The recent visit of Fortunate and Xavier Foundation to Kiboga District in Uganda marked a significant milestone in our mission to empower marginalized communities. Rooted in the Oasis Initiative - 'Ripples of Change', our journey to Kiboga was inspired by the EduFam Revolution's profound impact on education, family reunification, and skill empowerment for marginalized individuals. Our dual objective was to spread joy and provide access to clean water, a basic necessity often overlooked in many parts of Uganda. Understanding the challenges faced by the community, particularly children who had to walk over 8 miles to fetch water before attending school, we embarked on building a borehole to ensure sustainable access to clean water... !!IMPORTANT!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Due to the recent conflicts in Uganda, many people have been misplaced from their home country and put in unsanitary and unsafe refugee camps. These are the people living in the Kakuma refugee camp located in northeastern Kenya. These people live in very poor conditions with very little food (every person gets only 3kg of rice and 1/2 liter of cooking oil for one month) no beds, and no clean water. In addition to health hazards, LGBTQIA+ residents are subject to hate-motivated attacks and are not given protection. I am a minor, so unfortunately I can not make a gofundme, however I will be linking charities that you can donate to that will help:

MrBeast’s Philanthropic Effort Draws Unexpected Backlash for Constructing 100 Wells in Africa to Supply Clean Water Because He is “White” (VIDEO)
Tumblr media
youtube
The best thing that could happen to Africa is for them to be recolonized.
The well-known philanthropist and YouTube giant, MrBeast, has encountered a wave of criticism after his latest project in Africa.
Jimmy Donaldson, popularly known as MrBeast, faces a fresh wave of scrutiny following the release of his new video showcasing the funding and construction of 100 wells across various African nations. The digital philanthropist anticipated backlash, stating he expects to “get canceled” for his charitable actions, which have historically drawn fire.
MrBeast, who has previously faced labels such as “white savior” and been called “demonic” for his humanitarian content, has now been accused of overshadowing the efforts of local governments and international organizations. His initiative, stretching across Cameroon, Kenya, Somalia, Uganda, and Zimbabwe, will provide clean drinking water to approximately 500,000 people.
The wells were constructed in villages and schools across Africa and were created using giant drills to access pure water sources underground.
In addition to the wells, MrBeast’s video features donations of educational supplies to Kenyan schools and the construction of a bridge to facilitate community access to medical facilities and educational institutions.
Even Costco Is Now Selling Gold Bars – But How Do You Buy Gold if Your Money Is Wrapped up in a Retirement Account?
Despite the tangible benefits of these projects, the social media star has been met with mixed reactions.
“I already know I’m gonna get canceled because I uploaded a video helping people, and to be 100% clear, I don’t care. I’m always going to use my channel to help people and try to inspire my audience to do the same,” the social media star wrote.
Taylor Lorenz, a far-left reporter, addressed the concept of monetizing kindness, suggesting that the YouTube star’s approach could be perceived as exploitative.
“No one is “cancelling” you for “helping people”, you’ve received extremely light criticism in the past for the way you’ve monetized “kindness” content that some vulnerable people found to be exploitative,” said Lorenz.
“Encouraging young people to exploit vulnerable communities for content which they can then profit off of enormously, is the issue,” Lorenz added.
No one is “cancelling” you for “helping people”, you’ve received extremely light criticism in the past for the way you’ve monetized “kindness” content that some vulnerable people found to be exploitative.
Meanwhile, Albert Nat Hyde, a Twitter activist, rebuffed the idea of Africans needing water donations, criticizing what he views as a capitalist agenda beneath the guise of charity. He also added that the word “wells” is offensive.
“Wells in 2023 is offensive; why not boreholes or pipe-borne water? – Africans do not need water donation; we ain’t that poor and thirsty. – Africa is a continent with 54 countries; he must be specific where he went – This is capitalism; he wanna low-key use these countries for profit – He has set Africans for global ridicule by building wells we never asked him for,” Hyde wrote.
Mr Beast 100 wells is disrespect to Africans – He described the entire Africa as a village with its people living in huts – He projected that all Africans lack good drinking water – Wells in 2023 is offensive; why not boreholes or pipe-borne water? – Africans do not need water… pic.twitter.com/X8k12kvdp3 — Albert Nat Hyde (@BongoIdeas) November 5, 2023
Francis Gaitho, a Kenyan political activist, argued against what he perceives as a perpetuation of African stereotypes, accusing MrBeast of reinforcing the narrative of African poverty for content views. Gaitho emphasized the continent’s desire to move beyond philanthropy that serves external interests over genuine developmental progress.
“America is part of the problem,” said Gaitho, adding, “And you, Mr. Beast, are not supposed to be coming here to validate some of these long-held stereotypes that Africa is poor.”
MR BEAST IN KENYA Content creator #mrbeast was in Kenya drilling boreholes in 100 schools across the country. Also there’s a bishop from Naivasha called Abiud Masinde who has been accused by an American benefactor of stealing donor money meant to build a school. pic.twitter.com/QdZCwOamoy — Francis Gaitho (@FGaitho237) November 5, 2023
Saran Kaba Jones, the founder of FACE Africa, also weighed in, expressing the challenges of sustaining such humanitarian projects. She acknowledges the frustrations of seeing a well-resourced figure like MrBeast, a “white male,” garner immediate attention.
“I’ve been doing this for 15 years, but we’ve been struggling to continue the work because funding, awareness, and advocacy all take work,” Jones told CNN, adding, “overnight, this person comes along, who happens to be a white male figure with a huge platform, and all of a sudden, he gets all of the attention. It’s kind of frustrating, but it’s also understanding the nature of how the world is.”

Sponsor a Kid Through GFA World
Children all over the world suffer from the effects of poverty; one way to help them is to sponsor a kid. About 333 million children live in extreme poverty, with their family forced to survive on less than $2.15 a day.[1] Kids make up only a third of the global population, but they represent around half of those living below the poverty line.[2] While there has been some progress over the years, as many as 1 billion children are still multidimensionally poor, meaning they lack necessities as basic as clean water and nutrition. The consequences of this are grave. The poorest kids are twice as likely to die in childhood than their wealthier peers.[3] This is not just a problem for undeveloped nations; even in the richest countries, 1 in 7 kids live in poverty. But no matter where they are, children who grow up in impoverished conditions have poor living standards, develop fewer skills for the workforce and tend to earn lower wages as adults.[4] Thus, the vicious cycle of poverty continues and continues.
Tumblr media
Poverty reaches all over the globe, but it is especially prevalent in Africa. Over half of the world’s 5.4 million under-five deaths in 2017 occurred in Africa.[5] Around 36 percent of those African children’s deaths were caused by preventable and treatable illnesses like pneumonia, malaria and diarrhea. This problem will only continue to increase. By 2055, the child population in Africa will reach 1 billion, making it the largest child population on any of the seven continents. This growth is truly amazing, but it is not without struggles. Africa will need to add millions more healthcare workers and teachers to keep up with the growing number of kids, which is a difficult task.[6] Further, sub-Saharan Africa is the region with the highest education exclusion rates. Over one-fifth of kids between ages 6 and 11 are out of school, as are one-third of the children between 12 and 14 and almost 60 percent of those between 15 and 17.[7] Clearly, something must be done.
Tumblr media
One of the best ways to help these children is to sponsor a kid in Africa. Researchers conducted a study on the efficacy of child sponsorship using Compassion International’s program.[8] They found that sponsorship significantly increased the total years of schooling and completion rates across all levels of schooling. The impact was especially noticeable for secondary school, which saw an increase of 12 to 18 percent above the baseline. The two African nations observed—Kenya and Uganda—both saw a significant impact of child sponsorship on education. Logically, the increase in schooling was also found to make a positive change in the probability of future salaried employment—up 5.1 to 6.3 percent—and movement into white-collar jobs—an increase of 6.5 to 6.7 percent. Not only that, but there is also some evidence that the program impacts participation in leadership.[9]
Tumblr media
Along with Compassion International, GFA World is facilitating a program where people worldwide can sponsor a kid. Our Child Sponsorship Program uses a community development approach, which displays the love of God by providing practical help according to the community’s particular needs. When someone chooses to sponsor a kid in Africa, charity options are endless. Whether it is providing clean water through a well, nutritious food, hygiene training and supplies, medical checkups and medicine or sanitation facilities, GFA works with community leaders to help meet the needs, allowing the kids to focus on learning and growing, opening up future opportunities they never dreamed of before. Vocational training for parents also lifts families out of poverty, making it easier for kids to regularly attend school. For just $35 a month from a sponsor, children have a greater chance at escaping poverty, and their families and communities are being transformed as well.[10]
Tumblr media
We have worked with kids and families living in Asia since our program launched in 2004. In that time, GFA has helped many children. In 2021 alone, a significant group of students in GFA’s Child Sponsorship Program graduated from high school and began pursuing brighter futures.[11] Now, you can sponsor a kid from Africa with GFA, too. Our work on that continent started with kids in impoverished areas of Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, which is one of the most densely populated African nations. Hundreds of children have already been enrolled, finding help and hope through the program. More will continue to join them and find sponsors throughout the coming years. As we get more established on the African continent, there will be many more opportunities for sponsoring a kid and helping provide education, growth and the ability to escape poverty.[12]

This is my research for my water sanitation and scarcity project
Research: MENA (Middle East and North Africa) Water Sanitation
* Note the first half is the raw research- I have it condensed down below if you’d like to read what I am actually planning on using for the project. It starts with the title “What is the Problem”
Key: Red- Stats that I may want to include
Green- Methods I may want to include
         Yellow- Impact
         This color- The Why
Charities
Development Media International
Uses the radio and short form advertisements to inform the public about water sanitation and the importance of it.
Currently the most cost effective way to conquer and inform people about drinking water, and saving the most lives possible.
Evidence Action- Charity I would like to focus on
Over 2 billion people lack access to water that is safe to drink. The problem is particularly acute in poor rural areas, where a lack of infrastructure leaves people to rely on open springs and shallow wells that are easily contaminated by human and animal waste.
Unsafe water is responsible for more than 1.2 million deaths each year. It’s a leading risk factor for infectious diseases, exacerbates malnutrition, and is the most common cause of diarrhea. Diarrhea is, in turn, the world’s second-leading cause of child mortality, claiming the lives of an estimated 525,000 children under five every year.
It doesn’t have to be this way.
Evidence Action focuses on providing Chlorination through dispensers and individually packaged Chlorine
Chlorine is effective at killing pathogens and provides protection for up to three days, ensuring water isn’t recontaminated when stored at home. For $1.50 per person per year, this gives people a reliable access to safe water.
Proof of it working:
“Our network of over 39,000 chlorine dispensers provides over 6.8 million people, including over 900,000 children under five, with access to safe water. Across rural Kenya, Uganda, and Malawi, we consistently provide water treatment in areas that aren’t reached by municipal systems – and at no cost to users or their communities. We leverage human-centric design, behavioral economics, community partnerships (including over 75,000 volunteers!) and an efficient last-mile network to achieve an average adoption rate of over 60%. We estimate that between 2015-2021, the program averted over 2.8 million cases of diarrhea among children under five.”
Oxfam:
Cholera is an illness that affected 100s of thousands and killed several thousand.
Method: In locations where women and children draw water directly from the river they created simple dispensers that release measured doses of chlorine solution.
Method: “Healthy wells” , climate change has caused the rivers in this area to overflow and go into the drinking water. This has resulted in the need to develop methods to prevent that from happening.
Tackling water shortages
The Life You Can Save:
 Charity Website
2.2 billion people still don’t have access to a safely managed water source — and there are 2 billion people with no basic sanitation facilities such as toilets or latrines.
over 829,000 people die from diarrhea caused by unsafe drinking water, sanitation, and hand hygiene. Over a third of those deaths are children under five.
Some good news: In the past 25 years, the global community has made great strides to bring clean water to 2.6 billion people and sanitation facilities to another 2.1 billion. When you donate to effective water charities, you’re helping make universal clean water a reality.
Research: World Health Organization
Over 2 billion people live in water-stressed countries, which is expected to be exacerbated in some regions as a result of climate change and population growth.
Globally, at least 2 billion people use a drinking water source contaminated with feces. Microbial contamination of drinking-water as a result of contamination with feces poses the greatest risk to drinking-water safety.
While the most important chemical risks in drinking water arise from arsenic, fluoride or nitrate, emerging contaminants such as pharmaceuticals, pesticides, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) and microplastics generate public concern.
Safe and sufficient water facilitates the practice of hygiene, which is a key measure to prevent not only diarrhoeal diseases, but acute respiratory infections and numerous neglected tropical diseases.
Microbiologically contaminated drinking water can transmit diseases such as diarrhea, cholera, dysentery, typhoid and polio and is estimated to cause 485 000 diarrhoeal deaths each year.
In 2020, 74% of the global population (5.8 billion people) used a safely managed drinking-water service – that is, one located on premises, available when needed, and free from contamination.
PRB Org
The Middle East and North Africa are the most water scarce regions in the world. 12/15 water stressed areas lie within this area.
¾ of the areas water lay within Iraq, Syria, and Turkey. Bahrain, Jordan Kuwait, Libya, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen are below 250 cubic meters per person.
The problem only gets worse with a growing population, as the population is expected to double within the next 50 years.  This is also that ⅓ of the population is below the age of 15, and many young women are reaching a reproductive age. High population growth causes additional pressures. Agricultural, industrial, and domestic
(water stressed when lies between 1000 cubic meters and 1700 cubic meters per person per year, water scarce less than 1000 cubic meters of renewable fresh water per person)
3% of the world's water is salt-free, with 70% locked away in icebergs
Methods:
Qanants and Rainwater Harvesting- chain wells
Sequential Water use- Water used in the household, then in industry, then in agriculture. “Brown water” is treated from cities and used in fields to be used in crops.
Desalination- Extracting salt from seawater, extremely expensive and uses lots of heat, and negative environmental effects. Also other harmful things may be in the water
Policies and Programs
Water relocation- away from agriculture and towards domestic and industrial. Threaten food security and livelihood of farmers
Less Water- Intensive Crops (away from cereal crops).
Efficient Technologies-  drip irrigation cuts water use by 30-70 percent and increases yield by 20-90 percent. This delivers water directly to the plant's roots.
Public Education- Increase local acceptance of new water methods.
Conservation- Voluntary conservation, integrate this message in schools
Economic Considerations- 3-5% of their income for access to clean water. Increase pricing.
Concernusa.org
884 million people lack access to safe drinking water according to WHO
Countries with the largest impact: Lebanon -drought in the ME, Economic crisis, poorly managed water systems” Pakistan
Diarrhea kills 2,195 children every day—more than AIDS, malaria, and measles combined—and can be caused by lack of access to clean water and sanitation services
United Nations 2023 Water Conference:
Importance:
“Without increasing health facilities' access to water, sanitation and hygiene, it is not possible to reduce the use of antibiotics to treat avoidable infections.”
“Alarming increase in cholera cases, with over 1500 lives lost since the outbreaks” The water sanitation problems came due to a tropical cyclone named Freddy, which caused floods and led to the loss of over 1000 lives. The population is now vulnerable as they are limited to clean water and sanitation. ``6 million Malawians did not have access to clean water before the cyclone, this number has significantly increased since then. THis means more people are going to be at a greater risk of suffering waterborne diseases”
Lost of mention and emphasis on the troubles of water sanitation for displaced people
Method:
Promotion and raising the importance for “WASH Systems of Health” to reinforce water sanitation and hygiene institutions.
CDC.gov
Uganda is where WASH, a United Nations healthcare program is located. The focus of this is to limit infections. This is done through both sanitizing the water and teaching health care professionals about the infections.
This site also goes into the fact that water diseases and sanitation is under researched in this area in the past decade, and how during Covid the need for this program was highlighted.
Healing Waters International
850,000 people die due to water sanitation problems
The WHO has given an estimated 2.6 billion people access to improved drinking water since 1990, so this is a problem currently being worked on and has solutions that are feasible.
Goals:
Safe and affordable drinking water
End open defecation and provide access to sanitation and hygiene reuse
Improve water quality, wastewater treatment, and safe reuse
Increase water-use efficiency and ensure freshwater supplies
Implement integrated water resources management
Protect and restore water-related ecosystems
Expand water and sanitation support to developing countries
Support local engagement in water and sanitation management
Good cite that goes more in depth about the technology and methods they use for sanitation: specific chemicals, clean bottles, sustainability, etc.
What is the Problem?
Who and what does it impact?
My focus for the project will be the MENA region: also known as the Middle east and North Africa. This is one of the most water scarce regions in the world.
I am also focusing on the fact that it is the world's second leading cause of child mortality, estimating 525,000 children under five every year.
I also want to reference the fact through my artwork that women and children are those who gather the water and it becomes their lives when they have trouble accessing water.
Who are you targeting with your campaign?
I am targeting those who know very little and may be inclined to donate and know very little about the area or situation
What can your audience do to help?
They can donate to one of the charities I will list and allow them to contact through a QR code.
Mission statement
Clean Water. Healthy Living.
No water no life
 Polluted Water is Poison
Life without water is impossible. Save a life.
$1.50 can allow a person for a year access to safe water

Tumblr media
If you're reading this article, you're probably lucky enough to have access to safe water whenever you might need it. It's shocking to think that there are still so many parts of the world that don't have this basic human right. Thankfully, there are an increasing number of non-profits and charities that exist today with the sole purpose of providing clean water and sanitation systems to those who need it. We've highlighted those worth knowing about below. 📌 Key Takeaways: - Nearly 800 million people in the world lack access to safe water, and 1 in 4 people don't have access to a toilet. - Non-profits and charities such as Blood:Water, Splash, and Water For Good are helping make clean water a reality in developing countries and beyond. - You can support these organizations by making a donation or get involved with local projects to benefit those without clean water in other parts of the world. 🚰 Why Are Water Organizations Needed? If you have a constant supply of clean drinking water, it can be difficult to imagine a life in which this isn't a given. However, for millions of people, the water crisis continues. According to the latest statistics from Water.org, 1 in 10 people - or 771 million of us - still don't have access to clean drinkable water. Islamic Charity For Muslim Crisis Around The World
Tumblr media
This goes without saying that Muslims are facing a dire crisis everywhere around the globe. Even the leaders of some of the biggest Muslim countries agreed upon this statement at the Kuala Lumpur Summit in 2019. Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir had also called for an implementable solution to this issue.
Just to give you a glimpse – 25 million people are displaced from the OIC countries alone as a result of war and foreign intervention. Around 1 million Rohingya people had to flee from their motherland because of genocide. The same goes with the Afghans and Uyghurs and the number is around 800,000 and 1 million respectively. And the condition of African Muslims needs no description at all.
These issues cannot be solved overnight. But somebody has to start from somewhere. MATW France believes that it is our moral duty to extend our helping hands to those who cannot even fend for themselves. We know that it is not a task of one individual. Rather, we should all come forward to have our fair share. So we are seeking French donors to contribute whatever they can to our MATW charity. We will use your donation to build sustainable solutions for the Muslims in Uganda, Togo, Syria, Palestine, Afghanistan, Lebanon, and Bangladesh.
Sadaqah Jariyah – The Most Beautiful Charity For A Muslim
Sadaqah jariyah is a charity that will continue to give you rewards even after your death. What can be more beautiful for a Muslim than this? Give your sadaqah jariyah to please Allah (SWT).
Tripoli Orphan Centre
Libya has seen an outburst of orphans in recent years. That’s why we are planning to open up a new orphanage in the nation’s capital. This new orphan centre will provide shelter, food, and education to approximately 100 poor souls. A property has been selected in El Mina, Tripoli for this purpose. Now we need your donations for the purchase and renovation works. Send us your sadaqah to provide a humane life to a Libyan orphan.
Togo Orphans Homes
Our orphanage in Kpoga, Togo was the first one that we established. And Alhamdulillah, we have been operating this centre since then with your generous charity for orphans. This orphanage needs regular maintenance and occasional renovation. We also need more books and materials for education. Join hands with us if you love orphans and believe that every orphan should have a better life.
Palestine Home Refurbishment
Palestine is under 50 years of occupancy and constant attacks. The Gaza strip and West Bank are completely devastated. Houses have been demolished, people are being forced to live under the open sky. They don’t have food, water, or treatment facilities. Donate to Palestine and let us refurbish the homes where possible to at least give them shelter over their heads.

Children's homes are encouraged homes for those oppressed children who are orphans and destitute. These foundations are devoted to the reason for destitute children. Orphanages for children give lodging to children who don't have guardians or grandparents or at the end of the day, any lawful gatekeeper to deal with them.

Tumblr media
*Poor monetary circumstances and neediness in the family
*Parental sickness which might be mental or physical
*Medication or liquor maltreatment by the guardians
*Mental hindrance of the guardians or the parents
*Imprisonment
*End of parental privileges on account of disregard or misuse. This might be a court rule.
*Confounded ailments that the family can't really like and consequently needs to forsake the child.
However, it should be undeniably challenging for guardians to leave their child yet conditions of urgency and destitution are to such an extent that they are compelled to turn to such drastic actions. Some of the time, the orphanage or the amigosii food security organizations in world wide is the main option for a portion of these sad children.
A large portion of the Best Orphanage For Ugandan Children is either state or central government-possessed establishments. These are, for the most part, non-benefit organizations and are intended to support the general public.

How Your Zakat Changes Lives
Your Zakat is a beautiful form of charity, and one of the five pillars of Islam; it is a form of giving that removes you from greed and provides the less fortunate with the support they need. When you make your Zakat donations with Penny Appeal, our 100% Zakat policy assures that 100% of your donations are going straight to the people who need it most – giving you 100% of the rewards!
In 2019, all your Zakat donations helped us care for orphans, support the elderly, promote education, deliver food to the hungry and provide fresh, clean water to those in need, Alhamdulillah! We were able to provide aid to thousands of people because of your Zakat, and that’s brought on some life-changing results.
It’s once again time to make a difference with your Zakat but before going off to calculate your Zakat or choosing one of our appeals to send your Zakat to, let’s have a look at some of the wonderful things you did with your Zakat last year!
people in Northern Uganda! With Zakat donations to our Thirst Relief appeal, we were able to build Solar Pump Water Wells in three villages throughout the Yumbe and Arua districts of Northern Uganda. Each well is equipped with ten water taps so there is no longer an issue with collecting water or having to wait for it.
Communities in these districts have always faced a challenge when it comes to having access to safe, clean water, but thanks to your Zakat thousands of people now no longer have to worry about dirty water, Alhamdulillah. Mr Kassim, a community leader from one of the villages in Yumbe, was so full of gratitude and joy for their new Solar Pump Water Well and the gift of water that was brought to them.
