THE WALTEN FILES: my jumbled notes on my blind run-in with this web series
first off this is gonna be long and unorganized, also this is my second time writing this as i had lost literally half of my progress and im This (imagine two fingers almost touching with a 0.0000000001mm distance between them) close to ripping all of the fucking hair out of my goddamn head. but now this will be extra long and yes, i will lose some accuracy to my first writing but thats okay ill probably edit this a kajillion times over
which brings me to my next tangent; im literally braindumping here. so to have a smidge of organization all afterthoughts, edits and corrections will be boldened, i forgot what im gonna do with italicized text but ill probably bolden it here yeah im pretty sure its for side tangents, separate from Corrections, which are in bold. also theyre for emphasis too.
so in general, this post right here is all of my notes i wrote down on my grid-patterned sticky notes (which i used WAYYYY too much of) about the first 3 uploaded walten files youtube videos transferred onto my handy dandy digital notebook, this b(l)og. yeppers peppers. you know im serious about this shit when i typed probably over like a thousand fucking words including boldened shit, italicized shit and motherfucking links, lost it ALL, and im sitting here re-typing it again.
i feel bad about this but im not gonna trigger warn right here, but this is technically a warning. if you want a list of triggers as to what this post (and the walten files in general) i will link a little list to that here
without further a doo doo, (mama mia) here the fucking fuck we go again.
THE WALTEN FILES - VIDEO #1
clarifying this now, im gonna put some useless shit which i thought was code onto this because even though it was useless it was part of my notes and im physically going to combust if i dont put down every single thing i wrote on my papers. so what i thought was code was in the closed captions, i started writing it down when i got to the second video but came back to my first videos notes to include them. i wrote down the first letter to every word that was capitalized in the closed captions, which i had on as a default because number one i knew going into this id need them because most web horror things like args and cryptic shit like that has some of the most crucial shits in the closed captions. number two i am autistic and have auditory processing issues and have most closed captioning on as a default if theyre available.
firstly jotted, i wrote down the closed captions “code” so im gonna put the rest here too: HYWITB(BSI)Y A(BSI)BJWFKWITW ILHHFSBBSBTLBWI USOISTBNBSFIRBCAWHSHCBWHTAIGRNB*C*BTWLTSFA(20)MCFP ILITIIACPH(1978, 1979)SA(4)YTSCH*C*OGSSU SFTGRPATDBBUTFBNLLCHMIHLBRALLCLAYTUKB*LC*WHATWASTHATTHING
the numbers in parenthesis are there because i wasnt sure they should be included in the “code” or not. i also thought of this with the BSI - bunny smiles incorporated and also the years 1978 and 1979. the shits in asterisks are coughs and light coughs, which were capitalized in the closed captions so i included them too just in case
i then jotted, in parenthesis of course, the names of the animatronics when they were listed in the animation section of the video; bon aka the blue bunny, sha aka the sheep one, boozoo aka the clown<3 honk<33, and banny aka the purpled eyelashed up one who is also a bunny btw. also i got boozoo the clown and boozoo the mustache guy confused because apparently the clowns name is billy???? but they named “boozoo” in bons sleepover and showed the clown? idk maybe im an idiot and theyre the same or just an idiot and theyre different or a super mega (matt and ryan?!?!??) idiot in general which is probably the case
i started drawing little stars to write down things i thought would be super important or to 100% look at again. the first subject of this pointy torture was the part of the video where at 3:00, i marked it down to make sure to reverse the audio as it was most definitely a weird audio that has that signature warp-y effect that makes sure you KNOW its in reverse. i then listened back to it Very carefully (still got it wrong) and got this: “you finally start to remember. that old doll. they will look out for you soon” im also pretty sure i heard “sophie” at the end of that audio but im not entirely sure and dont remember and i dont wanna go back to check lmfao but anyways it didnt matter because i was wrong anyway. after i had finished all 3 walten files i watched the film theory video on the walten files (which didnt cover all 3 but was dece.) out of curiosity and to hear matpats signature silly little voice explain some stuff i already knew, and click some shit in my brain that i couldve thought up of if i was a bit more... i dont know honestly. anyways yeah so the actual audio is “you finally start to remember. that old day. they will look out for you soon.” so yeah. day, not doll.
i then wrote down “sarah evelyn”, the name on the bons sleepover animation (i dont remember if she created it or animated it or whatnot) and scribbled will she matter? under her name. turns out no, as i didnt see her name in the rest of the series, let alone the first video. this is also a great time to mention how matpat theory helped me realize that the walten files are collections of videos, uploaded onto youtube by anthony. (i already knew about anthony as he signed his name in the descriptions of the youtube videos, making me categorize this overall web series more into an arg type genre.) but yes, the tapes, recorded “irl” footage, animated clips, vhs tape recordings and other audio-visual content is all collected and labeled the walten files, as i had mistaken each video to be a tape. stupid me. alrighty, onward!
i starred this one, good for me; MISSING: Jack Walten LAST SEEN: 06/11/1974
i jotted down with an arrow that; sophie was a nightguard? she was wearing the uniform explained in tape 2 i dont know why but i went back into my video 1 notes after i had watched video 2. organization purposes. i guess.??
i then paused the video when the screen flickered a date, the beginning of video footage dated 10/10/1982 (Brian Stells?) god my little genius ass assuming the videographer was brian stells, based on the id card i saw earlier.
i then wrote down what text i saw on the dead, mangled, bloody body in the purple security suit; “i cant feel anything” “he thought i was her” then drew a little arrow pointing to; thought brian was sophie? or ashley? i also starred the name Brian Stells this is totally out of order LMFAOOOOOOOO also i wrote down ashley because, again, my little pea brain went back on my video 1 notes after watching video 2. but yep thats all i wrote for The Walten Files 1 - Company Introductory Tape
THE WALTEN FILES - VIDEO #2
Tape #1 - created 07/02/1978
awesome how thats first and foremost in the captions. god. so sexy of you martin walls. /j /nsx
this pack of notes is chunkier because again, like i have mentioned before i am an absolute goober and thought the capitalized letters of the words would actually mean something. I MEAN MAYBE THEY DO AND IM JUST DOING IT WRONG but i stopped doing it after this video because holy shit it was exhausting and my stupid little fingers couldnt take the writing anymore becasue i am WEAK.
so write off the bat (squeak) i wrote down 197[] the blacked out rectangle over the last digit of that year and everything im also now assuming its probably 1978 or 1974 because lore reasons but whos to say but yeah i also wrote down this;
Tape #2 - created 08/13/1978
then, straight up in the beginning of the video i caught it, the flash of text, as i had by now realized i gotta be SUPER stupid focused on the screen in case i miss anything, i wanted to be crazy precise on my theorizing and mental notes, among other things. but yes i saw it, the first half of a youtube link;  “https://youtu”
claps hands together and rubs them evilly. oh yeah baby. thats the hot lunch. this shit right here? the cats pajamas. lets fucking go.
i wrote down this goofy shit i pasued to inspect when i saw bon sorting through a file cabinet and naturally scribbled down the labels and other written things i could see on the files;
relocate X/X/75 felix
storage K-9 07/23/1975 felix k(ranken)
Bons Burgers 06/28/1974 Jack Walten
Shipping Service 1975
New Location -> 1982
i also wrote down more goofy shit, like when banny was created for some reason; in 1974
starred, i noted to go back and reverse the audio at 5:09, when played back, i didnt write it down so i dont remember. lmao.
i also marked to screenshot and brighten the darkened image i saw at 5:20, i was going to do it on my phone then realized i can just do it on my computer so i quickly took a screenshot, brightened it and wrote down what i saw; a missing person poster that read MISSING: SUSAN WOODINGS(?) Last seen: 1974 i was very unsure of the spelling of her last name because the image was so goddamn low quality and grainy but its what i saw. this is where tape #3 gets thrown in, which im gonna type again because i like how the formatting looks;
Tape #3 - created 07/09/1978 (BEFORE tape 2?!//1/1??? its more likely than you think)
i wrote down more dates, any dates i saw, i jotted down. i wrote;
Technical Support 1978
then,
Brian Stells (for some reason i dont remember right now)
alrighty this is where the stupid capitalized letters come in, but before it looks like i vomit a keysmash time infinity on this, ill put down the little inbetween things i wrote in the midst of the caps lockalypse like timestamps and stuff, so here you go;
- Reverse at 8:16 which i did but of course didnt write down what i heard. i think it was too warbled to hear anything clear out of it, or it was just the good ol auditory processing issues fucking me over yet again. WAIT yep yes i did here it is: “rosemary would go to the restaurant every night hoping that [her] beloved husband would reappear after being missing for weeks but no response until one day [s]he heard a voice [saying] ‘i know where he is rosie’ coming from the back stage” the bracketed stuff is the corrections, i misheard the audio and thought the audio said “his”, “he” and “singing” like a nimrod
- Brighten at 10:14 which was another missing person poster, but i dont think it had any information on it because i didnt write it down, just;
- Sophie again (pic at 9:08?) (dismemberd and put in Sha) i was stupid and wrong haha idiot it was rosemary who was put in sha but anywho
i starred and underlined a huge thing i discovered which was;
- Walten had 3 kids which i dont remember how i found out but it doesnt matter, its good important info i uncovered.
- Tape #4 - Unkown Date
- recorded 07/12-07/14 1978
- Hilary B, Ashley P & Kevin W i made sure to get these names down as soon as i saw them on screen but then realized shortly after i wouldnt really need to have it as the closed captions made sure i knew which person was talking by using their first initial (capitalized of course) before each line of text. this is the perfect time to announce the arrival of the clusterfuck of capital letters, which is going to include colons which will indicate that the letter before it is the initial of the person talking. without further aedue, here comes another chinese earthquake;
TCWTSTATO(K-9)TBSSFWFCNEHAWBSUBIUC(BSIIDC)OWHISF INBIJTILNSPL(K-9)LCSCKCCCWTTLTLITTTYROTFAJAMHPYYSTCSPMBBWSBIB H:NTPPCCK:DA:HH:YCPRPMWTCBCRAWK:JH:SYYTCPBACPSTBAWCA:TK(?):FMTTCMK:TCPNOA:DTOFK:ITNPPRA:YBUTIRRFH:HKIBESRAIA:TCK:WA:WPCCFTRRIDPEH:GGK:GPA:LKK:WA:HNCGTKMK:YH:IGKA:ESK:MFH:RK:HILRLBNTRPPUWHITRRTPEIFEPH:YWBEBPK:MAHPBTRPTRPEL(LN)HTACPKLIKHPFITSKLTKLB(LB?)ISIBSUBIPRW AEBATHSPUAICTPURTWBBRPHTRTIIIILTCITCUCCP S(bpe, be)WA”IDCPBPSIB
holy shit its finally over okay now onto some MORE of what i wrote down in between and also after that keysmash attack;
12 doors? (backrooms) 27? 26? i was unsure because ashley was unsure too lmfao
found cassette (6/11/78) <- says “discard”? yeah it did
Tape in clown audio, speaking voice; jack, susan, charles(?), rosemary, sophie, last word sounds like “walrus” it was walten lmfao
Ashley died? yeah she did lmfao OR AT LEAST I THINK SO??
starred this one, Reverse @ 17:06, then got this;
“they left the next day, they thought ashley left early, but she was in the backdoors, screaming as much as she could, but no one heard the screams, the following days the caretakers would complain about an awful smell coming from the backdoors, company decided to shut down facility until new advice, the relocate project was unsuccessful. ashley is still there, but she is not screaming anymore, she saw something she wasnt supposed to see and now shes beautiful” the phrase “shes beautiful” was repeating like a bajillion times in that wall of text. then, god motherfuckng bless:
at 17:23 i found the other half of the youtube link, “.be/k07QqEDOfQ” i pieced that bad boy together as instant as i think any form of ramen could never be, but remained ever patient. because i made sure to jot down this before moving onto my next segment;
@ end of vid 2, “shadow man sees* me when lights go off” im an idiot *it was actually “feeds” not “sees”, which AGAIN, i only found out after watching the stupid little film theory video *begins snarling and foaming at the mouth*
okay im not proud to admit im editing this to post it and realized ive lost my notes. well.
might as well post what ive got! if i find my shit ill add onto this, i suppose.

Part 5
⏮Previous
Tumblr media
(The next day, John made the trip up to Windslar, Windenburg. He forgot how nice the cool, crisp mountain air felt on his skin and the winding roads that came along with it. The fall foliage, houses scattered and hidden within the landscape beside the solar windmills.
The feeling of home.)
Tumblr media
(John walks up the steps, trying to rehearse what he was going to ask. What was that again? Ah, advice. He didn’t specify what time he was going to arrive. His text went unanswered, but then again, it was early when he sent it.)
Tumblr media
(He goes to knock on the door.)
Tumblr media
“Uh--”
Tumblr media
(John didn’t even hear the locks. The door swings open, revealing his mother’s beaming face.)
Noelle: “Well?”
Tumblr media
(The suddenness catches him off guard. The question almost didn’t register. Did she just-- was she waiting by the door this whole time?)
John: “Hi, ma. Uhm...”
Noelle: “Oh! I’m sorry, iho; did I scare you?”
John: “You kind of did, yeah. You weren’t waiting all night at the door where you?”
Tumblr media
Noelle: “Don’t be silly. But I couldn’t sleep. Is it true? Is it finally happening?”
Tumblr media
(John laughs to himself.) “That’s what I’m here to talk about.”
Tumblr media
Noelle: “Come on in, then!”
Tumblr media
(Noelle bounds off to the kitchen and John shakes his head as he enters his old home. It’s still the same. He’s almost tempted to go upstairs into his room.)
Noelle: “Can I get you some water? Have you eaten?”
John: “I’m good, ma.”
Tumblr media
(John perches himself on the island countertop, narrowly avoiding the hanging pans.)
Noelle: “So, iho...”
Tumblr media
“Have you popped the question yet?”
John: “No... not yet. I have the ring with me, though.”
Noelle: “How long have you had it?”
John: “I’ve had mine for months. I got Brian’s ring a few weeks ago.”
Tumblr media
(Noelle looks at him in awe.) “So, wait-- that’s Brian’s ring around your neck? As a necklace? Since when did you start doing that?”
John: “Yeah, it’s his. Started doing it a couple of days ago.”
Noelle: “And you’ve just been dangling it in front of him? That’s a dick move, iho.”
Tumblr media
John: “He doesn’t know at all. I have a reason... well, two reasons. Sometimes he gets to a weird cleaning frenzy, and I’ve hid this ring in the gardening hutch.”
Tumblr media
“The other reason, well, I just want it close to my heart until I give it to him.”
Tumblr media
Noelle: “And... he hasn’t noticed?”
John: “He did, but he didn’t put it together.”
Tumblr media
“I was gonna propose to him the other night. I couldn’t sleep thinking about it, so I was practicing how to pop the question.”
Tumblr media
“I don’t know how long it was until he figured out I wasn’t there, and came looking for me. I was upstairs, but I stopped him.”
Noelle: “What did you do?”
Tumblr media
(John sighs.) “I told him I was fine and all of that; don’t worry about me.”
Tumblr media
“...it was my chance, but, I chickened out.”
Tumblr media
(Noelle’s expression changes.) “I’m excited, I truly am, but I can’t help but to notice that you look scared. Are you?”
Tumblr media
(John doesn’t want to admit it.)
Noelle: “Iho. It’s okay.”
John: “Mama, I am. I’m nervous. I’m scared. I mean... everything’s been so right lately. Stable. I just... don’t want anything bad to happen, y’know?”
Tumblr media
(Noelle looks at her son. That phrase. How he said it. She understands; they’ve both been here before.)
Tumblr media
Noelle: “Marriage is a big change, but probably not as big as you think it is. That wasn’t the case with for me and your father; I don’t think it’ll be a drastic change for you and Brian. But... I get it. You don’t want to feel powerless again.”
Tumblr media
“Right?”
(John nods.)
Tumblr media
John: “I don’t think I can go through something like what you’ve went through again, ma. I don’t... have the strength for it.”
Tumblr media
Noelle: “Baby, you do. You can. You will. I have. You have. You’re... older. Wiser. And you’ve never backed down from anything in your life.”
Tumblr media
“I know that for a fact.”
Tumblr media
“You... can’t be afraid of something you truly want for yourself. I know it seems like everything seems way too good to be true right now, but sometimes, you gotta shut that little voice up and live your life. Can’t worry about it. Right?”
Tumblr media
(John nods again.) “Right.”
Tumblr media
“Sometimes, you just gotta go for it.”
Tumblr media
John: “So... like you did with Dad?”
Noelle: “Yes, like-- what?”
John: “Uh...” (He pauses.) “I forgot to mention, uhm, I talked to Uncle Eli yesterday to get some advice. Man to man. I’ll tell you about that later, but he mentioned something about eloping...”
(Noelle clicked her teeth.) “Of course, he brought that up. He’s still mad about that. What did he tell you?”
John: “Other than you eloped and I should ask you about it. I’m an adult, ma. Just rip that band-aid off.”
Tumblr media
(Noelle sighs in frustration.) “Okay, fine.” (She mutters under her breath about Eli being a stupid ass.) “The parts I did tell you, that was true, but the fact of the matter is, I was tired of waiting on your father. He was such a nervous wreck--like you-- and I just said, ‘Fuck it, let’s go to the courthouse.’”
Tumblr media
“It was... let’s see, fifty bucks.”
Tumblr media
(John gasps incredioulsy.) “Fifty dollars? For what?”
Noelle: “To get married, duh.”
John: “Alright, ma, you got more explaining to do. I thought you said you and Dad were too broke to have a wedding! Fifty dollars, just here you go, you’re married? No questions asked?”
Noelle: “Oh, calm down; I’m getting there.”
Tumblr media
(Noelle taps on her chin.) “There were questions, iho. A LOT. And I had to correct the judge on a lot of things about what was presumed and we almost didn’t married because of that. Ian had to talk him down and even had to pull the ‘military’ card on them; even then, the judge thought I was marrying him for a green card. Racist bastard...”
Tumblr media
John: “So, you can just... go to the courthouse?”
Tumblr media
Noelle: “You can do a lot of things at the courthouse. You clearly need to get aquainted with law folk, but I know that’s not your thing. But, yes, you don’t need a wedding... just a license.”
John: “And it was fifty dollars.”
Noelle: “At the time. We weren’t broke broke... that’s a totally different thing.”
John: “Don’t... don’t you need witnesses for that?”
Tumblr media
Noelle: “Just two. We managed to find a couple of people who didn’t get to be chosen for jury duty.”
Tumblr media
(John is still aghast.) “You guys weren’t like... y’know, horny, where you? Because that... that would explain a lot!”
Noelle: “What kind of a question is that to ask your mom?!”
John: “It’s a valid question!”
Noelle: “No, John. We weren’t. Your father wanted everything to be ‘right’. To which I said, let’s do this now, and we’ll go back and to the big thing later.”
Tumblr media
“We planned on having a modest ceremony before you and Jacob were born. Then after.”
John: “Oh, so you weren’t--.” (He pauses.) “Oh.”
Noelle: “Yeah. Had I not been impulsive or, what your uncle said, eloped, I would have never gotten the chance to marry your father and vice versa. We planned on everything else, until... you know. You two. Your grandparents... War. Speaking of. Brian’s family.”
Tumblr media
(John shakes his head.) “We’ve talked... hypotheticals, but he’s taking my last name. That’s that.”
Noelle: “Good.”
John: “Fifty bucks, though?”
Noelle: “Oh no, iho, don’t you dare. Don’t do that to Brian. He wouldn’t like that.”
John: “How do you know?”
Noelle: “...he’s told me.”
Tumblr media
(Noelle grabs her son’s hand. When did they get so big? How did he get so big? How did her baby get so big? They’re shaking slightly. That nervous twinge.)
John: “So... he does want to get married to me?”
Noelle: “Yes. Is that why you’re so nervous? You don’t think he’ll marry you?”
John: “I... yeah.”
Noelle: “Why do you think that?”
John: “I don’t know, ma. That’s the thing. It’s... such a big step.”
Tumblr media
(Noelle smiles.) “Baby, Brian loves you. He’s been talking to me about this for the past few weeks. He told me that he’s waiting for you to pop the question for a long time, but he doesn’t know how to bring it up. That he’ll wait as long as he needs to.”
Tumblr media
“You two really and truly love each other. You’re so wonderful together; you have changed each other in so many ways, you don’t even realize it. Brian’s changed you. He brought back... my son and I can never thank him enough for that.”
Tumblr media
“And what you’ve done for him since you’ve met him... you have supported him every step of the way, protected him... you’re always there for Brian. You know what he needs.”
Tumblr media
“Stop making him wait, John. Because... you may not get the chance to marry him. I am glad I married your father when I did. Tell him. Let him know you love him.”
Tumblr media
“Okay?”
Tumblr media
(She pats his hand.) “Tell Brian everything. I know you have a lot to say. Don’t make him doubt.”
Tumblr media
(John smiles out of relief.) “Okay, mama. I got it.”
Tumblr media
“Thank you.”
Noelle: “You’re welcome, iho. Now, come here and give your mom a hug, yeah?”
Tumblr media
(John hops down from the counter and pulls his mom into a tight hug.)
Noelle: “Oh, my boy’s getting married. I can’t believe it.”
Tumblr media
John: “I gotta do it first, ma. But I have no idea where to start.”
Tumblr media
“Would uh, you mind whipping up something to eat and we can workshop it?”
Tumblr media
(Noelle laughs) “There it is. Of course, I can. But you can’t be long, right? That’ll draw some suspicion. You are in Windenburg.”
Tumblr media
John: “I’ve got actual alibis... I’ll get back in time.”

(totally not because Area 51 no that was a random number I promise shh) 51: JOHN REQUEST IF YOU HAVENT GOTTEN ONE YET: just super soft..... lots of hugs and kisses and praise...... dancing together and a kiss in the rain mayhaps.... IM JUST SOFT OK TYSM FOR UR TIME a/n: so i asked yall for a number and this one came up :)))) also i picked the 80s because i wanted them in New York but then Vienna came on and i was like “gotta write about that” i LOVE Vienna by Billy Joel, i got it from The Politician (GREAT TV SHOW, LOVE IT) and Ben Platt’s version is beautiufl/ pairing: john x reader summary: fluffy shit with Johnnnnnnn warnings: FLUFFFFFF year: ‘80s because i want them in New York lol word count: 1,628
John bopped your nose making you pull your head back. “Oi, what was that for?” you asked rubbing your nose and pulling away slightly.
“I dunno,” he replied pulling you back to him using the arm that was wrapped around your back. You sighed and your head fell onto his chest, his heartbeat thumping loudly in your ear calming you down. John was drawing on your back sending shivers down your spine (body’s aching all the time) when his fingers would brush over a certain spot.
You were currently laying across the couch with John, music was interrupting the silence. John would occasionally sing along to the record, making you smile against his chest. He had his arm around your back, legs up on the couch. You had both your arms wrapped around his torso, your body fully on top of his, legs tangled with his. Earlier on you had pulled a blanket on the both of you, it was also tangled up.
“I love you,” he whispered.
“I love you too Johnny.” you giggled pulling your head up to get a good lock at him. He was looking down at you, his head propped up on a pillow against the couch's arm and a massive smile on his face.
“God I love you so fucking much yn.” his other hand went to your cheek, his hand brushing against the soft skin. You pressed your cheek against his hand and hummed. “You’re so perfect, I’m so fucking lucky, you have no idea yn...” John added, you moved further up to be closer to him and to be able to kiss a sappy John.
“Why so sappy Lennon?” you teased as you peppered kisses all over his face.
“I dunno...” he repeated. “Let’s dance.”
“Alright.” you got up without questioning his sudden urge to dance. His hand took yours as soon as he had stood up from the warm and cosy couch you had been lounging in. His hand slipped around your back and rested on your back. You giggled as he dipped you and grabbed onto his shoulder as to not fall. John dramatically sang and made strange faces making you giggle even more. “I love youuuuuuuuu.” he sang and kissed your lips.
John pulled you close once the song was done and a slower, more romantic one came on. You turned your head to the side and pressed it against his chest. You had extended your other arm to the side with John’s and he was lazily moving it up and down to beat of the music. His voice was still going but this time softer, you felt the vibrations against your head. John had been slowly moving around in circles and just as this song ended your face was looking at the window.
“Do you want to go for a walk?” you whispered, your eyes fixated on the dark outside world.
“Now?” he asked.
“Yeah.” you pulled away and looked into his eyes.
“Alright, let's get our coats.” you smiled and dragged him to the entrance of the flat. You quickly put on your boots and coat. “You’re going to freeze. John tutted as he teasingly pulled a beanie over your eyes.
“I can’t see!” you complained while fixing it, John chuckled in the backroom. He was leaning against the wall behind you as you looked into the mirror. “All done! Let’s go.” you hooked your arm with him and squeezed out the door. The lift ride to the bottom of the building was quick and in no time you were outside and headed to Central Park. You passed a couple of other couples and people on the way there.
“Heya John, yn!” some fans would say before kindly asking for an autograph. You loved this, it was much better than being chased around by screaming fans and John did too. He would gladly accept and even ask for their autographs leaving the fans surprised before agreeing.
“God I love this,” John said breathing in the cold air. The path was lit by lampposts to the side. Your hand was slipped in his, swinging in between you. You looked all around you trying to make out shapes in the darkness. The moon shone brightly above either of you and soon you reached a bridge, you walked over to the edge of the lake dragging John behind you and stood behind the wooden railing.
You both leaned against in, your hand still linked and going over the railing. The moon’s reflection was over the still lake, you turned to your side and found John watching you a soft smile on his lips. “What is it?” you asked as a blush crept onto your face.
“Nothing, you’re just so cute.” he reached over and kissed your nose.
“So are you,” you replied and kissed him but this time on his lips that had gone slightly cold. Thunder rumbled in the background making you stand up straight and sigh. “We should head back,” you said with a pout.
“We can stay a bit longer,” John told you.
“It’s going to rain soon,” you mentioned looking over to the darkened clouds.
“If that’s what you want.” he too stood up and wrapped his arm around your shoulders. You leaned your head against your head and started the walk back home. But you didn’t reach your warm awaiting home in time, you were changing paths when it started to rain and John and you were in a clearing meaning you both got wet to the bone. Couples and people around you rushed to shelter. You were going to run as well but John grabbed your hand pulling you against his chest.
“John!” you squealed as his hand went to yours just like you had been in the flat when you had danced with him.
“Dance with me,” he proposed softly, his neck leaning down to kiss you. “Hear that?” John asked referring to the background music, someone was playing to the side but they were shielded by trees. The musician was playing Vienna, that song had been released a couple of years back and it remained one of your favourite songs, after John’s of course.
“Vienna,” you said a smile tugging onto your freezing face. “John it’s pouring.” you pointed out.
“You don’t say.” John chuckled as he began slowly moving. You gave in and danced along. “Slow down, you crazy child. You're so ambitious for a juvenile.” John sang making you smile even more. “But then if you're so smart, then tell me... Why are you still so afraid? Where's the fire, what's the hurry about?” you began bopping your head to the beat.
“You'd better cool it off before you burn it out. You've got so much to do And only so many hours in a day.” John continued as you joined humming. “But you know that when the truth is told hat you can get what you want or you get old. You're gonna kick off before you even. Get halfway through.” he harmonized and tilted his head back making you giggle. “When will you realize? Vienna waits for you.” John said with a fake, dramatic accent and your giggles increased.
“Slow down, you're doing fine. You can't be everything you want to be before your time.” the music was becoming softer as the rain got louder. “Although it's so romantic on the borderline tonight... Tonight...” he pulled a hand off your back and waved his hand around. “Too bad but it's the life you lead. You're so ahead of yourself that you forgot what you need. Though you can see when you're wrong, you know...” the instrument got louder as the song built up.
“You can't always see when you're right. you're rightYou've got your passion, you've got your pride. But don't you know that only fools are satisfied? Dream on, but don't imagine they'll all come true. When will you realize, Vienna waits for you?” the music got softer and yet another instrument joined in for it’s solo.
“Slow down, you crazy child and take the phone off the hook and disappear for a while.” John sang before dipping you, your laughter rose and you held onto his shoulders. “It's all right, you can afford to lose a day or two. When will you realize, Vienna waits for you? And you know that when the truth is told that you can get what you want or you can just get old.” his voice rose over the roaring rain.
“You're gonna kick off before you even get half through. Why don't you realize, Vienna waits for you. When will you realize, Vienna waits for you?” John bopped your nose before bopping your nose. Just as his singing and the instruments stopped a wave of applause erupted around you. You looked away from John and saw that half a dozen couples had stopped under their umbrellas to listen to the amazing voice that they had stumbled across
You pulled away from John who had a surprised look on his face and joined in with the applause. He looked at you and narrowed his eyes. “Thank you all! And thank you for the music,” he said pointing at the little band you had not yet seen. The clapping turned to them and after John set down money in their cup a couple of people did so too.
The raining had calmed down now but you were both still wet. “Let’s go home yn,” he whispered kissing the side of your head and wrapping his arm around your shoulders. You both began walking and made your way back home where you would get changed into warm clothes.
“Thank you for that John, I loved it.”
“Anything for you my love.”

Under a lucky star
Hello everyone! Here I am once again with a fluffy one-shot about Roger. Enjoy and let me know what you think!
Summarise: a lot of unexpected things happen during a small road trip
Warnings: none, just pure fluff
Words: i have absolutely no idea
This could be read both as real life Roger or as Ben!Roger and it is set in the late 70s.
Gifs not mine so credits to the owners!

“I promise you’ll love it. Oh c’mon dove, I’ll be leaving for tour soon and I want to spend all the time I’ve left with you.” Roger had been trying to persuade you for about half an hour by now. After a long day at the studio he came back home saying he had a surprise for you. You had no idea what it was about but you couldn’t hide the fact that you were beyond excited for it. If it wasn’t that you had work tomorrow. “Rog, you know I gotta go to work.”
“Take a day off. Say you’re sick.”
“Are you out of your mind?” You raised your head from his chest to look at him in the eyes and you could tell by the gaze he gave you that he really cared about what he had been planning for you.
“Please? Do it for me.” He was basically begging and you just couldn’t resist his angel eyes. Moreover, if he kept caressing your leg like that you would have agreed on anything. You rested your head on his shoulder and sighed- this man was going to be the ruin of you.
“Fine.” You mumbled. “You’re lucky I love you.”
“I’m the luckiest son of a bitch.”
After calling your office and announcing your terrible cold, the two of you were ready to go. Roger hadn’t let you pack anything so you just followed him to his car. Except it wasn’t his car. His beloved Range Rover had been replaced by a pickup.
“Isn’t it John’s?”
“I borrowed it.”
“Did you really give your car away? I can’t believe it.”
“Just for tonight, love. Don’t have odd thoughts.”
You spent most of the ride laughing your ass off like a teenager, because that’s what Roger made you feel like. You loved him for that- and also for being the greatest asshole you ever met. It was his nature.
“I swear it! We went to grab something to eat, we came back and he completely forgot it!”
“Deaky forgot the riff?”
“He did! Freddie wanted to shake him so hard that Brian had to step in.” You were so distracted and amused by his words that you didn’t even notice the road you had taken.
“Rog, where are we going?” You couldn’t help but notice that you were in the middle of nowhere.
“Boo I’m not going to murder you.” Roger giggled and quickly glanced at you. The moonlight made him look almost ethereal and you looked at his lips, which were holding a cigarette. A bad habit of his, indeed, but he looked so hot.
“That’s not what I’m worried about.”
“We’re almost there, don’t worry.”
“Where are we going?”
“You’ll see.”
“Roger!”
“What?” He was trying not to giggle at the sight of you being that excited but he didn’t succeed.
“Don’t laugh at me.”
“I’m not.”
“Where are we, by the way?”
“Just outside London. Love, we’re here.” You were, literally, in the middle of nowhere. Roger stopped the car in a meadow and you were completely alone. Not that you minded.
“What are we doing here?” He got out the car and went to the back, so you followed him. As soon as your feet touched the grass you couldn’t help but smile. You loved being close to nature. You raised your eyes to the sky and admired the stars, one of the things that you loved the most right after Roger. “Y/N?”
“Coming.” You followed him to the back of the pickup, where he had places a few blankets.
“What is this?” He adjusted a few pillows among the blankets, making sure they were comfortable enough.
“This” he said with a big, bright smile “is us watching the eclipse.”
“What?” Needless to say you were speechless.
“You did nothing but talk about it with Brian for these last days. You seemed so excited about it and I didn’t want my girl to miss it for a stupid shift at work.” God, you loved him. You really did. You climbed in the back of the pickup with glossy eyes, literally throwing you into his arms. He let out a laugh as you both lost the balance and fell into the pillows. You hugged him tight, not letting him go.
“Love, as much as I love being this close to you, I’d really like to take a few breaths.” You let him go just to cover his face of kisses.
“You are the best boyfriend ever.” And you spoke the truth. He knew how much you loved cosmology- you studied astrophysics in the same course as Brian, who introduced the two of you. That’s how you met.
“Are you happy?” He whispered and your heart skipped a beat.
“Insanely happy.”
“Here, let’s share the blanket.” You snuggled up on him under countless blankets and you just couldn’t stop smiling.
“I just wanted to do something nice for you.”
“You always do, Rog.” Your words were nothing but a whisper.
“I like to spoil my girl.”
You put a hand on his chest and raised your head to meet his eyes. Your smile widened at the sight of his beautiful face and you kissed him slowly. He pulled you closer to his body and hold you tight, deepening the kiss. As soon as it was over you rested your head on his chest and closed your eyes as you felt him caressing your hair.
“Are you comfy?”
“I am, since the moment that you’re my new pillow.”
“I wish I knew something more about eclipses so that I could entertain you with nerdy anecdotes.” He murmured and placed a kiss in your hair. You smiled at his words and shook your head.
“It’s perfect as it is. I’ll give you one of those: did you know that within the first second of the universe’s existence the temperature dropped from a million billion degrees to ten billion degrees? That’s pretty hot!”
“Just like you.”
“Oh my God, Roger.” You bursted into laugh as you slapped him in his chest.
“I love that brain of yours.”
“And I thought that you loved me just because I can make pancakes.” You joked, causing him to giggle.
“That’s the second reason. Do you remember the day we met?”
“Like it was yesterday. You were having a fight with Tim.”
“He wanted to change my lyric for a song.”
“Did he do it?”
“Hell no. I won that fight.” You chuckled and Roger smiled as he enjoyed your little laugh which perfectly fit with the entire atmosphere.
“You can be a very hot-headed man when you want.”
“You’re damn right. You know, I’ve been thinking a lot lately.”
“About what?” You loved having this kind of conversations with him. It helped you to know him better. He started to draw circles in your hip with his fingers, sending shivers down your spine.
“The band, the tour, us.”
“What do you mean by ‘us’?”
“Marry me.” And you thought he couldn’t surprise you even more. You almost chocked. You were about to say something when he went on.
“The look on your face when you found out what the hell we’re doing here- I want to see you always as happy as you are now. I want to be the man that makes you feel like that and sure as hell I want you to be mine. “
“Roger...”
“And I know it might seem too soon for this but I don’t wanna wait anymore. I know what I want and I really hope you-” You didn’t let him finish. You pressed your lips against his as you tried to stop the sobs. You were definitely not expecting this but you were feeling like Heaven.
“Of course I’ll marry you. Damn it, it’s a thousand times yes.” You sat on his lap and completely forgot about the blankets. You kept caressing his face and you couldn’t stop smiling. Neither did he.
“I don’t have a ring-” He started to justify himself but you cut him off.
“I don’t need one.”
“You are my love” He whispered right before kissing you again and you found a way to kill time right until the eclipse.

Genesis 48:1-49:33, Matthew 15:29-16:12, Psalms 20:1-9, Proverbs 4:20-27
Today is the 24th day of January, welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I am Brian it is wonderful to be here with you today. It's a joy that we can kind of come around the Global Campfire for another day and just enjoy each other's company as we listen to God's word. So, we’ve been reading from the English Standard Version this week. We will continue with that through the end of the week. And today Genesis chapters 48 and 49.
Commentary:
Okay. So, as we continue our journey through the book of Matthew and kind of walk alongside Jesus in his ministry, we’re seeing things start to amp up. He's shown up on the radar very clearly. He’s clearly drawing a crowd. He's definitely becoming well. And, so, the religious leaders are watching Him and traveling to question Him. And, so, that's where we find ourselves today. They travel to see Him and asked for a sign from heaven. So, Jesus answers them like, “when it's evening you say it will be fair weather for the skies red and in the morning, it’ll be stormy because the skies red and threatening. So, you know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you can’t interpret the signs of the times.” So, it's like Jesus saying, “you're asking me to show you a sign from heaven when signs from heaven are everywhere you look and you can’t interpret them and you are the leaders.” So, we see the tension. In terms of Jesus, it's not really coming from the people that He’s ministering too. Rather, it's coming from the people who feel as if their territory is being invaded and it's easy just to look at, you know, that the leaders are taking…are antagonistic toward Jesus. And that's really the story but you have to imagine, this Rabbi just kind of shows up and…and all of a sudden is igniting something in the hearts of the people that hasn't been seen…like that they are not able to…to make happen. And all…all of the rumors are that God is on the move…like the miraculous is happening, the power of God is on display. And, so, they’re certainly asking questions and checking things out but what's happening in the processes is that Jesus is this essentially making mincemeat of the way that they’re doing things by saying, “you have lost the Spirit of the law. You're trying to obey the letter of the law, but you forgot why it exists. And, so, this whole thing has boiled down to a set of rituals and power and control over the people. You’re not leading to people deeper into an awareness and relationship with God, you're leading them deeper into a cage of rules that has become a cage because you've been willing to wrestle with things among yourselves and come up with conclusions that void the word of God.” So, we sort of see this showdown in the making. And later on, after this exchange Jesus is talking to the disciples and He’s like, “beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.” And, of course, they were confused. They thought He was talking about bread because that's…that's the context for leaven. Like, leaven is an agent that modifies the dough so that it will become inflated and…and actually it ferments and then there's gases and that it inflates and then it can hold more air and be more puffy and more edible for bread. And that's…that's really nice the way that that works in bread but not very nice when you think of your faith, being fermented and full of gas and puffed up and full of holes so that it's inflated and it’s been modified. And, so, yeah, this is…this is what Jesus is dealing with. And that is fundamentally people who are asleep, who do not have eyes to see and ears to hear, who are asleep, who need to be revived, who need to be awakened so that they can see and interpret the times. We don't need that any less now. And we can get into these stories and see what Jesus is dealing with and see that He's trying to bring light, He’s trying to bring life and good news and awareness. He's trying to say like, “the stories different than the one you're living in.” But they're blinded. And we…we struggle. We see through a glass darkly as the apostle Paul said. So, you know, we struggle with the same kinds of issues. What are we supposed to do? We’ve got 2000 years a history here since that time. So, it seems like we should be moving forward. How do…how do we stay rooted and grounded like Jesus? How to navigate like He did. How was He able to see the things that He saw? And I think we've already…we've already talked about this. We’re watching God walk the path of wisdom and the path of truth. The irony is that there's nothing that was available to Jesus that has been withheld from us. Jesus said all these things you see me do, you can do these things. You can do greater than these things because I'm going to the Father. Paul tells us it’s the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead that is indwelling us. There's nothing that's withheld from us here. So, how do we walk that path? How do we navigate like Jesus?
We walk the path of wisdom that Jesus is walking. which brings us to the voice of wisdom from the Proverbs today, practically on her knees begging us, “my son be attentive to my words. Incline your ear, like bend your ear to my sayings Let them not escape from your site”, right? “Don't let wisdom out of your sight. Keep these sayings within your heart. Their life to those who find them and healing to their flesh. Keep your heart with all vigilance for from it flows the springs of life.” That's wisdom telling us, “your heart is central. Everything flows outward from that place. It is the most true and essential part of you. From it flows the springs of life.” So, she, the voice of wisdom is basically saying, “hey! Attention! Watch where you're going.” We understand that in terms of like of vehicle, right? If you’re gonna get in a vehicle and start the ignition you better pay attention and watch where you're going, or you can get hurt or killed or kill somebody. Wisdom is saying, “apply that idea to your heart and watch where you're going.”
Prayer:
Father we invite Your Holy Spirit into all that we read today about leaven and puffed up and air and all of this as well as how to navigate listening to the voice of wisdom. And that's something we’ve gotta learn because we’re so used to hearing things so many other ways when the voice of wisdom, the voice of Your Holy Spirit is deep within us. So, again, we’re asking what we've been asking, give us eyes to see and ears to hear Your kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Community Prayer and Praise:
Hi this is Yvonne from Chicago I’m calling in for prayer for a member of my family, my cousin Isaiah. He’s in his mid-20s and is going through a crisis related to his mental health. He’s not the same young man that I knew growing up and he knows God. He was given the foundation of the Lord with our family. Unfortunately, there were some dramatic things that happened to him, you know, as a young adult. He still is a young adult. But he, for lack of a better word, he was violated in some way and given…given mind altering drugs against his will. And as a result of that issue it has caused trauma where it’s like he’s not in his right mind. He goes in and out of being in his right mind and reality. I don’t know the full diagnosis but I’m just asking for the DAB family to pray for my cousin Isaiah. He was a prayer warrior when he was a toddler, praying and laying hands on people and now it grieves me to see the enemy trying to take him out by way of mental illness, his mind, depression, oppression. So just praying and asking for the DAB family to keep Isaiah listed in prayer and that the Lord will restore him mentally and bring him back.
Hey Daily Audio Bible family this is Becky in Orlando. Anyway, I’m a couple days behind I just finished listening to the 14th and Diane, my heart goes out to you. I can’t imagine how you feel right now with metastatic breast cancer having that metastasize into your brain and knowing about your kids who have autism and a husband who’s dealing with his own demons right now. I just want to let you know that I’m praying for you and I’m praying for your full recovery. I know that God can heal you. I remember a couple years ago I was out walking, and I had heard a mother call in about her son. Her son had cancer that metastasized, and they said that he only had months left to live. He decided that he was going to quit going to college in he was going to become a full-time missionary. And talk about how faithful God had been in his life. Even though he only had months left to live. And I just thought how brave this boy is. And then a couple months later she called in again and said that he had gone in for update to see where the cancer had spread to and how bad it had become. And guess what? He had divine healing. There was nothing left in his body that they could detect that was cancer and the doctors couldn’t explain. I know that God didn’t can do this for you Diane and I am believing in it for you. And Kathleen from Mount Zion Illinois I have listened to you for so many years and I love your spirit and I’m praying for your daughter. I’m praying for her complete healing and am also praying for you to get a flight out of Abu Dhabi. I love you guys and I look forward to hearing your praise report and I will talk to you soon. Thanks. Bye.
Hi, DABbers this is Kim in Recovery. I just heard Victoria Soldier prayer request and I just want to lift her up. Lord, we pray for the special sweet sister. Lord, so many times I’ve heard her lift up the DABbers and pray for us. Lord, I want to send out a special prayer for her as she’s had this loss of her cousin, the pastor of a church that recently burned down. Her family church Lord. Lord, I just want to pray for her, her family and this community. Lord, pray specially for this community of believers that they just lost their pastor and their church. That, You’ll bring them together, that You’ll knit these special souls together, that they’ll be able to do Your will in the rebuilding of this church, of the changing in the landscape, or whatever Your will would be and what You would have this church and this community as they’ve had this great loss. Lord, we pray that You will You’ll give the resources, that You will pray for each church member, that they will not get discouraged, that…that…that we know that You’re always near us and You’ll walk with us in any circumstance Lord. We pray especially for this community, we pray for Victoria Soldier, pray for her family, and we pray that You’re…that Your mighty work will be shown and that…that Your glory will be magnified in this rebuilding of this church and with this community and we pray in Your sweet Savior’s name, Jesus Christ. Amen.
Good morning Daily Audio Bible family, to be a Blessing in California. Just wanted to let folks know who I haven’t heard from in a while that I’m praying for you. I’m thinking Salvation is Mine, Cherry Chase Cherry Pie, Malisa, Annette from Oklahoma City. Praying also for Drew from California. And I wanted to let those who are starting this beautiful journey this year for the first time as well as reminding those who have been a part of this community as well that it’s so easy for the enemy to make us think that our prayer requests are not important, that reaching out to get prayerful support won’t matter but it really does. To know that there are people out there praying for you even though you may have forgotten what your request was, it’s so important. God wants to do amazing things for us, and He says Jesus tells us that we don’t have because we don’t ask. And also, we might be asking for things that are going to be for our best good, but God knows about. So, He may not answer our prayer the way that we want but know that He will answer our prayers. He’s faithful. He loves us so. I experienced that situation last year where I wasn’t calling in for a while because I was just under depression, feeling hopeless. So, I pray that whenever we find ourselves in those situations that we will push through, pick up the phone, push the button and ask for help. Diane Olive Brown, I’m certainly praying for you and your family. God bless each and every one of you. Bye-bye.
This is Colette from California and I’m led to call in to pray for the three mothers that called in this week. The first mother, I believe her name is Kenisha and she called in regarding her two eldest children, a son who may be involved in some illegal activity and a daughter who is expressing some behaviors associated with depression. Father, we also want to bring before You the mother who called in regarding her two children who are delving into the occult. And the third mother called in regarding her two daughters who appear to be following their own way and are being tossed to and fro by their decisions. So, we want to come before the Lord this morning. Father, we come humbly yet boldly to Your throne of grace pleading for these situations to be halted in their very tracks. You promised in Your word according to acts 16:31 that if we believe our entire households will be saved. We believe, we stand, we claim this in the mighty matchless name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And Father, one other request, is that You give these mothers a measure of peace that is unusual, that is irrational, that is not understandable Father as they go through these life situations that are…that are currently plaguing them. Father we know that we are to be anxious for nothing but often times these situations do rattle us, but Father we know that Your balm of Gilead can be swabbed over their minds, their hearts, their souls, their emotions so that they are coming before You in prayer and in clarity. And Father we know that You will give them wisdom. Father, we also know that situations are for Your glory and that they will and in the testimony one day. Thank You, Father in advance for delivering and for answering this prayer. Amen.
Hey, DABbers this is Slave of Jesus in North Carolina. I am in the middle of the Middle East and I sometimes listen to the Daily Audio Bible when I’m getting ready to go to sleep or trying to get a nap or whatever. And today I heard a prayer request that literally…I’m on my knees right now…got me out of bed right before I was ready to fall asleep. And Lord I just ask you to honor…honor this prayer request as for one of our DABbers. I ask you forgiveness from my wife for mentioning a female’s name on the DAB prayer line. But Lord I ask You to watch over Diana Davis. I ask You to miraculous…we know what the doctors have said about her cancer, but Lord You are the ultimate physician, the ultimate healer and I ask You to miraculously heal her so that she can honor You here in the DAB family. She has faithfully, faithfully honored You for…for 13 years but more importantly Lord, if it’s her time to come on we ask You to honor prayer request, to keep her sons Elijah and Michael together. Autistic people are some of the most wonderful people in the world and we ask You to use them Lord long after whenever You decide to take Diana. We ask You to use them to honor You but just to show joy and peace and to bring people into their lives that they can honor You. Love You all. Have a great day.
Hello DAB family this is Paula the child advocate from the LA area calling. I just wanted to ask for some prayers. I heard some really sad news yesterday. There’s a group of women that I’ve been getting together with for 30 years or more and this past Christmas we got together at the one of our friend’s homes, her name is Doris. And Doris has had a hard time because her son died a few years ago unexpectedly, but she had some good news to share with us, that her daughter was recently engaged and getting married this year. And we all felt that Doris was doing so much better and we were delighted to spend the evening at her home with her. And then yesterday I got this very sad news that Doris took her life this week. And it’s just such a shocking thing for myself and my whole group of women friends because we just didn’t see anything that indicated that, you know, she wasn’t doing well. So, I ask for your prayers please for Doris’s daughter and for her husband who now have suffered, you know, the loss of not only their child, their son, but also now their mother. Thank you DAB family. I really appreciate it. I hear your prayers and I pray for you all. Thank you.

New Years
Roger Taylor x Reader
Summary: rogers scared to crush on y/n because she’s deaky’s sister but we all know how well that’s gonna work out for him
Word Count: slightly over 2k :)
A/N: it’s january 16th which makes this less fun but i think it’s good and im really happy with how it turned out!!
When you had first been introduced to the band, they we're already working on their fourth album. Your brother had done his best to avoid introducing you for almost five years, afraid of you taking a liking to one of his friends.
It was barely August when John gave you a call from their studio in Rockfield, asking you to come out and see him.
"Y/N?"
"John?"
"Haven't seen you in a while, how's mum?" You talked for a half hour catching up before he invited you to visit.
"Why, John? You need someone who actually knows how to do laundry?" He couldn't ever remember to separate the lights from the darks, frequently he also forgot the importance of detergent.
"Can't I just miss my baby sister?"
"Well, that almost never happens, John." You agreed, however, and packed a bag so you could stay for a night.
When you pulled in, you saw where they were staying, and how it was in fact a farmhouse. Chickens loitered the dirt road, perching on fences and cooing at some blond. You parked, saw John in your peripheral vision and threw open the car door as fast as you could to run to him.
"Hey!" You said, already airborne and jumping onto his back. There was a thud, your brother was unsuspecting and now on the ground covered in dust and probably a few bruises.
"I'm never calling you again."
"Don't be so dramatic."
The man with the chickens had laughed at the mercy of his friend, gaining your attention when you picked yourself up.
"Hi," You called out, brushing off your jeans. "Sorry about that, sibling rivalry and all."
"Fine by me," he waved you off. "John needs a bit of roughing up." Your brother made it off the dirt himself, shooting both you and the blond a look. From the right you heard footsteps approach the two of you.
"Roger, would you quit mucking around with the chickens and get in here, Freddie needs you for the operatics." Brian, as you'd remembered from pictures, had curly black hair and seemed to tower over everyone around.
"Brian and Roger meet my sister." They both gave small, awkward waves when he failed to give them your name.
"I'm Y/N, sorry. I guess he doesn't remember." You jerked your head at your brother and shot him a dirty look. "D'you forget my name or something?" His friends let out a chuckle and John now gave you a mean expression.
"Give me a minute, it's on the tip of my tongue." You dug your fingers into his sides, drawing out a painful laughter before he cried for you to stop.
"Well, it's nice to finally get the chance to meet you guys," You said, taking a step to shake their hands.
"Likewise," Brian smiled, "I'd love to stay and chat but I've got to get him in there before the bill for this album goes up any higher."
You didn't quite recognize Roger, at least not in a fur coat and a pair of dark sunglasses, but Brian immediately dragged him away from the farm animals and into the studio.
"Uh, John?" You looked at him with amusement, "you didn't tell me your band mates were hot."
"There's a reason for that."
"You've been cock-blocking me for years."
"Shut it."
•••
You had the pleasure of seeing Roger in the recording studio in the middle of his galileo's. It was incredibly tempting to laugh, but everybody else seemed annoyed he couldn't get as high as Freddie wanted.
He did his best not to look at you for too long, but there were more times than you could count that you two caught each other staring.
He also did his best at keeping away from you. Suddenly, he was always the first one up, he made the first pot of coffee in the morning and kept to himself. You hadn't known him before, but there was enough talk about it between the boys for you to know it wasn't normal.
One afternoon you offered to grab everyone lunch from a pub in town, Roger left his order on a postcard and spent the entire day holed up in his room, despite being needed in the studio.
More and more you came to stay with them, choosing the little farmhouse over college parties and pubs, and the boys loved having you around. You broke up the testosterone in the house and always made the bathroom smell like flowers. Your visits, however, revealed the pattern in Roger's strange mood swings.
Freddie noticed it at first, and pointed it out to John who then told Brian. Your brother made nothing of it, and left the two of them to talk to you about the situation.
"Y/N?" Brian turned down the music from the car radio, you two were on your way home from the grocery store.
You gave a muffled response, having had a few chips in your mouth.
"I don't mean to pry, and you don't have to answer, but–" He paused in the awkwardness, "did something happen? Between you and Roger?"
You nearly choked, "Oh my God, Brian," You sent him a look from the passenger seat, "No, definitely no." He didn't seem to like that answer, the wrinkles between his eyebrows told you so.
"Why? Did he say something?" A small rise of panic began in your throat, "Bri, I swear–"
"No! No, he didn't say anything. The boys and I have just taken a little notice of something is all." He let a few seconds pass before beginning again, "He just seems to be very quiet when your in town, stays in his room a lot, never sleeps in, and he doesn't really like to eat with us, you know?"
"Oh, okay. I mean, I don't know. I've only ever known him to be like that. Do you think something's wrong?"
"Well–"
"Wait, so you thought it was because of me?" He came to a red stoplight and turned to look at you.
"No, not at all. Well, okay maybe." His eyes grew bigger, "Not in a bad way! Of course not anything like that, he's just been so weird, and it's only when you're around. So we all kind of assumed–"
"–Cause we hooked up and it ended weird?"
"Not in so many words, but, yeah." The car lurched forward through the intersection. "But you said nothing happened."
"Nothing, yeah. Sorry, I wish I could be more help."
"S'alright, love. Just means now I've got to actually ask him what his problem is."
He told you he'd find out and let you know, but he'd make sure to ask after you went home, which was the next day.
You didn't go back for a while after that, not because of Roger, but because school was a bit more intense after midterms and your mom had started holiday baking in the middle of November.
A week before the month was over, John and the rest of them ended up stopping by on the way to a 'band event' is what they called it.
While you were coming out of the bathroom you heard voices, Freddie and Roger.
"What's your problem, Rog? We're in her bloody house and you can't even make eye contact with her, it's weird."
"Fred, Brian already pestered me about this weeks ago–"
"And he was given a vague answer, you're being rude, it's ridiculous. What's wrong with you?" Dishes clinked around in the sink, your mother walked past you into the kitchen with the leftover peas on a platter and walked back out.
"She's John's sister, okay? That's the issue." Freddie blinked.
"And?"
"She's his sister. I mean, that's off limits, it's gotta be."
"Oh." Freddie paused from washing the dishes, "Well now it all makes sense. So you like her, then?"
"Yeah."
"Well, that's sweet, Rog, but it's not an excuse to be a dick."
Roger shook his head and started wrapping the chicken up with tin foil, "Trust me, I know."
You decided it was best not to go into the kitchen at that moment, instead returning to the table with noticeably red cheeks. To make matters worse, John tapped your shoulder and let you know they were staying the night.
"Are there even enough beds?" He shook his head no. "Then where are they all sleeping?"
Turns out you were sleeping on the couch, despite your complaints. John was in his room with Brian, which left your bed for Roger and Freddie.
•••
It was now almost half past one in the morning, everyone had been asleep for a while. The wine was catching up with you a second time, and you woke up in the middle of the night having to pee.
Groggily, you made your way inside and shut the door. A few minutes later, Roger felt the same pressure on his stomach and slid out from under Freddie's arm draped across him.
A yellow glare fell on the floor outside the bathroom, Roger, slightly drunk and very sleepy, assumed someone left the light on.
"Shit, sorry." The image of a girl in the bathroom made him jump, "I didn't realize anyone else was up."
"S'okay, I'm just washing my hands." You dried them and stepped out, "the door doesn't have a lock."
"I see." He rubbed his eyes and avoided making eye contact with you out of embarrassment, he suddenly felt self-conscious about being shirtless.
"Y'might want to think about knocking next time, though." You diverted your gaze downward, but your eyes lingered on his bare torso.
"Yeah, I'll make a note of that." He blushed and stepped aside for you to get past. He was almost grateful you were only just washing your hands, seeing you half naked in this situation would've been mortifying.
"Night, Roger." You disappeared from his vision around the corner to the living room.
"Night," He said, standing there for a moment before going inside the bathroom.
•••
It wasn't meant to be a big thing, just a few guys in a pub with family and friends to celebrate the new year. Freddie, however, turned his nose up at that idea and threw a party of his own.
Earlier throughout the night, you were given various drinks, mostly champagne. John did his best to keep you from taking too much, lucky for you.
"Just keeping an eye out for my baby sister," He would say, before you stuck your tongue out in protest.
The entire time knowing him, Roger had been skittish around you, for reasons you now knew. Tonight, however, he was different.
Drink after drink on his part, he warmed up to you. Brian even took notice and gave u a thumbs up when he saw the two of you talking. It wasn't about much, and it was kind of awkward, but watching his baby blue eyes glaze over underneath the yellow light of the chandelier made you feel something.
Even later in the evening, he tried to flirt. You then caught Freddie giving Roger a thumbs up like Brian had done to you.
It was charming, watching him across the room throw his head back to laugh, and he always watched you back.
Then midnight came, and with everyone gathered outside on the second story patio, he tapped your shoulder a minute before twelve.
"Roger?"
"I've got something to say to you." He was meant to continue, but your interest in other matters made him clam up.
"Where's your date?"
"Didn't bring one," He stated plainly.
"What about that brunette I saw following you around inside?" You crossed your arms over your chest and smiled.
"M'not terribly interested, I've got this thing for someone else." He said it with a lopsided smile, and you suddenly felt an overwhelming urge to kiss him.
"You've got about ten seconds to find someone, then."
"But I've already found you." It was almost innocent when the words tumbled out of his mouth, like a school boy with a crush.
"You know," You paused, the clock was ticking, "we've barely spoken, and I've only known you for a few months."
"My deepest apologies, love." His fingers found themselves in the loops of your jeans, and you watched those baby blue eyes until you could see the whites tinged red and all of a sudden people were celebrating.
Your lips were on his for a few seconds and it was soft and sweet. Then, his hands found their way around you, and it almost felt like the fireworks were for the two of you instead of New Year's Day.

You don’t know who to believe: your boyfriend, or your bother and multiple eye witnesses. Will you let the supposed “rumor” ruin the relationship you’d worked so hard to build?

The pub was loud, filled with the sounds of drunks trying to find a one-night hookup, awful club music, and people trying to yell over all the noise to either talk to their friends or order a drink. Roger sighed, placing his head in his hands, as his elbows rested on the counter in front of him. He closed his eyes and tried to convince himself going out for a night would be fun, despite all the hell that surrounded him.
Just as he finally began to convince himself of this falsehood, a bright light flashed beside him and suddenly all he could hear was reports yelling over one another in an attempt to catch his attention. The only voice he was able to pick out was that of a man who sounded quite young; he repeated the same phrase, "Where's [Name]? Shouldn't you be out with your girlfriend? Has it ended between you two?" over and over.
Finally, he had enough, sitting up quickly and banging a fist on the table. "Will you shut the hell up? My personal life is none of your concern, let alone my relationship status! So, please, kindly fuck off before I beat your face in with one of these glasses," He slowly reached ahead, grabbing one of the empty glasses in front of him. "That goes for all of you. Piss off!"
The crowd scattered, surprising Roger. Usually it was more of a fight than that to get them to leave him alone.
"Everything alright, love?" An unfamiliar voice with a seemingly Scottish accent spoke from beside him.
He turned to look in the direction of the voice, seeing a woman a few years younger than him with bright red hair. "Yeah, everything's peachy, can't you tell?"
"Don't have to be rude there, love, just checking up on you. Seem a bit down in the dumps,"
"Look, I may have had a few drinks, but not enough to make me open up to a complete stranger. I'd appreciate it if you would leave me alone, please, I'm waiting for someone."
"Wife?"
He shook his head.
"Girlfriend?"
"No, but with any luck, she'll show up. I'm not looking for a hookup, but nearly everyone else here is, so I wish you luck."
She nodded. "I can take a hint,"
"Really? Cause if you could take a hint, you wouldn't still be sitting here, talking to me,"
"You make a solid point. But maybe something is just drawing me to you..."
He rolled his eyes, clearly getting nowhere.
"Please, just go."
She smirked, lightly booping his nose as she stood up, making him wrinkle his nose; partially in disgust with the woman and partially because he wasn't expecting it.
~
You saw the whole scene unroll from the doorway. You tried to convince yourself it didn't happen, that it was one sided, but you couldn't. All you'd been thinking about that day was seeing him and talking things through, but could you really do that?
Brian placed a hand on your shoulder, having seen exactly what you had. "I'm sure it's nothing. Why don't we go talk to him about it,"
You shook your head, locking eyes with the blonde from across the bar. He smiled and his eyes lit up when he saw you, but your face had turned to a cold expression as you glared at him.
His smile faltered when he realized what you'd seen. As you turned on your heel to leave, rushing towards the door, you heard both men calling your name, trying to get you to stop; Brian even tried to grab your wrist, but you weren't having it.
"Really? You couldn't keep it in your pants for one night? I told you she was coming!" Brian scolded once Roger had reached the front of he bar.
"Oh piss off, you know I'd never hurt her."
"Yeah, that's exactly what you said about your other girlfriends, which you then promptly cheated on,"
"[Name] is different, you know that. It was just some hussy trying to find a one night stand who wouldn't take a hint. That's all."
Brian nodded, believing his friend. "You'd better run after her if you think there's any chance you can save this relationship,"
"Shit, right!" He bolted out he door, without another word.
•••
Back at the apartment, you were hastily throwing clothes into a suitcase you had found in the closet, not really caring what you grabbed, just wanting to get away from Roger as soon as possible.
When you heard the door open and slam shut, you slouched back, rolled your eyes and audibly sighed. "Go away, Rog!" You called out, tossing one of your t-shirts into the suitcase.
"Listen to me; my side, yeah?" He said, appearing in the door-frame of the bedroom.
"And why should I? I saw it with my own eyes, Brian saw it. Why should I even give you a passing glance?"
"Jesus, that's a little harsh, don't you think?" He attempted to joke, hoping to lighten the mood, but you only glared at him. "Okay, in all seriousness, I don't even know what I can say to change your mind. You either believe me or you don't. I'm willing to fight for you, but if you won't fight for me, then I don't know what to do,"
You scoffed, tossing down a pair of shorts. "You have got to be joking," You spat. "I've overlooked all the rumors that have followed you for years! When your fans come up to me, claiming to have been one of your hookups on tour, I overlooked it because I knew you'd never do something like that. I knew you loved me too much to break my heart in such immature way, but now... There's pictures, my own brother and best friend have told me what they saw, I saw it with my own eyes tonight! So don't you dare say I haven't fought for you or this relationship! I loved you, Rog, I really thought you could've been the one, but clearly I was wrong."
You glided across the room to the closet to grab a hoodie; when you turned around to toss it into the suitcase, you saw Roger standing over it, eyes locked with yours, as he pulled clothes out. His expression reminded you of the look a cat gives their owner before they knock something off the counter.
"Stop."
"Stay."
"No,"
"Then no."
"Roger, stop being so childish!"
"Me? Me stop being childish? You're the one throwing a tantrum because you saw something you didn't like!"
"Insulting me really isn't the way to get me back,"
"Implying there's a chance," He scoffed. "Give me five minutes, that's literally all I ask of you. Then, you can leave; I just need you to hear me out,"
"You keep saying that, assuming it'll change my mind."
"Hasn't it?"
You rolled your eyes, crossing your arms over your chest. "Go."
He went on to explain the scene at the bar, beginning from where you'd missed and ended just after you ran out; he strategically left out his short talk with Brian, fearing it may upset you more.
You wanted so badly to trust him, to fall into his arms and cry, apologizing a trillion times for your overreactions, and you almost did. The only thing that stopped you, was a small piece of paper that you saw poking out of the pocket of his black bomber jacket.
"What's that?" You asked calmly, attempting to mimic his calm tone.
"Hmm? What're you talking about, love?"
"There's a piece of paper sticking out of your jacket. Do you mind if I look at it quickly?"
He shrugged, grabbing it and holding it out to you. "Be my guest."
You mumbled a thank you under your breath as you grabbed the paper. Your eyes scanned over it, seeing it was just a schedule for band meets. You sighed in relief as you flipped it over, seeing the name Jaime and a phone number. Inhaling sharply, you handed the paper back to him. "Who's Jaime?"
He looked confused. "Jaime?"
"Yeah, she seemed to like you enough to give you her number on the back of your schedule."
"Jesus, Fred," He mumbled under his breath, snatching the paper and flipping it over. "[Name], this is Freddie's jacket, it's gotta be a number someone gave him that he forgot to taken out!"
"Mmm, and I suppose Jaime isn't the name of the girl I saw you with at the bar?"
"I never got her name! I turned her down and saw you, remember?"
You nodded, wrapping your arms around your torso. "I think I need a few more nights to myself, if that's okay."
"I really think we should keep talking this out, [Name]—"
"Really? I disagree." You spat angrily, quickly tossing the clothes he'd pulled out back into the suitcase and sipping it up before grabbing the handle and marching out the bedroom door.
"Hey! That's my suitcase, you can't just take it!"
"Oh piss off, I'll get one of the boys to bring it back for you. Or, better yet, I'll call Jaime and she can!"
"Oh for God's sake, let it go! I've been with you and you alone for two years, why the hell would I suddenly change my mind over night!"
You reached up, scratching your head with your free hand. "I dunno, Rog!"
"Then stay and we can work this out!"
"No! I can't be in a relationship where one person values the other more than they do them, cause you know damn well I've been in too many of those! I honestly thought you could be the person I spent the rest of my life with, but now I can't even stand to see your name pop up on billboards or hear a Queen song on the radio. You're really playing with fire at this point, Roger, so I suggest you let it billow away before it sparks a forest fire."
He was taken aback by your words, so he just simply nodded and gestured to the door. "At least let Brian know you're safe when you get wherever you're going so I'll know."
You nodded. "I will. Goodbye, Rog."
With that, the door shut behind you, leaving Roger an emotional mess as he stood in the pathway between the hallway and the porch. He knew now that he'd really fucked up. He'd lost the love of his life, all because of some bad coincidences.
And now he didn't know if he'd ever be able to get you back.

FELIZ CUMPLEANOS
SABRINA
It’s finally my birthday and it felt so good to wake up this morning! Much to my surprise the plans had changed a bit and so my friends and I are in Vegas now. I cried when I dropped Zay off at Rochelle’s house for two reasons. One is because ever since Izaiah was born I have spent every birthday with him. Two is because I miss him so much. And it didn’t help that he kept saying how much he would miss me too. Even though I have no doubt that Rochelle will take such good care of him, I still miss my baby boy. I even cried when we boarded our plane yesterday because of how far away I would be from my son. Corey let me sleep on him the entire flight. I didn’t want to be awake since I was so in my feelings over leaving Zay back in New York. Corey being with me helps to cushion the pain quite a bit.
The group for this trip is full of pairs. There’s Corey and I, Ravyn and Devontae, Brian and Carli, Angie and Jordan, and lastly Tori and Dave. Having couples only was a brilliant idea. Corey added himself to the team of party planners so I know whatever they’ve got set up is going to be wild. I got a tip from Ray that Corey has a really big surprise for me but I don’t believe her. He’s already given me three thousand dollar heels, two stackable diamond eternity bands, a star, and he paid the rent to my house four months in advance alongside my car note. Let me not forgot about this beautiful locket around my neck. This man is too good to be true and I get to say he’s all mine.
Ravyn thought I was playing around when I told her that Corey spoils the hell out of me. I was not. The only thing I ask Corey to do is pick up Izaiah from school because I can’t get away from work by the time he gets out. That’s it. Anything else is Corey’s own doing. The first order of business when we got to the hotel and checked into our rooms was a three hour trip to the spa for me. I planned on taking a shower to go explore the strip with everyone but Corey had my spa visit all set up from the moment we landed. I felt so good and lose once I met him back at the room. I returned the favor using sex as what seemed like the only way to show him how happy and grateful I am to him.
The sound of knocking erupted throughout the room. I haven’t heard from anyone all day, I’ve been up since ten this morning and it’s now reaching 8:45 in the evening. Corey was here earlier I know that for a fact because the scent of his cologne lingered throughout the suite the second I woke. And I know he left early this morning because I was all up under him all night.
“Quien esta ahi!?” I called out, tying my robe close. I looked through the door seeing Ravyn and Carli standing outside of my door. Pulling the door back I came face to face with the girls who were holding bags in both of their hands. Ray had a small duffle on her shoulder and Carly had a medium size red and grey suitcase at her side. “Where the hell have you two been all day? Where has everyone been?” I interrogated them briefly as they shuffled past me.
“Well miss thing we had shit to do so be quiet and lead us to where we can get ready. The other girls are just finishing up and they’ll be here in about an hour.” Ravyn assured me.
Stepping aside I ushered them into bathroom where they can begin to set up. “Where is Corey? I haven’t heard back from him since this morning. He just snuck out like I wouldn’t notice.” Taking my hair out from under the robe I broke up my curls watching Carli laugh.
“Don’t worry your pretty lil’ head about that man. Let him do what he’s gotta do. You’ll have him back tonight. Now come and sit down.” Carli guided me to the bench at the vanity, sitting me down and pushing me close to the mirror. “Ravyn says you don’t have a clue what to do with your head..” Carli stood behind me massaging my scalp.
“Mmm..if that ain’t the truth. I was thinking when I got out of the shower this morning that maybe a braided ponytail would look nice. But you’re in charge here tonight. I do want you to keep it out of my face though. I need a break from this curly mess.”
“I have an idea. Just relax birthday girl.” She advised.
Carli worked on my hair tirelessly for over an hour. When she finished I couldn’t believe how much my hair has grown over the last few weeks. I know that I had said to keep it out of my face but I’m loving the results of this blowout.
“I know you said that y-“
Disagreeing with the shake of my head I rose from the chair, fully inspecting my hair. I am beyond impressed at Carli’s efforts to tame my mane. My natural curl pattern is difficult to manage at times which is part of the reason I don’t much to my hair. “Thank you so much, you did an amazing job and I absolutely love it.” Tucking some hair behind my ear I gave her a warm hug.
“It was nothing. I had a feeling you’d end up liking a nice blowout. Besides, it’s your birthday and you deserve to look the best.” She put on some final touches, spritzing all of my hair with some hair fragrance that swept me off my own feet.
“Well look at you, this really feels like deja vu.” Ravyn complimented coming into view with a dress bag in her grasp. “Oh baby girl you look beautiful. You remind of Paola from Pasíon Morena.” She smiled.
Turning around I stared at her with curiosity wondering what’s in the bag. Ravyn sensed where I was coming from and opened up the bag that contained a brand new dress since the one I originally picked was no longer available as of yesterday evening. So the situation with my original dress is sensitive. I found a store on the strip that had this gorgeous creme and rose gold dress. I called to have them hold it but once I went to get it, some girl had already bought the piece. Pissed was an understatement. Luckily I found a dress that blows the other out the water.
“You think he’ll like it?” Going over to Ravyn I took the dress and hung it up on the door smoothing out the fabric. Glazing my palms over the short gown I smirked at the soft hue of purple that Izaiah picked out for me. I love satin and silk material so much and I know this dress will be super comfy to party in tonight. It’s cut very low cut in the front, it’s racerback style and the fabric is lightweight. I don’t have any satin pieces in my closet so I’m happy that this is the look I get to go out with tonight. Not to mention this beautiful ivory color that will compliment my complexion so well.
Growing up as multiracial to a Panamanian mom and a Black/Colombian father and seeing my skin tone change over time made it hard for me to accept myself. I was born a super light complexioned baby and grew up with the same shade until I was about ten years old. On my tenth birthday I started noticing my fairly tan color transform into this medium tan. Now that I’m a grown woman my color has evened out nicely. I don’t really like to put my color into a specific category but I’m not your typical Afro-Latina woman. I’m so much more comfortable now with the way I look because my parents made sure to remind me how beautiful I was everyday.
“Like? That fool loves the way you look with no clothes on so I’m sure he’ll love you in this. Go get dressed while we get ready now. Keep an ear out for Angie and Tori.” The three of us broke off into our own thing and the closer it came time to go out I kept thinking about Corey. I’m not sure where he is or what he’s up to but I really want to see him.
Just I as I was getting ready to call him I heard a knock on the door. Taking my slippers off and replacing them with my shoes I ran my hands over my hair, feeling nervous all of a sudden. Not by much but enough to make me second guess my appearance, contemplating what else I can do to my outfit or makeup. I quickly went to answer the door seeing someone covering their face with a bouquet of flowers. Shaking my head and smiling halfway at the gesture I pulled the door back.
“I had a feeling you were looking for me so I said let me get my ass up there and ease her mind.” For the first time all day I get to lay eyes on Corey. Who just so happens to look like a completely different person.
“You got a haircut!” I gasped stepping into the doorway to touch and feel all over his hair. “Wow, it’s so soft. Why did you cut it all off?” Going over his hair in the proper direction I pulled him inside the room and shut the door with my foot.
“I wanted to do something different. I’ve been growing my hair out since I came back and today just felt like a good day to make a change. You like it?” He asked setting my flowers on the counter beside us.
“Yeah I love it. You look just like your sixteen year old self but much sexier.” I beamed with joy that he’s coincidentally matching my color scheme tonight. Wrapping my arms around his neck I out of habit scratched at the base of his neck. “Where have you been all day? I missed you.” Now that I’m dressed and ready to go I recalled spending the first part of my birthday completely alone.
“Aw baby you missed me?” He teased drawing me in closer. His hands cuffed the curve of my ass, fingertips fanned out and enjoying the material covering my body.
“Well if you’re going to be funny about it then I take it back.” Laying my cheek against his shoulder I shuddered at the tickling sensation my hair brought to me. All of my hair covered the exposed skin of my back providing me with warmth.
“Let me guess Ravyn did this huh?” He assumed, meddling in my hair.
“Nope, guess again,” Standing on my own I backed away to give him a full preview of my look for the night.
“Carli did your hair? By herself?” Corey nodded in approval, taking my hand and spinning me in a full 360 circle. The act made me feel like a new cut diamond on display in a case. He stopped turning me leaving me facing towards the room that the girls are in.
“How do I look?” I asked needing a little more reaction to my appearance.
“There aren’t words in the dictionary to describe how beautiful you are.” He complimented coming to stand behind me. He wrapped both arms around my waist leading me across our suite and outside to our private terrace that looks out onto the strip. The warm air and the joyful sounds of distant people enjoying their night ease my mind.
“I know I say this a lot but thank you.” I began quietly, leaning back against his chest. “You have no idea how happy and blessed I am to have a man like you in my life. Everything that you do for me and Izaiah makes me the happiest woman walking this earth.” Turning around his embrace I slid my hands up to his chest and up to his hair. I love playing in Corey’s hair any chance I get but now that he’s got a haircut I’m more intrigued to touch him.
He gazes down at me longingly, teasing my spine with something hard. I turned my head to look over my shoulder and Corey made one hand visible to show me a little box that came out of nowhere. The box is the same shape as what houses earrings so maybe he got me a match to go with the rings.
Breathlessly chuckling at his ability to always keep me on the edge of my seat I looked at the box again. “Mas regalos, Corey? Do you have anything else to do besides spend money on me?” I smirked.
“Para nada,” He smirked too, loving the shock in my eyes most of all. “I think of it as me wanting you to never forget how special you are to me. Not much has changed between us. But now that you’re the leading lady in my life you get the full works. Happy birthday..again, open it.” He encouraged, playing my hair.
With a smirk on my face I opened the little box with excitement. “No entiendo papa..” I chuckled nervously.
“Go there.” He said simply.
“Pero, Corey, por que? Donde esta esto?”
“Just go. Don’t ask me questions, just go there okay? Please.” Corey kissed me tenderly and walked off. I watched him leave out the door without looking back or any odd movements. Curious to solve this little mystery I went back in the room and grabbed what I needed for the night. As I was heading out the door I noticed another small box on the counter. Picking it up and opening it I read the instructions, removing another hotel key card.
“Great, a scavenger hunt.” I muttered. Continuing on with Corey’s little game I took the elevator up to the roof like the paper instructed me to. When I made it to the top I had a maze of doors to get through. What kind of hotel is this? Corey better not get me or himself into trouble because he wants play games.
Pulling out the extra key card I held it up over the keypad watching the flash turn green. A clicking sounding gave away that I could open this door. I searched for something heavy to hold it open. I’m fine with getting locked out of a room but being stuck on a roof is not in my plans tonight.
Bright lights flashed over me. I turned to my left not expecting to see the sight before me.
“No way.” I gasped. “What in the hell is this man up to?” Securing the door with another big rock I dusted my hands off and pulled down the hem of my dress. I don’t see Corey but I can say that this journey up here was worth the mystery. A large screen was set up in the corner placed behind a small round table and one single chair. Leading up to the table is a gracious pathway of sunflower petals.
After following the trail, I sat down at the table finding another card. The rules to follow were simple. Sit back, relax, and press play using the remote in the center of the table. The screen changed from black to white and then a clip began to roll.
“In case you forgot how much you meant to me, here are some reflections of the past to help you remember.” Corey said. The first image on the screen is a classic. The first picture that was ever taken of Corey and I. His parents invited me to one of his little league baseball games. Back in September of 1989 I think. Corey and his team ended up winning that game by three points all thanks to him.
The images that followed that one definitely helped me to reflect on some good times he and I have had. It’s truly amazing to see how long we’ve been in each other’s lives. He’s impacted my life in so many great ways and vice versa. I got to see pictures from our childhood, our adolescence, and lastly our college years. That’s when my emotions started to run wild. College was a roller coaster for me. I didn’t grow up sheltered but going away to college sure made it seem like I hadn’t lived at all. And the one mistake I wish I could go back and undo was getting to know Aaron Jonell “Ace” Bradley.
“Way to make a girl cry on her birthday Corey.” I sniffles. Dabbing the corner of my eyes with a tissue I pressed on with watching this slideshow of pictures. Another five minutes of good memories to view brought up one final video message. This one seems quite lengthy.
“I’m sorry for making you cry and taking you on a scavenger hunt. But I knew that in order to keep the element of surprise I had to make it worth your while. Our relationship and our friendship is one of the most important bonds I have ever formed with anybody. Although you’ve been one of my dearest friends for so many years I feel like I owe you so much more. I don’t ever want to forget that we were friends first and that is why I love you as much as I do today. When you were away I always hoped you would come back home. Back to me. Not having you in my life for so long hurt me so much. I think that’s when I started denying any feelings that I had for you. Your return to New York answered my prayers and from there I started to understand that my parents and Brian were right. I couldn’t stop comparing other women to you. It was you that I kept looking for in every past fling that I had. No other woman compares to you Bri. They don’t stand a chance. And seeing you be a mother and take care of your child before my very eyes is what threw me for a loop. I’m rambling now but that’s ok. All I’m trying to say is this, no matter what happens I will always love you. I never again want to feel the pain of losing you. So with that said, I have a very important question to ask you.”
Furrowing my eyebrows I watched the screen go black but the red writing on it made me too emotional to turn around.
“Quiero estar contigo para siempre..” I whispered.
“I hope you feel the same way.” That’s when I turned around. I knew it was Corey.
He stood there with his hands behind his back. He changed into a full blown tux just without the tie. When did he have time to change and set all of this up?
My body and thought process froze in astonishment. Even from here I was able to meet Corey’s eyes feeding off his energy.
“Tell me this isn’t what I think it is..” I mumbled so quietly. Standby up from the table I sucked in a huge breath of air.
“Come over here so I can tell you the rest.” He suggested. The smile on his face makes me feel secure. I’ve never seen him this happy.
Doing as he said I felt surprised when he nestled a sunflower behind my left ear. My favorite flowers as a child that my dad always brought home for me on Sunday evenings. Corey used to always bring me hand picked bouquets when he was making up for something bad that he had done, trying to apologize, or persuade me into something.
He revealed his hands to me, holding a little red box. The Cartier label on it did it. I turned to the side not able to handle this all at once. “Oh my god..” I whispered thinking of anything to make me laugh.
“Sabrina..” he said tugging on my hand.
I shook my head promptly, biting my lip, looking out at the other buildings and hotels. The ongoing nightlife of Vegas was the perfect distraction from this moment.
“Lori, look at me baby, come on.” He kindly requested.
After a minute or so I gave into his demand and paid full attention to the man on one knee, right now before me.
“I know this new path we’ve been on has been a short one but I don’t care. I’ve known you since we were little kids and of all the women I’ve messed around with and dated, you’re the only one that’s made me feel this way. It never mattered to me what new girl I dated over the years because I always managed to see you in them. I meant it when I said you were the reason I couldn’t settle down. I was in denial with how I really felt about you and I’m sorry. I’m no longer confused, lost, or in denial..none of that shit. Not anymore. I know for a fact that I love you dearly and don’t ever want to see you with anybody else. And I damn sure don’t want you to ever leave me again.” Corey softly took a hold of my hand and kept the small box is his other hand. “Sabrina Delores Guerrero..” he began proudly.
Putting my free hand to his soft lips I silently begged for him not to continue. Not because I don’t want to hear anymore but because I’m in shock and I need a minute to process this. I never saw this coming. He always keeps me on my toes but this right here is not what I ever even suspected to happen with him. We’ve been dating for a hot minute and already he wants to give me a ring. Then again, we’ve had something brewing between us for a long time now.
Maybe I too was in denial about my feelings for Corey all along. In college he managed to stir up feelings even when I was dating other guys. I just never acknowledged them or acted upon them. That’s not the type of woman I am. He’s always made me feel safe, comfortable and special unlike past ex’s.
“You’re not gonna let me finish?” He smiled, seemingly comfortable where he is. My fingers haven’t strayed from his lips as he just stared into my eyes looking like I was heaven on earth.
“Corey, if I let you finish I’m gonna need to redo all the work I put in on my face. I have a lot of makeup on that I don’t want to do over.” Taking a deep breath I allowed him to wrap up his speech.
“Te casas conmigo?” As he spoke he simultaneously unveiled the ring that blew me out of the water. I’ve never seen a ring so beautiful in my life. It’s my dream engagement ring. It’s everything that I’ve ever wanted. Down to the cut, color, clarity and size.
“Holy shit!” I exclaimed. “Corey, how..when..what!?” I quizzed. He just smiled and pushed the ring up my finger. Rising to his feet he held me close. “Are you sure you that want to take this step with me?” I accept his hand without any doubts but I still want to make sure that this is what he wants.
“Yes.” He answered boldly. “Without a doubt. I don’t care about anything else but you, Izaiah, my family and Brian. I don’t know what we’ll get into later in life but I do know that I want to be with you as long as I’m living. If you’ll have me too that is.”
This declaration of why he wants to take this, take us, to a whole new level is the tone setter for this entire night. I wonder what else this man can possibly have up his sleeve.
-----------------
“¿Que tengo que hacer pa que vuelvas conmigo? Vamos a dejar el pasado atrás..” Ravyn and I sang simultaneously like no one was around to watch. This birthday celebration has surely been one to remember. After Corey surprised the hell out of me by proposing the night has been so much fun. Everyone is having such an amazing time equally and we’re all faded off our asses. The guys, Tori and Angie have burned through four blunts so they’re all super high. Carli, Ravyn, and myself stuck with the liquid courage but we had a little extra boost as well. I won’t say too much to Corey because I don’t want him to be too concerned with my well-being but I laced my own drinks with some party favors that Ravyn brought along.
I don’t even know if she knows I used them but oh well!
“Yo..I can’t feel my fucking face!” Dave shouted turning to take the bottle from Devontae who looks half asleep in his seat.
“Boy you better not be asleep!” Ravyn stepped down from the table and went around to playfully smack her man in the face.
“Stop it! I’m awake. Let me enjoy my high girl..” He griped, not able to resist smiling at her. Seconds later and Ravyn was all in his lap, kissing on him.
Shaking my head at their antics I stepped down from the table as well looking around for Corey. I stopped searching for him when I felt a presence behind me. I slowly turned around coming face to face with him.
“You gotta stop doing that..” I chuckled breathlessly. Closing our distance I pushed myself on him taken aback by how cold his neck is. It sobered me up for a minute. “Were you outside?” I asked blinking rapidly.
“Yeah my pops was calling. Everything’s good. You okay?” He asked, kissing the tip of my nose.
“I’ve never been better. Thank you so much for coming here with me to celebrate my birthday. It means more to me than I have the ability to explain to have you with me on another birthday. And this one is the best one yet.” My breathing calmed down the moment I looked into his beautiful brown eyes. I used to get excited when I looked at this man back when we first kissed. But it’s like now he makes me excited but in a mental way. Being in his presence and in his arms brings me such a wonderful feeling of peace.
“You know I’d do anything for you right?” He mumbled, cuffing my ass in one hand and tracing my jawline with his index finger.
“Sin duda.” I nodded with certainty making the first move not even caring whose around to watch. Liquor makes me bold with my affection when I consume a high amount of it. Pushing into him I slipped my tongue into his mouth feeling like I got shocked. Any sort of intimacy with Corey is electric, fun, and purely satisfying to my soul.
“You obviously don’t care who's watching..do you?” He grumbled, walking to somewhere. I felt a wall connect with my back meaning we didn’t go far.
“No,” I hummed. Snaking my hand down between our bodies I fumbled with the button on his pants wanting to strip him of these clothes. The state of mind that I’m in has me wanting so badly to give everyone the show of their life. “I want you, can we get outta here for a minute?” I plead desperately, going to attack his neck with kisses. I can hear him groaning even with the music being so damn load. Swirling my tongue in circles against his flesh I gripped the lining of his pants and with gentle force pulled him as close to me as I could get him.
“Come on.” He said with lust in his tone. Corey put a stop to my little show, grabbed my hand and took me upstairs to another level of the club I didn’t know existed. We walked down a short hall coming to a door with a display sign for a manger but there are no words on it. I pushed the door open and flipped the lights on, trailing closeby. The music from downstairs followed us setting a good vibe in the room so it’s not silent.
“Is someone going to come in here?” I asked leaning up against the desk. Tapping my foot against the surface I carried on with the sounds coming from my heel and the desk itself.
“If they’re smart no one.” Corey shut the door and walked over to where I was standing. He stroked my chin, dragging his finger all over my neck and down to my chest. The warmth of his hand gave me goosebumps because of how anxious I am for what he’s going to do to me.
“What if they come looking for us?” Tilting my head to the side I felt my breathing halt and then speed up as he hiked up my dress. His hand went directly for my panties, pushing them aside to touch me with delicacy. “Hmm,” I hummed spreading my legs apart giving him the open invitation.
“I don’t care.” He shook his head, wedging his face in my neck. The passion in his kiss against my skin turned me on so much. Flashbacks popping into my mind left and right confused me at first and then the clouds settled. This is how it started. This is how we started. Our first sexual encounter happened at the club in a room similar to this.
Gasping in joyful, humorous delight I put my hands to his chest and created some space so I could see his face.
“What’s wrong?” He asked instantly.
Shaking my head I stood up straight. “I remember now. It’s all coming back to me. Our first time was the night of Brian’s party. Kind of like how tonight is going..” It’s so relieving to have my memories from that night come back to me.
“How did you figure that out?” He chuckled, continuing to touch and tease me.
“I don’t know. It just came rushing back a moment ago and it feels great to remember. Can we get out of here? I want you out of these clothes and we need space, a lot of it.” Looking into his eyes with desperation on my face I moved into him feeling my heart rate pick up.
“You want to leave now?” The confusion in his voice made me giggle relentlessly.
“Yes, yes right now.” I confidently said.
-------------------------
Stumbling into the room with me wrapped around his body, Corey somehow managed to double lock the door. I carefully hoisted myself up higher on his body careful not to dig my heels into his leg. We left Drai’s in a hurry. It was like a whirlwind and we didn’t tell anybody. Our needs paired with how fucked up we are, again, drove us to unspeakable lengths to get what we want from one another. And we’ve been apart all day so there’s a lot of pent frustration on both sides. Corey walked to the kitchen counter pushing everything off and setting me on top. Things breaking and dishes shattering made me laugh and feel slightly empathetic for whoever has to clean this up. Bubbling anxiously I laid back on some of my hair to prevent the countertop from touching my bare back.
Corey hurriedly unzipped, unbuttoned, and dropped his pants, pushing my dress up just far enough. He grabbed my thong with two hands, ripping the material with ease and some anger. The fire in his eyes and the speed of his actions aroused me even further. He lined up his pelvis perfectly with mine, teasing me ever so gently with the tip of his manhood. I watched what little I could see but threw my head back, arching my back up off the counter from his body making contact with mine. Sex with him makes me feel at home. I feel like my body was made just for him and him only.
I zoned into the large case of flowers but then I saw darkness. The comfort and pleasure in his deep, strong, and quick strokes made me emotional rather quickly. Usually it takes some time to build that emotion but not tonight. Lifting my left hand I found an edge of the counter to grip, relaxing my body and welcoming his change up in pattern. I never knew sex could feel so satisfying, sexy, and almost nurturing until I got a taste of what Corey had to offer.
“This is why you wanted to leave so quickly? You missed me?” He asked, picking up one of my legs to press against his chest.
I feel too good right now to respond verbally. I don’t know how at a time like this. I silently begged him not to talk. All that I want to hear right now is the sound of his body slamming into mine as he takes my mind further from reality. This time I sat up to take my heels off and gave them to him so he could set them aside. These are Giuseppe shoes, I can’t treat them like trash. With my feet bare I’m free to move them and my legs about without hurting him.
We traveled from the counter to the dining table, the couch, the floor, up against the glass doors, and then outside. The cool breeze brushing past us sent a chill down my spine. It’s been a minute since we got in the room but he won’t let me get mine. I’ve come close to completely defying his rule but he’s switched up on me with the location changes to ensure I could not.
“How long are you gonna make me ho-hold th-” My stammering speech came to a halt when I lost all control of my abilities to hold onto this orgasm until he told me otherwise. Being forced to not cum until you’re told is very sexy in a way and then it becomes damn near impossible. My body went limp as I finished coming down from the ride he put me on. His shoulder became my resting place. I can feel the moisture and sweat transfer from his chest to mine, bringing me more chills as the wind kept blowing.
“Is the birthday girl worn out?” His raspy voice soothed my throbbing head as his hands began to ease the tightness in my lower back.
“I don’t find you funny.” I muttered. Looking out at the city I blinked slowly welcoming his delicate affection to any and every part of me.
“Sabrina..baby..there’s something I need to tell you..” Corey cleared this throat, finger combing through my hair. Carli is gonna be mad at me because I’ve sweated out all of her hard work. Not too badly but enough for a touch up with my iron.
“What is it?” I mumbled, licking my lips and swallowing whatever saliva I could make to relive the dryness. All that screaming I did really dried out my mouth. I need a fucking drink.
“It’s abou-“ Corey’s talking was interrupted by knocking at the door. “Hold on tight.” He warned. I tiredly flung my arms over his shoulders and prepared for sudden movement. He carefully stood up, holding me securely and walked inside the room. The knocking continued as he moved closer to the bedroom. “Hold the fuck on!” He hollered over his shoulder.
“Who could that be?” I yawned slightly as he laid me down and covered me with the blankets.
“I’m gonna go find out. Just wait here.” Corey grabbed a pair of shorts from the chair and quickly put them on. I thought he was going to answer the door but I saw him take something from his backpack. I didn’t have the time to ask what he grabbed because he left the room so fast. Slowly I got out of bed and looked around for clothes to put on.
“Man, we had shit to do!” I heard Corey exclaim.
“Yeah and I can see that for myself. Y’all staying in for the night?” Another male voice asked.
Successfully finding one of his t-shirts I pulled it over my head with the material falling to my knees. Looking around for some shorts or pants I spotted some briefs hanging out from his suitcase. With me fully dressed in his clothes I left the room trying to tame my just fucked hair. My waves and curls fell a bit but I’m liking this after look.
“Well if isn't the princess herself. You enjoy your early dick appointment?” Brian joked the minute I came into view. He and some of the others from our group were all looking around the room in awe. Are clothes are spread out, there’s an open bottle champagne on the table, and the couch pillows are in random places of the room.
“It was timed perfectly. Did something happen?” I inquired taking a seat on the couch behind Corey. Laying my head on his arm I fought hard to obtain my laughter at the expressions Tori, Angie and their men were giving us.
“No. Brian, take Corey out of here. Come on let’s go.” Tori began kicking the guys out just as Ravyn appeared.
“Well thank god you caught them before act two. You, come with me.” Ravyn walked over to the couch and stood me up separating me from Corey.
“What the hell is going on? What are you guys up to?” I tried to get out the room but Ravyn stopped me.
“Oh no birthday girl. You’re mine now. I let you and prince charming slip away but now it’s my turn to take you out on the town. Go shower and I’ll find you something to wear. Go on, go!” Ravyn pushed me towards the bathroom and shut the door behind me without another word.
I have every ground to argue but honestly after what Corey and I just did, I’m too beat and airy headed to do so. I simply took a shower and went through the same routine as I did before we went to Drai’s. Whatever it is these girls have planned I don’t know if I’m ready for. But it’s still my birthday and I could use some food and maybe another drink or two. With my makeup completely redone I cleaned up my hair, securing the ponytail. Spray a little perfume on myself and borrowed Ravyn’s solid perfume she got from Lush. Leaving the bathroom in just a towel I saw the girls in all new outfits and no male voices outside.
“Come get dressed, we gotta get going!” Angie said pointing towards the walk in closet. With no argument from me once again, I slipped into the closet seeing a brand new dress with the tag still on it. I’m honestly so confused right now but I didn’t bother to ask questions or make any comments. I finished drying myself off, draped the towel over the chair and put the dress on. As I was zipping myself in I spotted a box that had Tom Ford written across the top.
“Oh boy..” I chuckled to myself. Going to pick up the shoe box I set it on the counter and removed the lid. “Holy hell..” I gasped quietly. A beautiful pair of smoke grey sandals neatly placed in the box and there was a card to go with the package. Flipping the white card over I smiled the second I saw his writing.
--To the most gracious birthday girl, I tried everything I could to not let Ravyn take you away from me but she’s stubborn as hell. Anyway..this is my last birthday gift to you. Ravyn picked these out so don’t give me any credit. Have fun with the girls tonight and I’ll see you in the morning.
I love you Lori, CIH
Setting the card back inside I took the sandals out and tried them not surprised they’re a perfect fit. Looking over my new appearance in the mirror I ran my hands down the sides and back of the dress. The first part of the night I was in an pearl color, satin dress and now I’m in a sapphire blue, satin, fitted dress. It wouldn’t be my first choice if I had the chance to pick it out myself but it’s gorgeous.
“You all done?” I heard Ravyn say at the door.
“Yeah I’m all done. What do you have up your sleeve?” I chortled turning to face her full on.
She nodded and grinned in approval. “You’ll soon find out my friend. Come on we gotta get going.” She ushered me out of the closet where I came face to face with another surprise I never saw coming.
“Mom?” My mouth fell open seeing my mother standing and waiting for me with the happiest look on her face.
“Feliz Cumpleaños niña.” She beamed walking up to me. Squeezing my arms around her little body I shut my eyes and took in her lovely scent.
“Oh mama..te extraño tanto.” I mumbled melting as she gently patted my back.
“Oh my love how I miss you so much more. I’m so happy to see you.” She backed up from me and looked me up and down making sure I was okay.
“What are you doing here?” I quizzed, smoothing down some of her curls.
“Ravyn told me that you girls would be here and she thought it would be a great idea to fly me out. You didn’t think I’d miss seeing you on your birthday did you?” My mom smiled softly, cupping the left side of my face, brushing her thumb over my scar smoothly.
Turning to look over at Ravyn I saw her standing by the door appearing like the proud parent watching her children reunite. “You did this?” I sniffles, wiping the corner of my eye.
“I know how much you’ve missed her and I thought well this is the perfect opportunity. Since Izaiah is back in New York I just hoped that seeing your mother would make you feel a little less upset that you can’t be with your baby today.” She explained. The rest of the girls introduced themselves to my mom and then we all started a brief conversation.
Having my mother here to speak to me in person on my birthday means the world to me. And Ravyn is right about feeling a tad less sad that I can’t see Zay today. Not that my mom replaced the feeling he would bring to me on this day but her being here helps a lot.
“And what would this be? You thought I wouldn’t notice?” My mom grabbed my hand bringing attention to the other surprise I wasn't ready to tell her  yet.
A heavy rush of nerves flooded my body as my mom studied my engagement ring. Toying with the ends of my ponytail I too focused on the diamond and the other two rings Corey gave me.
“It Just happened earlier tonight.” I shrugged looking to one of the girls for help. They simply held in their laughter as my mother held my hand up to his face.
“This is a beautiful ring honey, may I ask who?” My mother asked, gently rubbing my back.
“Corey..” I sighed feeling so much lighter on the inside.
The sheer look of joy on my mom’s face is all I needed to see. She’s accepting this relationship. She’s silently giving her blessing just with her look. “I’m so happy for you Delores.” She sniffled engulfing me in a warm hug. I melted in her arms connecting my own hand together to touch the ring wishing Corey were here. This is definitely a birthday to remember.

1nky Liveblogs The Suffering Game: Chapter 5
Current Status: WHO ARE YOU ROBEY DUDE??
“Magnus, what does it mean to be a hero?”
Magnus is gonna have the True Sight for the whole hour. This is gonna throw a spanner in Griffin’s narrative I bet.
“A hero is someone who acts without thinking.” to “A hero is someone who acts when it matters.” A good answer, Magnus.
Oh, the game’s over.
Aaand the marionette is revealed.
It’s still a creepy marionette who’s still creepy-laughing.
“Let’s call it a draw.” “Let’s move on, this has gotten weird even for us.” ME TOO
oh shit their opponents in the last round of Trust or Forsake.
They played the board game.
OH NO. OH NO IT’S ROWAN AND ANTONIA (screw Sterling)
Ohhh, he’s aged. And injured. and being comforted by Antonia. Nevermind, don’t screw over Sterling. Oh god.
she’s blind?
Rowan got drained of vitality??
oh g o d
oh g o  d
“Why?”
“I point at Taako.” YEAH PRETTY MUCH.
Taako doesn’t feel great physically - or mentally about this. “I’m over this.”
Magnus is being worn down emotionally holy fuck.
Merle’s okay. Sorta.
NO WE DON’T NEED A BONUS ROUND
A BONUS ROUND IS THE REASON WHY CAM GOT TRAPPED?
The bonus round isn’t optional, great.
And now the marionettes are inactive. That is super creepy.
They’re articulate.
MAGNUS TOOK A FUCKING ARM.
“Then I slap the laughing marionette with the arm” please make it stop.
Next room!
Escape game, healing game and recovering game.
... ohh, Cam did the escape game. That’s why that option vanished.
... Huh. He was betrayed.
...
‘older lady’
DIRECTOR??
LUCRETIA????
I WAS
SHE WAS SUSS BUT
oh god don’t lie about why they’re there. oh god
... how long has Cam been there? The trio been working for the BoB for how long??
... okay, we’re doing the Bonus round. Choosing Healing Game.
“Taako is suddenly hit with a deep existential dread.” YEAH, UH, BE SUPER CAUTIOUS.
What does True Sight reveal?
Huh. Is the suffering literally forming everything?
... oooh this sounds... bad.
“balance out your physical state of being.”
THEY’LL ONLY RECEIVE HALF THE VITALITY OF THE HITPOINTS?
Merle’s sending 40 HP. And it’s 20 HP in total...
“Man, that HP count is really low.”
“IS IT??? IS IT, GRIFFIN???”
Magnus is being stingy with his HP which is... kinda fair.
thank you for healing that skinned knee, Magnus.
The Red Robe’s been following after. Guess he feeds on suffering, too.
And Merle isn’t looking so good.
and Magnus has two skinned knees.
... the black smoke is just following them around from room to room, I guess? I might not be interpreting that right.
oh no it’s the wheel of sacrifice, again.
Edward just skips the introduction, ahaha.
What’re they gonna sacrifice?
THAT’S RIGHT THEY GOTTA SACRIFICE FOUR SPINS
... it lands on Swords?
“You will lose a fight. You will have a fight taken from you.”
... interesting. What exactly does that mean?
A battle he fought won’t exist.
HE’S TAKING A PENALTY??
OOOOH.
Yeah Magnus wouldn’t really want to give up any past fights.
“You get to be in Wonderland even longer!” god damn it
Merle spins!
... i-it landed on ‘Mind.’
OH SHIT. HE’LL LOSE THE MEMORIES OF THE BIRTH OF HIS CHILDREN.
“MERLE’S GOT KIDS??”
“WOW, MERLE’S A DEADBEAT DAD.”
oh right they didn’t know about his kids. He’s taking penalty too, I guess.
Taako spins - and he gets ‘Hand.’
Oooh, he’ll lose some dexterity.
Aaand he’s cool with this.
He trips immediately.
Magnus is spinning a second time.
... oh no, he’s landed on Body. This is gonna be bad.
... and he accepts this.
oh shit.
Well, he is a tank, but I’m still worried.
oh shit he’s gonna have to spin more. There’s Luck.
... oh the next is Mind.
...
wait
no
NO
NO NO NO
He
He’s gonna forget Governor Kalen.
TAAKO NO
Forget Kalen - a person he hates - or Julia - a person he loves?
“If you ever see a slimy asshole named Governor Kalen - kill him.”
h oly
sh it
h O L Y
SH IT
(and of course they have no qualms about this. “Your quest for vengeance ends.” “And ours begins!!”)
“That was real cool, Magnus.”
“What was?”
I’m worried about the potential repercussions of this. I mean... Kalen was a huge part of Magnus’ life, for better or for worse.
Taako spins - aaand it’s on the clock. Oh boy.
“Instead of taking your age from you - why don’t we take away something that diminishes over time. Like your beauty?”
OH NO I DON’T THINK HE’LL ACCEPT IT
“For the first time in your life, you will simply look... normal. You will look plain.”
TAAKO’S GOIN’ NORMAL.
“I cast ‘Disguise Self’ on Taako.” OH MY G OD
Well, Magnus can see him for real.
FINALLY, the door opens.
The Red Robe beckons to the next room. Yeah, I had a feeling he was the invisible friend.
oh boy it’s time for Trust or Forsake.
oh god he remembers Rowan
Rowan and his sad face.
He hits Trust. Of course.
AND THEY ALSO CHOOSE TRUST.
Alrighty, they’re moving to the next room - which is circular. And they’re... surrounded by screens showing vistas?
oh god more wooden marionettes.
a pile of them
“Are any of you feeling particularly... nostalgic?”
“Yeah I remember when we didn’t have to deal with this place.”
OH BOY THAT’S A MORE AGGRESSIVE BLACK CLOUD.
So the mannequins are kind of... building blocks for manifestations? Plus the Suffering cloud?
“Calibrating.” ohhh no
OH WAIT
ARE THEY BACK IN THE
THEY’RE BACK WITH SPIDER BRIAN??
AND MAGIC BRIAN???

Interview with The Ten Year-Old | New Year's Edition
By Brian Sweeney
This is an in-depth New Year’s interview with my girlfriend's 10-year-old daughter, Charlotte.
This is 100 percent real.
So, Charlotte, how old are you?
Ten.
And when is your birthday?
June 8, 2009.
So this is the second time you’ve been around for the end of a decade. Do you remember when you were almost six months old and it changed from 2009 to 2010?
Yeah. It felt like 2018 went around twice.
What?
I don’t know!
Okay. When you were almost six months old do you remember it turning to 2010?
I don’t remember turning it to 2010, but I do remember when it was turning to 2015 and I remember saying, “I’m gonna miss 2014.”
And was that the last time you were happy?
No?
You weren’t even happy then?
No.
Have you ever been happy?
Yeah.
Do you think in 2009 you were happy?
Yeah.
So this decade marks your sadness.
Of course.
Does it feel any different that it’s the end of a decade and not just the end of a year?
[shrugs and makes “I don’t know” sound]
What was the single best thing that happened this past year?
I don’t know. A lot of good things happened. And a lot of bad things happened.
Okay. What’s the best thing? The single best thing?
[silence]
Name one good thing that happened. Anything good.
I got two cute figurines.
Okay. Anything that happened in your life that wasn’t just acquiring something?
[My best friend] got a phone.
Is there anything that happened to you that resonated emotionally with you?
[silence]
You can’t think of one good thing aside from—
Hold on! I’m thinking!
[silence]
I learned how strong I am against Mike.
No. You can’t talk about beating up your little brother as the one good thing that happened this year.
Ugh! Uh…
One good thing.
Uh… Uh… I don’t… Ugh…
Let’s move on since that’s a really hard question for you. Pick three words to describe this past year.
Very. Awkward. Lifetime.
A lifetime? It’s only one year. They can be three separate words that don’t make a sentence.
Okay. Weird… [long pause]
Annoying…
Hey! All right. Weird. Exciting. And derpy.
What was your biggest personal change from January to December of this past year?
Now I’m stronger.
Physically?
Physically and mentally.
Mentally you’re stronger?
I don’t freaking know.
Doesn’t seem like you’re mentally stronger if one question makes you fall apart like that.
[laughs]
What was the biggest thing that you’ve learned this past year?
I learned that the human body sucks.
What advice would you like to give yourself as you begin the new year?
[stands up] Stop👏🏻 being👏🏻 a stupid👏🏻 idiot👏🏻.
I don’t think you’ll be able to do that.
Aww. Now I’m sad.
What was the best way you used your time this past year?
YouTube. And actually having fun with myself.
You had fun with yourself?
I know. It’s depressing.
How do you have fun with yourself?
When I’m just enjoying myself in, ah, very mysterious ways.
What would you be most happy about completing in the new year? Like, what is a project that you—
I don’t have any projects.
[silence]
This is a terrible interview.
I know.
What would you most like to change about yourself?
[stands up] Me stopping👏🏻 being👏🏻 a stupid👏🏻 idiot👏🏻.
What brings you the most joy in life?
I think what brings me joy is making jokes about me being a stupid idiot.
What musical artist would you like to see live in concert this next year?
Does it have to be a music star?
Does a musical artist have to be a musical artist? I don’t know what the hell that question means.
I want to see Bobby Duke. Bobby Duke is a wood art designer. He’s super talented and he’s just as funny and just as much of a stupid idiot as me.
Aw. No one’s as stupid as you.
[Charlotte throws a pillow at my head.]
Speaking of—
[Charlotte gets up and starts dancing and waving her arms around]
What is this?
I don’t know! I really don’t! Okay?
Is this what you do—
No!
—when you’re by yourself?
No! I swear!
So, Bobby Duke... There’s a monster named The Babadook. Do you know that?
No.
I’ll ask the question again that you answered Bobby Duke the wood artist, for some reason: What musical artist would you like to see live in concert this next year?
Melanie Martinis?
Martinis?
I don’t know how to say her last name!
MartinEZ!
Oh! [laughs] I’m so sorry! I’m sorry, Melanie! I’m so sorry!
Is Melanie Martinez your favorite now?
Uhh… Yeah.
Do you want hair like she has?
Probably. Sometime in my life.
Which one would you have?
The black and white hair.
How would you like your fashion style to be different this year?
I don’t know. Wear a little more black.
Where would you like to vacation this year? Anywhere in the world.
Ohio.
I said anywhere in the world and you picked two states over.
I like Ohio!
But if I came to you and said, “Hey, I have tickets to Hawaii or we could go to Ohio—”
Well, Hawaii has problems of its own.
What are you talking about?
I have no idea.
Do you think I’m saying you shouldn’t go to Ohio because of the “problems?” I’m just saying out of everywhere in the world, the place you would most want to go to is a state right next to us that you’ve been to before. As opposed to, like, the Galapagos Islands, the Bahamas, Japan. Okay. Ohio.
Yay!
What is a relationship deal breaker for you?
The first thing that came to my head was if they were racist— A couple things. One, if they support Trump. Two, if, like, I’m not blaming them, but if they genuinely really like bugs. I don’t—I hate bugs. Unless if it’s like a butterfly or a moth.
If they were like, “I’m really into bugs, I have a bunch of bugs at home…”
No. Go away. Where’s my gun?
But what if it’s Charlotte the spider? The spider you were named after. You of all people should like spiders. Peter Parker doesn’t hate spiders.
Who’s Peter Parker?
Oh my God. Frickin’ Spider-Man!
I forgot!
Do you want kids?
Well, I guess I would like kids, but, to be honest, I wouldn’t like to—this is weird to say—I maybe wouldn’t want to start, like, raising them. A baby is a lot of hard work, so I bet if I really wanted kids I would adopt a kid.
Past baby age?
I would want them to be, like, around six or seven, where they’re past the baby age, they can talk mostly, but like, there’s half of me that does like kids because, like, it’s cute, they’re fun, nice conversations about them, but also, you have to pay for everything. They don’t come for free. For education and school it’s a lot, and you gotta provide food, you gotta provide toys, you gotta provide, like, everything. So, I want to live kind of cheap. So a lot of me likes the idea of having children, but another part of me is like—if I do end up having a kid, adopted or [biologically], then I’m probably gonna make the man pay for all of it.
Okay, I’m now going to ask you questions that I asked you last year and see what your answers are now. Do you believe in ghosts?
Sometimes.
This is a big change. Last year when I asked you said “No.”
Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t, but when I do I make ghosts seem cool. Like, legit cool. Actually cool to be around. Not horror ghosts or something. Just cool. Decent. Nice. Like a ghost you could hang out with.
What's something you hope you grow out of?
What did I say last year?
“Biting my freakin' nails and toenails!”
[Charlotte laughs almost to the point of hyperventilating] Probably, this is a weird thing I do, and I’m being very real. Whenever I get a stuffed animal, I always treat them like they’re an actual person. If I accidentally drop poor Ramen [the stuffed bear] here, I’ll actually feel sad that I hurt him or something. And whenever I have a plushie or something, I’ll always have feelings for them. If I neglect them then I’ll feel sorrow for it.
What would be the perfect boyfriend or girlfriend?
I would want them not to be super jacked or anything. I would like a nice, decent figure. I would want them to be cute in a situation and like something would be funny. I would want them to be kind, of course. I would definitely want them to like drawing and art. Not if they’re good or bad at drawing, but they have nice interests. I would like them to accept how weird and dumb I am and how I make bad decisions pretty much all the time.
What are you most proud of about yourself?
Probably my personality. I am very proud of my personality and how I am.
What is the one thing people always misunderstand about you?
I think they don’t realize that I’m self-conscious a lot.
Because you are silly a lot so people are like, “Charlotte doesn’t care?”
Yeah. But, a lot of the time I’m self-conscious about how I look, how I act, how people think of me. Not really how they think of me, but more how do I look? And how do I act? Am I acting dumb? Stupid and like an idiot? So, yeah.
What is on your bucket list?
Making money off of art. That’s the one thing that I do want to do in life. Actually selling art or something.
What is your biggest flaw?
I guess being ignorant in a lot of situations. Not so much being like, dumb on purpose or on accident. But just ignorant and not knowing things that I should. Like knowing that math will actually help you in the future.
That’s what you said last year. Math.
Oh. Yeah. I hate math.
What's the most important thing that guys should understand about girls?
Please don’t interact with us if you know a girl has their period.
What is your favorite word?
It’s not an actual word, but it’s something that I say a lot, “whoop dee-doo.” If I’m sarcastic I’ll be like, “whoop dee-doo.” If I’m happy I’ll be like, “whoop dee-doo!” If I’m just bored and want to create a word I’ll say, like, “har har hardy doo.” I do a “dee doo.” Again, it’s more of an expression than an actual word.
Where did you get “whoop dee-doo” from?
I have no idea. I think I just like started making myself say it. I don’t mean, like, I made it up. But, I feel like it’s a Char thing. Like my catchphrase.
What is our favorite curse word?
[giggles] Uh… Probably just the classic “fuck.”

Leviticus 11:1-12:8, Mark 5:21-43, Psalms 38:1-22, Proverbs 10:8-9
Today is the 21st day of February, welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I am Brian, welcome to the Dead Sea. That's where we are now, the lowest point on earth. So, we could…we could for sure safely say it's all uphill from here. And it’s great to be here with you today as we continue our pilgrimage through the land of the Bible. And we completed day two yesterday and I’ll…I’ll share that with you in a little while but let's go ahead and center ourselves and orient ourselves to God through His word. And we’ll be continuing our journey through the book of Leviticus today by reading chapters 11 and 12 and we’re reading from the new International Version this week.
Commentary:
Okay. You guys remember like a couple weeks ago we were talking about the law because we were entering into, you know, the…the actual giving of the law and that's kind of where we are now. So, were talking about that and we were talking about the letter of the law and the Spirit of the law, which is a theme that the apostle Paul speaks heavily about, but we have a really good example of this today. So, in the book of Leviticus the children of Israel are in the wilderness, which is something that those of us who are in the land of the Bible, like we've been experiencing this. So, we now know what this looks like, and we now know what they were up against. So, in today's reading we have blood issues, special female blood issues. So, yeah, I mean the kinds of things we want to talk about every day. But this is childbirth and monthly flow issues. And, so, this would make her unclean. And, so, there was this way then to become ceremonially clean over a period of time and some hygiene and stuff. And, so, like we could be like, “this is…what's going on here? What’s this in the Bible for?” But if you're in the wilderness and there's a million of you and there's no hospital, right, like there's no 24-hour clinic anywhere. There's nothing like that. Then the flow of blood, like that in this day and age, that's a biohazard. So, there’s practical reasons for some of the things that are going on here that we can…we can go like, “well that's kind of constricting…well that's kind of strict…well that's kind of…” but if you lived in the desert and there…like none of the conveniences that you…that we take for granted even existed. You get a sense of okay, “yeah I can see why we would really, really want to keep some things tight because we don't want diseases spread throughout this entire community. Like, this could be devastating. So yeah, we gotta…like if we’re gonna be a culture we have to have ways of…of watching out for each other. And, so, that makes sense. And then there's these provisions of becoming ceremonially clean and restored into community and having the ability to worship with the community, enter into God's presence.
So, like let's assume for a couple thousand years and land ourselves in the first century in Jesus time and we have this interesting encounter with a woman who was bleeding. And she had been bleeding for 12 years, which means for 12 years she had been ceremonially unclean. That's the letter of the law. So, kept outside of community worship, kind of kept outside of the presence of God because of uncleanness, perpetual uncleanness. So, we have the letter of the law and then we have Jesus, God incarnate, and this unclean woman touches Him. That then makes Him unclean too. And He knows it's happened, so He stops, and He starts looking around for who touched Him. And she is terrified now because the implications are profound. There's a crowd. She made a rabbi unclean. Anything can happen here. So's she's trembling with fear and she comes, and she kneels before Him and tells Him everything. This is a woman who’s unclean. By the letter of the law she should be nowhere near Jesus. And if it were God's intention to keep unclean people away from them, then He should have stopped the whole thing and said, “who touched me” and…and then had her punished for breaking the law. That's not what He did. That's not what God incarnate in the person of Jesus did. She was healed. She could made clean. She could be fully restored. The letter of the law would've kept her outside and an unclean state until somehow, she stopped bleeding as if she could do that because she’d done everything she could to become clean. Her faith made her whole and God was there to tell her, “go in peace daughter.” That's the spirit of the law and hopefully that gives us some context as we continue working our way through the law, of understanding that laws can be rules that are meant not to be broken, but underneath them is a reason. If the reason is forgotten, then the law is about control and power. And we can see in Jesus today that's not what God's intentions are or were.
Prayer:
Father, we thank you for your word and we thank you for all that it brings into our lives, all the things that it gives us to consider and think about and contemplate and meditate upon. We thank you for that. And in the story that we read today, we see so clearly your heart toward your children but we have to confess that we are often guilty of trying to be the keepers of the law and we look at what everybody else is doing and what they're breaking and we’ve lost the plot. We forgot that there's a Spirit here. And the reason for all of this is to draw us back together with you so that we might have life. So, come Holy Spirit into all of this we pray and we ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Announcements:
Okay, so we are here in the land of the Bible on our 2020 pilgrimage and this would be our…third day…third day I think. Yeah, I think that's right. And yeah, we’ve been in the desert, we’ve been in the wilderness since we departed. We’ve been wandering around and I'm not sure it quite feels like 40 years yet but we…we’ve been in the desert. We’ve had this experience. And so, we ended up at the Dead Sea yesterday and that…and that was fun but…but when we left Eliot, when we left the Red Sea yesterday we came up into the wilderness and we were able to go to a place called Timnah where there's some very ancient Egyptian ruins. And this is a place that it's believed that Solomon mined copper, like mined minerals down in this area. And, so, there's some connections there. But there's also a scaled…a scale size replica of the tabernacle.
So, the children of Israel are wandering in the wilderness and they have this tabernacle for the worship of the Lord and it’s sort of the center of their culture and community and that will be replaced by the temple at a later time but this is this portable temple basically that travels around with them. God's signifying, He will be with them, He will be among them. And, so, we got to see that. And just…just seeing it is…is enough, like to go like, “here actually in the desert that we’re talking about, this life size replica…like I can put myself in the position.” But then to go in and actually experience it, to…to move, you know, into the outer courtyard, and then move into the holy place, move toward the mostly holy place, like to do all of these things and put yourself in this position brings an enormous amount of context. It’s so helpful to just…to begin to sew through the threads of redemption that weave their way through all of the stories of the Bible. So…so that was great.
So. from there then we had to drive a couple of hours north and descending toward the lowest part of the earth, which is the Dead Sea, but we got to visit a place called Masada, which is a very ancient stronghold, dates back at least to the Herodian period because so many of the archaeological things there are from Herod's time, but it had been a stronghold, probably for a long time. It's…when you’re up there you can see like how impenetrable the whole thing is. You have to ride like a cable car up to get up there. I mean you can run up there, but you gotta be in extraordinary shape and have plenty of time. So, it's just a…yeah…just a fantastic place. And there’s just unbelievable stories that…that are really identifying stories for the Hebrew people that, especially from the time of the destruction of Jerusalem. So, we remember Jesus predicting the destruction of Jerusalem…of the temple and we know…and we know that that happened a couple decades after…after His ministry was completed. And, so, Jerusalem was destroyed by the Romans because of rebellion. And, so, the rebels…you know, once…once the tides have turned and the Romans…Romans have decided they’re gonna crush this, that was pretty much what they planned to do, level the whole thing. And, so, rebels would, you know, escape. And Masada was one of the last places of stronghold and those…once the Romans were about to breach, once they were about to come in, then, you know, the people had a choice of freedom by death basically or slavery and torture. And, so, there were many deaths. But anyway, it’s…it's just really a remarkable place. But the views…the views of the Dead Sea and across to Jordan and of the vastness of the wilderness are spectacular from there. So, that that was that was enjoyable.
And then we made our way to the Dead Sea and we worked our way down to the to the shore there and…and just talked for a little bit about where we were and what we’d been through in the last couple of days and how to aim our hearts for the evening a little bit. And then it was that it was a part…a mud party at the at the Dead Sea. So, I mean the Dead Sea is really…you can float in it and that's an understatement. Like you pretty much have to float in it. It's really, really super dense. But man, it does something to your skin. I can put my…my hands in the Dead Sea and take a them out and all of a sudden like…like I’m…I’m like a kid again. And, so, it's always a fun, fun, fun, fun time.
And, so, that's…that's kind of where we are in the adventure and we’ll be continuing our journey North today and there is a lot to do. This is a full day but by the time we end the day we will be in the Galilea.
So, thank you for your continued prayers. It is coveted, it is needed. It is what sustains us. I believe that. So, continued prayers over the buses and vehicles and the logistics and the technology and the people and the weather and the health and stamina is…everything that goes into this, we thank you. It makes a world of difference for us to know that, yeah, that thousands and thousands and thousands are praying for us, but are also with us in Spirit….like that even though we can be here representing this community, this is a virtual thing and we’re all in this together. So, thank you.
If you want to partner with the Daily Audio Bible you can do that at dailyaudiobible.com as well. There's a link on the homepage and I thank you for those who have clicked that link over the years, well from the bottom of my heart. We wouldn't be here if we weren't in this together. If you're using the app, you can press the Give button in the upper right-hand corner or, if you prefer, the mailing address is PO Box 1996 Spring Hill Tennessee 37174.
And, as always, if you have a prayer request or comment 877-942-4253 is the number to dial or you can hit the Hotline button in the app and begin to share from there.
Also reminding you if…if you're intrigued, if you’re like, “I want to do this, I…I want to go on that journey” we have plans to come back next year. Registration for that pilgrimage is open now. You can find it at dailyaudiobible.com in the Initiatives section. You can also find it in the app, just click that little drawer icon in the upper left-hand corner and it will open a drawer and you’ll see the Initiatives section. So, you can find out all…find out all about it there. These journeys are usually almost full if not full by the time we return. So, take a look. Love to…love to see you next year in Jerusalem.
And I guess…I think that's it for today. Wait…that's all for today. This Saturday, this Saturday we will be doing a Facebook Live from the Sea of Galilee. Yeah, that’s just a couple of days from now. So, we all gather and it's kind of like a little debrief about, you know, what we've experienced so far and then we also Facebook Live and just kinda let us tell you the story of what it's like to be here, what we’re experiencing, what we’re seeing and then take some questions coming in from you as you're watching and just about what's going on. So, that's always a fun time. It's about an hour long. So, it will be 7:30 PM local time, that's…that's the time in Israel. For those of you back in the United States that’s like 1:30 PM on the East Coast, 12:30 PM in central time where Nashville is and 11:30 AM in the mountain zone and 10:30 AM on the West Coast. And then if you are in London, I believe that will be 530 PM. if you’re in Australia I'm not sure when…it may even be a different day, but all you would need to do is like Google the difference between where you are and Tel Aviv and find that kinda time difference and then you can figure it out and we’ll be going live. So that's always a blast. So, looking forward to that. Hopefully you can attend and be there too
And I think that's…I think that's it for today. I think that's it for today. I'm Brian I love you and I'll be waiting for you here tomorrow.
Community Prayer and Praise:
Hi Daily Audio Bible this is Alyssa from New Jersey I’m calling for the family of Diane. I just want to let you know I’ve been praying and I’m so sorry for your loss. Praying for the boys. I believe that Jeremiah 29:11, “for I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to give you a future and a hope.” And I just want to encourage you to go through the grieving process and know that according to Thessalonians it says that “we will be again together, we will…the dead in Christ will rise first and we will rise to meet them in the air and together we shall be forever with the Lord.” So, I know that we have to go through the grief process, even Jesus wept. And just know that Diane finished her race, that she heard, “well done good and faithful servant”, and that we can go on letting her be an inspiration to us all to keep our faith to the end and to keep our eye on the prize to the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. So, just want to let you know that I was deeply moved by Diane’s initial prayer and then the prayers thereafter. And I just want to let the boys know that God is always with you and that you have the body of Christ around you to help you through this time. I’m also autistic. I have high functioning autism. So, you touch a special place in my heart. So, you’re in my prayers. I love you.
Hello, this is Kim in Las Vegas and I just wanted to call in and say I’m doing so much better this…this time and it was only a couple months ago that I called but all the depression issues, confusion issues, and when I thought that the growth that turned out to be an enlarged uterus was cancer, which it wasn’t. But through that whole thing Christ was talking to me and the six weeks on  that film in LA I just had to sit and wonder what was going on with me, why I get so down and depressed and just got to spent a lot of time with Christ and a lot of time figuring myself out. And to say that God has filled me with joy is wholly His doing and it’s also help from you guys, everybody who’s been praying, everybody who calls in to pray because I need that too, I need to have people to pray for. And the fact that you guys call in and share that is important because we all need to pray for each other. We need to spend time in prayer and while we want to be selfless and pray for others all the time it’s important that we pray for ourselves as well. So, remember that everybody who calls in. We’re praying for you as well but I hope you’re praying for yourself because that’s important. We need to pray for ourselves and each other. But anybody struggling through darkness and pain right now, know that you can come out on the other end. I didn’t feel like I could even though in the back of my mind I didn’t know I could come out in the end it just didn’t feel like it. But Christ will fill you with joy. You just have to make it through whatever obstacle is in the way and walk into that next stage of life. Christ is with you. You may feel lonely and dark but He’s there. So, anybody who’s feeling that pain, you’ll come out on the end. We love you. And this is Kim in Las Vegas. Thank you.
Hi DAB family is His Welsh girl. I’ve been listening to the community prayer and I just have this picture of, you know, any time day or night when we are listening to the Daily Audio Bible that we are praying for our brothers and sisters all around the world. And, so, it’s just…it’s just a beautiful thing and I just want to thank God that He’s provided this, such a source of joy for us. But also, I just feel quite sorrowful because a few days ago I heard about Diana Davis. And, so Michael and Elijah, please know that we are praying for you and we hold you…we hold you in our prayers every day and your family. Candace from Oregon, thank you for singing so beautifully. I know that my redeemer liveth for Charisse and for her husband Rubin who passed away in early January. So, just Charisse please know that we’re praying for you. And Kristi from Florida, I’m praying for you today on the 14th of February, Valentine’s Day because I know that you’re moving from Florida to Ohio so to be close to your family because of your sister passing away. And I am so, so sorry about your grandfather too. So, please know that that we are praying for you and be…and know that Jesus is so close to you. Thank you, family. And God bless.
Hi Daily Audio Bible this is Julie from Maryland and I have a little story about how awesome God’s timing is. I am Jewish and I am also born again. I came to Christ in 2012. When I first came to Christ I…I felt like I had to announce my Jewishness and embrace Christianity and now I’m realizing that the devil is a liar and my identity is my identity and I am a Jew who believes that Jesus Christ is the son of God and it’s changing my life every day. And what’s really amazing is, recently…so I had a baht mitzvah when I was 13, which is a coming-of-age ceremony for Jewish girl, bar mitzvah for a boy, baht mitzvah for a girl. And I’ve been exploring my identity and I’ve been…I remembered that the portion of the Torah that I read during my baht mitzvah was about…was about the building of the tabernacle. And, so, when Brian was talking about how it must be boring listening to the discussions of the plans for the tabernacle, I was actually getting really excited because I was trying to figure out, “oh I wonder what was my part.” Long story short, I was going through some old books and old pictures and I found my Torah portion and I found my speech and it was the same part of Exodus that we had read that day in Daily Audio Bible and I was floored. And not only that the beginning of it was about the Sabbath and I recently started observing my own Sabbath. But thank God that…that Jesus has come so that we can be united with Him and we don’t need a day, we can just come to Him and rest of all times. So, I just wanted to share that story with you all. I hope you have a wonderful, wonderful day, afternoon, or evening.
Good morning DABbers this is Fonny from Northern California. This is a call in response to anonymous who identified herself as pink paint as an artist and its response to her beautiful heart cry for prayer and her step of faith in venturing into the community to request prayer for herself at this time. It’s apparently a very difficult time for her. I…I just admire your…your beautiful expression of the understanding colors. As you shared your request, as I was listening this morning, I was watching a beautiful pink sunrise come up over the horizon and I am…I am praying for you sister. I understand tough times and struggles. Sometimes joy and sorrow are two sides of the same coin. But I’ll be praying for you that God will come near, that He’ll come close to you, that He’ll…He is the one that draws near to the brokenhearted and He will comfort you and He will surround you. I pray for strength for you that you will meditate on the word and that you’ll be able to see a new day dawning. Love you my dear. Bye-bye.
Hey everybody this is Jared the Encourager. Pink Paint, I just heard your message and your description of the hopelessness you’re feeling right now. And I’m an artist as well and your description of God’s ability to use other colors and colors we don’t even exist…that we don’t even know exist in heaven and hell, even how we are all colors that come together is just such a beautiful description of the body of Christ and something that really grabbed onto me. And I’m just in tears. I, you know, my name is Jared the Encourager, I know that’s a gift God has given me, but I haven’t called in much over the last couple months because I’m…I’m in a similar place where I’ve just been really battling hopelessness. And, so, I want you to know that you’re not alone. And whatever color I am is being used by God in His masterpiece to build together His body and up courage…and encourage and uplift no matter what you’re going through. Your birthday is exactly one month after mine. Anyway, I’m praying for you and I’m praying for the rest of you, reminding myself and hopefully encouraging the rest of you along with me that there’s always something to be thankful for no matter what. Love you guys. Take care.
Hi family this is his little Cherry in Canada and I heard Pink Paint’s message and I know that it resonated with so many of us. Pink Paint you are going to get a lot of responses, a lot of prayer. You have such a beautiful heart and such unique way of expressing yourself. I love the artistry that shines from your…your prayer request. You’re such an artist you can’t even leave a prayer request without it becoming a poem. So, I bless you and I just want to pray for you and let you know that Jesus is so enamored with you. He loves every little thing about you. You make Him giggle so much in ways that you would surprise you. I just see and feel His delight in you. You know what? You are beautiful. You are breathtakingly beautiful and I think if you could see the colors that refract from your heart you would be overwhelmed and amazed because there’s definitely a lot of pink going on but there’s a whole lot more happening in and through and beyond just that obvious color. This may seem like a strange message but I love you and so does He.
