When i was young i had so much rage in my body

Every injustice, every form of hatred and cruelty and bigotry i wanted to fight

And it kept bubbling under the surface until it filled me up

And then it was gone

And all i felt was numb

It was all too much: school shootings, overturning of roe v. wade, police brutality, violent trans rhetoric and laws

Ive felt that ever since

This hollowness, exhausted because nothing was changing

Every where i looked something awful would happen

And it became normal

And i wanted to feel some kind of rage, SOMETHING

And now, i see a man self-immolate for a genocide

And i feel that same hollowed out feeling

How can our government have allowed us to become numb to this?

In the face of genocide, I am numb

I am 20 and I am numb

And i am so angry at that fact

Im furious

The government has turned a blind eye so much so that a man has to light himself on fire

And yet it is nothing compared to what is happening in Palestine

I dont want to be numb anymore

I dont want to be like the politicians and bigots and conservatives who do not care

I want my rage back

Literally what is the point of contact/schedule forms on doctor's office websites where all they do is reply back with an email telling you to call them to schedule an appointment. How could that possibly be useful for anyone

#might as well just replace it with text that says 'call to schedule an appointment' and save your workers the trouble of having to type it #+ save your patients the trouble of typing out their issue and then having to wait 24 hours for a response for absolutely no reason #WHAT is the point????#why do you want to PRETEND that you offer the option of submitting a form to schedule only to then say sike when someone actually tries #HOW DOES THAT HELP ANYONE #rambling

#misc #I encourage anyone dyslexic to try rotating him in your mind. I can’t do that; which is why I’m asking you to.#also: a bunch of tags are surprised this isn’t ‘shopped #it’s the lighting. backlit by the sun (which is diffused through the water) but also forelit artificially #the artificial light - a flash pack or something - casts a hard shadow under the creatures arm #which normally wouldn’t be possible if backlit by the SUN; you’d see a less-hard/more-fragmented shadow above water #as light sources ‘compete’ in a sense - and since there aren’t any light sources which can outshine the literal sun #it looks a bit weird when the darkest shadow is being cast from any other origin point - which is what’s essentially happening here #I don’t know the mechanics of how light travels through water; but I know the effect is substantial even with relatively short distances #also: it’s been balanced and color corrected by the author of the photo - who made deliberate choices to bring out the full potential #so it’s not like it’s a fresh and untouched export #but the kind of ‘tacked on’ appearance of the creature is a result of the lighting conditions within the image

people are drawing Steamboat Willie Mickey doing all this crazy shit and whatnot, but you could always do that. you can do that now, with current Mickey, just fine. it's fanart and it's legally protected. hell you could take Disney-drawn Mickey and put a caption about unions or whatever on it and it would still be protected under free speech and sometimes even parody law.

what is special about public domain is that you can SELL him. you could take a screenshot and sell it on a tshirt. you can use him to advertise your plumbing business. people have already uploaded and monetized the original film.

you could always have Mickey say what you want, but now you can profit off it.
