I downloaded Better Exceptions and I'm thankful that it wasn't as terrible of a report as I thought it might be. I think the worst I have is duplicate CC (rather than an issue with mods) and the report makes it very easy for me to fix. I wish I had remembered to download this sooner. 😅

#Day 166#Warrior Cats#Warrior Cats OC#OC: Shiningdrop#Tumblr really killed the quality on this lol#Weird because this is the same file type and relative photo size at 1110x1826px#Maybe it's because the simplicity makes it more obvious to me?#I pulled out my old drawing tablet that I used from 2018-2021 and some of 2022 and how is this thing still alive#Like sure 3-4 years isn't a horribly long time but I took such horrible care of that thing and I broke my first one that I got#on christmas of 2016 after a year and my brother had the same second one and his broke a year in when he took much better care of it#I ended up spending 4 hours on this because I'm not used to MS Paint but using the tablet itself felt so natural#I'm using an actual tablet - like handheld device - for art now and so happy that Clip Studio's UI is exactly like the desktop version#because I'm so used to art program UIs made for desktop - not ones with everything hidden away in menus (well some things are)#But only a couple of things that are tucked away in menus I use frequently and it's become muscle memory#It really sucked learning to use the tablet at first but this challenge especially helped me get more comfortable with it#Turning this into a speedpaint that I'll add onto the post later#2023 Daily Drawing Challenge

last night i started rereading david copperfield. i've read so much new literature this year, i wouldn't say im "burnt out" but i feel like im cycling through things so fast that i... i dont know. i dont feel like i get to have them melt into me as satisfyingly as they used to although that might also be a product of how i feel about my overall *life* right now, idk. deep stuff but anyway.
i havent read a novel in almost four years. i have been too ashamed to pick them back up and i left off in the middle of the professor by charlotte bronte, which i always felt ashamed for being unable to finish. someday ill reread the beginning and finish it, but yadda yadda yadda i hate that nagging feeling that i HAVE to do something. reading should not feel like a chore. which is also how ive felt about my reading plays at such a quick rate this year. not that its a CHORE, like im not enjoying it, but like it's a daily task im distracting myself with to get some temporary pleasure and im cycling from one to the next at an almost monotonous rate. i can't keep living in my imagination like this. hiding from the world and pouring myself into new ones.
i always figured id want to reread david copperfield someday, too. it's one of my three favorite novels ive ever read (not that ive read SO many novels, but still). i think of it often. and i dont think of it like it's a highly literary or intellectual novel. i think of it like an old sitcom or a newspaper strip. like a victorian peanuts or full house. i've never forgotten a bunch of the characters' catchphrases and i've continued to slip them into conversation with people who don't understand them just to overly-explain a joke that only i'm really going to find funny. because that IS the kind of person i am.
ive only read the first four chapters so far. i just cant wait to get to aunt betsey's place, to be honest. i didn't even think about this part... this is the first novel i'm reading since i became an aunt. i never had a character in the book i related to *too* much; i had certain things in common with dora and i loved her, but we weren't one and the same. but my niece is only two and a half months old and i already feel like oh yeah. oh yeah i'd take this little girl in after she ran away from her abusive boarding school. i'd provide for this girl. i'd raise her with my neurodivergent friend that i live with. i would do ANYTHING for her.

#PORTUGUESE PEOPLE DON'T SEND HATE PLS LOL IT'S NOT BAD IT'S JUST WEIRD#Turma da Mônica is so Brazilian that any other Portuguese dialect just sounds so weird lol#especially portuguese from portugal which is so different from our portuguese#in english it's very different like Mônica's voice is nothing like her original voice#which doesn't make me surprised bc americans change everything#but it still fits her and the rest also seems cool to listen#the spanish one sounds funny too SORRY but it's adorable the voices just fit#the japanese one was the one who most matched with the original voices omg#CASCÃO'S AND CEBOLINHA'S VOICES IN JAPANESE OMG PERFECT#i really hope this latest season gets dubbed in other countries bc it's the best season so far#I REALLY HOPE MAN IT'S JUST AMAZING#like the episodes i watched dubbed were all from my childhood so they're very old episodes#and the cartoon improved SO MUCH after years#like the 2018 season still makes me laugh whenever i watch it#but this latest season omg it HAS to be dubbed#in european portuguese too lol

What is going on?! There has been little new music coming out from bands I love pretty much since covid at least, and now, there's not only a new Megaherz album but within a few days also the new ASP album, a new Oomph! album, a new song from PAIN and a new Indica song for the first time in like ten years???

#art review#year in review#art summary#art meme#my art#i wanted to look at them together :)))#i feel like 2018 is a solid start#2019 was a little rough as i learn a new medium [digital art]#2020 was mw sort of finding brand stability in the types of pieces i did#2021 was pushing myself to really improve with focus on texture and unintentional focus on lighting#and 2022 was a fucking STRUGGLE trying to learn how to put art out consistently while working full time#like for example. jan feb march of this year. i only put out one piece each month#bc i rly dont like my job lmao and it took so much out of me >moving cross country >starting first full time job >moving AGAIN across town#also the piece from july looks wonky to me now but it still is the most polished thing from that month bc i did a bunch of quick art fight p#ieces#unintentional themes for this year: realism. red/teal palettes [or more generally warm/cool contrast].#almost exclusively music fanart or mh/sta stuff#idk im always over critical of my year in review stuff when i first make them then warm up as i become nostalgic#you can also notice a trend of yellow slowly becoming completely absent from my works. this is bc my old laptop had issues with displaying#color and washed yellow out so i never saw it. hence why old drawings of ppl look RLY JAUNDICED. i couldnt goddamn see it#and i dont rly gravitate towards yellow too often#aqua is my fave color in general but also to work with#i didnt do 0 traditional art this year but i felt like i did less that usual probably bc i used to work on my bed but now i work at my desk#which is Very Small and doesnt have a lot of space for me to get out pens or paints or whatever#that and also. less time and energy than in previous years :(#my faves for each year by month: jan-21 feb-19 mar-21 apr-22 may-22 jun-22 jul-18 aug-22 sep-21 oct-#18/21 [tie] nov-21 dec-22 [altho i def seem to always push myself to make sth rly good in the last month of the year tbh]
