Given that you get something like this whenever you backtrack after completing any of the mouse puzzles in Cyber City:
I like to think that Rouxls had been following Kris/the Fun Gang around for a decent chunk of time prior to his fight. At least during the City section of the Cyber World, anyway; before then, he was probably doing all the stuff that Swatch and Sweet, Cap'n, and K_K talked about. And after that he was preparing for his battle with them in the Acid River.
Exactly why he was following them, I haven't decided. What feels the most likely to me though is that he was searching for Noelle, since he had overheard that Queen was looking for her and wanted to impress her by capturing Noelle himself and delivering her to her. But he uh. Didn't actually know what Noelle looked like, so he never realized that the new reindeer Lightner that Kris was exploring with was the person he was looking for. ...And then he also got distracted by the Inferiore Puzzles That Daredst To Showeth Their Patheticke Faces To Him; The Great Duke Of Puzzles dgshshdfs.
It's also possible that Rouxls was teleporting back and forth between Kris & Noelle and Susie & Ralsei, spying on both pairs (since hey, if he was looking for this "Noelle" person who he didn't know the appearance of, why would he exclusively stick around Kris?). And if so, that opens up the possibility for a thread (or multiple) with Susie and/or Ralsei to be set during that time!
Though... Perhaps there was also a (very very small, he would insist) part of him that wanted to check in on Kris specifically, because he knew that Lancer was still with them.

It's 3am and I've shifted from Riderposting to thinking about Lancer/Setanta and feeling weepy.
Because it's clear when he turned on us that it wasn't because he hated us. Like. He tried to talk to us. He tried to get through. He empathized with us. Not just his own Master but the mass of us - this patchwork of souls in whole.
And it backfired on him. Badly. Nearly got him, one of the most iconic heroes housed within the Throne, killed.
So it's no wonder he's decided to go full throttle this time around. He can't afford to second guess. Because if he tries the same trick twice, there's no guarantee it'll get the same result. He doesn't know if we'd hesitate, or slip up. If he gives us a single inch, this could be the time we actually beat him. And he can't - or doesn't want to - trust that anyone else will be willing to meet his resolve, to pick up where he left off.
Or maybe he just feels like it's his duty to finish the job. To make sure it's him, and no one else, that ends us.
I don't know whether he's grown to hate us in the time between then and now. But before - he probably just saw it as a mercy.
I mean, if you saw an animal going rabid, wouldn't killing it seem like a mercy? A kindness? Something you, a being with the power to offer this kind of ending, should do for its own sake? Isn't that what was happening to us, as far as we're aware at this point? Going rabid, losing our collective mind. A slippery slope into the depths of Madness, dragging our own Servants down with us like the most hateful kind of leash.
Can you blame him, really?
The curse of Gae Bolg is a curse of ending for the things that Cu Chulainn holds dear. He's already accepted the burden of death. No reason to look to anyone else when he's perfectly capable of getting the job done. No matter what it costs him, personally.
Cu Chulainn already accepted the costs when he chose to chase that star, all that time ago.
Of course, as Setanta - as a boy not yet bound to that fate - he might have other options still available to him. If he's willing to consider them. To see them as any kind of possibility without catastrophe being the likely outcome.
I don't know if it's possible to get through to him at this point. I just hope, before the end - whoever's end it ends up being - we get to at least share one drink with him.
It's also clear that fucking SOMETHING happened to us during our 'investigation' in the Origin War. That we weren't always a walking mass of Rage. Musashi said we were never the personable type, but that as time went on our Madness Infection got worse and worse. And even she wanted to try and save us from it... Not destroy us. Not until she had all that time to herself as a Nameless Shade, to turn her mind to the idea that maybe that was what it would take.
Was it us simply giving in to our nature, or an outside influence for the worse? I think it's a decent question worth considering and pursuing.

So what's up with kris being non-existent?
I tried searching your blog a little but couldn't find anything related to it, so I thought it would be easier to ask.
I wouldn't say they're exactly non-existent in Looking Glasses, I'd say they're more... haunting the narrative.
I wanted the setup of the comic to mirror the setup for Deltarune. Kris and Noelle are in their first semester of college, and the Looking Glasses gang are waiting for them to come back home for winter break. The comic is also set up to take place over a week, much the same as the game.
One of the things I'm most interested in examining in this comic is how relationships evolve and grow when some of your friends move away for college. So when Kris left, they broke up with Ralsei, whereas Noelle and Susie stayed together. Everyone is still friends, but those friendships have become more complicated as the characters move into adulthood.
I have plans for Kris, don't worry! It's just going to be a bit before they have a significant appearance in the comic proper.
But as a preview, I've drawn them a few times, a few times in the comic even!
#also there are tons of deltarune comics where kris is the main character or at least a significant protagonist#and they're really good!#I don't know if I'd really have anything to say about Kris that those comics aren't already doing better#Plus I just wanted to write a comic where Ralsei Susie and Lancer got to be the protagonists#But I am sorry that I haven't done more with Kris#I like them a lot!#It was mean of me to promise a Kralsei date in Everyone Deserves a Leather Jacket and then have them interact in two panels#I've got some plans for Kris and Ralsei that I hope might make up for that...#(also. a secret for those of you who've made it this far: I'm bad at drawing humans. My previously mentioned a couple times homie Angelo, using the colour scheme of the 2009 intersex flag because, and I quote directly from our dms, "The new colours just look kinda shit."
Right next to him we have my lovely sister from a nother mister, Viriel in her favourite colour with a trans flag on top as a nice little sprinkle instead of the main colour scheme because she is more than just her gender identitiy.
On the second picture we have the demi-alliance made up out of a hopelessly bi-romantic demi-sexual and my asexual demi-romantic lesbian fiancée under the conditions that we'll get married if we're both still single by 35 (and have the funds lul).

If you could put one (1) other Pandava sibling (or two if you pick the twins) in the game for Arjuna to hang out with, who'd it be?
see bhima is an easy pick bc he has a lot of easy-to-write personality but I kind of want yudhisthira. ONLY if they give him actual nuance though bc it’d be easy to just write him as being a jerk or whatever from modern perspectives but tbh he kind of gives more of this vibe to me
where he’s trying to bail out the goddamn titanic except the titanic is everyone trying to kill him and his family and everyone killing each other is inevitable and also nothing ever goes his way and he will be the only one alive in the end. like let him be just so fucking stressed and trying to do everything himself and when it starts going sideways he internally panics panics and is like ‘hold on guys I can fix it hang on I’ll fix it’ but it keeps getting worse and oh damn we all got exiled again :( except he’s the oldest brother so he can’t just lie down and cry he has to like, walk it off and come up w a plan so they don’t all die (earlier than they’re supposed to)
