Rey Arturo

El rey Arturo se cuenta entre uno de los personajes literarios más famosos de todos los tiempos. La leyenda artúrica de los caballeros de la Mesa Redonda, Camelot, la búsqueda del santo grial, la aventura amorosa entre Lanzarote y Ginebra, y el mago Merlín han conformado e inspirado literatura, música y otras grandes visiones artísticas durante siglos. Se han escrito innumerables libros, filmado grandes películas, compuesto óperas, series de televisión, juegos, juguetes, obras de teatro y novelas gráficas que o bien reinterpretan o se inspiran en la leyenda artúrica que se desarrolló en Europa entre 1136-1485 d.C., se resucitó en el siglo XIX y sigue siendo popular en la actualidad.

Guenièvre

Guenièvre est la reine de l'île de Bretagne, l'épouse du roi Arthur et l'amante de Sir Lancelot dans les légendes arthuriennes, mieux connues sous leur forme normalisée dans Le Morte d'Arthur de Sir Thomas Malory (1469). Elle apparaît pour la première fois dans l'Histoire des rois de Bretagne de Geoffroy de Monmouth (1136) en tant qu'épouse d'Arthur. Elle est alors enlevée par son neveu Mordred et doit être sauvée par Arthur, mais son personnage reste peu développé jusqu'à ce que Chrétien de Troyes (écrit vers 1159-1190) ne la place au centre de l'intrigue de son Lancelot ou le chevalier de la charrette (vers 1177).

Chrétien de Troyes

Chrétien de Troyes (hacia 1130-1190) fue el mayor poeta romántico de su época, considerado hoy el padre del romance artúrico (junto con Godofredo de Monmouth) y también el padre de la novela por su forma narrativa. Nació probablemente en Troyes, en la región francesa de Champaña, y recibió el mecenazgo de María de Champaña (1145-1198), hija de Leonor de Aquitania (1122-1204), conocida por patrocinar las artes y fomentar la poesía del amor cortés.

Lancelot du Lac

Lancelot, aussi appelé Messire Lancelot ou Lancelot du Lac, est le meilleur chevalier de la cour du roi Arthur et l'amant de la femme du roi, la reine Guenièvre. Il est principalement connu grâce au roman Le Morte D'Arthur de Sir Thomas Malory (1469). Ce personnage a été inventé par le poète français Chrétien de Troyes (vers 1130-1190) dans son roman Lancelot ou le Chevalier à la Charrette (vers 1177), qui introduisit la liaison de Lancelot avec Guenièvre ainsi que sa réputation de combattant hors-pair.

Leyenda del grial

La Leyenda del grial (también conocida como la búsqueda del grial y la búsqueda del santo grial) se desarrolló en Europa alrededor de entre 1050-1485. Lo más probable es que se originara en Irlanda como folklore antes de que apareciera en forma escrita en algún momento antes de 1056 en El éxtasis profético del fantasma, un relato irlandés. El poeta francés Chrétien de Troyes (alrededor de 1130-1190) hizo popular el concepto en su Perceval o el cuento del grial (en torno a 1190) que dejó inconcluso y otros poetas completaron en la obra conocida como las Cuatro continuaciones.
