Total TV Guide Interview - Issue 12 [18-24 March 2023]

Death In Paradise spin-off Beyond Paradise has given us the chance to see DI Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) relocate from Saint Marie to be with his fiancée Martha Lloyd (Sally Bretton) in her hometown of Shipton Abbott, on the Devonshire coast.
While Humphrey works with the local police, Martha has fulfilled her dream of opening Ten Mile Kitchen. But their happy ever after hit an unexpected bump in the road with the arrival of Archie Hughes, Martha’s new business partner - and ex-fiancée! ‘Archie doesn’t want to intrude,’ says Jamie Bamber. ‘But actually, it’s Martha and Humphrey who have walked into his world. Archie belongs there and has made a successful career. She’s the one that who went away.’
The owner of three vineyards, Archie became Martha’s saviour on the eve of the café’s opening after she ran into financial difficulties. Now he's involved in the business. And this week when a food critic reviews the eaterie, he hints at a bond between the pair. ‘Archie’s slightly egotistic side is flattered that a stranger can see their chemistry and he quite enjoys that affirmation, in a male pride kind of way. He’s got nothing in life that’s out of place - until he sees Marta again and realises that maybe this is the one thing he got wrong. But she is so in love with Humph, so that’s complicated. In any story you need obstacles and Archie is an obstacle to them.’
For Jamie, joining the series was a joy. ‘I haven’t done any shows, before, that the whole family can sit down to on a Friday evening. This is deliberately a broad audience. There’s a great whodunnit, the denouement is different from your average TV closed-room murders as the crimes are a bit more inventive.’
With Archie being a vineyard owner, did Jamie brush up on his wine knowledge? ‘Actually, when I was a student, I worked in a fine wine shop in London. I’ve also lived in France and travelled around and visited a few vineyards. For me, wine is a metaphor for having your feet in the soil. It can be overblown and overcomplicated and made fancy but fundamentally, wine is a crop and that’s a great analogy for Archie. He’s a simple bloke who’s got quite a sophisticated lifestyle because of the means he has.’
While Devon an Cornwall is a beautiful part of the world, are there any regrets there was no trip to Guadeloupe? ‘Funnily enough, I’d been offered to do Death In Paradise before but it didn’t work with my schedules. Maybe Archie can go there on holiday?’
Jamie himself is very well-travelled. Last year, he filed a police show, Cannes Confidential in France. An English language drama, he’s currently dubbing into French, and he’s also made a thriller in Barcelona for Netflix, reuniting him with Strike Back’s writer, Jack Lothian. But his next trip is closer to home to celebrate his 50th birthday in April. ‘I really wanted a parted, but it’s a big year on lots of fronts for my family. So we’re going to Ireland. I’ve got family over here, so I’ll be catching up with cousins in Northern Ireland, a bit of Dublin, the Antrim coast, some golf, maybe some Guinness, some Bushmills and seeing the Irish countryside.’

TV Guide & TV Station Magazine (Kansai Editions) ft. King-Ohger Cast Interviews for Adventure Heaven (translation below, spoilers)
TV Guide: Half movie talk (beginning), half fun free talk (second half)
TV Station: All movie talk . . . _
TV Guide (page 38-39)
Sakai: The film has wonderful guests such as Shido Nakamura-san and voice actress Ayane Sakura-san. The interaction with them left a deep impression on me.
Watanabe: There's a scene where Gira (Sakai) fights with Reiniol, who is played by Shido-san.
Sakai: There's also a scene where it looked like they were performing tsubazeriai (crossing swords and getting in each others faces).
🕷️Ikeda: Was it really intense when you faced each other?
Sakai: It was too intense! The atmosphere created the moment the cameras started rolling was beyond overwhelming, and it almost felt like I was being "swallowed up." I thought I was going all out, but I guess I wasn't. When we decided to do one more take, Shido-san said, "Come on!" He was very enthusiastic.
All: Whoa~!
Sakai: It feels like I'm only half joking, but he created an atmosphere that said, "Come at me again," I was able to give it everything I had.
Murakami: During the filming of Gira's coronation, I had an opportunity to talk with Sakura-san, who played Devonica. We all had the chance to talk with her and noticed she has a really nice voice.
Hirakawa: It almost resonates.
Murakami: We learned a lot about voices. She performed various voice patterns in front of me, such as low, high, resonant, straight, and a voice with an emotional range. It's an experience that only you can only see in this film.
🐝Kaku: Like the TV series, the CG in this film is amazing. We were surprised to see such original backgrounds, which are even more beautiful and fantastic than those in the TV series. As we watched it on the monitor we were amazed while going, "Oooh." I hope everyone can experience the scale of this film at the theater.
Hirakawa: I think the story is enjoyable, and contains a strong message.
🕷️Ikeda: I would like to encourage you all to see it on the big screen, as I'm sure you'll be impressed by how it evolves from the TV series in so many ways.
Sakai: It's been about half a year since the TV series started filming, and everyone in the cast is naturally getting closer to each other.
🐝Kaku: (to Murakami) You've been making alot of funny faces recently, right?
Murakami: Eeeh? you noticed?!
🕷️Ikeda: When you're tired right? (laughs).
Murakami: Mainly when I start my "engine," or when I'm sleepwalking. Sometimes it seems as if I'm not listening to what others are saying. The other day, Aoto-kun was holding a bottle of water and saying something weird like, "If you want this water, you have to pay 1,000 yen."
Watanabe: If you cut that just that part out, it sounds like a totally unfunny joke! (laughs)
Hirakawa: I'll start from the very beginning (laughs). Aoto-kun walked along a muddy road in the heat to get water for the film site.
🐝Kaku: It took about 20 minuets.
Hirakawa: That's why he jokingly said, "1 bottle is 1,000 yen."
Murakami: But I had just woken up from sleeping and was still feeling abit fuzzy, so I accepted what he said with as normal with a, "Thank you," while making no comments (laughs). If I were my normal self, I would've been more careful and said something. But in this worksite, you can be relaxed without worrying about anything.
Sakai: Lately, you've even started to make yourself laugh (laughs).
Murakami: I was able to train myself, since everyone is so good at boke-tsukkomi (double act)
🐝Kaku: My arms, are up (banzai) (laughs).
Hirakawa: It's about relationship trust. You can go big, because I think everyone will pick up on it.
Sakai: That's right. If you say something, someone will surely pick up on it.
Murakami: Thank you.
Sakai: Finally, which of the 5 countries in the story would you rather live in?
Murakami: I'd want to live in the country of Toufu, where Kaguragi (Kaku) is a Lord. I think it'd be really fun being one of the his citizens, because it's full of hospitality and delicious foods.
🐝Kaku: If there's filming in Toufu, rice is always served.
Hirakawa: Their rice is very tasty. I'd like to live in the country of N'Kosopa, where Yanma (Watanabe) is King, and I'd enjoy my life relying on technology. I want to leave everything to the machines and say, "Take care of me."
Watanabe: Although it's not depicted, I've always thought that there's a sauna in the country of Gokkan, where Rita (Hirakawa) is the King. That's why I want to go to Gokkan, for the sauna.
Hirakawa: If I ordered it, they might make one, but it's too cold to bathe in the open air of Gokkan (laughs).
Watanabe: I see (laughs).
🐝Kaku: For me it's Queen Hymeno's (Murakami) country of Ishabana. If I have an injury on my knee or shoulder and I want it to be healed, it'd be easy to do so.
Sakai: I think I could become macho.
🐝Kaku: Yes, yes. I'm sure you're doing a lot of health research on that.
Sakai: I'm not…
🐝Kaku: Say Toufu.
Sakai: Maybe Ishabana…
🐝Kaku: Why not?! (laughs)
Sakai: Maybe it is Toufu. I like the country side feel of the place! It's like there's nothing there…
🐝Kaku: "Nothing." That's a bit harsh, isn't it? (laughs)
Sakai: I'm joking, I'm joking (laughs)
🕷️Ikeda: For me it's N'Kosopa. I want to play games with Yanma and win.
Watanabe: Oooh~ sounds good!
Hirakawa: Well, It's a tie (laughs).
🕷️Ikeda: Shugoddam isn't popular, huh…(laughs).
Murakami: Shugoddam is a country full of small happiness, but many forms of it.
Watanabe: But, if I were to bring my camera, I would take it to Shugoddam. The architecture there is beautiful.
🕷️Ikeda: It's a European-styled town…and what do you mean "if you bring a camera?" (laughs)
Sakai: The question was "if you want to live there." (laughs)

TV Station Magazine (page 96-97)
"Bonds of the Young Kings"
Sakai: The first film for Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger will be released, and when I first read its script, I was very excited to see how the coronation of Gira would turn out, and thought alot about how I would act out his responsibility as king.
Watanabe: When I read the script for the confrontation scene in the film's climax between Gira and Reiniol (Shido Nakamura), the first King of the Kingdom of Death, It made me remember my audition. At that time, I was asked to watch a confrontation scene between Gira and Racules (Masato Yano), and Gira truly looked as though he was shining. As for myself, between the two of them, I was more influenced by Reiniol's way of thinking this time, but even still, I want the children to see Gira succeed.
Murakami: There were multiple scenes in the film where I thought I saw a new side out of all six of us. I wasn't sure how the scene where Hymeno meets her parents in the Kingdom of Death would be executed, so I prepared myself alittle for that part before we started filming.
Hirakawa: I was curious how we would film Gira's coronation and, on a personal level, how we would express a side of Rita that they had not shown before in the TV series. I was looking forward to it, but was also a little worried about possibly ruining what I had established so far.
🐝Kaku: I was very excited about the whole story, including the development of Gira's determination to become king despite hesitating. There are scenes where Kaguragi touches on his past mistakes, and It makes me understand what kind of mindset he had when he became king, so I can't wait to see how it plays out in the film.
🕷️Ikeda: I was honestly impressed by Gira's words. Going to the Kingdom of Death made me think a lot about the meaning of my life and, "what does happiness mean?" I think you'll be able to realize it, that even the smallest of happiness is such a wonderful thing.
Murakami: Between takes, I had a chance to talk with Ayane Sakura-san (Devonica), and she showed me how she does her voice in various patterns while right in front of me. It was a unique experience that can only be seen in this film.
🐝Kaku: The whole film was shot with green screen, but the backgrounds of the world were more magical than those found in the TV series. I was truly impressed by how beautiful the CG was.
Sakai: I think it was the scene where Shido-san and I are fighting. I wanted to go all out, but I guess I was alittle nervous, and the scene lacked some impact. When they decided to shoot the scene one more time, Shido-san said, "Come on!" he was very encouraging and created an atmosphere of excitement. Thanks to him, I was able to give it my all.
🕷️Ikeda: The cost of Gira's coronation has become a hot topic for some time. It's really cool, isn't it? It seems to be one of the main points this time.
Sakai: I also thought it was cool.
🐝Kaku: Also, the fight scene at the end is cool. Saying famous quotes before battle.
🕷️Ikeda: I think the film shows off everyone's good sides, such as how a king is supposed to act.
Watanabe: The part where each king confronts their past, Hymeno's scene had additional dialogue at the end, didn't it?
Murakami: I added the lines.
Watanabe: That part was really well done. I personally thought it was cool.
Murakami: I didn't know how it was going to turn out, and I was also worried about it, so…thank you (laughs).
Hirakawa: Gira, Yamma, and Rita perform actions in their pre-transformation stage. We worked hard on it, and I think it came out looking cool.
Murakami: I also really like the way in which Kaguragi confronts the past Queen.
🐝Kaku: Thank you. The scene with Yanma and Shiokara (Chiwata Yuhei) is also interesting.
Watanabe: Gira is both very straightforward and cool, so I hope that children will think, "I want to be like Gira too." With that, I hope you'll come to the movie theater with your family to see it.
Murakami: Each line has its own message, and feels like it has weight to it, so I would be happy if you could feel them as well.
Hirakawa: I think the message is very strong as the kings face their past. The story is also connected to the TV series, so I hope that you;ll enjoy.
🐝Kaku: The production of the film is different from that of TV series, so I'm sure that when people see the film, they'll think, "King-Ohger looks very interesting."
🕷️Ikeda: The world view of King-Ohger will evolve further and will definitely impress you when you see it on the big screen, so please come and see it.
Sakai: I would like you to see the determination of each king on the big screen. I'd be very happy if you could come to the theater to see this film, which we put alot of effort into. We look forward to seeing you!

"My little sister doesn’t even think of me as her brother any more — she thinks of me as a TV star.” - Peter Tork, TV Guide, 1967
“I read in one magazine that Peter thinks I don’t think of him as my brother any more, I think of him as a star. Well it’s true I think of him as a star, but I do think of I’m as a brother too and a very nice one. Peter is the kind of person I’m sure every one who likes excitement would like to live with. He likes to play guitar a lot and will do most of the things you want him to. If you want to get him a gift, Peter likes good books, and groovy shirts like the one on the cover of ‘Last Train to Clarksville’ single. Peter is good at imitations like W. C. Fields. […] He can do Donald Duck too.” - Anne Thorkelson, 16 Spec, Summer 1967
“Peter ran away from home twice. This happened when he was three years old and lived in Detroit. The first time, he ran away from home to get out of going to nursery school; the second time, he ran away to go to New York. He didn’t make it that trip, but he finally did many years later. [...] Peter’s very first ambition was to dismantle our phonograph, and unhappily he did with great speed and great thoroughness. Peter’s first job was as a paper boy. None of us, including Peter, remember how much he made. He was always liberal when it came to money — and he still is. Peter loved to start clubs when he was growing up. He founded the Wild Goose Club in Madison and the Tiger Club in Mansfield Center. In the Tiger Club, all the members had code names Peter’s was ‘Phantom Tiger’ (P. T. — get it?).” - Nick Thorkelson, The Monkees: Here We Are (1967)
“Peter likes people around him. His old house had been too small to accommodate his many friends and acquaintances, so he had decided to buy a bigger one. The new house is almost too beautiful to describe, but I’ll try. Peter’s home sits on the side of a mountain, facing the valley, and on a clear day you can see all of Los Angeles from his terrace. It’s a truly breathtaking view. The shrubbery surrounding the grounds and the pool is a sort of desert brush, and there are orange and lemon trees growing on the side of ‘his’ mountain! The inside of the house is something else again. There are a total of 14 rooms, seven bathrooms including a sauna bath — and there are five fireplaces! Peter had one room made soundproof for those loud jam sessions musicians are known to have! During our two-weeks visit with Peter (which, by the way, was our first trip to California), we had a wonderful time. There was never a dull moment. We had barbecues on the patio, pool parties, and we went just about everywhere! Peter took us to Disneyland for an entire day, to the famed Coconut Grove nightclub, to Whiskey A Go Go, and we even went dancing at the Factory — a private club where all the stars hang out! But, of course, the nicest part of the whole trip was being able to spend so much time with Peter. The days seemed to just whiz by, and pretty soon it was time for us to leave California and go home. The last thing I remember was Peter shouting, ‘See you all soon!’ — as we boarded the plane that would take us back to Connecticut. After a few weeks, everything returned to normal. Then, late one August night — the eve of my 16th birthday, to be exact — my sister Anne heard a noise in the driveway. She went to the window and saw a strange car pull up. Before she had time to wonder who it was, out popped Peter! What a surprise — and what a birthday present! Peter was so exhausted after his trip from California that he fell asleep on our living room couch — moments after he entered the house! The next morning at breakfast, Peter was the first to wish me a happy birthday. Then he told me that his gift for me — a bright red MG-TF sports car — would be arriving in a few days! That nearly knocked me for a loop, and I couldn’t believe my ears! In Connecticut, we are allowed to drive at 16 years of age — and needless to say, that car was the greatest birthday gift I ever received! But Peter had a couple of additional surprises in store for us. He was wearing a beautiful silk shirt which he had especially made in Hollywood. And since my brother Nicky and I admired it so much — he reached into his suitcase and gave us each one! Anne was right there with her handy camera to take pictures of ‘The Three Musketeers’!” - Christopher Thorkelson, 16 Spec, Summer 1969

[TRIVIA]
The Prince of Tennis 10.5 Fanbook | Publication Date: 11/02/2001
Although he’s lived in the US, he still prefers Japanese food and isn’t fond of Western food
People tend to be aggravated by him due to his abrasive personality, but he means no ill-intent by it
He gained his arrogant and abrasive personality from growing up in the US
He will speak his mind regardless of how it sounds as he believes it’s a way of being kind
His first name is written in katakana rather than kanji. It’s alluded that it may be due to his mother being another nationality besides Japanese
Konomi had Ryoma wear a hat since he thought it was cool, and wanted people to associate his FILA hat with him
He is called “Shorty” by Kikumaru but does not mind it since he says height doesn’t matter in tennis
He likes grape-flavored Fanta/Ponta
He keeps everything he needs for school in his tennis bag, hence why he gets confused when some items are still in it
His personality is described as pessimistic, but shy and gentle and is always striving for improvement
Konomi originally did not intend for him to be the protagonist. The role originally was going to be given to Kintarou, with Ryoma being his rival. He initially thought Ryoma would be difficult to portray as a protagonist, be better as a sub character and that making him the protagonist would dampen the mood of the series. He eventually decided on Ryoma and built the other characters around him
Konomi describes him as a “bad guy”, and that him defeating people who are even worse is a focal point of the series
The Prince of Tennis 20.5 Fanbook | Publication Date: 12/04/2003
He is described to easily get engaged in a single subject and then excel in that area
When he concentrates, he will become so absorbed in what he’s doing that he will not pay attention to his surroundings
He is described to be suited for professions that require special skills, such as a pilot or astronaut
He is very susceptible to change and has an insatiable desire to become stronger
One of his favorite subjects is chemistry since the science behind the substances changing, combining and gaining different properties reminds him of tennis
He doesn’t remember when he started playing tennis, and states he thinks he’s been playing it since he was born
His secondary sport would be soccer
The Prince of Tennis 40.5 Fanbook | Publication Date: 12/04/2007
He is described to be sociable and lively, but doesn’t get too involved in his personal relationships and tends to be reserved
His friends and schoolmates often visited his house when he lived in the US
He did not know what “Old Maid” was until he played it at the joint training camp with Rokkaku
In Genius 305, when he had won his match against Atobe and everyone huddled around him, someone had quietly handed him the shaver, but it’s a mystery on who it was
He considers Kintarou to be quite strong, and wouldn’t mind having an official match with him someday
He is the character Konomi states he has the least in common with, the second being Tezuka

Remembering the early days of the DW revival in North America
Tumblr media
(You never saw this in the UK or US) (Source)
With the return of Russell T Davies upon us, there’s a lot of nostalgia for the early days of the Doctor Who revival, the years before ... well, name a controversy. Lots of hope in the fanbase that RTD will be able to bring back the feels of the early days (and not just among those who were too young to remember the heady days of 2005-2010). There’s also a lot of hand-wringing over the fact that outside the UK the series will be part of the Disney+ family. But non-UK networks have always influenced the show in a lot of ways.
Not everything was good - I have some real negatives below - but here’s a quick list of memories of the early years of the revival, which began at a time the mainstream in North America was still very much of the mind of “Doctor who?” and dismissed it as a grainy old series that usually aired after Monty Python on PBS after midnight on Saturdays.
I remember:
* When we had to wait months between UK and Canadian broadcasts. Just imagine trying to avoid spoilers today!
* When the Sci-Fi Channel in the US allegedly rejected the show for quality reasons. So many American fans didn’t get to see the first series with Eccleston for about a year (or had to order the DVDs).
* When Series 1 did air in Canada, the CBC had Christopher Eccleston record intros, commercial bumpers and “final comments” that included a mixture of trivia and promos for a “visit the set of Series 2″ contest being done with the Canadian edition of TV Guide (ironic, I know). By the time Christmas Invasion aired, Chris had left so they had Billie Piper do the intros and bumpers for it. They dropped the gimmick for Series 2. Thanks to the TV Guide tie-in, Doctor Who also got its first-ever cover on the iconic magazine, albeit only in Canada.
* When most episodes of Series 1 ended on the CBC with short documentaries and interviews with the Canadian DW fan club; one of them I believe was responsible for spreading the notion that the 1996 TV movie was titled “The Enemy Within” (which was just a suggested title apparently).
* The difficulty in getting the Series 1 DVD sets in Canadian stores due to the “Doctor who?” factor. I recall I had to special order and it cost me close to $100 in 2005 or 2006 money. And at the time only one DVD retailer (back when they could be referred to in the plural sense) would touch it. Amazon wasn’t a thing yet.
* The CBC not airing the part of “World War III” that resolved the cliffhanger of “Aliens of London”. For the CBC that was their “dancing animated Graham Norton” moment.
* How the CBC, after the initial flurry of interest, seemingly forgot about the show (a charge made by the main Canadian DW fan club a few years later), resulting in Runaway Bride airing after Series 3 began, the main CBC never airing Voyage of the Damned at all (leaving the Series 3 cliffhanger unresolved), and airing a 42-minute edit of “Journey’s End” that was totally incomprehensible (and delaying the broadcast until after the DVD release of Season 4). Torchwood likewise was bounced around. Soon after, the CBC cancelled Doctor Who and Space Channel (now CTV Sci-Fi) picked it up, eventually airing Voyage of the Damned and moving to same-day broadcast with the UK. They also picked up Torchwood. (Sarah Jane Adventures only aired on the BBC Kids cable network and either was cancelled or the network folded so we mostly saw it on DVD only; K9 never aired here at all, but again was on DVD.)
* The CBC also never showed the Children in Need minisodes, so I believe we had to wait for DVDs before seeing the prequel to Christmas Invasion and the Time Crash crossover.
* The sea-change when Series 5 arrived; Sci-Fi (Syfy) in the US and Space were now airing it the same day as the UK, though for here they added a US-style prologue to the opening credits with Amy explaining the concept of Doctor Who.
* When Sci-Fi aired Let’s Kill Hitler in the US with a special animated mini-episode during the commercial break promoting a sponsor - something that would be absolutely unheard of on the BBC! (It used to be on Youtube but I can’t find it anymore.)
* The “good old days” when most of the “good stuff” (basically anything involving video or gaming) on the BBC’s main Doctor Who website was “geolocked” and inaccessible to North American visitors. Fortunately this didn’t include the minisodes created to promote Series 2, but people had to sail the high seas (or later turn to Youtube) to obtain stuff like the mini-episode Karen Gillan made as a tie-in with an Amy Pond game and some of the scripted stuff Sarah Jane Adventures had on its site, and the Captain Jack’s Monster Files webseries starring John Barrowman.
A lot of this is in the past - as far as I know there are no longer restrictions on BBC website content (or if there is, it ends up on Youtube in about 10 minutes anyway); same-day broadcast is the norm; it’s easy to get DW-related DVDs and Blu-rays (though it remains to be seen if we ever see anything from RTD 2.0 on permanent media here in North America with Disney+ in the picture); and the idea of Syfy or CTV Sci-Fi - or certainly Disney+ - taking a 75-minute episode and trimming 30 minutes out of it for broadcast as was done to Journey’s End is impossible to imagine. Sadly though, at least for now, the enthusiasm for the show where people did care that Let’s Kill Hitler had an extra scene for the US only, or that Billie and Chris recorded exclusive materal for the CBC ... it too is in the past. I hope RTD is able to restore it and prove you can go home again.

Okay this is kind of dorky but could I maybe have some mikey hc where he meets I guess Casey's cousin or little sister or whatever (the reader) and they're like super quiet and shy at first but after awhile they surprise everyone bc theyre almost just like Michelangelo? Can be super goofy and loves video games, just not very feminine? Idk it sounds kinda silly XP if it doesn't spark anything dw about ignoring it
Michelangelo x Fem. Reader
Tumblr media
I have a lot of requests for the same thing so they're a little delayed due to disinterest, but when I finally saw something different, I almost cried. I was so ready, I like diverse requests. I assumed it was a female reader since you mentioned a sister and not being very feminine, but let me know if I'm wrong and I'll re-write it.
🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕
Want more from me? Check out my Masterlist!
🍕Dudette🍕 (TMNT or Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles)
Warning: Fluffy as a perfect pizza slice, like, 2 curse words, low-key became a one-shot bc I got into the zone
As far as Casey was concerned, you were off-limits to the boys, but...Mikey always had that little rebellious streak.
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
One day, Casey let it slip that he had a sister
The guys were literally so confused because he never mentioned a sister before
Mikey immediately wanted to meet you
"Don't even think about it. She's off-limits."
But due to April being eager to meet you and the woman wanting her family to meet you, he relented.
He definitely was cool about it as he awkwardly leaned against a wall, thinking he looked badass
He didn't.
"Hey, sis. My girlfriend really wants to meet you...and her brothers..."
You groaned at your hand, wiping some pizza grease on your sweats, holding your game remote in one hand to continue playing for a moment, "Uh...sure. That's pretty normal at this point, right? You've been dating her a while. Why d'ya you look like you're preparing for a battle royale game? Are her brothers bigger than you or something?
As you stood in front of a group of gigantic turtles crowded together after meeting April, you realized, that, yes, they were much bigger than Casey.
Now you realized why the couple seemed to be trying to ease you into meeting them.
Now, you thought they were exaggerating. You were expecting much worse, like evil ex-convicts that eat brains or something.
But you supposed giant turtles with weapons should've been more concerning to you.
While on the other hand, the brothers were concerned themselves.
Were you nice? Would you be scared of them? Were you just like Casey? Were you like the girls they saw on TV, in the magazines, or like the typical eccentric New-yorker?
But turns out, you were dressed pretty simple, oversized hoodie with a bold pattern, shorts, and combat boots, seemed you weren't a total fashion-crazy girl.
You didn't look like a girl in the typical media, but you were still pretty.
They were confused about whether or not you were scared because you didn't say anything and just barely made eye contact.
Mikey decided to be the ice-breaker, hoping to make you feel a little more comfortable by complimenting you about your look.
"Thanks...I'm [N-name]."
Despite your brother writing you off as shy, Mikey didn't truly think you were at heart. Your fashion sense said differently.
"Mikey, back off."
But telling Mikey something is off-limits is like telling him to do it.
As Mikey decided to introduce everyone and be your tour guide, he ended up hogging most of your time, showing off his art, hoverboard, and anything else he could find.
Until Casey finally found you and dragged you away, but you didn't mind, you wanted to meet April, too.
Then you wanted to come back again.
And again. And this would be the fifth visit.
But this time, there was Pizza and Mikey was playing your favorite game.
"Dude, Pizza and Party Crasher 2? I'm in literal heaven!"
They all were quite surprised by the sudden change in personality, usually, you were much less...talkative.
Mikey snapped out of it first, "You like meat lovers, Dudette?"
"Hell yeah."
"You're totally free to grab a slice."
"Hey, is that Vileior? You unlocked him? Wicked, takes mad skill."
He offered a second remote and a few minutes later you were playing. The playing field was even, you both were good at that game.
Mikey groaned as you both joint-battled a superhero, "Mr. Cool is totally relentless!"
You scoffed, "Jeez, with a name like that, he really needs to get laid.--That's like a username a twelve-year-old playing as fifteen would have."
A totally pretty girl who loves pizza, video games, and isn't afraid to get dirty?
Sorry, Casey. Mikey won't be able to keep you off-limits for long.

Maturing Fast - Part 3
My dad made clear I would be punished for breaking the rules, but I wouldn't receive the punishment until the weekend - and that the severity of the punishment would depend on me not breaking ANY further rules in the meantime. I had to act - and look - like an angel. Literally. Monday night was awful. I wasn't allowed to watch TV or even change out of my uniform. Instead my dad showed me how to bull my shoes. 2 hours later and my already ridiculously shiny shoes were now reflecting my face in them. Grim. Tuesday morning and I was watched like a hawk as I was instructed on what to do. More pomade on my hair. slick it further back. Create a bounce in the quiff at the front. Put your glasses on. Make sure your tie is straight.... I sighed my reflection today hadn't improved any from yesterday. Today my parents were taking no chances - my mum dropped me off right at the school gate much to the delight of my mates. There was no opportunity to try and alter my appearance before anyone saw me, and the derision was so much worse than yesterday. Everyone was loving that this once trendy guy in front of them had been totally transformed into a four-eyed, side-parted, formally attired, nerd, who was without doubt the most conservatively dressed person in the school. Even a couple of the teachers were commenting on my very sudden dramatic change in appearance - and I'm sure I caught at least a couple of them smirking. My form teacher told me that my mum had been in touch - if there was so much as a hair out of place on my head, then this was going to be reported immediately back to my parents and I knew the consequences. The week continued like this, with the kids trying to wind me up more and more - they'd take my glasses or scuff my shoes, or see what they could get to stick in my greasy hair. But each day I was forced to turn up looking like the class joke. It was so clear that no-one in their right mind would choose to look like this, and I was now clearly under the thumb of someone much older and draconian. My appearance was no longer down to me, it was dictated by someone who thought it was a good idea to look like a 1950s throwback. My relationship with my group of mates quickly became more distanced. I wasn't allowed to hang out with them after school, and even trying to play a proper game of football was difficult in these shoes with the slippery soles and rigid construction - but ultimately, they just didn't want to hang out with a nerd. And it was clear to all, that, despite all my years of being a normal, relatively trendy guy, now counted for nothing - and my haircut acting as clearly as a light up sign placed on top of my head - I was - suddenly and totally - a nerd. I was trapped in formality. By Friday afternoon I was just looking forward to the break from the humiliation. My dad met me at the school gates and told me we were going to get some weekend clothes for me. This didn't sound good. At the shops my dad guided me round. First stop was for some check shirts in a variety of shades of creams and blues. Next stop was trousers. Some green twill trousers, blue corduroys and then a pair of fawn trousers were all selected - as if I'd wear any of this stuff? I was so frustrated. Then to cap it all off, a brown tweed jacket was added to the pile. This was like something out of an old-fashioned country magazine photoshoot. No one dressed like this. Despite my protests the items were all bought. Then it was a return to the shoe shop where a pair of very sensible brown brogues were purchased. My grandad owned a very similar pair. As did my dad. That figured.
Tumblr media
Back home the bombshell hit me - all my old clothes had been removed. I asked where they'd gone, and was told it didn't matter - I wouldn't need them now. The old clothes weren't appropriate. I went to bed totally dejected, and absolutely exhausted. What would I need to do in order to get back control of how I look? I was woken on the Saturday morning with a call that we were going out shortly, and I was to get ready. The normal routine followed. Shower. Pomade. Comb. It was like a military process, but I did it as I just didn't want the hassle. I was broken after the week's taunts, and being haunted by the image of the boy with the slick side parting, goofy clothes and monstrous glasses. Going through to the bedroom my prescribed outfit had been set out. cream check shirt. Blue cords. Brown socks. Brown brogues. I started negotiating. Pleading. What if one of my friends saw me? Surely I'd been through enough? I'd already had to ensure the forced new look at school, surely I deserved a break. And this is the 90s, not the 70s - parents don't dictate what their children wear. My dad told me that, especially as I had yet to have my punishment I'd better do what I was told or else. I got dressed. It was horrible. The heavy cords made my legs feel weird and hot, and the brogues were really heavy and clumpy, while the shirt was the ugliest, most out-dated thing I'd ever seen. "And why aren't you wearing your glasses? You must always wear your glasses now. You need them, and they really suit you - they complement your look perfectly. You are now a formally dressed young man, and your hair and your glasses are part of that now. This is who you are. " No. Just no. Nothing about how I looked suited me. It suited an old age pensioner, not a teenager!!! The tweed jacket was thrust at me. I put it on. Yet again defeated, humiliated and angry. I looked in the mirror. The outfit looked just like one my dad would wear. That was the point, I guess - humiliation, but how long would it go on for? We were soon outside the barber again. "Time to smarten you up again" my dad said. I was bemused, as my hair hadn't had a chance to grow since the butchering of a week ago. As we went in, the barber was clearly equally bemused - though I wasn't sure if that was fully because of the lack of time since my last visit or my extreme new look. He commented how mature I looked. Yuck. My dad said that I had had some trouble earlier in the week with keeping my hair in order, so he wanted to sort it out. The barber asked if he was thinking a crewcut - "2 all over is no maintenance" was his suggestion. However my dad said no -"to be honest, if his behaviour doesn't improve, he'll be lucky not to be shaved to the bone, but for now, he's still getting use to having a more formal look, and I've made allowances for that - though I'll tolerate no more rule breaking - but I do think the side parting really suits his new look, and he'll soon grow to appreciate it. It just needs to be a bit shorter so that he can't muss it up, but so it still sits smartly and lies down as it should, especially while his hair gets used to growing in a side part." Tha barber said "ok, well how about we start with a number 2 on the back and sides and see how we go from there?" My dad agreed. How could my hair get any shorter? I already had less than about a fifth of the hair of almost anyone else in the school had. I was soon caped up - and then the barber lifted the heavy glasses off my face. The room went a bit blurry. It was amazing how quickly my eyes had adjusted to needing the glasses. Soon there was vibrating at the side of my face. The blade made its way up my head before the barber flicked outwards as he got near to the front hairline. I could just make out a dark fuzz that was left in the place of the hair. This continued around my head as the barber pushed my head forwards and ran the clippers tight up the back of my head. It was the first time I'd ever had clippers used on my head, and the vibration through my skull wasn't pleasant. Especially as it made it abundantly clear that this was going to be a really short haircut. "How's it looking?" the barber asked once he'd completed the other side. "I definitely think shorter at the bottom" my dad answered - "I'm thinking only the merest hint of hair around the hairline and then blending smoothly up to the hair at the top" I'd run out of any disbelief that things couldn't get any worse. I felt I must surely be in some sort of hellish dream that I would wake up from. The barber nodded and took the guard off the clippers. The bare blade was then run a good half inch up the side of my head. Then at the back I could feel the clippers running much higher. The skin on my head was getting really hot. Different guards and levers were then used as he worked over and over the sides of my head as he inched higher and higher. He then took his comb and started blending the top of my hair with the now skinned sides. Any remaining bulk of hair on the sides of my head had been removed leaving just a like pelt before joining the, now - in comparison - relatively long hair on the top. My dad confirmed the sides were looking much better, so discussion turned as to what to do on the top. "As the part is so far over to the side, I think we just thin it out on that side, as the hair is already much shorter now, and it's just the right length to lie down. While on the other side, I can take it a bit shorter at the front if you want - maybe down another half inch, though then it won't be long enough to flip over at the front, but it will just have to lie straight across his head, as I'll thin it out more as well, so it will have no choice but to follow the part. That was agreed and soon the thinning shears were thrashing through my hair, and then the little hair that was left at the front was brushed down once more and then cut again at the stupid angle, but this time starting about a third of the way up my forehead, rather than at my eye. He then worked around the edges with a straight razor removing the tiny hairs that had replaced the hair that I had been left with the previous week, creating once more a smart freshly-barbered edge around my head. He then once more shaved in the part line on my head, and then placed the razor at the very top of my ear and scraping downwards, removing the small tab of hair that signposted where my once glorious sideburns had been. He explained that it made more sense to remove this hair altogether, given that as I now wear glasses it looks much smarter to have the hair stop at the level of the arm of my glasses. I thought it all looked totally ridiculous. The required dollop of pomade was then vigorously applied and then a comb was used to put everything into place - however, where as last time there had been a flourish where a small wave was created across the top of my head and through the quiff at the front, this time the comb was just dragged tightly across my head creating straight lines running perpendicular from the horrid white part line that was shaved into my skull. The barber handed me my glasses and my head swam into focus. It was much worse than before. My head now looked even smaller. My face looked gaunt, while the little hair that was remaining on the top of my head was plastered down - reminding me of how an old man might have his hair fixed to try and cover his bald spot. Only I was 15 not 75. The glasses on my face now looked even larger, and were the main defining feature now, and were exactly what the balding pensioner who has my haircut would choose to wear. Then I moved my head to the side and gasped. There was a big band of white skin glowing half way up my head with only the lightest stubble which then blended lightly into the little hair that was left on top of my head. No one at school had short hair. Razor cuts were only for people in the military. The barber showed me the back - it was even worse with a sea of pale white scalp rising three quarters of the way up my head before any sort of length of hair was allowed to grow. And now devoid of hair it highlighted the strange shape of my skull that jutted out at the back. It was a freak show. My dad was delighted - "that will be much easier for him to keep, and to be honest, is probably a good cut for him to keep now summer is coming" I shot him evils. The barber commented how nice it was to see a father taking such an interest in making sure his son was properly turned out. The barber suggested that if I wanted to keep this military horror of a haircut, then I should come back every 2 weeks to ensure it didn't get too bushy and the skinned sides remained visible. My dad enthusiastically nodded. With the shorter, smartest haircut any young guy would hate to wear, and clothes that only an old man could think were wearable, it surely couldn’t get any worse - but would my parent ever listen to compromise?

@yukcri asked:
In spite of what one might assume from her Arcana, Yukari was not one for physical shows of affection most of the time. She didn't like how being close to another made her feel--exposed, vulnerable past the surface-level pleasantries she was comfortable with. Welcoming affectionate touch was difficult... but initiating it was even harder. It was only on account of how much they had been through together that the Lovers was allowing herself to tilt her head sideways, weariness guiding her into using the Fool's shoulder as a pillow as they sat on the couch next to one another. "Ugh... why am I so tired today? We didn't even go to Tartarus last night."
Tumblr media
XXII ███ YUKARI, EVEN THOUGH SHE WOULD most certainly deny it, had a aura about her that led people to feel safe in her presence. minako, much like her brother, was standoffish in her own right--- the twins when they arrived back in iwatodai for the first time since that horrible year following the loss of their parents on the moonlight bridge weren't exactly prone to opening up, erecting a metaphorical wall between them & others. so used to being unable to make real connections as they often didn't get the chance to stay long in one place. moving from foster to foster. coming home was their act of defiance, picking a place & demanding to stay put. originally minako had small worries about being able to fit in. being gone from this city for nearly ten years made it foreign to her, transferring within her second year made her a stranger to everyone else. && yet, she had thrived beyond expectations. yukari being her first real connection since she & her brother arrived.
maybe it was all due to the circumstances( arriving within the depths of the dark hour, the night up top the dorm, the travels to tartarus, how a tragedy tends to bring people together ) that they grew close. if you asked minako she would tell you the moment she knew that she wanted to be friends with yukari was that first proper day when the lovers escorted the two fools to school. standing on the train looking out the windows & sharing the thought that it was as if they were sailing over the sea. everything else after, was just proof.
the lounge was cozy & the two girls even more-so, hold up on the couch with the tv playing something that was more or less just white noise at this point. the crimson fool flipping through a magazine left on the table by someone, shifting slightly the moment yukari rests her head against minako's shoulders to allow the lovers a much more comfy resting spot upon her, perfectly at ease at the close contact. " you do get up like mega early for archery practice though. that totally has somethin' to do with it i'm sure."

Perfect Stranger: Noah Schnapp
from STATUS Magazine August 2017 feat. Finn Wolfhard and Noah Schnapp
by STATUS Magazine
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We’ve been teased enough by his character’s appearance in the first season of Stranger Things, but actor Noah Schnapp promises a whole lot of weirder things happening next season, now that he’s in the picture.
Not a lot of 12-year-olds spend their day like how actor Noah Schnapp would normally spend his. His life is now a mix of his definition of normal and crazy. Starting his day with breakfast and a photo shoot perfectly contrasts his summer trip to Camp Echo Lake, wherein he got to spend time with his friends for seven weeks before starting a good amount of promo, advertisement, and photo shoot requirements. Everything suddenly turned out to be a bit of a whirlwind for Noah when Netflix’s original sci-fi hit Stranger Things aired, where he plays Will Byers, the kid who was lost and eventually found; although when he was saved from the Upside Down, something wasn’t quite right.
Noah caught the acting bug when he saw Annie on Broadway. “I remember watching the show and I really loved it. When I saw the main character on Broadway acting on stage, I really felt like I wanted to be on that stage. I wanted to be in front of the audience and not be one of the audience,” Noah recalls. At 7 years old, he took acting classes mainly for fun; however, as he progressed, he grew to love what he was doing and realized that he could actually make a career out of it. “My teacher recommended that I try getting into the acting industry—that’s when I started auditioning for several roles,” shares Noah. Two years ago, he landed the role as the voice of Charlie Brown in The Peanuts Movie, which he thought was an enjoyable thing to do. “I think it’s awesome when you’re voicing a cartoon character because you get to work one-on-one in a small booth with a director. He’s right there in front of you the whole time, guiding you while you’re saying your lines, which you can do as many times as you want until you get it right. You can be crazy and take a lot of roles,” he says.
Next came what threw Noah in together with a bunch of kids to become some of the brightest pop culture stars of the moment. He reminisces how he met some of the casts of Stranger Things two and a half years ago. “I met them one after the other in different places. I met Caleb [McLaughlin] in LA for the first time, and I met all the other kids on set one by one.
Everyone flew in on different days. We all didn’t know each other and we just knew that we were making this small show for one season. And we would shoot like forever; we were together, seeing each other every single day, and we just formed a close bond.” He continues, “We have a group chat, we do sleepovers, and talk to each other all the time.” In between shooting the show, Noah has done a lot of TV guestings and award show appearances with his Stranger Things co-stars and was also featured in Panic! at the Disco’s music video for their song “LA Devotee.” It’s all happening for Noah, but the kid is eager to remain an ordinary kid though living in his newly found strange and crazy life.
Q: What is it about acting that you like the most?
A: My favorite part about acting is I can be someone totally different and transform into another character. I get to try out this whole new world and time, and I find that really cool. I’m a normal kid but I can play someone who has a disability, who’s being abused, or who’s from another era.
Q: How do still keep normalcy in your life despite the fact that Stranger Things is such a huge hit?
A: It’s been crazy because when the show came out, I was in summer camp. We don’t have technology when we’re in camp so when I came out of camp, I realized that it turned out to be a big show, that I have all these followers on Instagram, and that I have people coming up to me on the streets. It’s really just my parents who are keeping me grounded and I still go to a normal school, keep a normal life, and just try to be as normal of a kid as possible.
Q: What’s the best part of being in Stranger Things?
A: My favorite part about being in the show is that I get to be around a bunch of kids, and that we can play and just have fun while we shoot.
Q: How will your character evolve in the second season without telling us too much?
A: In the second season, Will definitely has a larger role and he’ll be part of every character’s storyline. They will show how the aftermath of Will coming out from the Upside Down affected him. He will have a lot of emotionally-challenging scenes.
Q: Is there anything that you and Will have in common?
A: Will is very close to his brother and they do a lot of things together, and I have a twin sister named Chloe and we’re very close to each other too. I can relate whenever his brother would help him when things don’t go well.
Q: What’s the craziest fan theory about Stranger Things that you’ve seen online?
A: I think there’s this video that I saw on YouTube that someone said Hopper and Joyce would get together. I love it when people make couple theories like who would marry who or who would get together, I just find it very funny.
Q: Do you have a favorite character in the show other than Will?
A: My favorite character would be Eleven because she’s a freak and she doesn’t care. She has superpowers; she’s like the hero of the show. She’s cool.
Q: With the success of everything that you’ve been doing career-wise, what major changes did it bring to your life?
A: I started the show two and a half years ago and didn’t know a lot. And just growing up in the show together with such amazing people like Winona Ryder, David Harbour, and the Duffer brothers, I get to learn new tips and tricks at a very young age.
Q: What are you excited about this year?
A: Definitely for the second season of the show to come out. We’ve been filming so much and it’s been crazy; everyone worked so hard on the second season and it looks so great. I’m just waiting for it to come out and see how everyone would react to it.

Superheroine detective work: Super Klenk broadcast details uncovered
Ah yes, Super Klenk! The Filipino tv series that is possibly the most well hidden show in the history of superhero television..!
Tumblr media
Despite running in primetime on a major network, Super Klenk has left behind precious little evidence of its existence: scant details lifted from a press release, a tiny handful of low-resolution photos, and a few seconds of video footage in a promo. We're not even entirely certain how many episodes of the show were broadcast.
Until, perhaps, now...
Many many years ago Google Books began to collect scans of thousands of old newspapers. The site is somewhat neglected these days (the design has an early 2010s vibe), but the archive is still accessible and -- importantly! -- has indexes of a handful of Filipino papers.
Would there be any details of Super Klenk hiding amidst these column inches, perhaps..?
Time to turn detective...
The Philippine National Enquirer published weekly tv listings in its Saturday editions. Sure enough there's an entry for Super Klenk in its Saturday 1st January 2000 edition, showing that the show was scheduled for broadcast on Sunday 2nd at 8:00pm on Channel 7 (aka GMA-7.) Subsequent Saturday editions also have listings scheduling Super Klenk for January 9th, 16th, 23rd; February 6th, 13th; March 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th; and April 2nd, 9th, 16th. (No listings were available for February 20th and 27th, nor April 23rd -- those editions are absent from the archive.)
Tumblr media
A short article about Super Klenk's star Ara Mina, published on April 15th, claims the series had folded, suggesting that April 16th was likely the show's last broadcast. Presumably the next Enquirer Saturday edition (23rd April, missing from the archive) would have shown a replacement series. All archived editions after this date have Super Klenk absent from tv listings.
Common internet wisdom is that 13 episodes were broadcast before the show was cancelled. But (assuming broadcasts on 20th and 27th February) the tv listings show 4 episodes each in January, February, and March, plus 3 in April, making a grand total of 15 episodes.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately the Google archive for the Philippine National Enquirer only goes back as far as 1st January 2000. However, the one brief video clip we have of Super Klenk is from a promo that suggests its debut was set for December 12th. This might indicate 3 episodes in 1999: December 12th, 19th, and 26th. That ups the potential episode count from 15 to 18 episodes!
But we should be careful...
Tv listings can be unreliable. Guide magazines are often prepared six weeks ahead of broadcast, so don't reflect sudden cancellations or late reschedulings. Daily newspapers have a shorter lead time, but they typically only print the show title, making it impossible to know whether a repeat or original episode is being shown.
Indeed the Enquirer exhibits some contradictions within its own pages: the listings consistently show Super Klenk being broadcast at 8:00pm, yet there's a couple of brief mentions in articles that suggest the show was switched to 7:30pm during January.
Tumblr media
The tv listings may be unreliable, but at least they give us something to work from, rather than a vacuum.
But aside from these air dates, are there any other snippets of information lurking amidst the newspaper archive?
Sadly, not many. (Although it is possible they've yet to be surfaced by the right search query.) The 11th March edition gives a brief synopsis of the next episode, mentioning a plot that sees the heroine putting up with a house guest and fighting a villain known as Bingo Man. There's some profile pieces on actors who appeared in the series, but they only mention Super Klenk as a line item on a list of credits.
It is entirely possible that there are other archives, with magazines and newspapers that give further details on this series, but for now we'll have to make do with a list of potential broadcast dates and a brief plot synopsis of one episode.
The detective work continues...

This new crime show declared itself to be the first English-language “police procedural” drama produced and set on the French Riviera since the 197-s although its thunder was rather stolen by Britbox’s Murder In Province, which was made later but aired first. Set on Côte d’Azur, this one focuses on the unlikely crime-fighting partnership between idealistic cop Camille Delmasse (Lucie Lucas, Gloria) and ex-mafia con artist Harry King (Jamie Bamber, Battlestar Galactica) who solve a murder case each week, while Lucie hunts for the criminals who framed her police hero dad.

We rather approve of all these cosy crime series set in exotic locations - or just ones with great weather, really. The Mallorca Files (BBC UKTV, Wednesday), for example, or this new one that is said to be the first English-language procedural to be produced in Cannes in more than 50 years. (Riviera presumably doesn’t count as it’s not a procedural.) Lucie Lucas is the local detective who teams up with a former con artist and Englishman played by Jamie Bamber. The show is created by Chris Murray, known for his work on Midsomer Murders, Agatha Raisin and the rebooted Van Der Valk.
Radio Times
Tumblr media
There’s something for everyone in this Riviera detective show: great hair, chiselled jaws, luxury locations, sexual tension. And it’s this last element between its lead characters, detective Camille Delmasse (Lucie Lucas) and slightly shady Harry King (Jamie Bamber) that’s most dominant. Bamber’s con-artist grifts will put some viewers in mind of Pierce Brosnan in Remington Steele. Appropriately enough, as Bamber (in a tux in a casino) looks like he’s auditioning for James Bond.

When Cannes detective Camille Delmasse (Lucie Lucas) collides with debonair art collector Harry King (Jamie Bamber) during a high-speed pursuit, she’s irritated by the smooth-talking stranger. But as she investigates the death of a celebrated street artist known as the Jester, she and Harry keep crossing paths - and when Harry reveals he may be able to help Camille clear her father, the former chief of police, from alleged corruption charges, the two strike a mutually beneficial deal... Camille being a policewoman is a problem for Harry because he’s got something to hide,’ says Jamie. ‘But they each have something that the other needs. Gradually they get more dependent on each other, and become the od couple that works together solving crimes!’

I wrote this whole introductory paragraph about Marc Alaimo being a Dukat kinnie but actually I think this post speaks for itself
A couple things Alaimo said about Dukat (taken from memory alpha):
A lot of people assume that I am bad, that I am a heavy on the show, and I don't think so at all. If [Dukat] is pushed into the corner he can get real mean. That's part of his nature [...] So Dukat's a fighter. But he's fair, he's sensitive, he's intelligent, he's reasonable." (Cinefantastique, Vol. 28, No. 4/5, pp. 51 & 52) "Plus I think he's sexy – there's a romantic inside of him," the performer said. "I'm trying to be objective. I don't think of myself in those terms. But it's fun to look at him and say, he's a sexy Cardassian. He's cool [....] He's an opportunist. He aligns himself with what is convenient at the moment, but I don't think he's a psychopath, or capable of mindless evil [...] He's got power and he's not afraid to use it, plus he's charming, he's all these other things [....] I'm enamored by Dukat. I wish I could be more like him [...] I enjoy, I love this character." (Cinefantastique, Vol. 29, Nos. 6/7, pp. 44 & 45)
"What's interesting is that Marc Alaimo plays Dukat like he's the hero of the TV series," Behr commented. "You listen to Marc talk about Dukat, and it's totally different than I see the character, but he brings that to it and adds a whole other level to it." (Captains' Logs Supplemental - The Unauthorized Guide to the New Trek Voyages, p. 107) Behr clarified, "In Dukat's mind, Dukat is the hero of every episode he appears in." (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - The Official Poster Magazine, No. 10)
Behr observed that, throughout the seven years of portraying Dukat, Alaimo always maintained his assertion that Dukat was, at heart, a good person. "Until the very end, he wanted Dukat to be the hero of Deep Space Nine."

i watched the inheritance last night, usually I don't like channel 3/5 dramas (I'm from the UK and lots of the dramas/soaps on TV have the same plot and not very good acting) but this was actually really good, in my opinion the script was written well and the cast did a great job, ofc robs acting was amazing, and he looks amazing as well, I'm looking forward to the next episode. Also got to see his face on a magazine for the inheritance in M&S which was lovely 😏
Niiiiiiice! I can't really speak about previous channel 5 dramas as I've never seen them but I really enjoyed it too. It's so satisfying to see him in a role that's finally properly utilizing him and geared towards adults. 😂 No offense to Ackley or Fate, I obviously appreciate them both immensely but fuck. It's nice to see him get the material he deserves, it's time he were appreciated. 😈
And I've got serious magazine envy right now. I'm in the states so they aren't available to me, but I may eventually hunt down the Total TV Guide one on Ebay. I did that for his cover on Out magazine so perhaps I'll get lucky again.

If Inupi decided to become a idol or a model in Bonten!Timeline, Koko would be his fan number one. He would no care that the other bonten executives tease him about it, he would watch every new thing about Inui.
Au where Koko doesn't pay attention to idols and stuff so he doesn't actually know Inui's an idol. Instead one of the other bonten members find out first, probably Rindou or maybe Ran. They proceed to tell everyone apart from Koko, everyone finds it hilarious that Koko's ex is like this famous guy now and Koko doesn't even know.
So they start dropping hints and basically treating it as one big inside joke. Like Rindou leaves Inui's magazine covers lying around and laugh as Koko complains about them leaving rubbish everywhere and puts it in the bin without even glancing at the cover. Inui's on the TV so Sanzu switches it on but only gets Koko yelling at him to turn it down. Ran purposely guides Koko towards shops with Inui's picture up but Koko just turns to complain about how slow Ran's walking today.
It's not until they get tickets to one of Inui's shows and stand Koko front and centre with the best view that he realises. Koko probably turns white with his mouth hanging open in shock as the others all laugh at him with Rindou of course filming his reaction. After that he totally becomes his no1 fan always keeping an eye on him. Instead he's the one leaving the magazines lying around, turning on the TV and going to those specific shops.
