ok today was awsome😁😁😁 i went to a meeting for this extracurricular award thingy and there were literally 3 of us there and free drinks and chocolate ! and i made friends with this girl her name is yoyo and she seems really nice :3 i don't know loads about her but 1 conversation = besties in my universe. then i went to this cool as fuck shop it was basically huge stacks of cds and dvds and games and such and u could barely walk because they were just piled up everywhere.. and there was all random shit like golf clubs and violins and guitars and bike helmets as well.... i got some cds.... the guy there was sooo nice he asked my name and stuff and said if i needed any help with moving in and finding my way around and stuff he could ask me.. and he told me some of the good venues in the city they are so far away though Ugh....... well after that i took a different route home and found a bubble tea kiosk which was nice because i didn't think there was any nearby but it is literally 1 block away. so i got some nice bubble tea to make up for last week's horrendous state of affairs.. there was a guy in front of me who looked exactly like danny gonzalez and he ordered it with no tea so like literally just milk and sugar + the pearls. and warmed up. i mean whatever floats ur boat i guess... now i gotta catch up on a bunch of calculus auuuuuu

his younger self awakens big sister instincts in me meaning he would be SO fun to tease and annoy + root for + naively hope he grows into a fine young man. At that young age he is not yet broken so there is no fixing to be done, but I certainly could help set him straight! LMFAOOO I WAS GONNA SAYYYY and no it is not a bother! i don’t really consider this a mcyt blog, it’s more of “i’m posting whatever floats my boat and for the time being that’s probably going to just be mcyt (okay let’s be honest it’s really just george) for a while” so i’m 100% down to answer uni questions

the part about a studyblr feels like a genuine attack bc i used to have one back in high school, but i gradually stopped posting on it bc i didn’t have time to make my notes all pretty. lol ANYWAY tips on motivation and discipline... let’s see

first of all, i don’t think the advice of “get the hard stuff out of the way” works when it comes to hw. do all your smaller/shorter/ easier assignments first, because it’s easier to find motivation for something quick and there’s less of that “i have so much to do” anxiety once you get those out of the way.

if you’re having trouble finding any motivation at all, pick media you’ve already watched and enjoy (like your fav tv show or anime or stream or whatever) and play it while you do your homework. will you get much done? no. but at least you will have started, and honestly, i think just getting started is the hardest part. for me, sometimes when i use this strategy to get started on stuff i actually slip into the studying headspace, so it may be helpful in that regard as well.

bestie, you’re not going to like this, but wake up EARLY and start studying EARLY. this may not be applicable to everyone, but i’ve found that my brain is the most ready to learn and absorb information early rather than late at night. i’m much more productive then too. even if i fall asleep at around 3 am i’ll wake up at 7 am if i want to spend that day studying, then maybe going to bed early that same day.

TAKE NOTES WITH WRITING. seriously, write shit down. it’ll stick better than typing and you’ll be forced to actually engage with the lecture. shut that bullshit up chief about “oh but the lecture is being recorded...” we all know you’re not going to watch the recording. pay attention.

GO. TO. OFFICE. HOURS. even if u haven’t started on the hw yet, go to office hours, ask if you can stick around, and start on the hw there. i can not emphasize how great it is to get immediate help when you have a question. plus, most TA’s are willing to just straight up check ur answers, so go get that 100% in the assignment category. plus, when ur in that situation, you’ll feel like you actually need to get work done, which might motivate you to actually do something and stay focused through out.

for stem classes, DO PRACTICE PROBLEMS. you think you understand a concept? do a couple practice problems, and you’ll realize you don’t. seriously. work on the problems provided by your textbook (the answers will probably be on slader or smth) or ask your professor for some.

this is like.... specific to certain people, but if you like listening to asmr (and it doesn’t make you sleepy or anything) then give listening to asmr while studying a try. idk, maybe i’m just weird but it genuinely helps me focus. especially raffytaphy’s vids, i love that man

okay these are all the uni tips i can think of straight off the top of my head. sorry if these are generic or you’ve already heard of them before - regardless, i’m here to tell you they actually work and that you should listen to them LOL.
