Tina Turner:" I used to be baffled about why I had to endure so much abuse, because I hadn’t done anything to deserve it. After I began practicing Buddhism, I realized that my hardships could give me a mission—a purpose. I saw that by overcoming my obstacles, I could build indestructible happiness and inspire others to do the same. Then I could see everything that came my way, both the highs and the lows, as an opportunity for self-improvement and for sparking hope in others. "
I never considered giving up on my dreams. You could say I had an invincible optimism. And I always knew that the “what” was more important than the “how.” In other words, although I had a hard time seeing how I could make my dreams come true, I focused more on what I wanted to achieve in my life, personally and professionally. I took actions day by day, often outside my comfort zone, to better myself and bring me closer to those goals. In Buddhism we call this inner process of transformation “human revolution.”

Plaster Workshop
This morning I did the plaster workshop which I enjoyed a lot . I brought some underwear with me which I wanted to dip into the plaster and it worked well for me . I brought four with me to test . the first two didn’t work that well as I dipped them in too much plaster and they became heavy and started flaking . The last two worked well and captured the folds in the cotton that I liked . I learned that you have to be quick with plaster and it drys very quickly and starts to harden .
Wire Workshop
In the afternoon I went to the wire workshop with Elaine which I liked . I brought some line drawings I did of a hot water bottle as I’m looking at the idea of how we are supported through Menstruation and how that is temporary. I started by practicing the circle and square shape then made some plan sketches of my wire drawing . I found parts of it difficult like figuring out what shapes go where . I had to remove some bits as they were blocking the 3D element of the bottle .
I plan to continue developing this drawing more this week . I also plan to continue with plaster and want to look at making a mould of the hot water bottle which I think could be interesting.
