Character Name:

Vera Antonovna Galkina (Russian: Вера Антоновна Галкина);but her birth name was actually Nozomi Kusunoki (Japanese: 楠木望美).

Background:

Vera is the adopted daughter of Anton Galkin, a formerhigh-ranking KGB officer who was notable for his skills, efficiency, andimpressive track record. He was also notorious for his strictnessand…borderline cruelty. However, he changed when one of their missionsencountered some problems and caused the deaths of hundreds of Japanesecivilians in a mall at Osaka. This was also the time he encountered the infantVera, who was orphaned after her Kazakh parents died in a fatal car accident.Vera’s parents were very close to Anton as they worked together before, so headopted her as his own. He named her after her deceased daughter. By the way, Anton’swife died years before due to childbirth. The infant also did not make it.

Summary:

· Vera was raised by her ex-KGB adoptive dad Antonin St. Petersburg, Russia and taught her many languages.

· Well, he basically trained her to possess theskills of an agent.

· Anton was actually gentle on Vera.

· She graduates from a cadet school in Moscow.

· She enrolled in a private high school. Oncethere, she gets sent to Japan as she qualified for the exchange studentsprogram. Anton didn’t like it at first so they had a bit of misunderstanding, but he eventually allowed Vera to study in Japan.

· Anton asks Yuri Biryukov, a Japan-based ex-KGB memberand sleeper agent for the Russian Federation, to look after Vera.

· Yuri’s “life” in Japan is that of an expat. Healso smokes and drinks occasionally. Also, he does not take his sleeperagent job seriously as much as he did during his KGB years.

· Vera finally meets Yuri. Yuri thinks Vera lookslike his greatest love – a Japanese woman named Ritsuko Sagara.

· Vera and Yuri talk about a lot of stuff. Yuri tellsVera his friendship and budding love with Ritsuko.

· Yuri was younger and fitter then; Ritsuko wasstill a student in Tokyo, but…Ritsuko is basically badass. She’s a toughie.

· Originally fromOsaka, she lived with her relatives when she received a scholarship from aTokyo high school.

· Due to circumstances, they parted ways. Many yearspassed.

· Eventually, Yuri heard that Ritsuko became a writerand married an engineer named Tomoya Kusunoki. They have one child.

· Months later, Yuri and Anton became involved ina disastrous mission. The end result? Civilian deaths in an Osaka mall.

· Yuri found out that one of the casualtiesincluded Ritsuko and her family. He had a feeling of void since then.

· Anton realized all his mistakes and just lostit. Eventually, he found an infant who survived the incident.

· To atone for his sins, he took the infant to St.Petersburg and raised her as his own. The infant was Vera.

· Yes, the Kazakh parents story was a lie.

· Vera eventually discovered this and shizz hitsthe fan.

· YAN PALANG NAIISIP KO HAHA. Pero matatanggap dinnaman niya and mamemeet niya yung biological relatives niya.

· Vera’s story is just a small part of a biggerstory. The other protagonists would be Nadezhda (a Moscow-based college activist)and Lyubov (a Russian woman raised in the US; she’s popular in her school butshe denies her Russian roots). These other women also have their own taste ofaction.

· Note that their names possess a Christian theme:their names stand for Faith (Vera), Hope (Nadezhda) and Love (Lyubov).

The general theme naman talaga sa dream role ko is for anaction movie; a school girl who will suddenly find herself in the world ofintelligence and espionage. Aaaaaaaand laging involved ang Russia.

What's Yuri's story?!

OH BOY I'M SO GLAD YOU ASKED ANON (warning, this is gonna be a bit long).

So, my boy Yuri Galkin is the first and only child of his parents, Vera and Petyr Galkin, although they tried for more, they were unsuccessful. Yuri was born female, but knew at a very young age that he was male. His parents were mostly supportive (his dad moreso than his mother) -- his dad just wanted someone he could talk to about tinkering and technology. :)

Sadly, when Yuri was seven, his parents were both killed by a roaming pack of gnolls (the town they lived in was in the middle of bumfuck nowhere in an area called the Demon Wastes...so yeah). The town had no orphanage, and so Yuri was shipped off to a nearby city in the Commonwealth of Mistrizi Koni. He was delivered to an orphanage there that was actually just a gang, the leader of which is named Ismo.

The kids there were raised to an 'appropriate' age, and then put through an initiation ritual that consisted of being tied to an anchor and held under water for two minutes. A lot of kids died. Yuri survived and was named a member of the Doomed Orphans (hence forehead tattoo).

Yuri remained a gang member there for twelve years, barely scraping by, nearly dying a few times. The city of Raadost is one of the worst places in this world, constantly in the midst of a plague, being squeezed of all resources by the rich, swarming with rats, etc. Yuri was severely mistreated and was usually a scapegoat for any sort of blame by the other Orphans.

When Yuri was 18, he decided to sever ties with the gang (or attempt to). For a year he hid out in the city, dodging the Orphans trying to kill him or drag him back, scrounging whatever food and coin he could. One night he decided to rob a warehouse belonging to some very powerful people. That was where he encountered the Perdition Blade.

The Perdition Blade was an ancient artifact capable of killing demons permanantly, it is also tied to a powerful devil known as Baron Carmine. Thus, a pact was formed, although unintentionally, between the two. Something about Yuri was different than all who came before -- apparently many had tried to wield it but succumbed to corruption. Yuri did not. At that moment, he became a tiefling.

He was then spirited away by two of Baron Carmine's allies, and taken to a magical school run by a flippant shitty wizard named Tibalt. He hated it at first, and wanted nothing more than to run away, but has now grown close to his teammates, who consist of an aasimar cleric, a drow wizard, and a genasi bugbear monk.

SO YEAH. That is his backstory, there's a lot more that happened since though (growing horns, getting wings, finding out his parents are gnolls now...)

Hopefully this was of interest to you guys -- Yuri is my blorbo and I love him immensely and I could talk about him forever.

Got more Yuri Qs: you said you gave him an accent, what is his accent lmfao? I need to know in what head voice to read 'this cums' from that one comic. What do his parents think of his boyfriend/what does boyf think of the now degnolled parents? Is he gonna multiclass into artificer after learning from his poppa? How do his parents think of his whole warlock deal? Did they think he'd be something else?

Also, does his Dad know his son inherited his hoe genes. Does yuri know he gets it from his papa?

Oh my gosssh these questions are 😳 I love it!

His accent is what I can best describe as 'Polish', except I do not know a lick of Polish, so it's really me trying my best. I watched a lot of videos of Polish people speaking English to try and get close to the accent - his voice is higher pitched and very nasally, and he has a bit of a 'backwater twang'. Lowborn speech pattern, basically. Maybe one day I'll do a voice recording!

His father ADORES his boyfriend Niram, even if he is a drow! His first reaction upon learning that Niram was his boyfriend was quizzing the wizard on his mathematics and Niram passed easily, and so Petyr adored him and considers him family now. Yuri's mother...she didn't like it at first. People are just kinda racist to drow, it sucks. But she's getting better and even hugged Niram during a family dinner. She thinks as long as her son is happy, she's happy. Niram respects the Galkins, especially Petyr, as a master craftsman. He's...intimidated by Vera and her constant judgements. He's a bit of a perfectionist and there's nothing more intimidating to a perfectionist than someone who is CONSTANTLY JUDGING YOU.

I think that he's either going to multi-class into artificer or paladin, but more likely artificer! He's already learning how to make bombs and disassemble machines - his newest project is outfitting a flying broom for Niram with sick jets and shit.

His parents...aren't sure about the warlock thing. They want him to be safe, and his Patron doesn't seem very safe. Yuri's father is concerned about the horns and wings. Vera meanwhile is interested in the prospect of a POWERFUL PATRON supporting Yuri, but also she's extremely protective so if anyone fucks with her baby boy...>:I

If they hadn't been horrifically murdered during the time they did, and Yuri had gotten to have his parents, I think he would have become an artificer like his tata. However, now that they're back...well, Yuri can give it another shot!

YEP. Yuri definitely inherited his hoe jeans from his dad. Petyr Galkin is #1 Wife Pleaser, #1 Wife Guy. Upon hearing that Yuri nabbed himself a cute boyfriend, Petyr Galkin replied: WOO, THAT'S MY BOY! We love a great dad.
