Lord of Battles – 15th Century Medieval Leeds Brigandine!
In the later medieval period, brigandine armor was a common sight on men-at-arms and soldiers. Providing excellent plate-armor protection without breaking the bank, this armor was a popular choice among knights and well-heeled warriors of the time.
What made brigandine armor so practical? The overlapping plates worked together to absorb and dissipate the force of a blow, ensuring the wearer's safety. With its steel construction, the armor also offered near-immunity to cuts, making it a reliable choice for battle.
But brigandine armor wasn't just about function. Knights and warriors would showcase their status by adorning the shell backing with exotic and colorful fabrics, adding a touch of flair to their protective gear.
Step back in time and appreciate the craftsmanship and practicality of brigandine armor. Let us know your thoughts on this iconic piece of medieval history!

With all of this talk about chainmail, you’re probably wondering: what type is right for me? Swipe to see a curated selection of chainmail from Lord of Battles, available on Kult of Athena.
Dome Riveted: A method of riveting an open mail ring that uses a steel pin or thick wire which is then pressed and riveted to “mushroom” into a dome shape that holds the ring in place. This style of mail is common from Classical Antiquity until the later years of the High Medieval Period (Approx: 3rd Cent BC to 1300 AD)
Wedge Riveted: A method of riveting and open mail ring that uses a triangular wedge of metal which is then pressed to flatten and peen itself over the ring to hold the ring closed. Wedge-riveted mail has the advantage of the rivets having a flatter profile which is less likely to entrangle and catch on other rings and is less abrasive to any clothing or accessories worn over the mail. This style of mail becomes dominant in the later part of the High Middle Ages and the Late Medieval Period. ( Approx. 1300 to 1550 AD)
Butted: Butted Rings are Round or Flat rings which are not riveted closed, but instead have the open ends butted up and pressed against one another to close the ring. Not historically accurate.

🗡️The LK Chen Munich Town Guard Sword has a sharp and well tempered blade of GB 60Si2MnA High Carbon Manganese Spring Steel which hits a fine balance between rigidity for the thrust and necessary flex for resilience. Not only is the sword capable of decisive punctures on a target, but it can cut and slash with considerable ability! The complex guard is well-cast from stainless steel with a dull gray finish. The grip is bound in tight braided wire surmounted by wire knotwork. Included with the sword is a wooden scabbard which is bound in leather and completed with a protective stainless steel chape.

The axe is more than just a tool; it is a symbol of power and mastery. Its weight and heft require not only physical strength but also a deep understanding of its artistry. The one who wields this weapon must possess the skill to wield it effectively and with precision. It is through this combination of strength and skill that the bearer becomes a formidable and fearsome presence.
Large and intimidating, this axe is a weapon that demands strength and skill and thus it identifies its bearer as one to regard with considerable caution, if not outright dread.

Each sword gets closely inspected by Lancelot himself to ensure that they meet his approval for a sword deserving of the Supreme Cutter title.
The sword has a rigid and robust blade forged from well tempered GB 60Si2MnA High Carbon Manganese Spring Steel with a final tempered hardness of 50-55 HRc and sharpened to a fine and keen cutting edge and polished to beautiful reflective mirror finish.. The disk guard and pommel are of stainless steel with a sandblasted finish contrasted with a mirror polished rim. The wooden grip is tightly bound in blackened hand-wrapped cord. The sword is paired with a wooden scabbard which is tightly bound in faux black rayskin and is completed with a blackened brass locket and chape fittings. The scabbard is specially designed to ensure that sheathing / unsheathing the sword will not dull the blade edge.
