what did capture your attention of wolfwalkers? that made you love about this movie? cinegraphicly, artisticly and storywise?

I was already a big fan of Tomm Moore's films with their moods and distinctive art style, (Song of the Sea in particular) so when I heard he was going to produce a new one, I knew I was going to love it.

And I love wolves as much as I love dragons or dfo stories.

Now WolfWalkers has become my favorite because I love the atmosphere. Aurora, one of my favorite singers, was also involved and her music always had something unique and very spiritual/powerful (that's not the right word but I don't remember the one I'm looking for xD) and it really fit with the movie and the passage with the forest, where Robyn is finally free to do what she wants without having to worry about the society's conveniences. Seriously, you can’t watch Running With the Wolves’s sequence without having at least a smile on your face (personnellement, je chantais le refrain dans ma tête)

I love Robyn's story, the little girl of a hunter who just wanted to be like her father and simply make him proud without knowing all that was at stake, and who grows up discovering a new point of view, refusing to conform according to what the society she was born into dictates and finally making her own choices. Even though the story itself is simple, the pace, the art style that varies according to the point of view and the characters themselves bring a lot to the movie and make it vivid and unique. A good story doesn't need to be complicated, after all, it just needs to be well-told. And the studio succeeds in doing this perfectly, as it did with its previous films.

After all, all the work done for this movie is just monumental, the animation is so beautiful, the format fitting the scenes, and most of the characters are so engaging and well acted. Mebh is my big favorite, by the way! I love this character, her personality, her antics, the energy she gives off! I find her very natural and realistic. And she forms a great duo with Robyn.

And then, WolfWalkers is just a delight for the eyes. It's a rather particular style, and I understand that not everyone can like it, but the landscapes and the colorful atmospheres, the representation of the wolfwalkers, their vision and their magic, I found it beautiful. (One of the latest sequences was absolutely gorgeous and it is now my new wallpaper too)

WolfWalkers is a masterpiece, and if you haven't seen it yet, go ahead if you can.

Nickname: I use “Arukas“ online because that’s how you write “Sakura“ backwards XD Yes, Sakura as in CardCaptor Sakura - my childhood fave :) There was this anime magazine I used to read where one of the editors used a character's name backwards as an alias so I tried that and it spelled something readable, so here we are. I’m a girl, by the way, in case people haven’t guessed XD Currently on my 20s.

Star Sign: I’m an Aries. I feel like half of the description of Aries fits me well, half has nothing to do with me. I don’t believe in Astrology but I find it a fun concept! Go, rams! XD I love the Aries Saints in Saint Seiya by the way, I love its unique neat legacy ^^ If Ophiuchus counted, though, apparently I would be a Pisces!

Height: 1.70m (5′7′‘)

Last film I saw: I’ve recently watched How to Train Your Dragon 3! If we’re talking live-action, I finally watched Kingsman 2. I honestly can’t remember the last anime film I saw though ^^’ I gotta get back to those. Oh, I did watch Digimon Tri 6 XD Though it’s been months ahaha

Favorite musician: Oh, that’s hard. I do like some musicians/bands (Brazilian and English-speaking) but I don’t really follow their stuff. Like, I don’t actively search for new music, but if I like what I listen somewhere (radio, a party, etc) I take those specific songs I heard XD I like pop. Some rock songs. Idk. Ballet is also cool. I do listen to a lot of soundtracks though, instrumental or not (that includes musicals, movies, tv series, anime...also lots of disney). I occasionally sing soundtracks to myself when no one’s around

Song Stuck In My Head: Recently, for some reason, Beauty School Dropout from Grease and Glad You Came - or at least Glee’s versions of that XD.

Other Blogs: @lands-of-fantasy. Basically where I post everything I like that is not anime?? XD About movies and tv series, I mean. And books. Mostly live action, but it also features some Disney/Dreamworks and a bit of animated/comics superhero stuff. In fact it has quite a lot of superhero stuff lol why does Marvel and DC produce so much content at once?? I’m only one person!

Do I Get Asks: Sadly, almost never!

Blogs following: Currently 16. Yeah, I don’t follow many blogs... Partially because I don’t want to overwhelm my dash and partially because I try to avoid spoilers. Though I do occasionally check on some I don’t follow! There are 2 or 3 I actually check frequently and regularly, but don’t follow them officially cause they post A LOT, including things I’m not interested in.

What I’m Wearing: ? Shorts and a t-shirt.

Dream job: Hell if I know! If only God would send me a sign

Dream Trip: I would love to go to England! And Italy. And Japan! Maybe Egypt? Also several Disneylands, lol. I did go to Disney once though, which was a Dream Trip of mine, so yay!!!

Languages: Portuguese and English

Favorite foods: If we’re talking about real food, I love Feijoada (it’s a black beans meal). Also Cuscuz (which is corn based). And meat in general! We eat a lot of beef in Brazil. If we’re talking those caloric wonders, I can’t resist cheeseburgers nor french fries! Also pizza, of course. Snack wise, I’m weak for chocolate cookies.

Random facts:

Fantasy is my favorite genre in media. Give me magic. Mythical creatures and races. Also far away lands. And good old sword-fighting! Medieval settings are cool. Supernatural beings are also welcome.

If I’m watching something and it doesn’t feature anything fantastical or at least some sword-fighting at all, it’s probably a romance. Maybe a musical, though not as often. Then again musicals are kinda fantastic in their own way!

I grew up with the 90′s anime. In 2013 I read the manga and got into the old musicals. And then I watched PGSM! Then came the new musicals and crystal. I enjoy each and every iteration, though in varying degrees of course. I pick the things I like the most in each version and take those as canon XD

I usually watch the subbed versions of foreign live action movies/series. Animation wise, however, I always aim for the dubs XD As an anime fan, however, I obviously have to resort to subtitles cause sometimes there’s simply no dub version!

tori: i can’t cook to save my life. i think it’d be nice. my mom tried to teach me once…that didn’t go well. i think if…she was still alive i would know how to cook.

Honey - Have you ever considered marrying someone? What is your opinion on marriage in general?

luke: well i mean, i have…thought about it, yes *eyes flicker to tori*

tori: i guess…i guess i never thought i’d live long enough to even consider it, but… *glances up at luke*

tori: i think it’s something really special. it’s a big decision too, and it’s something that should be discussed and contemplated rationally. it’s also something to be cherished.

luke: *looking at tori and stroking her hand again, a small smile on his lips* i agree

Mint - Does Ice cream exist in your world? If so, what is your favorite Ice cream flavor?

tori: yes! and i love it! i sneak it into camp all the time. i love strawberry ice cream.

luke: i really only like it because it’s a good bargaining chip. smuggling ice cream into camp was worth more because you have to keep it frozen. it’s very perishable item.

tori: *rolls eyes* i swear, his sweet tooth must’ve fallen out or something. but he’s right about the bargaining. you wouldn’t believe what kind of favors you can get out of getting ice cream into camp.

Baby (blue) - Would you consider having children? If so, how many?

luke and tori: *more furious blushing*

tori: like i said about marriage, i never really thought i’d live long enough to consider it. but…i think i like the idea of children. *frowns* i don’t know how safe they’d be around us though *looks over at luke*

luke: i’d have to think about it more. i’d love to have children with tori, but…i also agree with her concerns. it’s more dangerous for them, and…that’s a lot of responsibility. *frowns deeply* you have to make tough choices and sometimes they’re wrong

tori: *moves closer and rubs his arm with her free hand*

Periwinkle - Would you consider yourself to be a good parent? what do you think a good parent should be?

luke: i don’t like these questions anymore

tori: i would try to be the best parent. of course i’m going to make mistakes, but that’s part of life. that’s the very human part of who i am. *looks at luke for a moment* i think that i’d try and mimic my mom, because she was the best mom i could’ve ever had. i think…i think luke would be a very good parent. i know he would protect and cherish our child or children and… *looks at luke again* he may make mistakes, but i know we’ll come through them

me: *glances at luke* uh…

tori: *shakes head*

Amethyst- What is your aesthetic?

luke: my what?

tori: i asked leo about this, but it’s so hard to define. it’s something pleasing to look at–it’s very specific to your personal tastes. it doesn’t have to be an object, it can be clothes on a person. or a person themselves. if…if that makes sense.

luke: i don’t understand this question. does sword-fighting count? i guess–pleasing to look at? *glances at tori* well...tori in armor, sword drawn. or when she’s asleep in the morning lights filters through the windows and makes her glow. when we’re training and little hairs start to wiggle loose from her braid and stick to her forehead. her eyes. her smile.

tori: *hiding behind her hands and blushing too much to speak*

luke: *laughs and puts his arm around her shoulders, pulling her into him* brush passes–you know what those are?

me: *scoffs* of course

luke: hushed conversations. the empty hermes cabin. empty camp. the sound of tree nymphs racing through the forest. the sound of wind whistling in your ears as you run. charismatic smiles. mischievous eyes. does that answer the question?

tori: *takes a deep breath and pulls her hands from her face* i really liked looking at my mom’s guitar on its stand, underneath the lamp. posters of plays and musicals covering the walls. bonus if they’re signed by the cast and crew. *sighs* as much as i hate apollo, i really do like early morning or late evening sun–there’s something soft and soothing about the light it creates in the sky. *blushes and glances at luke, hunching her shoulders* luke’s blue eyes. and the look of concentration he gets when he trains or is in battle. in the middle of the night, when he’s asleep. it’s…it’s the most relaxed an carefree i ever get to see him. *mumbles* in one of his many brown shirts *sighs* shirtless–oh my gods, did i just say that out loud? next question!!!

tori: i’m a scorpio *looks at luke expectantly*

luke: *rolls eyes* capricorn

Snow - Have you ever seen snow? Do you like it? What do you like to do in the snow?

tori: i love snow!! my mom used to throw snowballs at us, in the house, on the first day we get snow. right after we’d woken up and gone out into the kitchen for breakfast. it’s also...really beautiful, the way it sparkles in the sun. the sound it makes when you walk on it. the silence of it when it falls. it quiets the earth and it love it.

luke: i tolerate it. it’s not my favorite. it’s cold. it makes things icy. but i agree that it can be quite beautiful. just so long as i’m not out in it, i’m fine.

Cream - Do you prefer Tea, Coffee, or Cocoa? (If your world has those things. If not, what sort of hot drinks do you have?)

tori: oh, cocoa, no question. it’s my childhood favorite, and will always be my first choice. tea is my next choice.

luke: coffee. black. like my soul.

tori: *playfully shoves luke so hard he nearly falls out of his chair* don’t listen to him. he puts so much milk in his coffee. i’m trying to get him to drink more herbal tea.

luke: *righting himself in his chair* i honestly prefer energy drinks

tori: *shaking her head* it’s not healthy

Chiffon - Do you prefer a larger and cleaner environment, or a smaller and cozier one?

tori: i like small and cozy. it feels more intimate and warm. lived in.

luke: i...honestly like larger and cleaner environments. but that’s really only because of the crowded fucking hermes cabin. *tuts, rolls eyes, and shakes head* i’m tired of it being so crowded. and i can see how miserable it makes everyone having to live like that. *takes a breath* i can see myself in a smaller, cozier environment with tori, though. *looks over at her and takes her hand*

Ecru - Do you have curly, wavy, or straight hair?

tori: my hair is naturally wavy, but very softly wavy. if you weren’t looking close enough, you wouldn’t notice.

luke: *shrugs* pretty straight, i guess

Sugar cookie - What reminds you of your childhood?

luke: i thought you said that last question was the last one!

me: *curls up in chair, hides behind clipboard and mutters* you don’t have to answer this one

luke: *looks away moodily*

tori: *takes his hand into both of hers and gently strokes the top* hot cocoa, of course. softly sung lullabies. the sound of the guitar or violin. music in general, really. warm hugs. my brother practicing his lines either by himself or with me or my mom. when my mom would read to me and voice act all the characters. dan practicing the violin--badly. my mom humming from the kitchen.

Graphite - Do you like to draw? If so, do you draw often? What do you like to draw?

tori: um...i actually do like to draw. mostly sketching, honestly. i don’t draw all that often, though. maybe once or twice every few months. *shrugs* don’t really have the time. i like practicing guitar more. when i do draw, i like sketching places and things, mostly. *blushes then mumbles* sometimes i’ll sketch luke.

luke: i leave that stuff to the apollo kids. i’m more of a con and pavement artist.

me: boo

luke: *rolls eyes* can we go now?

it’s the end of the semester, the profs were threatening a strike (which may not be happening anymore, hopefully??? we’ll see come april 30) and i just have...a ton of shit to do before the semester ends in both academics and housing/storing my shit/moving back to my home state

Oh my god this game! This fucking amazing game! Seriously guys this has become one of my favorite games of all time now just because of how it messes with the player and plays with your expectations. Plus I absolutely loved the characters in this game too. xD These are the kind of games that really add to the medium of video games by doing something that only a video game can do. There’s definitely stuff in the media that can break the fourth wall. But only a game can mess with the player in such an interactive way because a game like this adds and removes things from your computer folders just by playing it. There was tons of time, energy, hard work and thought put into this game in general and how the game messes with the player. You go in expecting it to be a cute visual novel dating simulator with quirky girl characters but it becomes so much more then that in a way that you don’t expect at all and actually kind of makes fun of visual novel dating sim games at the exact same time. This game shines because the developers put so much thought into making this game aware that it’s a game and I absolutely love it when games do stuff like this it’s so fucking cool and awesome! :D Major props and appreciation to Dan Salvato and to anyone else that worked on this game because I think it came out incredible! ^_^ I’m happy that Seán played this game because I wouldn’t have discovered it if it wasn’t for his videos of it. :) I’ve had so much fun with this series and experiencing this game with him too. I loved seeing how into this game he was even before it “breaks” and I loved seeing his reactions to everything and how much he nerded out over it in this video and I loved his voice acting for this characters and how he kind of added his own jokes to the lines that were written in the game too. Plus I absolutely loved seeing him bring Antisepticeye in when the game starts going into crazy mode and how Robin managed to edit to make Anti’s gltiches look like the glitches that are in the game too, it fit so well and seriously really added to these videos! :D After Seán uploaded the last video I downloaded this game and played it for myself and got the best ending that you could possibly get in this game. Which is a lot different then the ending that he ended up getting in this video! xD I knew he wasn’t going to get that ending I got though because he didn’t interact with all the girls before Sayori dies. But you need to make multiple save files to do that. I’d love to see him try to get that ending in a live stream or something because that ending is much happier and in my opinion I think that’s how the game is actually meant to end. But the ending he got was still really cool though, despite being a “bad ending” it still fits the game and doesn’t ruin the experience. :) I don’t know what else can I say? I love this game and I loved watching this series and watching Seán play it and be freaked out and amazed by it, haha! :D
