Movie no.10 of my Christmas movie marathon: sorry if I haven’t posted a movie the past couple of days I’ve been very busy but tonight & tomorrow I’ll try to catch up on the movies I missed. The first one tonight is 1947’s “The Bishops Wife” starring Cary Grant, Loretta Young & David Niven and also co-stars Monty Woolley & James Gleason 😊

Cary Grant was at the peak of his career by this time with big hits under his belt like The Awful Truth, Only Angels Have Wings, The Philadelphia Story, Penny Serenade, Suspicion, His Girl Friday, Notorious, The Bachelor & The Bobby-Soxer and so many others 😊

This film is probably his only traditional holiday film role playing an angel named Dudley sent down from heaven to straighten out the Bishop and his wife’s (played by Niven & Young) relationship at Christmas 😊

The film was nominated for 5 Oscars including Best Picture & Best Director for Henry Koster but won only one for Best Sound 😊
