There are scenes from shows that stay with you for a long time. And the Blood Eagle from the Vikings is definitely one of them. Not one I want to rewatch often, or at all, but It was an exhausting watch, to see Jarl Borg's ordeal, as Ragnar sent him off to Valhalla, watched over by the villagers and Karl's shaken wife, the horror and discomfort rising as the cruel spectacle unfolds.

The music is what really made this particularly striking. It's hypnotic. The movements on screen, performed as if in a trance, fit perfectly.
