ONLY YOU HUMAN SMITH can do for isami" are making me think that we gotta like. Get Smith Outta There or something ("you have been saying this since like ep4" AND I HAVE NOT BEEN PROVEN WRONG YET!!!! [is immediately proven wrong when the preview drops on sunday LMFAO]) i DO wonder what would happen to bravern himself in this scenario however because he is a funny guy and i do not wanna lose him either :[ but tbh i'm just excited for the ride that the final two eps will deliver :]

we are SO smart, thank u for this message, dear anon, u have The Taste 🙏
Yvette is such an interesting character for me but it just makes me sad whenever I think abt her cause the canon shut her off for literally no reason. she's there since the beginning, she should be an active figure, she's literally Rhys' best friend. yet all the bad writing decisions make her seem like a bad guy when,, she's rly not. she's just defending herself in the heartless Hyperion landscape. not to mention, she admits that she only took the deal when she knew that they wouldn't do anything to Rhys. she was just desperate, worried for her friends
but the narrative treats her horribly. not only the option not to shock her is hard to get in the first playthrough (which yields in her apologizing btw soooo) but also u have to make 3 SEPARATE CHOICES to actually save her from death. again, comparing to Vaughn who also double crosses u for (no reason) and game rly wants u to trust him. anyways, it's not abt him, I just love making choices that guarantee Yvette at the end of the game, it makes me smile
I don't wanna leave on a sour note so here are my Yvette hcs:
I usually can't decide where I want her to be the most post epilogue tbh. I see her either being with Helios Hellions, being their strategist (and not dying), helping the people. or I see her on a space journey across planets (with Sasha), learning abt new places and enjoying her time when her life finally belongs to her
tbh? in other scenario she deserves to rule Hyperion. with Blake by her side. just sayin
I hc her as a lesbian and my two ships for her are with Sasha (travelling, learning to let loose and exploring) and with Angel (they take over Hyperion together and work through feeling crushed by others, while learning to be each other)
the orange shirt is just her work uniform. on her own she prefers to wear cold colors, like that purple she has for her character text
she doesn't go anywhere without her glasses
going off of her lunch theming and all, I think she is very into different cuisines and has a refined palette. during her travels she makes sure to taste the local cuisine
she and Rhys are the best gossip buddies and they love to go clubbing together during the weekends
her favorite flowers are roses and she would love to have a rose garden (her splash card has roses!)
she also deserves to be a nerd! I think she's very into Bunkers & Badasses and with her strategic sense, she always maxes out the best stats for her characters

2. our tainted love - admittedly this series hasn’t been finished yet (oops) but i’m so excited to write & finish this series i have it all planned out and it’s so JWNDNWNS i love it
3. playing cupid - the second fic i ever posted here wow … it got so many notes and i was so so shocked and so eternally grateful it holds a very special place in my heart & it’s very cute
4. doodles - i’m not joking when i say this was written at 5am neck deep into a writers block but the idea was so cute & even tho i probably could’ve written it better i still love it and it also got a lot of notes which was very shocking because it was my 5am sleep deprived writing
5. i’m sorry - this was lowkey a vent fic so it holds a special place in my heart even tho it’s quite angsty but it felt so good to just write this fic it was actual therapy for me
