in half your classes simon is smoking so much it’s making you sick, you can barely focus. baz is no where to be seen but the two of them have always been a packaged deal before…it’s strange without the spit wads and punches always been exchanged…

then baz is back! not that you care, you were just getting used to the relative silence (despite the humdrum’s attacks). you’re studying for midterms in the library and you are suddenly magically pulled to see simon outside fighting a dragon . with baz. as soon as the spell wears off, you go back inside. you’re sick of their drama and you have tests.

the fighting that had been a near constant for all of your watford years seems to be missing, you notice, being nostalgic about your last year. some crazy stuff seems to have happened, and simon and that girl he always hangs out with—penelope?—never came back. baz delivers a speech without once being interrupted by simon yelling about vampires. you’re idly wondering where exactly the chosen one could have gone after his prophecy had been fufilled, when you seeing baz-bloody-pitch DANCING with simon snow!! and then they KISS, in front of EVERYONE. you’re dumbfounded. their rivalry practically was the graduating year’s defining trait!

I love how in the Simon Snow trilogy the magical room mate picker thingy saw Simon and Baz and thought "ha ha. gay." and made them share a room for seven years.

COC 21 ⁘ Begin Again

I get a bit choked up during the school song; there’s this line about “those golden years at Watford / those glowing, magickal years”—and it makes me think again about how this is it. Every day I have this year will be the last day like it.

I’ve been visiting family for the past few days (and will continue to do so throughout the rest of COC), so I’ve been drawing these in the dark while everyone else is asleep. Sorry if the colours are weird! Not to mention I’m still doing the whole non-dominant hand thing, so I apologize for the wonky lettering, too.

The fact that Simon went from:

Not touching Baz unless it was a punch to

Awkwardly bumping his shoulder for comfort to

Doing it again, less awkwardly

Grabbing his shoulder and giving Baz his magic to

Holding his hands as Baz showed them stars

All in about a day says a lot about Simon. He just wanted any excuse to touch Baz after he realized that they don’t have to constantly fight each other.
