My Early/Initial Thoughts on the new Rainbow High Dolls
So today- the new Rainbow High dolls, dubbed as "Wave 5" have had their promotional images leaked! I am super excited for our new characters, and wanted to make a short post going through each one, and what i currently think of each one.
THE NEW BOXES
I'm not a big fan of the new boxes. I'm really upset to be losing 2nd outfits, and would pay extra money if it meant getting them. The accessories are fine too, and I like that the new dolls seemingly come with more. Not all of them are equally as cool as the other though, which is a shame.
The plain, square box feel very un-Rainbow High- i would have rather they kept one of the sides rounded, perhaps looking similar to the JH boxes? Also, what's up with the "Scan for free toy!" QR?
KIM NGUYEN
From surname alone, we can see she will likely be Vietnamese, which is really cool!
Personally, I'm not big on her design. Her hair & face make her look like a Cleo DeNile bootleg, and i really don't like her denim outfit. It's very similar to Heather's, but falls flat in comparison.
It's super cool she comes with the old sewing machine mold- i love the silver details.
OLIVIA WOODS
I'm so excited to see an Olive toned doll- and she does not disappoint ! Olivia's face is so pretty- and I think she has freckles? I love her outfit, it gives a sort of camo or camping vibe off. Her sunglasses are also super cute.
I love her hair & makeup- it suits her so well! Based off the fact she comes with a hairdryer, i am thinking she may be a cosmetology focus, like Stella?
VICTORIA WHITMAN
Possibly my favorite of the set! I ADORE her soft pink dress, and natural strawberry blonde hair. I'm also so happy to see a doll who is covered in freckles, instead of just having a few big dots across her nose and cheeks.
She is so soft and sweet looking, and I hope she lives up to that.
MICHELLE ST. CHARLES
She's giving retro-futurism and i LOVE IT! Her clear coat and orange dress are to die for, and she has longer nails! It's not super easy to see from the photos, but Michelle looks to have much shorter hair than the typical RH doll, which is so cool to see.
Michelle's makeup is equally as good- so cool to see her rocking a bright orange lip!
Michelle lowkey looks like a character from LazyTown, Go Jetters, or Hi-5 and i LOVE IT.
AIDAN RUSSELL
The final A to get a doll! And... I'm so upset we're getting it like this, and not as a fashion closet.
Aidan looks very similar to the show, with his jacket, shirt, and shorts all matching. In addition, they gave him some cool jewelry! I'm so glad they did not give him the default face mold, and is it just me but he has a different nose shape?
My biggest gripe is his hair... looks bad. What happened? Could they not give him soft spikes, like he does in the show?
PRISCILLA PEREZ
If I'm being honest... she's a slightly better Stella Monroe. I like her more coral-y colour more, and her face mold, but other than that, she just looks like an Updated version of Stella.
I love how her hair looks, though! The style is just so pretty.

Based on this scene, I think is either Olivia or Skyler since their hands are not in the shot.
Victorias hand is also not in the shot, but in the video it's shows her saying "Wow, I never won anything before!", so I'm pretty sure she stays, at least for round one.

What's your opinions on each rainbow high wave 5 doll?

Before I give a review for each individual one I will say the only series 5 doll I don't care for is Aidan. But other than him omg the girls are all so pretty!!
Victoria Whitman: I absolutely love her pastel pink dress and adorable freckles! MGA nailed the strawberry blonde theme for her. And she's Australian too* so extra bonus points!! (*I am not Australian but I have wanted to visit the country since I was a little kid. They have the best wildlife in the whole world!)
Priscilla Perez: When I first I saw her stock photos, I wasn't too keen on her. She looked too much like Stella Monroe in my early opinion. All that changed when I saw her in person at Target's. She is gorgeous in real life, and I really like her makeup!
Michelle St. Charles: She's tied with Olivia Woods for my favorite series 5 character! Again I was worried upon hearing there would be another neon orange character (since Meena was in series 4) but oh my god she absolutely slays! I need a human-sized version of her jacket PLEASE!
Olivia Woods: As previously stated she's one of my two favorite series 5 dolls. I can't think of a single thing I dislike about her! EVERYTHING about her is just perfect! Her design is absolutely flawless and the shade of green they picked for her is perfect. I don't have any series 5 dolls yet but she is the only one I am actively trying to buy.
Kim Nguyen: I don't have strong opinions about her either way, but I will say she is very very pretty. Her eye makeup is beautiful and I swear I'm the only one who likes her jean dress lol! I wouldn't mind adding her to my collection as well, and I'd LOVE to buy her to make a custom of my OC Vada.
Aidan Russell: Oh boy, where do I even start with him... I've never been a big fan of Aidan, which could be one reason why I don't care for his doll that much. The rest of series 5 is just so stunning, his design really falls flat. I will say I like his eyes though, and some of his accessories.
So yeah, those are my opinions on Rainbow High series 5!!
