They wouldn't have a romantic relationship at all they would be QPPs that like to do little romantic gestures with each other

N would compliment J on her work and J would try to act like she knows her work is good but like the compliments

N speaks fluent J and knows what she's really trying to say when others don't like saying she'll change the way she does something means she cares how they feel but she never says it

J would be very protective of N from other people but they would have a very twin sibling like bickering relationship in the "that's MY idiot" way

J likes to bump N on the head when he's doing something he's not supposed to like eating trash he found

N likes to instate conversations for J to infodump about but make her think she started them since she loves talking about herself but J likes when N infodumps as well and thinks she's subtle about it but N pretends not to notice

Thinking about one of Nopes's most harmless retcons -

Indech forging the sacred weapons instead of Macuil is a retcon because in Claude's FE16 paralogue, per the "official biography made by the church", Macuil was the one who was skilled with his hands and became a blacksmith, and forged weapons for Seiros's army (the jp version has "セイロスの戦いに貢献したんだそうな" so it's less he made weapons for Rhea's army, but it was his way to contribute to the fight in general? Like Birdie making weapons for those dumb humans fighting with them?)

But then comes Nopes and Indech is the blacksmith - who got his forge and was admired by his totes not niece.

So why was this retconned?

To make FE16!Claude look like a clown because even if he researches stuff on his own, he can't get things right, or to make the Church sus, because they lie (they BaD) about which lizard had the role of the smith?

Given how Seteth, when Barney replies Macuil, goes "ah yeah people believe it was him but it was actually Indech the two worked together" this wasn't something that happened because no one gaf about FE16's plot like Leopold's Major Cichol Loincloth, but it was done on purpose.

Idk, maybe Rhea thought if she told the truth to people they would bother Indech to ask him to craft more weapons and he would either "have fun meddling" with them and accidently kill them, or she wanted to piss Macuil thus put his name in the records, so maybe when he was still around, some humans would ask him to forge weapons and since he doesn't like to be around humans he would be pissed?

Oh well, given how Nopes!Claude ended up, I think Nopes in general took a deliberate turn against it -

Linhardt understood who Turtle was, but Claude doesn't make the link between Birdie and Macuil, which is kind of a letdown when we consider his route is the only one where the truth about Nabateans is revealed, but that would have implied giving more than half figs about them and we can't have that

Is canon aki mean? In any case whether he’d be annoyed, irritated or just having a horrible rough day would he be mean to his s/o canonically?

no, he isn't mean at all. aki is easily the kindest character in the entire manga, in fact. his identity as a character centers around his complete and utter selflessness, even towards those he says he doesn't like.

aki has a strong sense of morals, so he can be serious or strict at times. he keeps a cold facade because he can't have people knowing how he really feels, and because it's the only way he can continue on in such a horrible world. but he's never outright mean, nothing he does is out of spite.

he's rude towards denji at the beginning of the manga because he knows devil hunters who don't know what they're getting into often end up dying, he's trying to protect denji in this way. and at the beginning, he still carries a lot of blind hate towards devils. but all of his values end up getting tested as the manga goes on and he finds he cares deeply for denji and power, because that's just the kind of person he is.

so I don't think he'd ever be mean to someone who he loves. sometimes, he can get irritated, but he would never take it out on you. actually, I think being near you would help to calm him down. he would want your presence and company after he's had a really terrible day.

#aki does tend to snap at denji and power when they're getting on his nerves sometimes lol #but I don't think he'd ever do that with his s/o #the relationship aki has with denji and power is very different to something like that #it's natural for siblings to yell and bicker with each other #like aki yells at those two like it's second nature #but he wouldn't even consider raising his voice at you #am I making sense...? There's something so weird about fandom pigeon-holing two characters in pseudo-familial roles. I should be glad people are exploring platonic relationships for once but it lowkey creeps me out how characters are confined into these roles. Like...not every relationship where the people have a 20+ age difference is automatically a pseudo parent-child relationship. A strictly platonic sometimes combative relationship does not mean the characters see each other as siblings. Interpersonal relationships can be so complex and varied why limit them to the roles of the nuclear family?

And I just. don't get where this is coming from. Yeah some of it is certainly a way to ward off characters you don't like together from shipping, so that you can accuse shippers of being incest freaks (especially with bigger age differences), but I've also seen this from proshippers. Are people really that afraid of ambiguity?

So after having figured out that Donnie is in fact their Long Lost Brother, the Drax Trio obviously want him back, and while Donnie is initially excited to find out that he has a bunch of siblings, he's less excited to find out that they're a bit, uh, evil. And they keep insulting April!! How dare they!!! Not to mention, he already has a dad, he doesn't need a new one! So no, Donnie isn't planning on just leaving his current family behind for this new one, and his brothers react to this in various different ways.

As much as Mikey wants Donnie back, Dr. Feelings understands that this is quite the adjustment for Donnie and that he may need some time to come to terms with the fact that he actually belongs with them and not with the humans. Mikey doesn't wanna force his brother to reunite with them, so instead he tries to convince Donnie to come home willingly through various ways. I mentioned this in an earlier post, but AU Mikey is essentially trying to give Donnie a redemption arc like Canon Mikey did with Draxum

Raph, however, sees Donnie and immedietly goes full Protective Big Brother Mode. He thinks the best course of action is to "forcefully rescue" (kidnap) him and and then convince him to stay and be apart of their family. He's can't help catastrophizing about all the way his baby brother is definitely being mistreated by Lou Jitsu and April and all the other evil humans oh NO they have to SAVE HIM!! The only reason he doesn't is because no one else in the Draxum family thinks it's a good idea

And then Leo. I'll go more into detail about Leo's character in this AU at a later dat cuz hhhhhhh but basically, he's still dealing with pretty intense Middle Child Syndrome and the LAST thing he need is another middle child joining the family! Why are all his family members so obsessed with getting Donnie back anyway? He's already clearly chosen the human side so why waste their time on him! .....Now that's not entirely the whole truth, he's kinda ecstatic when he first meets Donnie, except Donnie doesn't seem to care about them any, which... ouch.

Another way to describe their dynamic would be similar to their canon dynamic, a lot of friendly bickering.... except they don't really know each other and are also enemies here so like.... UNfriendly bickering.... which is just bickering lol. They fight a lot, is what I'm getting at.

Anyway you know the family dinner scene with Draxum in season 2 of the show? Yeah, Mikey tries that tactic here too. Like I said, Mikey wants to be patient with Donnie, but he does eventually get a bit tired of Donnie acting so hostile all the time so he starts organizing hangouts for the four of them (attendence is mandatory!)

And poor Donnie, this whole situation is a bit of an emotional rollercoaster for him, as you might imagine. Reuniting with your secret lost family is fun for all of five seconds before you find out that they're actually kinda messed up uh oh. A big reason why Donnie acts so hostile towards his brothers is because it's easier for him to just dismiss them as mere enemies that he feels no attatchment to. He's basically being made to pick between this new family and his old one is Not Fun.
