Headmistress McGonagall has put Harry in charge of sourcing pungent delicacies for the Bloody Baron's deathday fest. My Thoughts: This is an absolutely hilarious comic that’s expressive, sweet, and cozy. The humor blends so naturally with the homey affection shared between Draco and Harry. Along with all the side characters (a round of applause for that Kreacher!!), this comic is bursting with life and love!

The poor poor insanity of this cat was so sad to read. I made it worse by giving him that fear and dread in his face. Then I decided to add all the prophecy around him!! There's the one about Leopard and Tiger joining to sit on bones, fire will save the clans, midnight is your friend, water will be her downfall, a river of blood will sweep away the clans, all four clans must unite, and the river will run red with the blood of brothers. I really enjoyed how I went about this one!

Week 43- Why are fairytales so important for children? -Aleks

For decades, children have been told fairy tales. Good fairy tales. Bad fairy tales. Fairy tales tell a story. They are either told or read aloud. I can remember how I used to go to my parents with my big book of fairy tales and ask if you could read me fairy tales from it. That day it was Snow White. The next day it was Sleeping Beauty. But my parents also read me King Thrushbeard or Little Red Riding Hood. And even today my older sister reads fairy tales to my nephews and niece, or they are told fairy tales in kindergarten or school. Fairy tales accompany us from an early age. But why are they so important for us? For our development? Bruno Bettelheim a famous psychoanalyst and child psychologist published during his lifetime several articles and even books on the subject: Why do children need fairy tales.

He made the statement that children need fairy tales for many different reasons. On the one hand, they are needed to understand the thinking and acting of children on the levels of their brain (cf. Bettelheim). According to him, fairy tales are not untrue. They originate from fantasy. How can something be wrong there? (cf. Bettelheim) Bettelheim put forward the thesis that children can process inner conflicts with the help of fairy tales. Fantasy should help them to solve conflicts (cf. Bettelheim). He orientates himself very much on the theories of Freud. That children learn through fairy tales life wisdom to process in oral and oedipal phases, conflicts and fear of sexuality, self-destruction, etc. (cf. Bettelheim). It helps them that fairy tales for the most part end positively.

With these reasons of Bettelheim, which have been held for years and are considered an important theory by scientists, it can be said that fairy tales are important for the development of children.
